I'd buy an emptied 1BTC coin for 0.05BTC, but I'm not touching a full one. They seem a bit unsafe.
Personaly i would say that these coins are indeed SAFE. Except if the seal is missing/broken or casascius himself has saved the private keys of the coins he sends out. I highly doubt that casascius would "steal" his customers for 0.5/1 or other coins. He has some reputation

BBQ is not dead, quit joking! just synced 24hrs of blocks in 20 sec's and got 9 active connections. diff is still nice and dropped only a little on a huge FC hypa, which means there is stable BBQ userbase. Well I hope to be proven wrong I hope this too We will see for sure in about a month

Great, im gonna grab some of the 0.5's soon!
(I think those 0.5's are kinda expensive thou)

Just wait till the FC hype is over...
wait...... maybee I should start HC (Hypecoin) ?
Hahah, even if someone makes "shitcoins" I bet ALL my coins (LTC/BTC/NMC/NVC/BQC/etcetc) that ppl will mine the hell out of it. (EDIT2: they WILL trade it also) EDIT: a of the kinda dead thing, since transactions happen there is a little interest. Little, but there is some. Hashrate gone crazy the last days, also buys/sells But i agree that there is not much interest (yet(?!))

Damn, i had some more left Nvm, it was another good ride, lets hop to the next coin EDIT: Seems to work fine for me, just opened the client, synced, and i recieved some coins from the pool i was mining some days before how is it dead? Dead in market terms, they want to profit for this coin, this is why they are saying that BQC is dead. I want to profit too, from every coin(not from the new pump & dumps though). Market wise, yes its kinda dead but as soon as the exchanges open this will end

Why didn't you make fundable coins like the Casascius physical bitcoins? Every coin would have a Bitcoin address and a private key hidden inside and then they would be really backed up by real bitcoins like the Casascius coins. They look awesome regardless! If i understood his intention was to be something like a bank. Whoever had those coins would actually hold the real value(without having the priv key) of those coins to trade with other people or return to him for the actual coin value. Erm, i think thats why each coin in the pics have a different code on them (just like usd's or euros bills) I think he didnt chase it much for them to succeed and now selling them as is to cover his costs for making them. That said i may have misunderstood their point, though im gonna try to make the back side flat (the side that says "new orleans") of the coins i ordered, and print out private keys for each to stick there, just like casascius ones. If i succeed you will see a thread popping up in here in a few days

I wish they would add LTC and also XRP as well.
