ArtByte is two years old, so the blockchain is large at this point. So for new people just joining, it will take a long time to sync. I recommend just letting it run overnight and you should be fine.

How about allowing only 0.1% new artbytes per year after the first 8 years for maintenance?

The coin is still paying out for mining. Here is where we are in the 10 year schedule:

Block 500,001 — 1,000,000: 400 We are now here, and will be for the next two years, than it will halve again
Block 1,000,001 — 1,500,000: 200
Block 1,500,001 — 2,000,000: 100
Block > 2,000,001: 20: Approx. 0.005% per year

What about that block explorer?

Thanks for your comment. I know you have been a long term supporter of ArtByte. As we have discussed, our focus with ArtByte is gaining real user growth and focusing on the user experience, so all our development efforts support those goals. We define users as the artists and art lovers who actually use ArtByte to support the arts, on a regular basis. Those users have no interest in a block explorer, but are most interested in our expansion of art markets and support for artists.

Our success depends on long term real user adoption, not crytogeek speculation. To me our focus is what makes ArtByte a long term investment with real potential.

Thank you for sharing your vision of ArtByte.

I agree very much with ArtByte's dedicated focus on the artists and art lovers. However, you must not forget that you have more than just this one type of user.

Like it or not, the people who trade the ArtByte token, and the cryptogeeks who speculate on ArtByte, are also users who support your network. I honestly think you should not ignore this group of users. Without them, ArtByte as a token would cease to exist, and you might as well be running on the Bitcoin network instead of having your own blockchain that doesn't recognize its miners, traders, and claims to not require a block explorer because "your users have no interest in a block explorer".

If your only users are the artists and art lovers, and specifically NOT the ones or "geeks" who mine & support the network, I highly recommend you drop the coin and focus on your platform instead.

What purpose does the ArtByte token or coin have then?

Here is a link to a post I made on LinkedIn explaining the purpose of ArtByte, its competitive position, how it benefits artists and bitcoin ecosystem investors, etc.
I think it will explain to our supporters on this forum, more about our strategy and what we are doing.

We have actually completed two years. ArtByte (formerly AppleByte) was launched on May 1, 2014.

Our focus on gaining real users in the community of artists and fans gives us the base to continue our growth.

Polo delisting...

I just heard of this on this forum. I have received no notification from Poloniex, but did see it on their page. I am contacting them to find out what is going on.

In the mean time, remember the ABY is traded on Bittrex as well:
