I strongly engorge reading up on these 2 world views, when you see the world for what it is, you can begin to understand what the point is.

That word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Quoted for awesomeness.

they would need 88 chips. That sounds very unlikely to me...
For a Chinese designers 88 would be a doubly prosperous number or joy number. Sounds likely to me...

Wow good point!  That would be a pretty cool thing to design into/around.

Need to find a better a usenet server that doesn't keep losing content to DMCA!

news.individual.net

everything except groups with binary content.

So basically a useless usenet server!
1405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Development Status [Batch #1] on: December 16, 2012, 12:38:21 AM
It's not unlikely at all... depending on power factors, we estimate between 64 and 128 chips per device.  88 is an odd number (not impossible of course), but given the propensity for the Avalon team to like nice round figures, I suspect a multiple of 8.  My thoughts are they are going to have to go with more than 64 chips to overcome the particular issues they haven't run into quite yet.

Ah crap, I totally forgot to look under "Bad dystopian science fiction" for more wonderful writing by Hannah.  My mistake, thanks repentance!  Hmm... maybe we should be looking at "Harry Potter Fanfic" for some more great missives.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that Mircea and Hannah are an item and that's how she got the job.  Makes a bit more sense now.

1407  Other / Off-topic / Re: And some more delays in BFL shipment plans / no shipment before 14th Jan 2013 on: December 15, 2012, 05:41:35 PM
Wait, so are you saying he/she/it is actually Hannah Wiggins, a hack freelance blogger that has written nothing of import ever, and written nothing since 2010... And what has been written is about type faces and vector graphics and all things graphic design.  Of course! This person is an "expert" in business strategy and finance?  Oh, silly me... of course, with credentials like that, how could I have doubted MPOE-PR's credibility?

Anyone tried bitusenet yet?

Hey, where'd you hear that?  Why wasn't I informed of this?  Argh!

PS - My job is not PR or investor relations, which is why I don't coddle idiots like Frizz and PuertoLibre when they display their stupidity over and over.  If I were the PR guy, I'd have to tell them warm fuzzies and make them feel good about themselves.  Thankfully, my job is much different and it involves firing "customers" like Frizz et al because they cost far more than they generate in revenue and we do not want them as customers.  Ever.

Awww, isn't he cute when he's trying to be me, all tough and shit?

Inaba baby, need moar tits. Tis a tough job.

God forbid, I would never want to be you.  I would have to lose about 150 IQ points and slobber on myself after taking a shit.

BTW, why did you steal your avatar from Hannah Wiggins?  (http://aext.net/author/hannah/)

Glory to People's Republic of China
where your comments are deleted
and nobody cares.

Egads. BFL's public image would be in much better shape if someone would follow behind their always angry foul mouthed COO deleting those posts. It's difficult to envision anyone being less well suited for an executive position or interfacing with customers/potential customers.

Unfortunately, there's no deleted posts and you are lying again... so explaining to you why you're an idiot is warranted.  Of course, it's a full time job correcting your lies.  Kinda sucks, but someone has to do it.  If you'd would only stop lying, I wouldn't have to post constantly.

Contrary to the opinion of various ... individuals ... around here, I give you the information and dates as we currently believe them to be... but that's what openness gets us, more hate for missing dates.  We keep quiet and we get beat up for not being open, if we are open, we get beat up for not being accurate.  It's a no win situation, maybe I should follow W.H.O.P.R.s advice.

Meh

Frizz is magic that way.  And by magic, I mean retarded.
1413  Other / Off-topic / Re: And some more delays in BFL shipment plans / no shipment before 14th Jan 2013 on: December 15, 2012, 02:33:50 AM
As Josh's role in the production cycle doesn't begin until it's time for the chips to be sliced and packaged, it's easy to see that he mightn't have been kept up to date on every little thing which has been going on up until now and has been making statements based on assumptions he's drawn from what information was available to him rather than hard facts.
Seeing as Josh's role is Public Relations / Investor Relations and not head of slicing and packaging I find it hard to believe that he was left out of the loop on that one. Seems in his role at BFL he should be made aware of all those pesky little details....

Hey, where'd you hear that?  Why wasn't I informed of this?  Argh!

There are no deleted postings you fucking idiot. Show me one.  Just one.   Christ, how fucking dense are you?  Seriously.

Those two posts you quoted?  Guess what... STILL THERE and ALWAYS HAVE BEEN.  Idiot.

Maybe you should restart your browser.

23 comments. Only 8 are still there. So 15 got deleted already. Now that I call censorship. Even the BFL asshamsters seem to wake up and post some nasty stuff Smiley

BFL ASIC Delays - An In-Depth Explanation

Anticipation is running high at Butterfly Labs in advance of receipt of our chips from the foundry. The production of these very dense, hand-routed chips are the reason for the delay in the latest line of bitcoin mining machines. Unlike our competitors, Butterfly Labs ASIC chips are 100% custom. Producing custom chips requires foundry scheduling and forces us into the queue with other chip developers (from all industries). The design is complete. It’s just a matter of waiting for production and delivery. The boards, enclosures, and assembly teams are standing by, anxiously awaiting delivery of the chips so we can begin assembly and start shipping.

"The design is complete". Wow that's a relief! You intended to ship in October!

"It’s just a matter of waiting for production and delivery". That's what your explanations, excuses, lies have been all about in the last couple of weeks - so nothing new here.

Our competitors are facing worse challenges.
Recent posts from the bASIC and Avalon groups have outlined redesign plans and delays for their chip and board. When a road map doesn't exist, let alone a trail to follow, it can create situations that require extra time to develop solutions throughout the development process. Butterfly Labs has been down this road before and we anticipated, long ago, the issues that bASIC is now facing. The reality is, this technology does not exist anywhere else in the world. It's not as though you can go to a big box electronics retailer and buy this technology off of the shelf.

The same "OK BFL sucks - but the other teams suck too" we have heard a million times before from you at BFL.

The ASIC miners are revolutionary machines that will render most, if not all, graphics card miners ineffective and cost prohibitive. ASIC miners will not be eclipsed as quickly and significantly as their predecessor, the FPGA units. They are meant to be a long-term investment. Their performance should be sustained for at least two years and potentially as many as five years. That is not to say that there won't be improvements over the next few years; there will be. The improvements just won't be the night and day difference of the ASIC vs. FPGA technologies.

rarara ... now that's just some plain marketing crap. No useful information at all!

"BFL ASIC Delays - An In-Depth Explanation" ... seriously BFL, you call this an In-Depth Explanation?!?!

Summarized: BFL ... WTF?

Of course Frizz is lying again, either that or he's too stupid to figure out what pagination is.

Yes folks, it's true... Frizz23 so lacking intelligence that he can't figure out what the | PAGE 2 of 2 | <<FIRST < 1 2 | mean at the bottom of the page.

HERP DERP DERP!  There's more than one page?!!?!

I just love how you like to make shit up.  Or are you too stupid to figure out that you're only looking at one page of comments?  Probably the later.  Herp Derp!  There's more than one page?!! ZOMG.

Stupdity at it's finest, Frizz, thanks for reiterating the fact that you're an idiot.

I am going to maintain a separate database for the two share types and just work off the current paradigm.  It is going to make things more complicated from a coding perspective but it is what it is and I don't want to end up creating more controversy.  I think once I get all the code in place, though, it will be fine so long as I don't have to maintain it regularly and I shouldn't.

There's one more non-trivial shareholder that hasn't checked in.  As soon as they check in, I will email everyone and if you want to change your BTC deposit address, that's the time to send me your new address.

After that, I will send out a bulk payment for back dividends and resume normal payment schedules (which will likely be increased to more than once a week).

Just curious how the months of November and December add up to 4?  By my count, that is two.  Even if you include all of January, which is unlikley, that's 3.  So where does 4 come from?  Last I checked, 1 + 1 = 2 and 1+1+1 = 3.
