Whilst I have to confess to loving the name of the 'Pink Entanglement Engine' and being impressed by the use of creative writing to describe it, one does have to ask, is there a technical whitepaper or, at the very least, a technical layout of what this anon system is?

For all the people talking about how they can't understand why the price is so stagnant, I'd like to point out, this was a rescued coin, it is tainted and, while the marketing and graphic-design boys should certainly be proud of the work they have done in making this coin's 'innovations' look stunning, the cryptocurrency scene is littered with coin projects that were all mouth and no trousers. The coin-tech has to survive scrutiny by it's peers and, only once they announce something along the lines of, "Holy shit! That's really clever", will you be able to demonstrate there is value here.

Linking it to a charity was nice, but anyone can do that, many coins already do, to no great avail. What the market is hungry for is technological innovation that sets a coin apart from the others. Personally I don't care about anon right now, although I might do in the future, I'd rather see an innovation that enhances the usability of a coin, something that changes the landscape of the crypto/fiat battleground.

A wallet that incorporates electronic fiat, one where deposits into it can be made by credit or debit card, or online bank transfer. *That* would blow people's socks off.

Just thinking aloud.

Either way, as things currently stand, this coin is lacking evidence of innovation and nobody with any sense is going to invest in it until they can be satisfied that this isn't just really well marketed hype for a clonecoin.

I'll get to work on writing a whitepaper. In the meantime, the original working infographic, and all the information I provided with it is still valid.

Mind, this post was while we were working on it, and hadn't branded it or completed a working version of it yet.

For what it's worth, the article on thedailypinkcoin describes what's technically going on in an easy to understand, entertaining, non-technical way that almost anyone can understand.

http://dailypinkcoin.com/blog/innovations/anonypink/

And really, anyone hung up on the moon illustration being 'unbelievable' should really take a step back and ask themselves if crypto-coins are actually coins either. Really. The moon-earth thing is just an analogy designed to point out just how far apart and unrelated the coins you send and the coins that get received will EVER be. It could be North America and China. It could be London and Paris. It could be the Sun and Alpha Centauri.

The point is that the Pink Entanglement Engine creates a temporary and fragile link between two unrelated accounts, and that link is destroyed forever the moment it gets used.

Hi,

I would like to send some coins to the exchange, but as it seems to be Staking, I don't have access to the full amount.

I have closed and re-opened the wallet (it is unlocked) but it still holds quite a bit in Staking. How do I make the full amount available to be transferred from desktop wallet to exchange?

Is there a command string I need to enter in the console?

I'm sorry I'm not the technical expert, sumgye is but he's sleeping i think.

from what I understand your coins require a certain staking age to mature, mint new coins which is ~8 hours. you will need to wait it out until they finish staking, I think there is a way to turn off staking in the .config file under %appdata%\roaming by adding a line "staking=0" but I'm not entirely sure so please don't quote me on that, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can help me out.

Basically the coins that you are staking are busy securing the blockchain in exchange for the interest they received. They will be available to you again after 510 blocks from the time they started staking.

If you need to keep a balance reserved, go to help>debug window and type 'reservebalance true [number of coins you always want to have on hand]'

If you'd like to turn off staking entirely, open your pinkcoin.conf file and add a line that says 'staking=0'. If you don't have a pinkcoin.conf file, you can create one. On windows, that file needs to be in %appdata%/pinkcoin

None of this will immediately give you access to the coins that are currently staking. But it will stop more coins from being staked in the future.

It's that time again... About to halves soon...  Cheesy

What block does it halve at?  Does it go from 25 to 12.5?  thx

Every 42000 blocks.

So 84000

dead! like the pinkcoin Grin

Lmao.

Sorry, I couldn't resist the laugh;) I don't know about YesCoin but I do wish Bigman all the best on his endeavors. As far as I'm concerned, he was honest enough not to put anything tricky in the PinkCoin source and was kind enough to close the original thread and direct people to our relaunch.

I can say that he does deserve a bit of credit for keeping his name and not creating an alt for his coin. Everyone deserves a second chance, I wish him and Yescoin all the best;)

I knew he figured it out by watching the transactions. Someone did a similar thing to the XC anon feature, but instead he was bragging like a dick about how big of a hacker he was. He got exposed really fast, because he couldn't post the direct link on the blockchain. Congrats for the guy that found a way to get his 1M...

Agreed. There is a workable solution for this but it requires updating the wallet (no fork or anything). The plan is to do the whole decentralized anonymous wallet thing later once we add our own personal 'touch' to the wallet, if you will, but if people are reasonably happy with the centralized mixer at the moment, we should be able to stick a feature in it that will hide the original send amount in the blockchain sooner rather than later without too much trouble. I'll have a talk with the the other devs and see about coordinating that.

Hi,
sry that I am posting this so late. It was me and my friend who got that huge 1M reward Smiley And I want to thank PinkCoin for this great opportunity.

Here is the proof:

I can tell you it was really hard to get right TxId to unzip wallet.dat and it needs a lot of luck Smiley And it was not Brute Force as you all thought Smiley We were trying to find similar amounts of PC in trasactions back in time started with reciever TxId mentioned in instructions: b4b1f622cd96c00637fdd88fe344631f1837d69a34ed5ffb1b8928baf2412e6c

And as I can remember it was 112 transactions back in time Smiley

At the end I want to say only this:
Anon is a great feature and it was not cracked in any way - It works like a charm Smiley
And of course PinkCoin is the best Wink

Awesome! Congratulations! I had a feeling it might be a collaborated effort based on where the money's went:D *THIS* is exactly what we were hoping to achieve with the contest. Getting some new people involved and excited about PinkCoin with a giant treasure hunt that could actually be found before someone could code a brute force attack for it. We're trying to raise interest here. The anon system works, and we all should know it by now. We were just trying to have some fun with it and draw some interest!

The devs need to say something ASAP.  To the investor community (who don't understand the real passion behind the coin) you all claimed to have anon and after an hour someone proved this false.  People are dumping on Bittrex now.  This is what happened to XC.  Their tech I guess works, maybe not, maybe is done, maybe is still a work-in-progress and their forum is wishy-washy and not definite from a quick look and their value just isn't recovering.  At least Pink hasn't attracted a "conga line of trolls" as someone once called it.

lol most of the posts before you are the devs.

It took 8 hours for someone to complete the challenge, not 1.

To boot, now that the sender's Transaction ID is posted, I dare anyone to prove a link between it and the received coins. It just can't be done. There's just no link.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Revamped PinkCoin (PC) Pure 100% PoS | Multipool | Fundraiser | Anonymous on: June 06, 2014, 08:17:01 PM
Hi

So now what do the dev's do?
Do they make the anon feature much stronger and will it take a week/month?
The price unfortunately went down a bit, because the anon feature got broken.

Lol, if it was broken the wallet would have been cracked in minutes. Not 8 hours. Nobody actually traced the transaction with even 10% certainty. There were only two ways to actually get winning transaction id: 1, search through the blockchain for similar amounts that had been sent and try each of their transaction ids (there was over a hundred to try across a span of about 40 blocks in the blockchain), or 2, as noted above, collect a list of ALL transaction ids in the block chain and brute force the zip with that.

Nobody actually cracked the anon feature. It was all a block explorer egg hunt!

LOL... that was fast Smiley

Yeah, I had my doubts it would last THAT long;) But we got a good 8 hours out of it! Haha!

I'd like to invite the winner to post about how he got it and regale us with tales of his mad skills! Will post the correct transaction ID for everyone for everyone to check out in 2 hours;D Big thanks to those who participated!

As promised, here's the secret send's Transaction ID and also the password for the wallet: df0747f88896537b2ba91ef2b48f1833506d8c555cdef05358705a9dc301b24a

Thanks again everyone for participating in the challenge!

So someone could have just read all the txids from the blockchain, put them into a lookup table and tried each one on the zip? That shouldn't have taken too long. Lets hope this person chimes in on how it was done.

Yeap. That's definitely a possibility. It's part of the reason I didn't go too far with the anonymizing process I took to put it all together. Wanted someone to be able to do it by hand before someone could just code a script to do it for them.

Just wait til the txid is posted and you get to see all the addresses it could have been;P

Damn.... I was hoping for atleast a good 3 days Tongue Well, as a consolation if it was brute force using all the tx id from the explorer, it would have no real implications and still means the anon is solid. But if its not, I too would love to know how he figured it out Smiley

*snicker* Well it wasn't impossible. I did it in about an hour when I tried. But it made my brain bleed and I had to try dozens of hashes to find the right one, and I knew where to look in the blockchain:)

Where do we check to make sure the anon feature was really cracked by you?

Oh no, I didn't participate in the Millionaire Challenge. I don't have it. I'm the one that put it together in the first place (!). But I tried the challenge a few hours after I put together the zip to try and see if I could figure it out myself without cheating, though I did know the techniques I used to hide it in the first place so I knew what to look for. Still took about an hour to find the right one.

If you can't figure it out, feel free to share the zip with your friends, and keep a copy for yourself that you can check later. Be sure to read the file 'Information.txt' for important information on how to win and see if the prize has been claimed yet!

Once the prize is won and the contest is over we'll post the transaction ID of the original send so that *everyone* can check the transaction in the blockchain and unlock the zip and access both the wallet and the anon.txt that provides verifiable information on the technique used to hide the transaction.

This isn't an impossible challenge! It was never supposed to be. It's just supposed to be difficult! Someone will find it, guaranteed! The question is, how long will it stand before someone does? What other team has such confidence in their anonymous system that they're willing to put a prize worth over 1btc if you can *guess*, with an unlimited number of guesses, where a transaction actually came from. That's way bigger than making it impossible to create a reliable link between the sender and receiver. That's making it virtually impossible to find the original send in the first place at all. That's more than anonymous. That's insane.

Yeah, you stole this idea from the XC thread, but go ahead and say it's your idea to make a bounty.

The XC team put over 1btc worth of coins in a wallet, zipped it with the transaction ID of the original send, along with verifiable information contained inside of it, and threw it out into the wild?

I saw the bounty that atcsecure put out to find where a send came from some time ago, and I highly respect his work. He is a phenomenal dev and a world class artist of a programmer. But nothing about his system or the bounty he offered was stolen from him, and any similarities are coincidental and completely unintended.

We're not saying it's an impossible task either. The goal isn't for it to be impossible, or make claims that it is. It isn't impossible at all. The goal is to get the community involved and have some fun with the whole thing.

Edit: "say it's your idea to make a bounty."

I wont say that. Because it's not true. There's nothing original about offering a bounty. We were just aiming for a cool execution;)

This quote is from the anonymous transaction soft launch post 2 days ago:

"We have waited long enough for the pinkcoin anonymous transactions.

And though we had planned on having the whole team online to let you guys have it. A few of us could wait no longer.

So we will just call this the soft launch until the rest of the team gets on and goes nuts with the marketing."

Have plans changed regarding marketing? Do you want to remain under the radar for now?

I'm not sure what you mean. We are not under the radar anymore. We got on poloniex today, and the trollbox is flooded with people going ga ga over pink. We're also in the top 50 on coinmarketcap and the volume on Bittrex is at an all time high of over 180 BTC.

That's all great news. I'm just not sure what marketing is being done by the team. It seems like mostly word of mouth right now. That's all. No harm intended.
