14481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Rules of newbie section of forum? on: February 19, 2014, 09:39:44 PM
I can't seem to find any rules on the newbie section what is allowed and what isn't?

There's a few here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0

Most stuff is ok, just no altcoin talk and try use the other forums if applicable.

Altcoin is not allowed to be discussed in the newbie sub-forum but look at all the threads in here talking about alt coins OP I don't think the rules are clear and are being written up? or not to be made clear until new forum.

They get moved if you report them or if the mods see them, but I think they've got better things to be doing than moderating this newbie section.

This should be in the marketplace services section. You can edit your post and move it there yourself.

Is the handle "newbie" taken? That could be a workaround?

I should think so probably a popular name.

Yup, and there are several variations of it. Just search on the members tab next to messages.
14485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity on: February 19, 2014, 09:25:38 PM
Bitcoin is not as anoymous as people think just take a look at the scam accusations and how many people get caight almost 90%.

It is anoymous if the right guidelines are followed and most people follow them pretty good and I would say that the scam accusation area is normally filled with newbies or don't value annoymity and just want to scam coin quickly luckily they do that and we can find out who they are.

That's because they stupidly tie themselves to their identity in some way. If you want to remain anonymous you can do.

2.4 Bitcoin a month? Oh I can't wait to get to 50 activity I actually love prime dice and I'm going on there right now.

Nobody will do anywhere near 2.4. Doubt many people will even get over 1BTC to be honest.

You can choose another deal from here in the meantime: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333916.0

I don't like to advertise any signature in my signatue just because I can but primedice actually looks pretty cool and I won't decide if I'm going to do it or not until I have tested the site.

Fair play, but pretty much everyone here can vouch for the legitimacy of the site/Stunna.

BTW, you have 50 activity now  Wink.

What is the competition? Now 8000 posts Huh who could manage that lol?

I have seen a few people in here that have I would guess have posted in the thousands over the last month.   I don't think anywhere near 8000 though.  It would be cool if it were set up on a tier system, so the higher the post count, the higher the payout.  Or if there was a way to track the users that were referred over to primedice website, like an affiliate program.

There is affiliate links on PrimeDice, but they're not active yet until PD3, so you don't get any payment, but I put mine in and it seemed to stop at 100 referrals. Stunna mentioned to someone that people taking part in the sig deal cannot participate in the referral scheme as well, but I hope he reconsiders before PD3 goes live.

So we can't change link in sig to ref link ?
Also i would like to know i posted my start posts and my addy up there.
Is that all i need to do ? And on March 17. post again with link to that ? I don't need to get approval from stunna or anything ? I am already in ?

You can put the link in, as I and others have done, but you wont get any money from referrals, and it may not be allowed once PD3 goes live. I'm sure Stunna will give us further details when it goes live

And you're fine. Just message Stunna on the 17th with your total posts and a link to your starting post in the thread.

Did anyone watch the Baftas or the Golden Globes? American Hustle looks really good and quite funny. Gravity looked a bit cheesy to me, but I'm still looking forward to them.

Does any one do these any more as Mike has now stopped creating physical Bitcoin and where can I get them?

Have a look over on the marketplace, but heed the above replies.
14492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity on: February 19, 2014, 08:46:41 PM
Might be a naive question for some - but why is anonymity such a priority for BTC ? Why is Amir concentrating on it with Dark Wallet ? How will the anonymity of transactions benefit the average Jo (who probably won't have 2 bits to scratch his arse with anyway) ? I can see how it would be of benefit to the wealthy and their respective tax liabilities  Wink

Because some people value anonymity and privacy, and various governments are trying to spy on everything we do, and to some people they don't want governments to know every detail of their lives or what they might spend their money on.
14493  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hey guys just trying to make poll :D on: February 19, 2014, 08:42:54 PM
Instead of "new topic" make a "post new poll"?

Yeah i got it now . Smiley . How i can delete this thread now ? Or there is no need to ?

I don't think you can once people have posted in it, but you can lock it. Just edit your first post and there should be an option to lock.
14494  Economy / Goods / Re: BANKSY Painting for BTC on: February 19, 2014, 08:33:45 PM
Hello,
I am looking for Banksys original art with COA. Please PM with Price.
Thanks

Bit of a random request. If anyone tries selling you a Banksy on here I'm sure they'll just try to rip you off. I'm sure they're easy to fake even with a COA too.
14495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saying hello, and have a few questions on: February 19, 2014, 08:31:35 PM
I've sent to wallet from his signature. I hope he has access to that one and he'll use it to go out on pizza with his family  Grin

I hope so too, less that would just be adding insult to injury haha.
14496  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Overview of Signature-Ad Campaigns on: February 19, 2014, 08:28:43 PM
Not that it's any of my business, but why don't you use a signature service yourself?
Do you want to stay neutral as the TS of this topic?

Somebody asked him before in this thread I think.

reserved Smiley

Got anything useful to add or just padding your post-count for better payouts?

Haha.

Is there any particular reason why you're not partaking in a signature ad?
I don't like ads that pay based on posts-per-month, since they encourage the most spamming. Ads that pay out based on total posts also benefit post-spammers, but to a much lesser extent. And since TFs ad-campaign ended along with his services, there hasn't been a similar campaign with payouts that I care about.

Maybe he might change his mind though.

Is that Speaker second from right?  Grin

Does Fiver actually pay out in Bitcoins?

Yeah just recently they started accepting it , specially introduced for Mark Karpeles and his services Smiley

Yeah, they accept it but do they pay people in BTC too?

Wow, laszlo is back.

I bought my first coin in March 2013 and I was extremely lucky and successful trader. Even if you could easily say that you don't have BTC anymore to keep low profile, I don't care, it would be shame that I have more BTC than you do despite you contributing much more to thing that looks like my life changer.

1 BTC sent your way you Bitcoin legend  Grin

You sure he still has access to that wallet address?
14500  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 22 Messages From Creationists To People Who Believe In Evolution on: February 19, 2014, 07:31:17 PM

How do I take it up with him? If I ask I wont get any answers. Just silence which already speaks loud and clear. Do you not think all these answers are just excuses though? Where do all these answers come from? The bible or has god told you these personally? I'm sure you've just had these answers drilled into you by someone. I was raised a Catholic and went to all Catholic schools, but once you start to think for yourself it quickly becomes apparent that there's not a single piece of evidence for any gods whatsoever.

"Hearing God" is another entire discussion.  I admit that in my own life there have been many times when it felt like God was not there or not listening.  But I can tell you that if you sincerely keep asking He will respond.  He has made Himself know to me in many ways (reading the Bible, prayer, using others around me) but it is a spiritual journey.  I will pray that you will hear begin to hear Him more clearly though.

Please don't waste your time on me. I never heard or felt him in the first place, I was just told he existed and I believed it because that's what naive children do. I also like the phrase one pair of hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer, so go do something useful or altruistic instead.

Ah.  But James 5:16 says that the prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective.  I guess this will be more of a test of how "righteous" I am then you are then. Wink  As for your point that you have moved beyond being a "naive" child, we have to come to faith like a "naive" child really.  The world around us thinks that they are just smarter than God.  It really is just pride and pride is considered the most dangerous sins of all, probably because with it no one will ever even come to God.  Why would they?  They think they know more than God and do not need Him.  Although we all need Him.  Some just won't realize that until it is too late.

If there was a god I wouldn't think I was smarter than him/her/it, and I don't think anyone would, but I guess by default I'm smarter than something that doesn't exist to me. I'd also say we don't need him and some wont realise that until the end.
