541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox & Litecoin - Its all a rumor gone out of control on: April 09, 2013, 11:13:21 PM
There is a link floating that shows mtgox having litecoin api page. Not sure about that Twitter, anyone can setup account there but api page shows that they have plan to do it at some time.

Not sure it is good idea tbh, it will only confuse people who are just getting familiar with bitcoin, they don't need another WTF moment.

It's on their IRC too... Jesus people are dumb.

Not everyone worships MTGox and visits their IRC page, or even knows what IRC is*
its not because you are ignorant about something that its false.

I just can't help it but feel irony when someone calls a claim from a CEO a rumor about his own company.
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox & Litecoin - Its all a rumor gone out of control on: April 09, 2013, 10:55:36 PM
The dude tweeting about it happens to manage mtgox
This.

Those "meaningless" tweet you are talking about would be enough to put them under trouble for market manipulation. Regulated or not, that is not an avenue that seems likely.

As you state with the amount they make, why would they jeopordize with that good income for doing that kind of very obvious shady business.

Less FUD please.

I know but he wants to be paid the moment there's tracking.
Then there is no point in escrow as I am pretty sure you would receive a stash of bricks if iphis conditions.

Any excuses not to use escrow should be seen as a scam attempt. Legitimate reasons or not, that's how it is. An excuse you will often hear is "I need the cash now''. Well, he wouldn't get the cash anyways if no one is buying, isn't he?
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC at $220, altcoins crashing. Where are your AltGods now? on: April 09, 2013, 05:17:02 PM
is he afraid of LTC or jealous?

Yes, I am afraid that incompetent, short-sighted and scammy "developers" and horde following and supporting them will destroy all Bitcoin developers and
community has been building for over 4 years now. I have spent a lot of my time speaking about Bitcoin to people around me, and I know 1st hand how they
reacted on mere mention of altcoins, after being "bombarded" with Bitcoin info by myself for a while. Try it yourself, it is very useful experience. It should
reveal to you how serious the situation is.
You rational is all based on Bitcoin being bitcoin. Bitcoin was the first, and still is by far the most widespread cryptocurrency. It started as an experiment and took off. I do not dislike bitcoin in any way, but nothing says the first will be the only and last. It started as an experiment and turned out OK. A lot of alt coins have tried and failed, that's evolution, natural selection. Only btc ltc and perhaps maybe ppc have a chance at market share at the moment. Ltc is now strong because people support it. The little hater group isn't gonna bring it down now if they were not able before.

Use your energy towards your business I should say. Whatever yo're trying to do right now is in vain.
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC at $220, altcoins crashing. Where are your AltGods now? on: April 09, 2013, 04:16:29 PM
Funny how you turn a good thing into a bad thing. The fact bitcoin doubled in a week and ltc stayed at same price vs fiat shows so much resilience.

LOL, it shows that a group of people decided to invest serious money into altcoins and stick to the task, all triggered by slightly more info than a rumour,
hoping for profit later - nothing more. Better play Satoshi Dice, the outcome of the game becomes known much faster. Or try to sell Litecoin or any other
altcoin to general public - street, town, real life, forgot that? - and you'll realise that what you are building is irrelevant to them.

What is really funny is that you altcoiners think those who are using MtGox somehow don't know about altcoins already. They are just idiots with money,
clueless, ready to jump on altcoins without much thinking and investigation, right?
.You seem to think the 300 000 mtgox users are active miners and visit these forums regularly? Mtgox has reached a much more mainstream user base and the addition of ltc as a currency there will indeed show people something new.

I'm sorry but all I see here is bias with unfounded arguments. I have a hard time understand why the few haters put so much energy into hating if their main arguments are usually along the line of "ltc is not a threat".
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC at $220, altcoins crashing. Where are your AltGods now? on: April 09, 2013, 03:44:56 PM
Funny how you turn a good thing into a bad thing. The fact bitcoin doubled in a week and ltc stayed at same price vs fiat shows so much resilience. Plus... If you wanna brag about bitcoin doubling, I'll brag about litecoin going up 10folds. Even against btc. So, good try, but pretty bad result.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: April 09, 2013, 12:59:39 PM
I posted in another thread but probably will get looked past.

i just fired up my old bitcoin rigs to get solo some lite coins for a few months.

is this ok? been on for well over 2 days. plenty of rejects but no blocks found yet.. i ran it all on a pool for about 3-4 hours and got a coin in that time. so the setup should be fine correct? was a bitch to get them going on litecoins . bitcoin much easier to mine.
but this @ 650w isnt profitable at all..

Your setup is ok. Litecoin blocks are harder to get these days. When I've started, I was solving 1 block/30 min, now it's around 2/day.

How many H/s you getting?

If my 1.2 is too low ill this a go for a week or two, and then just start using a pool if its un sussessful.

i have one of my bitcoin rigs coming back soon and will get about 3.5mh/s.

He would need 20mhs to get 2/day. If he has less than that, its luck.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW PPC POOL NEEDS TESTING!!! - vpool.me on: April 09, 2013, 12:42:00 PM
Well, won't send my whole farm for testing, but how many ghs do you want, I'll send some

Also I believe its roughly 420 per block atm

Solo mining at 1.2mhs at this difficulty... You would be lucky to get a block after 500 rejects.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox to Support Litecoin - Can Anyone Confirm? on: April 08, 2013, 08:56:13 PM
BTW, it took BTC-E a single day to add two new cryptos. PPC and TRC.

It sure is possible to do it quickly in one day - but to do it properly and to consider the pro's and con's more closely, you need more time. Also Gox is swamped with all kinds of requests and work. If it comes, it will take some time.

Really?  Because trading ppc and trc is easy and hasn't messed up once since btc-e has implemented it.

Screw their requests.  They made a statement to announce more on ltc and they haven't.  Trading should be their main concern.  I can't trade ltc therefore their site is worthless to me.

Mt. Gox can't see the forest for the trees.  They make tons of money in fees and can't hire more people or get anything functioning?  I believe that is called as I've already stated, incompetence.
as I see you are still a stupid, biased, enraged fanboi?

You know nothing about running an exchange. Or how to read. BTC-E tool 1 week after announcing they were gonna support ppc not 1 day (more like 5 to be exact). Mt gox said they will make an announcement THIS WEEK. Until Friday has past, they haven't failed that engagement...

Now please shut up again

Now we have partnership agreements with new muticoin evonymus Store. If your registration number is less than 2500, you can get a 5% coupon. If you find a block on any of our pool of your coupon 10%.
Exception: miner Vuxil (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=169446.0)

I lmao'd - why the fuck would I use your scam pool again?
Lil pretty funny. Even funnier is he quoted your "opening a pool" thread.. As if that's what would legitimately make someone eligible... Some people just have the ability to dig a hole deeper when they can't get out.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Physical Litecoins by CryptoVest (Coming soon!!) on: April 08, 2013, 06:39:16 PM
i've never liked any of the litecoin designs, except these:

they were released into the public domain by aspect, and were available at http://alpha.cryptotron.com/ltc-designs/original.html (dead site now)

i know there's an awful lot of detail on them (you might want to modify it if your mint cant realistically achieve that resolution) but IMO it's by far the best litecoin design - all the others are complete shit (atleast as far as physical coins go).
Gotta admit those are pretty nice. Wonder if it really costs more to create those.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] [TRC|PPC|FRC] vPool.us - 1% fee, PPLNS - scam alert- on: April 08, 2013, 06:34:01 PM
Thanks to all who are with us.

Bad news:
Our pools are under attack. Also we recomended you setup automatic payout threshold to 0.10.

Good news:

Exception: miner Vuxil (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=169446.0)

To get the coupon, please contact us  vpoolserver@yahoo.com.
NB: evonymus is newbies, do not ask the coupon if you do not need.

Why is this thread still open?  Moderators are you watching this thread?

This pool stealing people's money!!!  The PPS equivalent "donation" is 60%  in this "scheme" so you are getting ~40% of what you should be getting on the other PPC pool (no names) that is including 12% PPS.

Why bother to mine? Just setup a pool like vpool and who needs ASICs....
Mods have a politic to not be judge jury executioner. They put a scam alert in title and in OP, that is fine with me. Anyone joining and disregarding those warnings have been warned and should be victims of their own negligence.

The current status of mods on this is fine with me.

Making all the denominations look the same is a bad terrible idea.

Please make the design of each denomination unique in an obvious way. All the coins look exactly the same except for some tiny writing. Imagine pulling change out of your pocket and every coin looks like a quarter. Nobody wants to read the text on a coin to figure out how much it is worth.

I like the L logo, but it could be in the background with a large number over it. Or if you want every coin to have a big L, make each background unique. Or you could use a different metal for each denomination.
You are not gonna put those coins in pocket and dig through your pocket to buy a bag of chips and a redbull buddy....
Yeah, you totally missed the point. Making all the denominations look the same is half-assed. It's boring. It's unappealing. It's something that a noob with no creative ability would do. It's a mistake.
post that in casascius thread and call him a noob please.
Why? His coins are all different. CoinHoarder should at least do what Casascius is doing.
They are all the same size and only recently started doing different colors/metals (well, recently in the sense that they were all the same for a long time).
Oh? Have you ever seen the Casascius coins? The 1 BTC coin is bronze. The 5 BTC coin is nickel-plated. The 25 BTC coin is bigger with different design. The 10 BTC coin is a 1 oz silver coin.
Well, I just realized, I was pushing a point that isn't even the one I'm trying to make.... Sure unique coins is something to aim at, but I do not believe coinhoader has that luxury right now and would probably come later(as casascius) (as you see he also wants silver and they would obviously need to be different from the Nicole as they are similar color).

557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CoinHoarder's Physical Litecoins (Coming soon!!) on: April 08, 2013, 03:36:27 PM
A simpler design based on your recommendations, I actually like this one the best so far: Wink

Also, notice that because I'm not making this in a 3D modeling program, my coin probably will not look as nice as the coin you guys posted earlier as an example.

After it's in its true form on a coin it will look similar... it won't actually be as colorful as this. The people making the coins will do the 3d stuff for me, I just need to give them some guidelines of a design to work off of.

Get rid of the words "One Litecoin" because not everyone can read that. Just put 1 or 1 LTC.

This saves space and simplifies because we are going to be used to seeing numbers and LTC, not "Litecoin"

I agree with Luckybit - simpler is better. Less text to clutter it, looks nice. Just compare to Cas BTC coins - they are simple, have a latin word, the mint year and value. That's it. Simple and beautiful.
I dont see how there is too much text there. Putting numerical value curved on the edge would look funky and would use too little space and look like a deserted text. I agree less is better put putting 1 ltc on the edge would be far too little.

560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are some people achieving such enormous hashrate on LTC? on: April 08, 2013, 02:08:32 PM
Some people have been mining for a long time and reinvested a lot. If 1 card gives you profit, there is no reason to not buy 100 cards for 100 the profit. Of course if you started mining in 2012 and are on an average household salary getting that many cards might sound outrageous.
