Is here on Bitcointalk any official thread about Peercoin? This looks abandoned.. Roll Eyes

This thread may be abandoned, however Peercoin still has a thriving community - http://peercointalk.org/

Most discussion regarding Peercoin happens on the peercointalk forums.

Thanks Smiley I was surprised that so quiet here .. Smiley

On peercointalk for sure I find the information I need!

Cheers!

Yes most are over at https://www.peercointalk.org/index.php

The Git repo on GitHub seems to have been closed. Why? It's a pity...

I'd also like to know about that. Can't we pull request new sources of store locations?

I forked from here https://github.com/recoded-co/coinmap is that not the master repo? still live for me?

new store locations I always pulled direct off the site as was not stored in repo when i forked and added ppc

Did some more research and I believe NothinG is NOT a scammer, PPC are gone, wallet was not backed up and server was lost.  More info with proof from blockchain here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=102638.msg10617014#msg10617014

151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [PPC] NothinG's Pool (Beta Testing) on: March 01, 2015, 03:42:46 AM
Ok just to clear the air on NothinG and his original PPC pool.

I have been working on a project here: http://charts.peercointalk.org/

This allows me to scan the blockchain for POW blocks and which address they came from.  I turned it on the start of the blockchain and saw some interesting results.

This combined with my withdraw transactions from the pool I have been able to isolate the address at which the pool was mining the PPC coins to.

Have a look at these transactions:

https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/tx/877419934857b5265fceb69a72570c589a04182d6da64fe986eaefb809e05439
https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/tx/370706b9447944da4ab27d73351dd323a3ee9527e8d379c022fc7b746266002c
https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/tx/6803fb380c2a687fcb099589a39934ff812b8244867aac5717058d14837c4f38

These I can confirm are transactions to my wallet https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PBYdLfZa9d6bsgq8NQfBLzQ7HJgsYpj4ve

and they show the source of the coins as coming from PAA3yN86ofXMHvFwqKNeEx4YXRPb7gUfK2

Have a look at the current state of the address and last transactions and you can see https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PAA3yN86ofXMHvFwqKNeEx4YXRPb7gUfK2

Balance: 11,535.45 PPC  last transaction - 2012-10-02 17:39:59

So the coins mined at the pool have not moved since October 2nd 2012 and this coincides with the last post date from NothinG on this pool -  Posted on: October 08, 2012, 12:54:52 AM

The PM I got from NothinG when I asked him about the pool was
Quote
The server company I was with lost the vps during a migration and I wasn't running any backups. I was so busy installing and un-installing the OS, that I didn't have any snapshots. I was working on it for a few days when it went down.

Was NothinG running mining from different addresses from the start of the pool? maybe is my answer as older transactions to my wallet show the source of the blocks from PD3mSEpYBkqJaxgY9VNgbMfn85DxVra4fM https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PD3mSEpYBkqJaxgY9VNgbMfn85DxVra4fM

Though again this address Balance: 6,488.05 PPC last transaction - 2012-10-02 13:07:58

Also https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PRnPA454UUw7xX55LT152CwJydXx6rxYzF Balance: 3,846.13 PPC last transaction - 2012-09-13 01:51:32

Other addresses possibly linked to the pool but empty:
https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PVwwYxFvGa7mkRRopnYvfRTdEudHARbHkb
https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PEbZFgW4xUdFoeQAvJuwiCdFuN8X9RLKa3

So it is in my opinion at this point in time that NothinG is telling the truth in that he lost the pool wallet and had no backup.  Or he is still sitting on these coins waiting to offload.  I would suggest removing the scammer tag until these coins move from the addresses:
https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PAA3yN86ofXMHvFwqKNeEx4YXRPb7gUfK2 11,535.45 PPC
https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PD3mSEpYBkqJaxgY9VNgbMfn85DxVra4fM 6,488.05 PPC
https://bitinfocharts.com/ppcoin/address/PRnPA454UUw7xX55LT152CwJydXx6rxYzF 3,846.13 PPC

152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [PPC]&[XPM] Forum for PPC (PeerCoin) and XPM (PrimeCoin) on: February 25, 2015, 12:18:54 AM

Hey all,

I am proud to announce that the official Peercoin Forum here has its own new Peercoin Theme that you should be viewing as it has been set as the forum default.

A lot of hard work has gone into this (shout out to Sentinelrv for all his help in particular) and we hope you like what you see Smiley We have spent time bringing the theme from peercoin.net with the header nav and drop down links and the matching logo style.  The colours have been selected and matched as well so all the greens, greys and black/greys match on the hex codes.

Obviously we are open to suggestions for improvements, things you like / dislike etc and what would be really useful is if you can post in here or this thread http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=3966 with screenshots of any bugs or unusual behaviour you see or experience on the forum.

Two known bugs for now:
The triangle drop down in the header should turn green when hovered over
The submenus in the forum have a slight excess boarder of green that is highlighted by the hover over being different.

I also plan to bring a "Late Night Peercoin" Theme in as well that will be based off this new theme but with much darker colours throughout so it is easy on the eyes when viewing late at night.

Now to bring all the peercointalk services in line... (see you all in a few weeks!)

Any donations are greatly appreciated for this work can be made through the peer4commit project here

or directly to me via the addresses in my signature.

Many thanks and enjoy Smiley

I assume the original dev has abandoned this project with no response to the pull requests from Abdussamad to the security issue found.

I have forked the original project and pulled in the recommended changes and am hosting it here :

Donate to the development of this project on Peer4commit: http://peer4commit.com/projects/139

any requests please PM me, if the project takes off seriously again I will start an official thread

I don't think rat4 has invented POS, but he did come with the POS-only solution.

Peercoin invented the first version of POS, Novacoin cloned and tweaked Peercoin and Blackcoin cloned Novacoin. Blackcoin is a hybrid as it is ultimately based on a hybrid (Peercoin), only it's POW phase is over as it only lasted a week.

Nxt was the first pure, 100% POS crypto. And I am repeating myself from about 6 months ago, I am surprised this is still being put out there...

So true, hence my vote is for Sunny King developer behind Peercoin and Primecoin.

Just to say I really like your project and I am coding up a version for Peercoin so they can list their businesses.

I am running my own version here for testing and development http://coinmap.peercointalk.org/ and pleased to see I could get it all set up and working, I have forked your repo Stick so that I can send you a pull request should you like what I do when adding Peercoin, but I am happy to keep my version separate for bitcoin and Peercoin as you were talking about removing the LTC version as no donations etc and adding everyones coins would just make the map very messy.

But just wanted to give you a heads up the Peercoin community loves your project and we are developing this further Smiley

progress can be watch here http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2724.0
on our github repo https://github.com/FuzzyBearBTC/coinmap
donations can be made through peer4commit - http://peer4commit.com/projects/84

keep up the great work and loved checking out the businesses in my local area Smiley need more!!
