 Was having issues with my power supply. Followed advise from http://reprap.org/wiki/PCPowerSupply#Base_Load and attached an ancient cdrom drive to molex. Without the base load the ATX was powering off every few minutes (it was stable if running single blade). Now with cdrom attached to molex its been up for ~20 mins. (fingers crossed) |

Mate, take a look around...all got the miner already...and for buy you must understand, is not a factory like apple. Just a few ppl, so they can't produce 10.000 pcs on one day. I order 2 pcs today, at taobao without any problem.
Sorry but I doubt it seriously as there are just one single record of sale on their Taobao store for today (26 November). Besides, my Chinese friend's guess was that all people who are buying from their taobao store are just showing off and are probably from their own team. I posted http://imgur.com/a/gJarn few hrs ago. Make sure it's dedicated +12V line but before doing that, make sure you have the jumper cable set on the motherboard power connector. Otherwise, the PSU's own computer think the PCI and PCI-E are not being used and will not send the +12V power. You can try powering up just 1 main Blade. If it powers up 1 blade, at least you can keep mining while you go get your new PSU. Oh, also, if you are just powering up 1 AntMiner only, you can use 450W and up! I butchered the pci-e connectors, put into one blade. Butchered the cpu connecters, put into the other.
The ATX kept shutting down after cpl of minutes. Then re-enforced with more wires from molex (using extenders), same thing. Happened in the past as well when i was trying to use many fpgas with this PSU... Its single rail 550W psu (it claims +12V to have 528W output)
I guess im going shopping for proper PSU... perhaps one of those dedicated 12V thingies.
Yeah the jumper is in place fine.... currently i disconnected the second blade. (both power and the ribbon). First blade is running stable. I guess tomorrow ill but a decent SMPS. |

I didnt get the tracking number yet... but the units r here!!! had to pay < $50 tax to the ups man (im in Thailand)
Now need to find power supply. Honestly did not expect getting it this week.
In case anyone is wondering about customs, each unit is valued at $120 and is labeled "computer accessories"
Dell server PSU PE2950 will be a good choice... I have 1 650W ATX that im gonna butcher in a bit. then go shopping... I have limitations in choice of locally available things... Please take attention that you have to make sure that the LAN interface is working in "DHCP client" mode, before you change the WAN IP address.Why not set the miner in dhcp mode by default? That way n00bs wont have to fuss with networking settings... Questions (as buyer late into the scene):- What microcontroler/computer do you use? What OS? is it tp-link with dd-wrt? Does the miner have dhcp client inside? Is their API to change settings, pools, monitoring, etc? |
