1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual molex to dual PCIe 8 pins safe? on: October 19, 2017, 02:20:42 AM
After almost completing my install. I ran out of connections. I know you can’t use SATA so I need more molex connectors. Is it ok to run these dual connectors? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XB7PWB6?tag=tablog-20

I haven't use this type of splitter yet. however I do use SATA for risers without any issues, just ensure it is connected to 1 on 1 setup, 1 riser to 1 sata without splits.
1402  Economy / Speculation / Re: I do not have the guts to buy bitcoins now. on: October 18, 2017, 04:03:35 PM
I do not even have the courage to buy Bitcoin. Although I believe Bitcoin a lot.

Sounds not equal, you don't have that belief if you don't invest on it.

1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Rig sees radeon 290 graphics cards instead of r9 390. why? on: October 18, 2017, 02:52:32 PM
Hello guys.

A strange thing is happening.
I've put my R9 390 Nitro 8 GB graphics cards on my rig and I've tried to mine.

The strange thing is that claymore sees different cards...
It sees Radeon 290 3 GB instead of R9 390 Nitro 8 GB and after that an error appears and it stops.
I have reinstalled the windows, the AMD driver but the same error appears. why?

Try to install GPU-z and check what type of GPU that has been detected by your system, normally the miner see's what your system's GPU registered.

Best altcoins to mine right now, any suggestions?

best coin profitability will always depend on your GPU types, here is the link of online profitability calculator, it is not as exact as the actual but at least the nearest for your reference.

1405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: October 17, 2017, 02:12:33 PM
Am giving up on the Gigabyte Aorus rx580 8GB(hynix H5GC8H24MJ)! This card is hopeless.

I am trying to get it installed and perform well on a win10 rig with 2x1070 and 4x1060 cards thats already running stable.

I UNINSTALLED MSI afterburner beta 19.
I then boot in safe mode and run DDU to remove AMD drivers and prepare for card installation.
To make sure it's not a power issue, I removed 2x1060 cards from the rig.
I installed Gigabyte Aorus rx580 8GB(hynix H5GC8H24MJ) and booted into win10.
I installed the blockchain driver(driver only, other options unchecked).
Next I installed the atikmdag patcher.
Next I rebooted and then installed MSI afterburner beta 19.

I checked MSI afterburner beta 19 and found that I can't modify core voltages.
I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 1100 -cvddc 950
result: 24Mh/s 100W(gpuz power draw) and temps rapidly climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10) even with fans at 80% and 950mV was IGNORED

I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 1000 -cvddc 950
result: 24Mh/s 90W(gpuz power draw) and temps rapidly climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10) even with fans at 80% and 950mV was also IGNORED

I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 900 -cvddc 950
result: 22Mh/s 85W(gpuz power draw) and temps rapidly climbing 79C(terminating claymore10) even with fans at 80% and 950mV was also IGNORED

I installed sapphire trixx to try to undervolt.

undervolt by: -156mV
I tried running claymore10 with: -mode 1 -platform 1 -benchmark 145 -tt -80 -tstop -79 -cclock 900
result: 22Mh/s 80W(gpuz power draw) and temps stable at 69C with fans at 80% and vcore:0.89mV

running higher core clock regardless of undervolt results in temps climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10)
anything at or above 85W (gpuz power draw) results in temps climbing to 79C(terminating claymore10)

this is all done with stock bios. help???!!!

modify them, it has now a lot of tutorials on how to do this, it could help lower temps, power consumption and higher hash rates.

see this topic.

1406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How Often do you Check Your Rigs? on: October 17, 2017, 01:20:26 AM
I just monitor them at the pool whenever I have the chance or online, I am looking primarily at their hash rate, when it goes offline it notifies me thru email, when somethings is not right like drop hashrate it is visually detected at the pool then I can go remote them for checking.

1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 470 MINING EDITION AT 45 Watt? on: October 16, 2017, 12:56:06 PM
I am looking to add 2-3 cards of the RX 470 Mining Edition to one new rig I am building. I was browsing at ebay and come out at the picture below, the seller had only 9 buys and 0 sells although 100% positive in feedback. Can 45 watt bring you 30.5 Mhash as if this is for real I am buying right away one card today ?

No, I haven't seen anything like this before, seems like scammy to me. a stock RX570 has at least 75w at the wall in idle mode, so basically I will not bite that information.

1410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Memory errors on: October 16, 2017, 08:57:21 AM
Hi all

Can someone tell me the effect just a few memory errors will have? If claymore is not getting incorrect shares is it ok to have a few? Should I be downclocking to avoid getting any at all?

I appreciate a lot of memory errors will cause incorrect shares but if I am not getting any can I just ignore less than 75 errors a minute in a few cards?

Info appreciated!

A few errors is tolerated, but the main goal is to have a very minimal to none errors as possible for better mining efficiency. it is not only the incorrect shares involve but also your hashrate and your GPU life preservation.
1411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taking Courses to learn about Bitcoin on: October 16, 2017, 08:51:17 AM
Has anyone taken a course online on sites like Udemy to learn about bitcoin? I just received a coupon to enroll in a bitcoin course for free. Would it be worth the time?
If anyone has any experience, do share.

If the course is for beginners level then don't waste your time with it, I am pretty sure you already know what is going to be taught in the class and might be boring with you. You already learning here an actual hands on learning, from bitcoin humble beginnings to its peak, how it dips and how it rises, involving some political, social and developers point of view
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem with MSI Z270 A PRO, with 7 GPU on: October 16, 2017, 06:53:01 AM
The motherboard apparently mine for 20-24 hours, then freeze mining and ssh is un reachable (connection reset by peer).

The only way to control again the system is to power cycle

Temperatures of the gpus are quite high and they start and stop to cool down, could this be the reason?

probably yes, there is a temperature limit to each miner with the default values when not configured, the miner has watchdog that reset or restarts the app in order to avoid GPU damage. same is true to OS, I bet you are using a unix/linux base system as you do SSH.

1413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.0 (Windows/Linux) on: October 16, 2017, 03:59:27 AM
I have asked some times bwfore but cannot see  an answer   Sad
I am using Claymore  9.xx on my rigs.. Now I am wonder if 10 is full stable now?

Yes, I've been using it for a couple of weeks and no problem so far

Quote
I was using 9.xx with WattTool settings and mining Expanse because of Dag-problem
If switching to 10 should  I make settings in miner?

Use blockchain driver, that could solve your DAG issue

Quote
I need set  underclocking of core/ oc mem and undervolt both
Will it work?

some cards may not work, some guys here able to do it by using certain version of after burner.
1414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining need help on: October 16, 2017, 01:55:07 AM
hello guys. so im having this issue with my mining rig. which its always having a freeze/Hang time everytime i open my afterburner. it will only take around 10-30minutes before it freeze itself.
nicehash legacy miner
im using 2xPalit1070
afterburner setting:
power 80
temp 80
core 100
mem clock 500
fan 80

i hope you can help me guys.

Just to isolate, what will happen if you don't open your MSI AB and do the mining? or tried to set at default values? check your error logs in the miner, and see any abnormalities on your hashrate or GPU cards.
1415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to check sol/watt in ZEC miner claymore windows version on: October 16, 2017, 01:49:23 AM
Hello
Does any one know how to show sol/watt report in claymore miner?(or similar report)
I manage to find the sol/watt functionality in EWBF miner by adding -pec however can’t find the same in claymore. I tried to google it but seems no good result.
  Can some one help?

Watts you can find out in GPU-Z, i don't think that Claymore has that option built in hi software

It has only remote monitoring or management feature, Just type in -mport -3333 into your .bat file and browse it thru http://localhost:3333

works and useful to me
1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's miner ETH fee removed (Win 64bit only) on: October 16, 2017, 12:46:14 AM

**5. Why did you do this?**
I made it for my own use because I wanted to try if its possible or how hard it would be. It turned out to be doable so I did it and used it for few days myself and then I decided I would share it.
I have rewrote it to make it useable for all users and make their mining easier. I have added about 60% code to check for stupid things users may do and much better error handling to ensure your mining will be absolutely flawless.

I guess you know what is proprietary CopyRights Infringement? you want us to involve with your illegal ways. better take it to yourself

The "ethical" issue of this thing..
If you have problem with this and you think this modification is not ethical. I have to say if Claymore didn't make milions dollars monthly of your 1-2% fees I would have agreed but in this case NO I don't think this is problem.
I doubt he could even notice! Why? Well I left a debug feature for people just like you this feature shows Claymore's wallets and show them in your miner console. So you can check his wallets and see for yourself how many bitcoins he make daily.
He has many wallets on many pools here is just one of them there is maybe 30+ of these you can look them up yourself. https://etherscan.io/address/0xc1c427cd8e6b7ee3b5f30c2e1d3f3c5536ec16f5

That is the fruit of his innovative and support approach, I am not actually defending claymore as I know him or not, its juts that he deserves what he got for writing friendly user miner.

why don't you wrote your own miner? there are open source ready for modifications out there.

1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Goverment is not recommending to use digital currency such a bitcoin? on: October 15, 2017, 03:56:00 PM
Yesterday I red article regarding digital currency. The article aim to discourage us in using digital currency as these currency is not recognize by our country moneytary institution. What do you think is the reason why  some goverment are discouraging its citizen to use digital currency? Any thoughts.....

Some Governments try to conceal its true purpose why they don't recommend it to its own people, they're like preachers pretending a very well concern to its members but in true form, they only want your taxes, they can't control bitcoin transactions and so with identities from which to which, they only want to tie rope and with your neck and forcely do tax in every fiat's movements.

1418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser issues on: October 15, 2017, 03:15:00 PM
The thing is if I plug one graphic card into a motherboard on the same slot, it works, but then when I use the risers, the graphic card doesn’t even start running.
In this case, the risers are apparently defective. Because the wrong connection usually burns the motherboard or gpu

No, wrong connections includes incomplete connections setups, and won't burn GPU's or main board or whatsoever, just to ensure everything is connected properly before judging a faulty riser, all 6 risers aren't working so probably something is missing on the setup.
1419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on single Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti on: October 15, 2017, 03:10:26 PM
I bought Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti few days back for the purpose of mining only. I want to ask you people What coins i can mine on 1080 Ti with decent returns? and what is the best mining software for Nvidia, i am currently using CCminer 2.2.1 and mining verge (XVG).  Hoping for good answers. Smiley Smiley

they are good at ZEC, I usually mine steadily for it, currently using EWBF 75% power limit and +38 Core Clock in MSI afterburner, I'm more keen on power saving over hashrates.
1420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser issues on: October 15, 2017, 02:45:00 PM
I’m a newbie. I bought 6 riser cables, none of them seem to work when plug into a working gtx 1070 graphic card. When I plug the graphic card without a riser, it works.

If possible kindly post pictures on how you do the connection, it is much easier for us to know if its properly connected or not, a picture from PSU to risers and GPU then Risers to Motherboard.
