But if you would install different hardware, you power consumtion will rise, and so will your electricity bill.
If you pay more than 7-8 cents/Kwu, it's almost impossible to mine anything i'm afraid.
I'm going home right now, so if you have more questions, i'll try to answer them on wednesday (next week)

ok then, i think i am a little bit to know more now, and thank you very much for your explaining me. btw, be careful on your trip, and send my regards to your family. once again, thank you very much.
14042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie with Gridseed on: April 01, 2016, 02:00:38 PM
if you only need a practice or experience with mining better pick some not very active but working altcoin, join the community and try to promote it, there is many alive altcoins with small communities. IMO that's the most possibly profitable use of low hashrate miners.

like what for example? i don't know much, sorry.
14043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie with Gridseed on: April 01, 2016, 01:51:54 PM
i am paying in a month about $22.60 we make it $23 in US dollar, and this is for whole electricity we use ( my family house )

i dont have much money right now.
14044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie with Gridseed on: April 01, 2016, 01:39:18 PM
hmm yes i look at your edited link, and somehow i only curious about learning mining with this ( i mean i only have gridseed ).

and yes, i know now that if i continue mining with gridseed, i will lose much than i can imagine, geezz

so is this the reason for you to stop mining? or do you have another hardware which best than gridseed?
14045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie with Gridseed on: April 01, 2016, 01:27:57 PM
ah i see then. yes, i am wrong in wattage.

so, for the result from http://www.coinwarz.com/, EMD has to be the low level diff, maybe if i make a rank, it should be like this :

1. EMD
2. 42
3. EMC2
4. CAP
5. SPOT
6. SEXCOIN

hmm, maybe EMC2 will give good result, i think. digibyte has more high diff rather than 1-6 rank i made it.

unfortunately, i didn't know about how to calculate when i decide to buy gridseed. and for alt coins, like ltc or doge, can you give me some advice, where pool that do not require high diff?

gridseed couldn't handle if the diff is high, i mean when the diff is up to 128, then the gridseed will need more more time, but if the diff is low than 128 like 32, 64, its need time but not take too long.

14048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie with Gridseed on: April 01, 2016, 12:52:15 PM
now i am trying with old cgminer 3.7.2 on p2pool.io, i don't know where i get this, i just only try.

here is what i've got now

so in your opinion, better to mining scrypt like ltc or doge with gridseed rathen than to mining btc?
14049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Newbie with Gridseed on: April 01, 2016, 12:44:01 PM
hi all,

this is my first thread and i am really sorry if my thread was not in the right place.

any body here using gridseed gc3355? if there is any, where do you mining and what coins you mining?

i am really stuck with my gridseed gc3355, and i don't know what to do with. i am trying many pool, even is that btc pool or altcoin pool but i am not get good result because that almost every pool will need high diff, so i am stuck on this, gridseed is fine if the diff is below than 128 but for up to 128, its give up.

my gridseed work fine. to mine btc, gridseed gives 4-5 ghs, and its run in hours and so, and after that, i don't know how it could be, the hashrate increase until reach 11 ghs, and the i've got message "Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart" and its still like that until few hours and then its start mining again with 3-5 ghs. for this, i am using cgminer 3.8.5, i don't know if i am using cgminer 3.7.2.

and if to mining ltc or other scrypt, i've got 300-340 khs. but its really confuse to select what to mine.

i am buying this gridseed is wanted to learn how to mining btc or alt coins with hardware, and i don't have money to buy high-end hardware like s1-s7, so i choose gridseed to learn mining.

so, if there is anybody here using gridseed, even is just 1 gridseed, can you give me advise and teach me to use gridseed more properly?

thank you for your help, and once again, i am really sorry if my thread was in the wrong place.

best regards

me

its forking the same as halving?

No.

That, and Monero doesn't have halvings at all. The block reward drops a tiny amount with each block.

so forking is drops of block reward, and what its mean for the rate? is this gonna up or even the worst gonna down? i am sorry, i need more explain, i am newbie of this. thank you

The forking has nothing to do with the block reward. It has always dropped by a tiny amount with each block.

The only difference the fork makes with respect to blocks and rewards is that target block time (currently 1 minutes) will double (to 2 minutes) and the current reward per block (currently about 6.75) will double (to about 13.5). The alert will notice this means no change in the rate of supply.

so the rate will be cheap than now, right?
