This coins for charities?

Charity is a part of this coin, just as charity is a part of most coins now. Doge being the original with Olympic Fundraising.

Pinkcoin supports charity for the fairer sex.

So the more pink coin you have, the better.

When your meeting girls you can introduce them to your fondness for pink and see if it will get you some gratitude.

But its not a porn coin.

With us so far?

Cheesy

+1 Sending pink your way for this for sure!

Smiley +1000 to that definitely ! Thanks !

I'm doubling down on fay here;) Little jealous that he gets all the generous fun.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Revamped PinkCoin (PC) Pure 100% PoS | Multipool | Fundraiser | Anonymous on: May 31, 2014, 06:47:23 AM
I hate to troll your coin but I'm going to do it anyway.

First, what you have proposed for anonymity is no better than what XC or Dark have promised or implemented.

The good news is that its no worse either.

That's not saying much because the proposals of all three fail at true anonymity. The anonymity itself is spoiled by a centralized mixing layer, which is what all three depend on. Centralized mixers break the trustless paradigm and therefore are not, by definition, anonymous.

The only way to achieve true anonymous transactions is by using cryptography and currently the only working cryptographic implementation is cryptonote ring signatures.

How people can buy into the hype around these coins with centralized anonymity is completely beyond me.

Can't deny what you're saying at all. Technically what we're working on isn't a mixer, but that's not the point you're making. What we're working on is centralized, and therefore not trustless. I can't deny that in the slightest. Everyone looking at us, please take note at what he's saying here, because he's making an excellent point.

What we're trying to do is provide an anonymous option for people interested in everything that PinkCoin has to offer, and will have to offer as a whole, that will make it almost impossible to link the coins you send, to the coins that are received. Unfortunately, for a while, that will come at the cost of the trust in centralization.

Most of us involved in the project don't personally care about having our transactions being anonymous. But we do care about doing the best we can with it, because it's something our community wants, and something our community cares about.

If you do need something completely 100% trustless and anonymous, please, by all means, have a look at the great work being done in cryptonote based coins.

Thank you for your rational and honest criticism. Frankly, I don't consider it trolling at all.

Don't forget guys, we do have a multipool as well - and as underwhelming as that might sound right now, if you sign up through this link:

http://coinking.io/register.php?r=8848

A huge chunk of the fees coinking takes out of you anyway goes directly to mintpal votes for pinkcoin.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Revamped PinkCoin (PC) Pure 100% PoS | Multipool | Fundraiser | Anonymous on: May 31, 2014, 05:32:09 AM
This coin seems very good but why the price of coin is very low.

I think it's because of the name. People probably think its just another run-of-the-mill color copy coin..

It was created by the original dev to do exactly that. Ride the colorcoin wave. A few community members saw its potential, and ran with it. It was only recently taken over and brought back to life. We are quickly breaking away from this perception of run-of-the-mill color coin.
Thx for the explanation.
The picture is beautiful, yet until you guys get something to show, i will not going to trust.
A lot of coins are claiming anno these days, only the XC have proved valid, others are just smoke.
My guess is this is the new trend after POS color coins

I completely respect that. 100%. In fact, this is exactly the sort of skepticism and criticism I want in our community. We don't want pumps on smoke. It happened though, and it sucks. We'll have something to show for anon soon, but don't take our word for it, just wait. If you'd like to be involved in our initial round of testing send me a pm and I'll give you some coins that you can help us test with when we reach that stage, and when we're done testing you can just keep the coins.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Revamped PinkCoin (PC) Pure 100% PoS | Multipool | Fundraiser | Anonymous on: May 31, 2014, 01:38:28 AM
omg i can forget my order at 25
 Roll Eyes

is there already a contact to poloniex and/or cryptsy ?
i mean the both have xlb
so why not pink
promising coin

usually Mintpal will add a coin if they think their is money in it. that happened with asiacoin. no voting just queue jump

I think there is something in their blurb that says they reserve the right to add any coin they like without putting it to the vote.

As much as I like to see success, it would be big mistake for us if other exchanges added us now.

Im watching Jackpot Coin die at the moment, not due to exchanges but due to success of JPCDice, then everyone invest while everyone else loses due to gambling. No additional development, no more games. just hype.

Im looking for good strong foundations with Pink before Mintpal gets its grubby paws on it!

JPC went from 3 sat to 60 sat to 13 sat in a week

Plus I think it clicked when everyone realised that the number mineable coins is 30 billion. not very rare.

Frankly, we kind of see anonymous the same way. Sure it's the pony that everyone wants, but if that's all you're about then you're still a one trick pony. We want to send the message out that if some feature is popular and in demand, sure - we'll get on it. But we also want to be the ones to set trends, and do things that are new and different. If you think all that's coming in the short term is that anonymous site you're sorely mistaken. Our goal is to have a steady stream of actual developments. Some big. Some small. But steady, and always keeping you guessing.

We aim to be the total package, and to be able to provide something for everyone.

And don't think for a millisecond that we've forgotten about charity.

Really though, that's about as much hype as I'm going to troll out behind this coin. In the midst of the swell that's already been happening. I don't really want any part of instigating pumps on talk, I want people to be getting excited about the things we've done, not the things we're planning on doing. I consider the whole anon.pinkcoin.info thing to be an unfortunate misstep. I would have preferred for the whole thing to just work from the onset, but alas, we live and we learn. In the future we will be more careful about making sure things work properly before announcing them.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Revamped PinkCoin (PC) Pure 100% PoS | Multipool | Fundraiser | Anonymous on: May 31, 2014, 12:09:32 AM
Yeap mini whales moving in and lapping up cheap coin..When is anon wallet due? Smiley

Just poking my nose in as I don't have a lot of time and I'm updating via my phone, but I feel we need to be clear. The anon wallet integration is still a ways out. We're still at the method development stage there. What is coming is anon.PinkCoin.info, which serves now only as a proof of concept and doesn't yet (but soon will) anonymize transactions.

From a user perspective, the site will function exactly how it does now. The core difference will be that any transaction that uses the address provided by the site will be completely untraceable via the block chain.

This achieves the ease of use criteria we're after in the short term while we consider options for a decentralized wallet based version.

Problem with this:

- it's not decentralized
- the amount of PINK's that are send into the mixer is exactly the same amount that goes out, so it's still possible to link these transactions

Or I misunderstood...

#1 Right. Because it's for a website, the centralized nature of it is fine, because the website itself is a centralized option. This isn't what we will be doing for the wallet, and I'll be totally honest, anon for our wallet is scheduled much later down the line.

#2 It's not exactly the same. You still get nipped with the fees for the internal transactions, so the receiver actually receives slightly less than was sent. With that said, breaking up the the transaction and sending in pieces is something we're thinking about doing to address this problem. Fact is though, you can't positively link the two transactions if you do happen to find the send txid and the receive txid - you can only make an educated guess that they might be connected.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Revamped PinkCoin (PC) Pure 100% PoS | Multipool | Fundraiser | Anonymous on: May 30, 2014, 09:04:18 AM
Alright guys, here's where we're at. The mixer wasn't actually functioning properly, and after talking to the dev about the concept we really wanted to sever all ties from the sender and the receiver in the blockchain. This meant coming up with a completely new implementation. The dev is working on that now, as he has been all day. We should be able to test it in a day or two and we'll be looking for volunteers to test it once we're satisfied it works with our own coins. I'll post updates on his progress. In the meantime the site will serve as a concept page and effectively works as a send proxy.

Here is an infographic showing the method that is currently being implemented for anon.pinkcoin.info - though please know that it is presently not live.  It is a completely centralized method that is specifically designed to work through a website, and not among the methods that are being discussed by our team for inclusion in the wallet.

So basically we're planning to seed the sending account with a million coins. When you send your coins to the address the website gives you, it will go into the receiving account. Then the coins are sent to their destination from the sending account with that million pinkcoins we seeded into it. Over time the receiving account will fill up, and the sending account will deplete. When the sending account gets less than half full, the whole thing flips, and the coins that were pooling up in the receiving account are used to send, and the original send account is set for receiving so it can pool up more coins.

This way, the coins that you send never actually get to the place you sent them to. Someone elses coins are sent instead, and the transaction is instant. And eventhough the thing will tend to flip back and forth once the receiving and sending accounts are roughly equal in size, the oldest coins are always sent first, so there are no coins ever sitting around doing nothing. There's a constant flow through the million coin circulation system where none of the actual transactions are connected in the blockchain.

With a million coin pool, the largest transaction the system can support is 500k pinkcoins. Send more than that, and the coins will just bounce back to you - that will just be a temporary failsafe while the whole thing is still experimental. Eventually, once we're certain that the core is solid and stable, I'm thinking we can just have large sends bounce to a feeder account that will break down the coins and send it through the system in random sized smaller chunks.

We're happy to accept any criticism on the concept. We're always looking for input on things we may not have thought of and how we can make it cleaner. I need to get some sleep now but I will reply to all questions, comments, and concerns regarding this system in the morning.

Why this coin have a very little buy support instead of others SHITCOIN(Huge quantity) on bittrex?

Our anon feature isn't working properly yet. There's some more news on that coming extremely shortly. We're also looking at proactively addressing any other concerns people might have but might not have mentioned.

Bluecoin 1billion coins, 3% premine... skyrocketed over 100sats right now because their announcement of android wallet release. Now imagine the potential of pinkcoin

That's just nuts. *sigh* The annoying thing about android wallets is that they depend on centralized block-chains.

/endgrumble

Update about anon in an hour or so. Nothing to get pumped up about, just a bunch of info for now. Dev is still hard at work after we hashed out the details earlier today.

I'm happy to announce that we're well on our way to solving the problem and things are under control. I'll have an info-graphic up later to outline what's going on in the anon website to clear up any confusion on that front.

richlist?

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/pc/#!rich

It's worth noting that the big wallets that aren't staking most likely belong to bittrex.

the team should post their identity ...
always good for trust

no irc channel?
hompeage not impressive
FUD / scam accusations
i think its risky :| (first noob impression)

I'm not exactly careful about hiding my identity, so anyone particularly clever and resourceful could probably figure out who I am, but I'm not going to blast my name all over btctalk. All a google search for me would reveal anyway is that I'm an old poet, that I had a beautiful love story with my ex-wife, and that I've got the absolute coolest kid in the world.

I tried the anonymous transaction function. It doesnt't work, all it does is send the coins to a different address, and from there it comes right into your primary address, and it is all viewable at the block explorer.

Scamcoin.

I literally just discovered this as well and have sent a message to the dev about how we can go about fixing it. It's an experimental proof of concept and the dev is new to crypto, but a highly skilled and talented developer nonetheless. We should indeed have looked more closely at the blockchain and done more testing before release to double-check his work and I apologize for that. I will personally work closely with the dev to ensure proper anonymity is achieved and see that it gets fixed today. Please stand by on my word. We had no intentions of misleading anyone.

As soon as I discuss the code with the dev, and we set a course of action in motion I will put together a whitepaper explaining exactly how the anonymous function works for complete transparency.

EDIT: For clarity and transparency, from what I found it looks like the current implementation basically forwards the coins to the destination. It provides a simple mask for the transaction, but it's easy to trace back through the block-chain if you know what to look for. There was supposed to be a mixing that takes place but obviously that's not happening right now.

EDIT 2: After playing with the daemon I'm willing to bet it's a silly configuration mistake that's stopping the mix from taking place in the first place. I can't confirm that with the dev right now as he's asleep (I'm the only one awake right now apparently), and I can't make the change personally, but that's what it looks like to me.

Looks like an honest mistake, and I'm sure there are some other cool features you guys are rolling out too. Looking forward to see how this coin grows with this new team!

Yeah. So much in development actually. But we like to just drop ninja bombs on you. In the future we'll make sure to be more careful on the testing side of things before launching though. We just really, really wanted to get one of our major developments out there asap so people knew we were serious. The anon website is just the tip of the iceberg.

i think it can only mix if there are more than 1 transaction in there. i don't really know tho.

Yeah. I think he might have been trying to use the accounts feature, but it doesn't work by default in POS coins, you have to enable it and disable staking. We'll get it figured out.

I need to grab a few hours of sleep myself before the guys wake up and we can get this taken care of, but in the meantime I offer you this information for your own peace of mind:

My personal pinkcoin address is PTz9c7gsDu14FnD6tPFFUPy9rihVXH7GTx. You can see it in the blockchain here: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/pc/address.dws?88988.htm

I purchased and transferred 3.7m pinkcoins to my personal account for staking shortly after launch of our anon. You can see that in the blockchain here: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/pc/tx.dws?334037.htm

Looking at the blockchain for my personal wallet, you can clearly see that:

A) I've been holding for a while and they're not on an exchange.
B) I don't play the pump & dump game with PinkCoins. I hoard them, and occasionally give small amounts away.
C) I bought and moved coins *off* the market after the release of anon.

As part of the core team here I promise we are doing our absolute best, not only for the coin and our community, but also for the charities we currently support and will support in the future.

I don't know of any. But I can't give the definitive answer on that.

Btw please don't take this wrong, just my constructive criticism.

Can you guys design the web in a less provocative style? I know at work i'll be afraid to open the website and my co-worker saw it. They will think that i'm surfing a sketchy porn website.

Keep the color pink, but lose the women in the center. I think simplicity is better, especially for Anon feature.

you're probably right, good thinking.

Ok, she's gone. We're looking at other options to give an 'anonymous' feel, but for right now it's just pinkcoin:D
