I heard that some large sellers and shorters are entering the market, over the last year the mining output of USD has significantly increased, needless to say the banksters who borrow their customers' money on speculation of a rapid USD price fall.

This isn't meant to be a 'Dhuurr put all your life savings into Bitcoin!!' post or anything, I'm just curious as to why so many people here are shocked that people are buying at current prices yet fiercely defend accusations that the price will drop. So, if you truly believe that Bitcoin prices are due to rise, and you are holding back from actually buying (if you have money to invest) then what is stopping you? What do you know? Legitimate question! Because most of the long time bulls on this subforum should have already went in when the price was below $32, at the current price any purchase could probably only add very little to their holdings. What's funny is that this thing has become some sort of a ball game: only professional players are left on the field, others just sit in a pub drinking and watching, cursing, etc.

The Yuan is about one shake away from total failure as a currency as more and more of it has been printed and injected into the economy, which is essentially all debt based, and the check is coming due. Once their giant debt and housing bubbles explode, it will likely set off a chain reaction off the burst of all other economies as China's import needs are slashed as this megaconstruction will cease to exist in an instant, putting their global suppliers out of business. Those laid off employees will be unable to afford their homes, the mortgage bubbles around the world will implode, sending several industries spiraling out of control under loads of debt. This would fuel the Healthcare, student debt, and housing crisis brewing in the US until it has no choice but to default, rendering the USD worthless instantly. The Euro has already been teetering on edge, and a full collapse would spell the doom of Euro also. We'll all watch the entire world tear itself apart, setting the stage for possible martial law across the globe, maybe the first step to the New World Order or something similar occurring (Joe Biden used the exact words New World Order a couple days ago, as have many other Presidents and VPs over the years, what do you think they meant?), under the guise of benevolence. Hope for the best, but DO prepare for the worst, as many leading economists as well as the super wealthy elite are running for the hills, and that is not a good sign. I've never been much of a Doomsayer, but all of that above is happening right now and can be checked factually, and a lot of smart people see it coming, http://www.thebubblebubble.com (predicted the 2008 crash with accuracy) Get some BTC, as it might be the only currency left on Earth actually worth something soon. As the technology is robust enough to be rapidly deployed on computers and smartphones, it may well be our financial Jesus as it vacuums up the damage and converts it to a debt free economy. Once all other currencies vanish in the fire, so will the debt of those currencies. We would all be free on a cash based society again where we are our own banks and the Governments and banks lose control of the money supply. Back in our hands where it belongs. Other countries are getting away from the Dollar as it's value is inflating and probably will more rapidly as time goes on now with USD debt spiraling out of control. So no, it's not looking good...2013 could very well bring literal financial doom to our doorsteps around the world, unless something is quickly done about it 5 minutes ago. I have no faith that it will be fixed because at this point statistically and by the numbers, we as a global society cannot repay our debts in full, ever. The only choice is to start over and admit failure. There is a coming currency war, and Bitcoin is our big gun. Bring it on I completely agree, this post was also for finding out if anyone else around here have the feeling that the gauge have changed from; "world economy going for another squash the next two years" to "total disaster within two weeks"? After everything I have seen in the last few days, as I moved from learning everything I could about Bitcoin to everything about current world economics to gauge Bitcoin's future, I almost wish I didn't know what was coming. We are headed for the end of days, enjoy your life right now, literal and philosophical war is on the horizon. I've never been one of the End of the World guys, until now. It will only take one small conflict or bank failure to send it all out the window now. I am absolutely starting my own bug-out bag with my next paycheck and starting to shift assets into Bitcoin along with my own mining op. That is how real I think this is, and I hope to whatever God would hear me I am wrong and just waste my money. Depressing and exciting all at the same, strange feeling isn't it?

0.02 bot is ridiculous
SOOOOOOO ridiculous... if this bot, or one of these bots it yours... you are screwing it up for everyone else. Just ignore it, it's irrelevant. The lag that they cause isnt. Someone is bringing Wallstreet styling trading thinking gox can handle it. In the real world, the exchange would have to handle this. Lets see if Gox's update will fix this, or break everything. But in the real world they don't operate 24/7 and have daily limits.

Christ, how about a quiet day for a change guys?
Yup, can we delcare a day of ceasefire? But it seems to be a reverse Byzantine's general problem--you don't know if the guy on the other side of the hill is going to attack before you.

Chinese are setting the standard yet again. Americans == babby tier traders
No fair, thats not really a good comparison .. Asians have gambling in their DNA! lolz Rest assured Americans, your money is safe in your banks and unlikely to get lost anytime, until we decide to buy them with our bitcoins. Rest assured Chinese, your US dollars are safely in your banks where they can be inflated into worthlessness when we turn on the printing presses. We are actively converting them into bitcoins when Fed and its pals are out there doing the job of maintaining this good old delusion of dollar invincibility and everything is OK, have some patience, it won't be long...

So if Bitcoin dropped to $100 a lot of margin positions would close and the lenders would get their money back.
However, has MtGox lag been taken into account? If the price drops the MtGox lag will delay Bitfinex closing those positions and then suddenly all the lenders lose our their money, and not because of a "black swan" event, but rather a 50% drop that may happen any day now. I fully expect Bitcoin to recover from such a event but all the lender USD will be destroyed because of MtGox lag.
Is this a valid concern?
Yes, it's, in fact, I remember Raphael somehow considered this the greatest threat to Bitifnex's financial position. They are trying to create a unified orderbook grabbing orders from all major exchanges so as to maximize their liquidity.

I look at potential. Bubble means way overpriced versus actual potential. Bottom line: I will only get nervous way beyond $10,000. Remember Amazon, went from $18 at IPO to $1,200 peak. That was just a company. This is worldwide and accessible for billions of people. Yes, you may save this for posterity What's more important is Amazon or Google, or Facebook had an IPO price which was not ZERO, had they offered their stocks for free initially, you would have seen much crazier growth(or "bubble") then what we are seeing now with Bitcoin. Bitcoin started at exactly zero price, unlike any financial instrument ever, that's the reason why the price skyrocketing is so astonishing: what happens when you divide the price by zero?

Ian Bakewell was lucky he didn't scam me. ATC seems to be making an effort to pay according to John's texts, he's just got a shit luck it seems, so I'll give him a break. The problem is, even if you start working your ass off the moment you receive your loan, and decide to pay back as soon as possible, maybe even pay your first instalment with whatever you get just a few days after you take the loan, bitcoin still would not forgive you for daring to go short against it. The kind of "round the clock" bitcoin price increase will probably breakdown most people mentally within a few minutes after they take a BTC loan, and if not, within a few days.... Don't lend in BTCs, it's not going to end up well for both the borrowers and the lenders.

He's indeed going rogue...
I won't let him. I have a window open with 400+ of his friends, acquaintances, colleagues, his dad, mom, cousins, ect in case he tries to unfriend me. -Satoshi forbid me from getting more ideas. He seems like a nice guy so hopefully it won't come to that. My only concern is this massive rally making it difficult for him to pay it back. I've checked his profile, more than likely he'll be able to pay it back. He just made a terrible call. Sorry, I fell asleep. Yes, I went ahead and sent $300 to a friend of mine and shes supposed to do bitinstant for me in the morning. Ive never used it bef ore and dont know how reliable it is (last thing I need to do is lose a bunch of $) so Ill be waiting to hear from her in the morn. If all goes well Ill just purchase the remainder in btc from them and send it your way. I also got a new medication thats supposed to stop the bloody coughs, so hopefully Ill feel better by morning too. Gonna get some sleep and be in touch asap with the results. Yup, Ian Bakewell was actually a nice guy as well...

New bie question What's this queue ? It's how many people are waiting in line to use MtGox. To be clearer, it is the number of people who want to move >$5k per day into gox or >100 BTC per day out of it, less the number of SEPA depositors, +/- all the fuzzy exceptions which gox only knows the full extent of. Actually $10k, I asked them.
