141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][0.8.6] Hirocoin - X11 - Secured Blockchain - Time Warp Limitation - KGW on: March 30, 2014, 07:29:45 PM

I think it was around 7am in the UK at that time and later in the day going east across Europe. It was daytime to evening for Asia. I do not think that making sure the US is awake when a coin is launched necessarily makes it any fairer. It was 10:30 in Moscow and 15:30 in Tokyo.

There is a reason why most coins launch at arount 7pm. The launch of HIRO was in the early morning for most of btctalk population. Hardly any Japanese mine crypto due to high power/hardware costs. It can not be denied that you chose a very inconvienient time so dont be offended if people are alleging malintent. I'm not happy with that either but what have been done, was done.
lol the majority of mining is done by Chinese. ... As opposed to what you're saying.

So if it's launched at 7 pm it's argued that the biggest miners are sleeping, if it's launched at 7 am it's argued that btalk is sleeping.

Get real, there's no perfect world.

I dumbed my instamine at 3K satoshi, mining again, holding 2K. Just realised it's on a mintpal.

Like I said.  People even admit to instamining it.
What do you expect? For people to say it wasnt? There was some instamining to prevent outrageous inflation and flaws in KGW during launch.

People are well aware of the instamining phase and ok with it.

I think he means "the whole market is in a downtrend". Which is totally true. Out of 200+ coins on coinmarket cap, only 10 are green in the last 24h.. so I think it's a fair statement.

When did all the alt go boom? When btc price went boom. When do all the alts go down? When btc goes does.

Alts follow btc. A very fair statement about alts would be that they are basically leverage against btc. The rewards is exponential but the risk also. In crypto where you have very limited ways to leverage, alts are great for that.

And what better than to choose the likely new home of GPU miners.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][0.8.6] Hirocoin - X11 - Secured Blockchain - Time Warp Limitation - KGW on: March 29, 2014, 01:37:02 PM
We have a couple of months to prepare and put the groundwork in before Scrypt ASICs hit and people have to find alternatives quick. There are a lot of people in denial about the impact, but then if you are in the Litecoin crowd you do not have anything to worry about.

I am getting messages from people about being added to various services which is great but the one thing missing that is needed is a wallet.

If anyone knows an Android developer who can make crypto wallets then please let me know. This is work I would commission. This is an important step if we are to get used at the counter. We have secured the blockchain so we are a good choice but need a wallet.

We must try to add Hirocoin in Cryptsy.

I think Mintpal and especially Poloniex are fine exchanges. We don't need Cryptsy.
only exchange we possibly need at this point is a China one, btc38, bter or guogao.

Too many exchanges (especially earlier early on) gives thin orderbooks which can make it reluctant to trade it.
145  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB GPU Rigs. 290's or better @ .50 per Kh/s on: March 28, 2014, 02:58:24 PM
So you want 4x 290s (1600$) + psu (another 300$) + cpu/mobo/ram/HD (300$) for 1600$?

I can do 2000$ for that, but not 1600$...

Whats the average income per mhs/day at the current diff?
easy, go on a pool, divide the mhs to 1 and then the estimated coins per day by the same number, and then convert with exchange price. Then you can count how many mhs you get x11 and how many you get with scrypt and compare.

Or unless you wanted someone else to do that for you...........

I liked the coins, but unfortunately I missed it.
You didn't miss anything. It's currently valued at less than 300k market cap, it has a potential market cap 10 folds higher easily. Most likely much more when scrypt ASIC actually hit.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][0.8.6] Hirocoin - X11 - Secured Blockchain - Time Warp Limitation - KGW on: March 28, 2014, 05:04:02 AM
My MSI Gaming r9 280x are mining with sph-sgminer (drk kernel) - am getting ~2.3MH/s per card.... not bad but I am wondering about a few sgminer stats  - after running for about an hour I got:

A = 2 (isnt this too low or no?)
R=0 (even though each card shows some R between 1% to 5%; at what point does this show up to reflect true R?)
HW = 0 (im cool with this)
WU/minute = ~0.033 /card (scrypt has this at about 90% hashrate... is this low number normal?)

Win7 64 bit, 13.12 catalyst

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
timeout /t 4
sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://site:333 -u user -p x --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://pool.com:333 -u chimbapesa.hr1 -p xmasi --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://site:333 -u user -p x -k darkcoin -I 20 -g 4 -w 64 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 11200 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-threads 1 --gpu-memclock 1800 --gpu-powertune -20 --auto-fan --temp-target 75 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 88

TEMPS: ~65
POWER: ~550 for whole system

Thanks!
everything is in check. Don't read into the accepted shares. They are weird. And normal WU is about /90. Which is great. In fact, I get 0.03 on 290s at 2.6mhs

btw look at poloniex, no volume over march 27... compare with 26
no volume = no increasing
There is never any trading going on during a FUD situation with btc. People hold and see (not willing to go exponential on their risk by investing in an alt) or pull out. Once POBC goes public, negative or positive, things will continue their trend.
yes its easy for PBOC decreasing value of BTC when ist "needed"
chinese now buing cheaper Smiley , they r gods Smiley

When do you think POBC will go public?
they responded pretty quickly last time.

My personal guess is in a couple days because the rumors probably come from somewhere, so there is probably a document that's been circulating, and the content might or might not be exact at this time but I doubt they will hasten their public disclosure because of a rumor.

Either way, sell the rumor, buy the news is always a good guideline. No matter the verdict, it's going back up.

Price seems to be falling, like grannies titties hit by gravity! Hope it rises again like grandpa on viagra! Smiley

HOLD people, don't sell for anything less then 4000, let's make a stand!
I, for one, don't mind dips at all. It rose very quickly and volatility tends to increase volume, and active markets attract traders. So in turn you get more market makers for order book depth.

I hold mine, but still hope to see voluminous up and downs. People have faith in it and it's currently extremely undervalued by like 10x on market cap, so gives us more time to get people on board so people don't feel "they missed the train".... or in this case the space ship.

Anyone else had this virus from SGminer pop with AVG?

adware generic5.aoji

Appdata\local\temp\bitool.dll
miners will almost always show a false positive. If you downloaded from a reputable source, mine away.

Yeah I figured but it still makes my balls crumble a little bit because I have had SGHminer for a month and it popped first time today

So just ignore, no "remove threat" or quarantine?
It could be a recent update to their malware database added sph. Or that it just scanned for the first time with it running. If you are really worried at all, copy paste your config to desktop, delete the miner file and zip and redownload from sphsgminer thread.

What's great in all of this is seeing all the hashrate who went into the (slight) trouble of reconfiguring their miners to mine hirocoin.  It shows not only support from buying but also from big miners.

watch your wallets
I wont download this...wallet infected with trojan and btcminer..nice

cgminer was "positive" few months ago too, btw I´m using other ver, but I have downloaded this "positive" ver. too and Avast says no problemo Smiley
miners are always shown as malware. Because of botnets its been reported by several network administrator, so consequently added to malware database.

LOL what kind of sick joke is this?

260 blocks to mature, in other words... join the hashrate on the pump but you won't be able to cash out your coins before we dump. LOL
another good joke....

Write in caps anything FUD related, makes it much more credible.

Explain the reasoning behind block mature time.
That is exchanges being overloaded because of the popularity. It takes less then 30mins usually.

Don't blame the coin for exchanges shortcomings.

Exchanges? please don't drink and post.
says the guy with a post history of 1000 emotional and idiotic posts
