1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can 1 Bitcoin buy in your country? on: October 25, 2023, 07:04:01 AM
Currently in my country the price of Bitcoin is a very huge sum of money and it is worth 44 million naira plus and this can buy a house, a car, etc.
The house is worth 19 million naira while the car 3.7 million naira. One bitcoin in my country can be used to start up a small business like super store, sales of fruit or perishable goods. That can in turn produced more income, to buy more assets.

Congratulation mr zasad@ this is indeed a great achievement, the reason I called it a great achievement is because, the 4k plus merit you hold shows that you are not a shitposter nor a spammer, only good quality post are worth meriting and you are a good contributor to this forum.

The more useful content you publish, the more merit you will receive.
To do this, you need to choose a direction that interests you, study it and share the information received, and not try to be an expert in everything.

Honesty speaking this is the best advise I've had so far since I joined this forum. Thanks zasad@

1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Accumulate Bitcoin More Effectively In Any Market Zone on: October 20, 2023, 12:15:09 AM
Every other thing with Bitcoin accumulation comes after a good source of income, if you are not financially stable, your Bitcoin accumulation will not be that effective, you will be sluggish about it because you are to also survive financially while buying Bitcoin, the best advice I can share with people is to find a good source of income first, how and when you will start buying Bitcoin comes after.

Some people get tired of accumulation after a while, maybe because it looks like the bull market isn't coming soon, a close friend is presently behaving in such a manner right now and I am the only one cheering him up to be strong, it seems most people are like this, they get tired along the way too quick.

Most likely they need to adjust their position size - or at least maybe the amount that they are putting into bitcoin.. because maybe they put in too much in the beginning.. and sure they could also be in the negative if they front loaded at higher prices and then even if they continue to buy, they are not able to bring down their average cost per BTC below their current average cost per BTC.

Well said JJG, I would never recommend a beginner to invest much at his initial level, reason being that, at that level the investor might not have the ability to make decisions using his knowledge rather than emotions, at least the person should apply DCA with smaller amount before graduating gradually to accumulate with higher figures. I will also recommend knowledge before diving into holding, and knowledge without application is as good as waisted efforts because, there is no need for learning at the first place if you'll  discard all that you've learnt when the time for applying them arrives, it's wise to ask experienced persons questions, so you'll learn from practical individuals rather than reading too many articles that has misleading solutions to your question.

Honestly, it's best to prepare yourself for the bear market before it even get started, make your money in the bull market and wait for the bear market, divide your money into three for three long years of possible bear market, and use those funds to DCA monthly as we gradually go through the bear season, things don't just get easy, you prepare for it.

Sometimes people conclude that they prepare for the bear season by selling, and sure, I am not really opposed for selling on the way up, but it can be a bit problematic to be selling on the way down.  And, another thing with selling is that frequently there are needs NOT to sell too much too soon.--- especially if you consider yourself to be in BTC accumulation phase, and maybe you don't really have a lot of bitcoin, so it would not even make a whole hell of a lot of sense to sell much of your BTC, especially if you are really early in your BTC accumulation phase.. .and only you (or each one of us) can determine much BTC that we believe that we need based on where we are at in life and other personal circumstances.

Here is a post I saw a month ago where a bitcoiner was advising other not to sell their coins the way he did.

But still it will not affect performance fatally enough if they continue to buy to be able to balance a structure in better planning in the years to come.

I have seen cases where by people buy so much coin and within a short period, they came back selling them, not because they've achieved their goal but because they applied the wrong strategy at the wrong time. I am not a fan of accumulating with lump sum as it can easily tamper with your emotions, especially when you are a beginner.

1427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 18, 2023, 04:48:41 AM

The strategy that I am describing is pretty damned close to DCA, especially since I was doing it on a weekly basis.  Let's say, for example, I had a budget to buy bitcoin of $100 per week, and it was for 26 weeks (which would be $2,600 for 6 months).  And if the beginning of the week is Monday and the end of the week is Sunday, maybe I might identify a couple of the dips through the week or maybe I would be waiting for dips that did not end up happening, so by the end of the week (Sunday) I would use either the whole $100 or whatever parts were left to buy at that time.. of course, the beginning of the week could be chosen as any day.  and each week there was a new $100 authorized, and let's say that  I felt that I did not have time to watch the market, so maybe I would just buy or maybe the price opens at $28,500, and I would set my buy order at $27,820, and if the order did not fill by Saturday, then I would just market buy or maybe set the buy order within $50 of the current price so that I have more confidence that it is going to fill before the end of the week.

Ohh, now I see your point, the strategy you employed is actually DCA, the only difference is the fact that you wait for the dip before accumulating more, its not a bad one but its time consuming as it requires constant watching of the market, so assuming your targeted price is not meet for the week, do you add the amount to that of next week or you'll abandon that weeks accumulation?.
Reason I asked that question I believe there are times where the market just goes sideways without adding or removing any large significant amount to the market for up to  a week, and in such cases I don't think your strategy would be able to accumulate for that week. I am a very busy person, not sure if I would be able to adopt the system, but I'll love to make a trial for a month and see how it goes, but my modified strategy would be, if my buy target wasn't meet for the week, at the end of that week I'll just buy irrespective of the price, so I will not be tempted to skip accumulation for that week.
1428  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CBN lifts Forex(FX) restriction on 43 items on: October 17, 2023, 06:19:23 PM

Just like what the immediate CBN did on the issues with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in Nigeria,  he made a hasty decision by blocking banks from carrying out direct bank crypto transactions and this has limited a lot of development in the area of blockchain-based development and digital creation within Nigeria.

The decision of our leaders most times are not being reasonable due to the some fact that they'll benefit from it, they just removed the FX restriction on some item we hope they also remove that of crypto currency.

1437  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Making bitcointalk writing much easier on: October 12, 2023, 08:38:02 PM
My brothers I carry one update come wey go fit help reduce stress of adding special character for our post dem or thread, though some persons fit kick against am because dem dey write directly for this site, but this tactics na for those wey dey do their writing outside this forum den transfer am after dem don finish, because writting inside this forum some time go make you feel like make you give up some times.
Reason I say so, this thing don happen to me many times, wen I don write enough thing to post sometimes my hand go mistakenly touch refresh and before you go know every thing don go, wen I give up to do my writing for this forum na wen I been dey translate one fillippone thread I don almost Finnish naim the page refresh, omor I wan ves spoil my phone that day but i just hold myself because na only me for still face the consequences, so because of that one I com go download note pad wey get undo and redo should in case any mistake arise.
So the update I dey carry come na like this, those wey dey write for digital note, na to just write all the most commonly used command for one page of the note then pin that one for the first page, for easy asses so when you wan use dem na to just go that place then copy am go paste for where you dey write.
This na the way I arrange my command dem:

Code:
1. [b]  [/b]
2. [url=  ]  [/url]
3. [url] [/url]
4. [quote] [/quote]
5. [list]
    [li] [/li]
    [/list]
6. [img width= height=] [/img]
7. [code]
etc
[/code]

So you fit copy the command go past for your note pad so that when you need am na to just extract am from there. This na image on how I take package my own.

And also the fastest way to take edit your post na for this button wey dey for right bottom corner of our post,  na the image be that. E go make us make easier and faster edit to our post rather than using the main edit button.

1439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 09, 2023, 04:44:53 PM
For sure, it seems that the dip from $30k to $25k is over.. but not easy to say with certainty.. since we are currently in the middle of the range.. so no one can really say for sure that the dip is over.. and that $25k support might not be broken to the downside.

It is hard to bet either way, even though sometimes people act as if they know, and then they tell you "I told you so," after the fact... but I doubt that they really know with any level of confidence that maybe at best might get into the 60% to 70% arena before all the events end up playing out.

One of the reasons I love this forum is the fact that you'll see people with the same mind set, issues and same goal to achieve... For the past 5 days, the price has been in a sideways trend at $27k, though I cannot tell if this is the ultimate dip before the halving, but some bitcoiners around my residents still think bitcoin will go as low as $15k before the halving, and they are still waiting for that to happen before they accumulate more coins but my advise will always be, buy now this might be the dip before halving.. Predictions might go wrong, especially when it comes to Bitcoin, but they never concur because they made a prediction I kicked against once, but it later came out favouring them.

because whenever I invest with it, even if the price goes down, I won't sell it because the price will rise again It is not like trading in which you will lose all of your funds if you lack knowledge about bitcoin trading.

This is exactly the fact that keeps me going, no matter how bearish or sideway the trend may look, I still keep the believe that it will rise again. However, a bitcoin trader cannot lose his fund due to lack of knowledge about Bitcoin when compared to that of a forex trader, but shallow knowledge about Bitcoin on the other hand can still make a trader to sell his coins at loss when the trend goes bearish.
