Liberty dollars were against the law because they used the word "dollar" and the same symbol ($) as the official currency of the country. This is VERY different from bitcoin, which is 100% legit. Lots of currencies around the world say "dollar". The fact they got him on the "$" symbol, is a far cry from the message the FBI put out about him being a " domestic terrorist". If someone mistakenly uses your trade mark you deal with it with a cease and desist notice.

So much easier if you just produce some mining software that copies the wallet.dat and key logs the users passwords Who in their right mind would trust mining software from people who run scam pools anyway? Don't keep your wallet on the same machine you mine on... EVER!

Bernard von NotHaus, created his own fully gold backed Liberty Dollar and this is how the FBI dealt with him... “ Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism,” U.S. Attorney Tompkins said in announcing the verdict. “ While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stability of this country,” she added. “ We are determined to meet these threats through infiltration, disruption, and dismantling of organizations which seek to challenge the legitimacy of our democratic form of government.” http://www.fbi.gov/charlotte/press-releases/2011/defendant-convicted-of-minting-his-own-currencyThe biggest threat to Bitcoin right now is an ASIC monopoly that only sells in Bitcoins. This means only people who already own ASICs can mine enough Bitcoins to buy more ASICs, which will lead to a huge reduction in the number of network nodes.

Would be nice if they put a web cam live feed in their lab then you could see if they were working on it.

Sadly ARM only design and license, no fabrication = no product. Shame, because I'd have liked to see a British company compete.

Get an old PC off ebay and stick some 5830s/5850s in it and you'll be gaming & mining for <$400 total.
But if I have a budget of $1500 for a new build, will going with a 7970 give me much better results? 2x Ati 5830's are 520-600MHs (depending on overclock) for $180 Dell Core 2 Duo Tower PC XP $85 Total = $265 Leaves you $1235 to for the Butterfly Labs 60gh/s $1299 ASIC later. (okay u gota find another $64 by then but you'll mine that in less than a month) Having a cake and eating it.

It's probably just an illegal trick traders use called a "wash trade"
You sell hard to flush people out of their positions and buy back once you reach a target price.
As this exchange in unregulated expect a lot of trader tricks as hedge funds move in.

It's an old (illegal) trading trick called a "wash trade". You put a huge sell order in to flush out trades then follow it with a larger buy order mop up the cheap sells.

Also user Arvicco is looking to sell his FPGA farm I think too.

Mine hash at.. 80w 250MH/s reference 860/1200 clock. 100w 300MH/s stable 1050/1450 overclock with no volt mods.
Why would you OC your RAM to mine BTC? I see no power difference measured at the wall by underclocking the memory and as it's used for gaming, it's a hassel to keep changing it. What about temps? I notice a -3C difference switching from 1500 to 950, and then another -2 or -3C going down to 410. I think my OEM Sapphire 7850 2gb Dual-X are self power saving. They wouldn't work on AMD drivers, ran at half clock/mem speeds, only work correctly with Sapphires own drivers.

Probably buying an Avalon ASIC you need 88BTC and they don't take fiat money.

Sorry about that I copied it from an old post someone asked me the same question a few weeks ago. Entropy-uc has a huge FPGA mining farm, someone might as him if he was interested in selling any.

don't volt mod and they will be fine.
I run 2 at 1050/600 and they do 600MH/s
I always recommend the twin fan versions though for overclocking, leave the fans on Auto.
Right click your desktop, choose AMD Catalyst, choose Overdrive, and see they give you the overclock tool right there (voltage locked).
Disable the crossfire they run a little faster as two seperate cards. You might need to install AMDs OpenCL drivers though.

I haven't seen anyone with realistic expectations saying that bitcoin will get to $100,000 per BTC this year. Have you? Not realistic but Max Keiser with an RT audience of 550 million is telling the world 1% of global trade = $100,000 bitcoin. If we had 1% of world trade a day wouldn't be long enough to sync the block chain and the system would fall behind on processing transactions I suspect. Already the blizzard of micro transaction from Bitcoin betting sites is enough to mess Bitcoin up.

I suspect it will be running screaming hot, noisy and will have no headroom to overclock!
7790's 896 Stream processors is less than the 1024 stream processors in the 7850
It's the same price as a 7850, trust me get a 7850,
The chart is bullshit saying a 7850 does 232MH/s

add 100w for the system.
If they are really getting 250MH/s for 38w that would be amazing, but the specs say 85w!

Besides having one in each room to provide free heating from waste power..
..in the past I've used it to heat a tropical fish aquarium and a lizard vivarium.

He created a gold/silver back dollar, and when they checked, he had every oz he claimed was backing it! $7m worth! (which they now want to seize)
