14381  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: April 06, 2020, 03:06:52 PM
So I finally have three screen shots properly set up to show what happens to everyone when a big miner come here.

MrBYtes  is a 200gh or 400gh miner.  A small miner.

My 16yLHLoey....  address is 9th still pretty small

first photo is  is my large rental  just firing up

second photo shows how my large rental  affected even the biggest miners
a drop from 2.3940238 to 2.39267655  the true payment number dropped for everyone during this time period. and my hash rate does not show the rental yet.

third photo shows them start to recover as my rental is ending, I show 1.74ph which is already ended but not reflected in the hashrate stat.  it is reflected in the derp as derp is growing higher for miners.
14382  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: April 06, 2020, 02:23:51 PM
Some real price movement we broke 7000  and are at 7104

diff is up 5.1% with 380 blocks to go.

Can't complain.
14383  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Complete Newbie on: April 06, 2020, 01:59:24 AM
Is that breaker in Canada (I saw some french words)

I am not familiar with that style.  So I will stop all advice from me.

Just be sure  the cables are fat enough to handle power.  Melted wires will happen if breaker can handle 6000 watts  and wire is mare for 4000 watts.

and those miners really suck.  S9's would have been far far far far far and away better to use.

My advice is get rid of those miners don't run them and find a decent s9 deal.
14384  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: April 05, 2020, 10:17:23 PM
I am going to try to figure out the drop.  But  if a giant comes along and mines here with 10,000 x your miner it will lower you quickly.

I can think of no other reason then we must have had a big miner failover for an hour or two.

You seem to run 200gh to 400gh an s-1 or an s-3

My bigger farm has 2ph or about 2000th or about 2,000,000gh

This pool is running about 1ph or 1000 th to about 1,000,000gh

so if we are 200/1,000,000  when you run your gear and you power off  you should drop since you don't do your numbers 24 hours, but Maybe less then you did.

REMEMBER the entire network is monster big.

100eh  or 100,000ph this pool is 1ph  so if a bigger farm rollover to here and tosses 1eh for 4 hours  it is like our pool mining for 1000/6 = 166 days.

So while you are turned off  for 5-10 hours and some monster pool is here it kills your average and your derp drops.

keep you miner going don't stop for the next few hours.  I will rent a ton of hash and point it here.  You will go backwards due to my monster rental.  the whole pole will go backwards a bit.  this will take me an hour to setup.

I sent some funds to nicehash once they clear I will rent a ton of hash and everyone will roll backwards the then my one address

14   16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr   9.05TH/s   9.13TH/s   12.6TH/s

this will soon be at 5ph  giving me about 5/6 of this whole pool.  everyone else will go backwards unless they add a ton of hash.
14385  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Complete Newbie on: April 05, 2020, 09:50:51 PM
so the machines do 20th each and use 2200 watts each correct?

I will pretend you have free power  since  they suck at power savings.

It would really help to know what you purchased

Do they have a built in power supply?

etc.

you will be needing a 50 amp sub panel with 3  20 amp breakers. or a 50 amp sub panel with 2 30 amp breakers.

you managed the get a very bad power usage at 2200 watts.

and 3 pieces .

I could go into details but 6600/.8 = 8250 watts  is the minimum  rated you should plan to do

that would be 3x 20 amp  or 2x 30amp if I were you I would feed a 4 gauge cable from the house breaker  to a 4 breaker box

with 3x 20 amp circuits   leave a circuit open.

the main panel would have to have space for a 60amp breaker that feeds to the sub panel in the shed.

I have no formal training so don't trust me.

Please find a good electrician  that knows your codes show him what I wrote and ask him if it will work.

good luck as I take zero responsilbity if you don't do it correctly.
14386  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: April 05, 2020, 05:17:43 PM
~snip~
Meaning it took me 109d 4h 59' 34" in order to reach the threshold for Sr. Member rank (and, respectively, I obtained this achievement with 56d 8h 45' 15" before the date when my activity would allow).

In addition to my previous post, today at 17.24:21 I just reached the necessary merits for becoming a Hero, while I'm still a Full Member, having a merits vs activity ratio of 2.12.

As my first merit was received on Friday, Oct. 25th, 2019, at 11:55:50AM, it means it took me only 163d 5h 28' 31" to earn the Hero threshold, earlier with 240d 7h 8' 59" than the moment when my activity would allow me (I'm supposed to reach 480 activity on Dec. 2nd, 2020 at 03:33:20).

Given the above mentioned details, I still believe that the rank-up should be a bit more difficult.

Interesting concept. The problem is when a new guy comes around and earns merits quickly.  correct?
14387  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most trusted members (DT1, DT2, DT3) on: April 05, 2020, 04:19:10 PM
Well, wonder know how many "used to be trusted" members are kicked from the list for scamming other users...
Trust system should be seen as a way to avoid scammers not to trust members.
Unfortunately one consequence of reputation systems is that you give people an asset which is most valuable if used for scamming.  So in a free market we shouldn't be surprised that high reputation accounts often eventually scam.  The fact that scamming is illegal/against the rules, etc. makes it less of a free market, but since scammers seldom suffer major consequences, the behaviour persists.

I think insurance would be a much better solution than reputation systems, but unfortunately people underestimate their risks of being scammed so they're not interested in paying the kind of fees that would be necessary to make in interesting for people to offer insurance for trades.

This is a good point.
A 5% escrow fee or a  minimum $10  in fees.  Would seem excessive to most. Yet the amount of work to escrow can be two hours maybe three hours for a single escrow of goods.

It is about 20 minutes to fully explain the rules for an escrow.

You need to exchange multiple pm’S to correctly explain it.

Scammers work in unison against escrow providers.  There are days I get a dozen pms asking for escrows. I spend one or two hours time answering and explaining to the questions.
Then every deal falls out. I lose two hours or one hour in time that day.
Even if every deal was to have happened Maybe I would get 30 dollars. Since every deal was small .

So I don’t want to bother as much to do escrows. Not to mention the pm threats about catching a scammer the day before. So you get discouraged

Dude just give us the btc address you mine with.

If you show your gear mining on the pool we can figure if there is an issue.

14390  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 Hashboard keeps reseting on: April 05, 2020, 12:50:54 PM
okay  I don't know why the board drops off.

But try this,

Board    Board      Board
   1           2            3

pull  the 3 pcie power cables and pull the data cable  on board  1 and board 2

Run just board 3 for an hour see if it works  the whole hour

Next run just board 2  for an hour  see if it works for an hour

last run just  board 1 for an hour  see if it works for an hour.

once you do this  let us know  what happened.

I suspect  one will not work.  let us know if all work alone or if 1 does not work alone.

Phil I make it a point to read all of your posts.  Every time you type I learn something.  Thank you for your contributions to this community and all members.

I get too cranky as I get older> But I really wanted to try to explain this and made an effort.  I guess since I am on lockdown with nothing else to do may as well try to help out.
14392  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: April 04, 2020, 11:24:42 PM
Hi see the following pictures:

That capture was taken at 4 in the afternoon

That capture was taken at 10 o'clock tonight.

Question?
If I have not mined anything, and the data is the same, why has my Derp dropped?.
From 10416 to down to 10249

I think now you will understand what I'm saying.

Regards

Okay  the photos don't show.

But  if you do not mine as the rest of us mine  you no longer contribute.  Yet the rest of us contribute.  So your share shrinks...

another way  if you mine 10 shares  and we mine 90 shares  total shares are 10 + 90= 100

you are 10 of 100  10/100 = 0.10  or 10%

so you stop and don't mine.

the rest of us mine on    we do 100 more shares

total shares are 100+100 = 200

you shares are 10  case you stopped.

so 10/200 = 0.05 or 5%

you lowered cause we mined on and you stopped.

you derp or your payout is based on

your work/pools work

 if you stopped mining

your work  stays the same

but the pools work grows.

10/100 = 10%

10/200 = 5%

this is why your derp is shrinking   you stopped mining.

you derp  can shrink  if you keep mining  huh?  wtf?

sure

10/100  derp the same 10%
20/200  derp the same 10%
30/300  derp the same 10%
40/4000   derp drops to 1%   wtf how did this happen?    simple you stayed at the same hashing rate  and a giant came by with many miners and fucking snatched away some derp from all other miners.
14393  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: April 04, 2020, 05:59:11 PM
It sounds like he thinks his  derp is not correct.

Maybe he does not understand  this is a 5n pool.
Maybe he is doing a ramp up and thinks the amount grows too slowly.
If he has no understanding of 5n I could get that he would be confused.
Here is my miner
Rank.................Address.....................................H/s 1h.....H/s 1d......H/s 1w...Workers........Shares...............Best share......luck  ............herp........................derp
16   16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr   9.06TH/s   9.13TH/s   13.2TH/s   1          22,916,626,867  13754547806   100%   89,026,795,179    0.02408709

I will get about 0.02408 btc if we hit a  block today

one of the issues   of 5n  and a small pool like this is the hash averages no longer reflect your 5n average  which in turn makes derp hard to understand.

many would say how does a 9th miner get 0.02408 btc  that is too good.

even if they look at my weekly 13.2th  they say  0.02408 btc is too much.

what they don't realize the 5n  for this pool is more then  1 year  so I may have mined a ton back in oct of 2019  it only shows in my derp and no where else.

My guess is he sees  derp  for top 3

 ..........Address   ..............................................H/s 1h   H/s 1d   H/s 1w   workers   shares   ........best share...............   luck   .........................herp..............derp
1   3FE6XwqYfeYEwXcL1mngBsKb1jBZBaDQvQ   240TH/s   228TH/s   188TH/s   26   123,456,283,870   107066024386   ........100%   2,036,421,491,393   0.55097425
2   36JMs8rogpizjkkp6eeKMmm3SLbSNo5H9V   213TH/s   214TH/s   277TH/s   24   227,563,949,918   25726717143682   100%   9,007,638,605,640   2.43710693
3   32LA7cmsj35LH7cK1MjvwyoLEmYpuWAD9k   125TH/s   96.2TH/s   80.1TH/s   8   83,375,669,758   55209139173   ................100%   11,641,285,864,705   3.1496666

and he says  why does 3 get paid more  then   1

3 has less hash for 1 hour
3 has less hash for 1 day
3 has less hash for 1 week

3 gets 3.149 coins
1 gets 0.5509 coins

that is wrong.

if ck has H/s 5n in addition      maybe he would see  and understand.

I gave op 4 merits he is now at 10 and should be a full member shortly.

In general  I self mod almost every thread I open. Basically so much spam and shit posting.  I also tend to delete posts that are or appear to be  a lie.  A troll sometimes slips up and gets caught in a contradiction on a thread. I quote the post delete the original and point out the trolls bad post.

A well self modded thread takes time on the part of the thread starter.

I did a series of self modded threads in alt coin mining.

9 of them with a million views total.

I recently deleted  the entire 1st thread.

This is thread 9   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144362.0    I could delete it But I won't until it is old and out of date

Im sorry but, I don't know what a GUI is nor how to locate it... Ive tried searching through everything and have not found it.

I think I have heat issues. I can run at night but about 10AM they (2 miners) go down.

I can't help you if you can not find your miner on the browser.

I can't help you if you do not understand the screen shots. Of the gui that I posted.

Sorry about that.

My advice to you is sell the gear and don't mine.

As without the knowledge to access to the miners gui  you can not mine properly.

I will try this 1 more time.   The gui is the browser page that you add the pools you mine to.

The pools are filled out according to you.

Which means  you went to the gui and then went to the pools page.

The first 2 auctions done pretty well. All in all, the 3 sets are net positive but the 3rd one really brought it back to nearly being break even.

I cant complain if im honest, yes stacking sats is great but I love doing these type of projects and getting my stuff out there. Seeing all you guys get the cards in your hands is tremendously satisfying and to me that's actually kinda priceless....

Il do the last auction in the exact same format with a zero starting bid, nothing will change in that respect. If it goes the same way then so be it, I aint gonna gouge the very guys who bid on my goods just so i can walk away with mad gains. The community set the price on these and im happy with that arrangement!

Thanks for your suggestion tho👍👍

I want either a six or nine of hearts.  So please pm me when you do the auction as I will be bidding.

Okay  there were 2 controllers h-6 and h-3

Both you and I had beta models. can't remember which of the 2.

When I blew the psu and got the new one from the company in North carolina.  the new psu would not work.

when I went to upgrade the firmware on the controller pangolin only had the wrong one . I found the right one on microbt website.

when I loaded correct firmware the gear runs but like shit.  either really hot at 50th or fairly hot on low speed at 38th
the other unit whales at 67th.  I use almost the same power to do 38th on low with new psu and new firmware.

At this point I am 70 miles away fro almost all the gear.
I am technically not allowed to drive up to work there.

So for now I can't play with any gear to see if I can fix it.

I am down 1 L3+ and s9's  and mostly doing nothing.

Since I never loaded the firmware via sd card I don't know if I would be able to do it. and I can't compare it to my m20's as I don't have hands on access.  I have team viewer but to know I did this correctly I need to take the controller you have program it and attach to my gear to see what it does.

I am going to be stuck local for 2-3 weeks as NJ is no 2 on the corona-v list and considering we are physical small and very densely populated I am just waiting and hoping for lock down to end by april 30.
