so for 1 year i had only 2 classes a week ( finishing collage ), ( about 8 hours a week of school class time + study ) I watched so much TV and smoked so much fucking weed those two semesters I believe I'm still suffering the effects I dont watch TV anymore, although i have a good TV hook up with all HD channels, the works... its only used by my 2 year old son. |

if i had $2million to buy btc and was a bull I'd just set up a bot to buy 25 BTC every 10 minutes and let it run for a week or two. An experienced trader who knows how price usually moves would just put his bid at $30 and wait. anyone that has no bitcoin and an oz of commonsense will buy some now and count himself lucky if he gets to buy more lower |

We all know what current bitcoin price is artificial. But even a MtGox can't maintain it for a long. Don't know if bitcoin can touch $50 in next several days, but following crash is inevitable.
Because the real value of bitcoin have not changed in the last two years since bubble begun to grow (come on, even a drug-dealers still not use bitcoins), we are going to the same basic level about 0.8$. So, the question is where exactly it will stop to remain still?
 Bearshit after more crashes then i can count, bitcoin is worth 47$, that is the fair value... deal with it. |

As a trading newbie i dont understand at all!
Looking at the wall image a couple of posts back, it seems like there is a vertical line to the right... that suggests to me that it would be hard for the price to move up.
The line to the left is way less steep... doesn't that mean it is easier for the price to drop?
How are you supposed to read these images?? Why do you all think the price is about to go up? What are you looking at??
the walls are showing all the bids and asks, for a given price range study that chart with this in mind and you should be able to see it. anyway, the chart is misleading. allot of people dont place bids and just BUY, same is true for asks. |

Hello all,
I'm a programmer proficient in LAMP setups. Having built websites for large and small customers. I have always been facinated by Bitcoin and everytime I think up a new business venture for Bitcoin, one thing stops me. My lack of understanding for handling bitcoin and the server infastructure required. Obviously I dont want to be making any mistakes and the trouble is most my ideas result in me holding money is some sort of hot wallet. So what can you the bitcoin community suggest to me? I've learnt from the mistakes of others and I don't want to repeat history, so is there any direction I can go?

I guess it depends on the idea you want to implement, but most of the time, you can do away with hot wallets altogether. A good way to get started is; to print out a huge list of paper wallets (on an offline computer) and process any withdraw request from user manually. you can process deposits automatically with a third party tool ("bitcoin Notify" ? not sure of the name)that send a HTTP POST to your specified script when ever one of your wallets gets a deposit. this way you can be sure as long as the paper wallets are safe, your safe, even if your site gets hacked to shit. you can automate everything expect for withdraws request. this way you can make sure your system hasn't been comprised (should be as easy as checking that your books are balanced) and then process the withdraw in a batch once a week or something... bitfenix works this way, and i like that they do because everyone can be sure their funds their are safe! hackers will not care to hack you even if your system can easily be compromised, because they know even if they do, they wont get any coins out of it. |
