14041  Economy / Digital goods / Re: {Selling} $25 Amazon Gift Card for $20 on: January 04, 2015, 09:05:46 AM
Nope. Move on to your next scam. Your gift card is likely stolen and/or purchased with a stolen credit card

Does anybody know if amazon gift cards purchased with stolen credit cards work on amazon.com ?
They will work however you will end up responsible for covering the amount of the gift card if you spend it once it is determined that it was purchased with a stolen credit card

I doubt he is selling a stolen giftcard with a 4% discount lol but you probably will not get any bites with a discount less than 10%
Anyone that creates a new account in order to sell a gift card is going to be selling something illegal period. It does not matter if they are offing a 4% discount or a 94% discount

You are going to want to make your program  open source and in a language that is easily auditable. This is regardless of your ban status. Very few people (only suckers) are going to download/use your vanity address program unless it can be independently vetted.
14045  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering Short Term Loans on: January 04, 2015, 02:21:59 AM
All reasonable requests will be catered to.

-----
To apply, please post the amount you wish to borrow, collateral, interest %, and how long.

Communication is key.  If you happen to DEFAULT or know that you will not be able to make the full repayment on the loan, PM me right away and we can try to work something out.   Your post will have an 'IN QUESTION' tag on it until resolved.  If you bail or I come to the conclusion that it cannot be resolved, your collateral will be collected and negative trust will be left.

-----

Not to nitpick, but,  either post negative trust or collect the collateral not both, collateral is used to secure a loan so that there are no negative repercussions from not being able to pay the loan. What you are doing would be like a bank who gave you a secured loan and you didnt pay the payments but they took your security deposit and paid the loan then gave you a bad mark on your credit score. SO for me I think you should have to pick one or the other either collect the collateral or leave negative trust.
No. If the lender fucked up and did not take enough collateral then the borrower is still on the hook for the difference between what he can quickly sell the collateral for and the amount owed. The only exception to this would be if both parties agree in advance that it would be a no recourse loan when the collateral would be used to cover the loan and the borrower would not be held responsible for the difference
14046  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 1.0 BTC (will pay $100 extra Sunday Morning) need the BTC tonight!! on: January 04, 2015, 02:16:00 AM
Okay, I need to find a trustworthy escrow to make this work! Hopefully I can find one that actually knows what the value of the Gold / items on the account actually are
No lender should rely on any 3rd party to give them the value of collateral. The lender should determine that himself.
Update?
Figure out how much collateral you need to secure the loan. Until you can do this you are guaranteed to end up loosing money
14047  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 0.02 Loan - Short Term on: January 04, 2015, 02:04:27 AM
I've tried, sir.

Tried, and failed.

No loan for you.  In fact, if anyone was stupid enough to loan you given your trust, that person should probably get negative trust for being an idiot.   Undecided
No. This is not correct. They should get negative trust for attracting more scammers to our community.

Ever since there have been a select few people being given a chance on loans that realistically should have not been given a chance, we have seen a huge influx of newbie loan scammers that do nothing but waste lenders time and discourage legit borrowers from trying to get a loan.

This results in lenders not being able to make legit loans at a reasonable interest rate while maintaining a reasonable level of risk
14048  Economy / Lending / Re: Offerring loans :0.003 to 0.04 btc [For Anyone] on: January 04, 2015, 01:59:16 AM
rikfredsy, your loan is now past due.  Please post a status immediately.

Question to the community -- if loan is defaulted, should I turn over the escrow
account to the lender?   I'm thinking it would be appropriate to do so 24 hours
after the due date.
No you should not wait. Once the borrowed is one minute late the collateral is the property of the lender. I personally have an automatic 5 day grace period (it is easier to receive repayment from a borrower then to sell a bitcointalk account most of the time) however this is up to the lender as to what he wants to do. Unless he agreed to something in writing prior to to commencement of the loan it should be reverted back to the lender. If the borrower repays prior to him being able to sell the account then he can always give the account back to the borrower.

Dogedigital should be much more conservative in giving loans as he is almost certainly lending more money to scammers then the collateral that he is taking (via escrow)

How did I know he would just disappear...
Hes bought another or multiple accounts, that should've been obvious by now.

Of course multiple accounts as the show must go on...
Still here though.
I've been thinking of buying some for all these good sig deals popping up...haven't yet though.

Curious what "deals" did you get for your accounts?

5btc total for the lot.
Going out...everyone enjoy their evening.
he is trolling. He didn't buy any accounts. He was offering ridiculous low amounts. No one would have sold at what he was offering

My questions are is there anything that can be done about this? Is it possible to track this kind of behavior? What is the appropriate way to report this kind of activity?

I doubt there would be anything that could be done. Sure, this can be tracked by admins, but theymos has said before that a user's IP address would not be revealed unless forced by law.
Theymos/BadBear does not have to reveal the IP addresses of any account. They have used (likely IP evidence) in the past to connect multiple accounts to one person.
I would say that it is pretty likely that mods/admins are aware of this (people who spend a significant chunk of their time moderating user are likely to have noticed this) and spreading awareness of this problem may actually hinder rather than help (more people will realize the effectiveness of this and might try to use this method).
I don't think you should try to sweep problems under the rug, doing so prevents the open discussion of an issue to potentially find a solution

I would send a PM to stunna who owns/manages the site or MICRO who is a moderator they can probably take more effective action then anyone on here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=81292
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=224248

Stunna and MICRO can hardly do anything to control these scumbags.
It would be better if someone awards him a negative trust so that people can be more serious towards what are they going to open.
They can ban his IP address (if he isn't behind a VPN/tor) or report him to law enforcement if he is trying to steal from their customers

14056  Economy / Lending / Re: loan with collateral needed loan 1.23 btc on: January 03, 2015, 03:27:15 PM
I somewhat doubt that a gaming account is going to be worth ~$400 to anyone. When(not if) you don't repay the lender is not going to be able to sell it for the loan amount.

How is it that you were in need of .1 less then 24 hours ago and now only need .055? Where did the other .045 come from?
14059  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi's on Bitcointalk.org on: January 03, 2015, 03:07:43 PM
The forum does not moderate potential scams. If it were to do so if it were to not moderate a potential investment or trade and such turned out to be a scam then the forum would have essentially endorsed a scam.

As you pointed out there is no way that investment can be legit and any reasonable adult will likely come to the same conclusion. Anyone investing should know they are playing a game of musical chairs and will likely lose their money.

You can report it via the report to moderator button on the bottom right of a post however the action taken will be the report being marked as a bad report if you are reporting it because it is a ponzi/scam and it has broken no other rule, and is posted in the correct section.

Thank you for your clear explanation. Too bad but understandable. I guess people will have to learn the hard way. Only upside to that is that people who learn it that way really learn something..... The other day I saw a post from someone in one of cloudmining-scam-threads, who invested more than he could afford to lose in order to earn money for medicine for his dad. Harsh lesson that surely will not be forgotten.
If he lives in the US then the medicine will most likely be socialized as you can get health insurance very easily under the ACA that has certain minimum coverage requirements. I don't think the lesson will be remembered.

If that person did not gamble in a cloud mining operation then he probably would have gambled it somewhere else. If he had invested in a "legit" cloud mining operation then he would have still lost money because of the fact it is overpriced.

IMO if you have money then you need to act like an adult, do your own due diligence and use common sense. This forum allows young people to register (they do not ask your age) however the target market is older people who are adults.

(P.S. were you talking about hashie? If you were they were affiliated with AM1 and were endorsed by your signature as of several weeks ago)
