sad for your loss, but whenever you receive an email or message from any "bank" or in this case wallet
make sure you check ten times if its legit
in 99% cases its a scam

This is an in wallet message which most would pay far more attention to than some random email which would guarantee an insta ignore. I can imagine many people would've unthinkingly followed its instructions.

It still sucks but it's more understandable that more would fall for this.

yes, I agree when you receive such a message in the wallet itself it adds credibility
but I would go to the official site and check the news and download there
in any case , Electrum just lost many potential users due to this strange security lapse
1442  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Sports Investment site startup on: December 27, 2018, 07:30:59 PM
ugh, as vague as you can get
our automated system is investing in a weighed portfolio, but you can see the profit graph
sounds like your average HYIP, doesn't it?
correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no automatic betting system that guarantees profit to investors
otherwise all the bookies would go bankrupt very soon, automatically  Grin
so if you give 10 euros for free and I deposit 10 euros, will I be able to withdraw my "investment" ?
forgive me my pessimism but I'd rather stay away from unknown "investment clubs"

I got countless fishing messages from fake blockchain, coinbase and other wallets to develop immunity to this sort of scam
unfortunately, too many users learn the hard way and lose all of their money, at least all you lost was 0.04 btc which is painful but not the end of the world
1444  Economy / Gambling / Re: boxsbit on: December 25, 2018, 05:29:22 AM
any good features to encourage players to play here ? Instant withdrawals ? bonuses ? anything ?

a feature that can be considered as good , if the script is same as bitkong
is free faucet, there should be around 500 free satoshis (maybe less) so you can try the game
well, pretty much everything there is encouragementwise  Grin
even withdrawals are manual, according to the withdraw help tab
invite friend button doesn't work same as subscribe , so the site is not even 100% ready yet
p.s. never mind there is a 550k satoshi promotion ongoing, surprisingly generous ,I must say

is the site running at this point solely to rip people off of deposits? do accounts with money on them have any chance in hell at getting whole?

probably more of abandoned rather than scamming on purpose
but should have turned the servers off long time ago or at least do not allow deposits
accounts with money can only wait and hope, the chances to get your money back depends if the owner gets back and decides to do the right thing
1448  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-20]Central Banks of 15 Diverse Countries are Ready to Embrace Cryptocur on: December 23, 2018, 11:16:36 PM
how is this good news for crypto?
fifteen countries to slide further into central bank's slavery pit by effectively substituting truly decentralized and anonymous existing coins like Monero
with their stillborn digital currencies
central banks want to have this "counterfeit" centralized coins to be used by the countries instead of regulating crypto

ha, funny how noticing patterns helps you to win  Cheesy
if it is 44 again next , I'm going to slightly question the RNG generator, haha
anyway, here are my today's numbers:

44,50,52,54,55
1450  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-22]Western Union is Ready for Crypto Use in its Payment & Transfer Serv on: December 23, 2018, 03:16:52 PM
this is ,actually , huge for adoption
people in many countries rely on Western Union to send money abroad , despite WU's outrageous fees
I've seen people transfer 500$ paying like 30$ or similar for the transaction
interested in how Western Union is planning to charge for using crypto? will it be their commission on top of a tx fee?
but this makes WU redundant in this chain, people can manage sending crypto without their "helpful" service
1451  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-19] Bitcoin Surges 18% in 3 Days as it Nears $3,800: What’s Next? on: December 23, 2018, 02:57:49 PM
the bottom of 3000$ was tested, now it is time to end this ... interesting year for cryptocurrencies on a positive note
to me positive will be stabilisation at a  4300-4500$ level
excited for the year to come, Bakkt, ETF , more Lightning - we may see bitcoin stronger than ever
frankly I would not mind it staying at under 5.000$ for the rest of the year
1452  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dice-Bet 🎲 0.7% Edge | Wagering Competition | BTC, LTC, ETH | Play or Invest 🎲 on: December 23, 2018, 01:39:35 PM
a dedicated person with lots of time on hands and nothing better to do could sit all day and claim free coins and bet on a 1000x multi till he succeeds
it is not really worth it for an average player, but again, we are talking about abusers here, so for them free money is free money
even if the time wasted is times 100 the possible profit gained
free faucet is an amazing marketing tool but if it costs too much, sometimes it is better to not have it at all
many sites have either limited faucets or introduced their own play money instead

1453  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ DuckDice.io 🎲 Faucet 🎲 Rainbot 🎲 Jackpot 🎲 Wagering Contest 🎲 1%Edge 🎲 on: December 23, 2018, 01:21:07 PM

12 BTC successfully landed in a Duckling pocket!

This time, I am pretty much agree with gameprotect because it is ambigous, which Actually what this mean? Are you saying that you got this amount to increase your bankroll? Or you just got it from the losing players which increasing some of your max bet as well?

Anyway? What is about the rude mods there? What I do know their mod is seldom chat, I do have some problem last time but the mod only stay quite there, in the end I just need to ask here to get some answers. But if being rude, I do not think it happened to me before

Omg, sure no, it means our player won 12 BTC from us and successfully wd it. I cannot provide a wd transaction, cause the winner enabled privacy settings to not show profit at at the moment. But regular players knows about whom I am talking about, also username has been displayed in our winners spotlights for pretty long.

Regarding mod, it is not nice discussion as we treat every mod as our family member, so the "investigation" will be held privately, hope you all understand,  as this only humiliating. Also we had so many cases of mod complaints that included fake screenshots, that I will not rush into any conclusion.
Of course, feedback about mod team activity can be given in whatever form you will necessary, and the case resolution will be also provided publicly (but without "dirty laundry" details).

yes i agree .. you have rude mod's family .. almost one and half years i'm playing your site.. i know about your private "investigation" ,, maybe you have professional fack screenshots makers team .. not me.. and my screenshots not a fack screenshots .. if you think my screenshots fack i'm ready to share my chat message logs here .. we do not want any "public punishment" .. lol what "public punishment" ? your site not a court and your rude mod's not a judge remember that .. (but without "dirty laundry" details) ..

your mod's can find new job if you site down .. but think about your site future .. your rude mod's family never respect any users .. they play with users self-respect .. that's why i'm talking here ..

interesting, do you have examples of their rudeness?
I'm not a 12 hours a day Duckdice chatter, but their mods do not appear rude to me at all
maybe it differs depending on the chat room you are in, english room seems cool
mods are human too, but it helps if you screenshot and send it to the boss himself or to support, so they can take care of it
1454  Economy / Gambling / Re: SportCrypt.com - Peer to peer sports betting via Ethereum smart contracts on: December 23, 2018, 12:54:14 PM
Hello,

We are looking for some feedback on how the UI/UX could be improved on https://www.SportCrypt.com

The vision is basically Betfair on the blockchain, with no fees and utilizing ETH. The users can enter their own odds and bet against their peers, rather than a traditional sportsbook model where you bet against the house.

Thanks,
SportCrypt crew.

interface looks very basic indeed
you should have Home button when you click on the site's name/logo
it took me half a minute to try to return to the main page, then I had to edit the address
I also think that Help or FAQ section is a must ,it is not very new user friendly
Betfair on blockchain is a very bold statement Smiley you have a lot of work to do

1455  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-14]Ukraine Considers Blockchain as an Effective Means of Fighting Corru on: December 23, 2018, 12:09:41 PM
The thing is, when Tymoshenko presented her whitepaper for reforming the country, Ukrainian journalists and experts quickly figured out that it's just a collection of buzzwords and populism written by some hired writers. She even can't pronounce "Linux" and "blockchain" correctly.

As far as I remember Tymoshenko was also accused of "misuse of public finances", which is corruption.

It was pretty funny seeing the photos of Tymoshenko getting out of prison. She was wearing her trademark hairstyle (a circle of blond pigtails on the back of her head that resembles an angel's halo Cheesy). But she didn't have hair dye in prison for her real hair, so the halo (which was just something she clipped onto her real hair) was still super blond, while her real hair was mouse brown.

^^ the famous wheelchair+high heels combo straight after prison photo Smiley
Timoshenko has a trail of corruption and is associated with Pavlo Lazarenko ,accused of laundering and stealing money and serving jail term in one of the US prisons
she is a well known populist who will say anything to become president
there is also a recording of her phone conversation with one of the deputies where she wants to "shoot Russians with nuclear weapons"
no wonder she is riding the blockchain waves while having zero idea about the subject
in any case, I'm sure she will be appointed the next president, poor Ukraine....
1456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We have to be aware that bitcoin will not last forever on: December 23, 2018, 11:01:32 AM
as long as there is cryptography and internet- bitcoin can last forever alright
if you mean that bitcoin won't cost as much as it costs now and loses value, then nothing is forever of course
but there is nothing to challenge bitcoin's supremacy in the near future
it would take some extraordinary or revolutionary technology to dethrone bitcoin
many altcoins tried, none succeeded, not going to happen any time soon
1457  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betting Forum on: December 23, 2018, 09:09:14 AM
Betting Forum is specialized forum where we talk about gambling. We are a friendly community of people that love to bet and discuss everything related to gambling and even outside that topic.
We will launch  a betting game in the close future so be sure to check regulary.
Thanks for sharing! The whole forum dedicated to gambling sounds useful. I can see that it's pretty young for now, though. I'm also wondering whether it has relation to cryptocurrencies. Will they be discussed in relation to casinos, for example? I also wonder whether this forum is going to adopt blockchain and make incentives for people who post good content (like on Steemit). It could really make it stand out, attract audience as well as help a new crypto grow and provide some profit for the team this way.
Good luck!
I have been thinking about this, but I can provide payments only to selected people. If someone is interested in this he can contact me and we can work out agreement.

The forum appears to be dedicated to Sports Betting. How long it is in existence?

Since 2008.

you do need to incentivise people to post
the times of enthusiasts who create content because they have nothing better to do are gone
there will be some, of course, but not as many as you would like and I'm sure you have noticed it already
think of a business model that won't make you go bankrupt but attract quality posters at the same time:
pay per post, signatures, % from sales, ads etc. etc.

How do bitcointalk make people to post for example? Because it seems they do not pay. They have so much topics, even more than some of the biggest betting forums only in the gambling section.

because Bitcointalk is effectively the largest bitcoin (and to some extent, crypto) forum out there, there are lots of people here and more registering every day
if you Google search bitcoin+forum or any other crypto related search query, bitcointalk will be in the top 10 results for sure
the forum  doesn't pay for posts, but there is such a phenomenon as signature campaigns - i.e. people get paid by the third parties to wear their advertising in a form of a signature, avatar etc.
one could argue that it is also the main cause of spam and irrelevant info (signature campaigns, that is) but it does incentivise people to post
merit system was introduced recently and newbies have to earn merit to rank up, hence they are trying to find and post useful information to get awarded merit points
there are many old school devs and members that are knowledgeable and provide technical info that you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere
and in general, this place is fun and helps people to learn about bitcoin and find answers to their questions
if you can find this magic formula but with betting, your forum will succeed, easier said than done though
1458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Perspective about HODL. on: December 22, 2018, 10:44:07 PM
neither perspective nor meaning of HODL has changed
HODL for dear life despite the price, despite any problems
just make sure you know when to sell Smiley because you cannot just hodl for hold's sake
I swear many HODLers were more than happy to offload coins at 17.000$ last December
investment in bitcoins is good because of the deflationary mechanism inbuilt and that every lost coin makes other coins more valuable
so HODL and know the price you want to sell at, easy as that
