So as good as it is to see Devcoin listed on exchanges we do need to be careful about where funds are traded especially as Vircurex and Cryptsy turned out to be bad exchanges and funds lost. Note this scam accusation thread about listex.io https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4799338.0stay safe and keep vigilant Fuzzybear

No issues with the share distribution and future exchange listing bounties, great work cyya Out of interest though has anyone been able to log into listex? I could create a new account but always get a timeout on trying to login to the actual exchange part of the site, anyone else? Fuzzybear CTYA got devcoin on Listex, so he gets the third exchange bounty of 20 shares, this will go into round 85. You can see the dev/ltc offers on Listex at: https://dashboard.listex.io/trading/dvcltcI suggest a bounty of 15 shares for the next ten exchanges, are there any objections?

If you made 10btc with no initial deposite, just how do u think this is NOT a scam and trying to get u to deposit btc into the site that you will never see again. Did you ever get that Nigerian Prince email where millions of $ are waiting to be distributed to helpful people who send credit card details and deposit an initial amount into a bank account etc.... So this scam is not a new one. DO NOT USE THE SITE and DO NOT DEPOSIT BTC. Final point u offering 1 btc if someone can give u 0.05btc starts to make it look like u might be in on the scam. What happens when the 0.05 btc is gone and you have no BTC withdrawn from the site to pay back the person who lent you the btc? they will come on here and give u bad rating and trade with caution and ask why u not paying them back and if u been scammed is not part of my problem for getting my 0.05btc back etc. Risk your own btc and money, you will learn more from your mistakes.. or better yet research where you are playing with your btc and sending it. Thus reduce your risk when using BTC. Fuzzybear Well I made about 10 btc so now I want to cash out ok? But I dont have enough to withdraw. There are alot of people playin there do you think they arent get withdraw. If someone can give me .05 I can withdraw and ill promise give you 1 btc. But thats how their faq say.

Hi all, Just wanted to voice a few thoughts after having been catching up on a few threads and other coins etc. Firstly exchange listings and new exchanges. Again huge hats off to CYTA for their hard work on following up on the exchanges and managing to get Devcoin listed on 2 new exchanges. I would recommend 2 things now. 1. I dont think we need to pay anyone to list Devcoin on their exchange. Any funds put into such would probably be wasted and could have been used to help buy up the devcoins and increase the DVC price overall. 2. It seems there are a number of other cryptocoins and assets that have been hit by exchanges hacked running off with money etc and a fair few looking about to try find new exchanges to list their cryptocoin (IXCoin, Feathercoin, BBQCoin, WorldCoin) just a few that popped up and saw on their threads or coinmarketcap they no longer listed on exchange etc. Again IXC is a merge mined coin just like devcoin and been around about as long so maybe https://freiexchange.com would be interested in listing that coin. point 2 will help bring greater volume to the exchange and thus show it up as a place to arbitrage the price against other exchanges and help boost the revenue for https://freiexchange.com so they can develop more features and attract more users etc. We can help spread the word of this nice exchange we have found and see if we can help drive crypto traders to the exchange. Next point I see people are talking about the need for people to be able to spend devcoins on real life products, items and services etc. I might be willing to run another share passthrough like I did on cryptostocks with the ASICMiner Devcoin Passthrough but I am yet to find any BTC or crypto stock investments that would be a fairly safe investment to start up such a service for the devcoin community. Anyone any ideas for investments? or anyone know of a platform that I could setup a passthrough for shares like this on? If not I might look into making my own site if enough interest. Fuzzybear

This is very sound advice from bitmover, and I would be more inclined to tip a Merit for the usefulness of this post than the original plug to try buy merit in OP's post I.E buying merits to rank up, which is immoral and against rulesFuzzybear If you wrote this book , or read it, and if the content is good, why are you buying merits?
Can't you share what you learned there and get your merits on a legit way?
Of you build a good reputation here, as a knowledge person, many people could buy your book.
But you are acting like some scammer, buying merits to rank up, which is immoral and against rules. How do you expect someone to buy your book ?

Dont forget there is Peercoin with Proof of Stake not using massive amounts of energy to secure the network https://peercoin.site/#energyTerawatthours used per year ¹ PPC = 0.0098 TWh BTC = 61.9048 TWh Fuzzybear Our environment are getting worse everyday, by air pollution, water pollution, global warming, not enough of disposal landfill, more endanger species. Blockchain improved many of our life, can it also help with these problem?
The blockchain (bitcoin) has actually harmed the environment by using mass amounts of energy. :/

Hi Wiser, yes you download the Bisq client and it runs like the devcoin client / wallet where it connects to nodes and peers, select your currency from dropdown menus and shows rates etc. Not worked out how to actually trade or deposit yet but might make a steemit article if i get it working etc or put one on devtome Fuzzybear Fantastic work CYTA and gtz on the share reward yes very much deserved Will have a look at the Bisq as not seen this before and looks a very exciting exchange / project. Fuzzybear CTYA wrote the devcoin trading code and committed it to Bisq: https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq-assets/pull/3and devcoin is now trading on the Bisq network: I have v7 bisq installed on a doze 7 64bit PC & can confirm that DVC is there. For anyone having trouble displaying it: Click on settings. In preferences, go to Display altcoins (bottom right) Click on "add altcoin" click on Devcoin (DVC) Start trading! so CTYA is awarded 40 shares for listing devcoin on the second exchange. I'm going to have to take a look at this too. So, you have to install something on your computer first? I don't really understand.

They sound desperate for the ad revenue. If it is going to cost you a lot to put it advertised on there then maybe consider it but what is their webpage ranking? how many hits their site have? what level of exposure and ultimately new business you expect to generate from the advertising? How much would it cost to advertise on here bitcointalk or say reddit and what do you think the return on the advert would be then? Hope this helps, Fuzzybear One broker has said that my ads will be displayed before I send over any payment.

My team is working on a project and for the past few months I have received emails and calls from ad brokers representing crypto publishers asking if I'd like to advertise my project using display ads.
Is this a good idea? Anybody else get these emails? What should I look for in a good broker/exchange/publisher before purchasing ad space?
I would be very careful, most emails I get from people looking to sell me advertising space are looking to make a quick buck and fill their pockets with my btc! If your product is good and useful for people then word of mouth and good feedback should get you a long way. In general I have never clicked on any ad offered from bitcointalk or any exchange broker or crypto website, even from my own forum I ran for number of years etc. People just in general dont like ads and you should not be forced into buying ad space. a few posts on here and threads dedicated to the project and support or anything else will get you exposure and get you in touch with your user base and future clients etc. Fuzzybear

Ah yes the no technical person wanting explanations for benefits and reasons why not gone for the very technical new development that everyone is excited and talking about. I would almost approach this from the other end where the limits of a decentralised exchange. In this case your decentralised exchange has no sole person responsible and thus accountable for the software tat is running their business. When something goes wrong and people want to speak to a manger / person in charge etc. Now by running a centralised exchange you get to promote YOUR exchange and your face name business profile etc and can have full transparancy and not be accused of hiding behind decentralised code or anonymous users / investors / developers etc Secondly you in a centralised exchange have put your company name on the line and this can be very powerful in itself. Remember the Winklevoss twins and how they bought a load of BTC well any time btc was on a rally or price goinjg up in the early days these 'big' names become important to offer credibility and a familiar name for people to read further into and investigate. Your centralised exchange can offer to do this with your name again. Base example but I would be interested in seeing what else say Bill Gates has produced if I am going to use this Windows Microsoft computer... and I am not sure who has developed my decentralised computer or the code behind it thus I would be putting trust in someone else research or trust... I'm sure there are some other legal advantages also... ie tax writeoffs, claiming tax back and limited company insurance that you would be eligible for if you ran your exchange as a standard business model etc but I bet the tax man or other legal bodies will be looking closer into your decentralised exchange when you start turning a tidy profit etc. and this more than likely a bit of a grey area for legal standings etc till time passes. Fuzzybear Thank you. It is nice explanation and agree that, from technical point of view, it is much more difficult to create a 'close to perfect' Decentralised exchange..
In my case, here problem is, investor being a not-very-technical-person, is looking at de-facto "Dex is better than Centralized". Definitely I can explain, how difficult it is to implement codes in better way. But every week or so, there has been new ICO announcing that they are coming with DEX. Many of them are not capable and just for the sake of attracting investors and create hype for their ICO sale, they anyway announce their idea. But investors are listening DEX more frequently. Now, apart from explaining that we are not coming up DEX due to technical reasons, are there other benefits of Centralized, which can be explained ? Like, in centralized, trading fees would benefit him, as investor ? Or any more reasons to say, "We want to come with Centralized now, and DEX later" ?

I am somewhat under the impression that to setup a Centralised exchange there is already pretty much open source software out there that does all you need with only having to do a degree of branding and setup for the new exchange to be setup.
I remember looking back and seeing 2-3 possible solutions like this 4-5 years ago now. Thus for another centralised exchange to setup the level of development required is much lower and there are lots of developers that would be able to help out with various parts of the project.
Decentralised exchanges however have a much higher entry lvl of development and coding required to setup I have found. This puts people off, also reduces the number of people able to help out and offer support when things go wrong.
So from a technical development point of view I would think that this would help explain why centralised exchanges are more popular at the moment than decentralised ones when it comes to setting up a new one for new businesses.
Not sure how much of a factor this would be also but usually takes a few years to work out and fix bugs and issues in common codebases, thus the code used to run decentralised exchanges has not really been fully stressed tested or checked for bugs etc thus there may be a fear of a vulnerability being found and thus causing serious issue for the new company while they try patch a fix or hope they have not been hit with an attack already etc.
