Yesterday both Juventus FC and SS Lazio won their respective Champions League games: Kiev - Juve 0-2 and Lazio - B. Dortmund 3-1.
I personally watched Lazio Borussia and had fun with the game: Immobile is a truly amazing player, one of my best striker these days. I think Lazio can easily win Group F  Wink I might put a few bucks on them for the next games.

Mr. Wang beats his record again. This time betting 364 BTC  (4.36 million USD).

I'm trying to figure out if the guy loves or hates money  Grin

He keeps testing even deeper waters with his bets...
He seems to be getting lucky over and over...

I think its a combination of both, I just assume he has too much of it Cheesy
Or, I just assume, he/she/they are bitcoin whales with loads of coins and they don't care much about losing some. It depends on your bag, always: if your maximum bet is 0.01 btc then you would never believe somebody could bet a whopping 436 btc. It's all about perspective and remember that there are no facts, only interpretations.  Cool

I would like to get a bigger following on social media (Facebook & Twitter for now) - I do get new followers on a regular base but yeah, now that I am going to publish Press Releases, I may also work on the social side of things. Any ideas? Besides BUYING worthless followers? Cheesy

Thanks guys!

Nb. In the last few days I have seen around 30 people liking my facebook page and I am surprised to be honest - it's not like I have done anything, quite strange. Wink
Can't help you over there efialtis. I'm out of Facebook and Twitter. I regularly follow the Blue Bird social network to look for bitcoin-related news but I don't have an account. Do you believe these two channels can help you to bring much more traffic to your site? Just make sure to not break any of their rules since gambling is a quite sensitive topic.

Rome will be playing in Europe League vs Young Boys and to avoid any possible spread of covid-19 players and staff will undergo a self-quarantine term. Today, they will be tested again before leaving for Switzerland. My personal take is that this European endeavor might negatively impact Rome before the big game vs AC Milan on Monday night: my pick is that Milan will go for the fifth consecutive win against the giallorossi.
1467  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: October 20, 2020, 02:21:11 PM
So taproot removes the distinction between single party spends and multisig too (which can include lightning input spends which don't actually use CSV/CLTV, even if they have it available).  Indistinguishable threshold signatures may not, however, be usable for all multisig usage because the threshold signature requires a little more interaction between signers and because in some cases you really want the public record to reflect which participants out of the threshold actually participated.

Of course, and that's actually a very elegant way to put it. Thanks gmaxwell, keep contributing here for us to really get into all-bitcoin-tech-things. And, really, thank you both for your two posts as now I believe I have a much clearer picture regarding what Taproot activation would mean. Thank you so much!

To be serious, I think we need to give a big round of applause to these two posts!

me - bitcoin

them - omg omg omg bitcoin? but that uses up all the planet's scarce resources, i literally can't breathe because of your funny internet game tokens

me - https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/introducing-cbpi-a-new-way-to-measure-bitcoin-network-electrical-consumption

them - that's a lot of words, I have sandalwood chopping boards to craft and you want to literally starve me to death

me - tl;dr:

them - yeah i don't know much about science, but i know what i like

me - (barely resisting the urge to literally stop them breathing) have fun staying poor

My pick: let's get rid of X-mas lights! Let's buy fireworks instead.
1470  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ BTCGOSU ⭐ Your Trusted Guide to the Best Bitcoin Casinos ⭐ on: October 20, 2020, 09:19:54 AM
I agree regarding Betnomi, they played it fair with me so far. I told them that I am waiting for all the necessary updates before going back and play there. It's a nice platform with loads of fun stuff but under the hood they still have to work a bit. And, above all, I believe they should let the user decide in which currency he likes to play since there's no clear distinction about what happens to your crypto once you deposit there. A clear distinction in currency types would be necessary (fiat vs crypto coins).
1471  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: October 20, 2020, 09:14:22 AM
I am writing it mostly to merge the content into my head......
  • Not all Bitcoin addresses and transactions are equal since we have different address types: addresses starting with “3” are scripts, meaning that they imply multiple keys or implement segregated witness
  • Taproot gets rid of the 1/3 address type distinction. As said before, all txs look just like regular transactions from one person to another, no matter how many people participated

Example: let's imagine a payment channel that Alice and Bob opened on the LN. Once they are done, they want to close the channel and take their BTC back. Before Taproot, the channel’s closure implies the creation of a bulky tx, which would reveal too much about what happened. Enter Taproot, this action between A&B would appear as a regular transaction distributing funds to Alice and Bob, as if a third-party had sent them coins.

Sounds cool to me

Saturday's derby proved it once more: for Ibrahimovic age is only a number, a detail, a formality. Like the passing of time: it took him two weeks to return from his Covid and three minutes to decide the super-match against Inter with two goals. Being 39 years old, Ibra is still the best one on the pitch. Such a great player!
1473  Other / Meta / Re: #meritislife: how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions on: October 20, 2020, 08:41:27 AM
After a few months of usage I can say I am satisfied with the upgrade: the display of the MI5 is way better than the old one, the sensors are more precise and the overall feeling is better.
Are those improvement worth the extra bucks? My tentative answer is yes.
Also, a long overdue (hairy wrist picture) picture.

I am going to add this picture and the one from the @thebeardedwrist @TheBeardedBaby to the gallery.

Hey that's my name on your wrist band!  Grin  Grin Grin I did not know there could have been people so crazy about getting merits and other sort of things! If I understand that bot basically connects your band to all your bitcointalk activities and you get notified for everything you want to see in real time. That's wundebar  Cool

Yes! 10k € conquered (again)!

Thinking of the time when the numbers in our posts have one extra digit...

Man, it's just too mind-Bogdanoff-boggling to even imagine...
For those who were here during the glorious days of Carolina 2017, that's for you.
If you were there, here's the memories to go with the tingles, if you weren't, just get a load of what you missed.

Are we CCMF, gentlemen?
I Googled CCMF and came up with Carolina Country Music Fest! Is that what it means? LOL!  Cheesy

It all started with my post above...
...and perfected with the meme below...

Well done 600watt! I would suggest you create a thread outside the WO. You could help a few more bitcoiners with this list. Either way, I'm quoting this as a future reference. And then a question: given the huge amount of sources, what would you personally suggest to start with?
Thank you very much
1477  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Resilient Custody of Crypto-Assets, and Threshold Multisignatures on: October 19, 2020, 08:12:05 AM
The method is far more complicated than i thought and it uses various things that i never heard previously (such as Feldman’s verifiable protocol). Additionally there are many things that i couldn't understand such as

Quote
1.They convert the(2, 3)-threshold shares xi of x into(2, 2)-threshold shares wi of x with appropriate Lagrangian coefficients

I don't say it's bad method (rather i find it interesting), but it's very complex while involving third party (Service Provider and Recovery Server in this case). It's definitely not for people like me.

This method an evolution of the one that is currently used by Conio to provide a safe clients’ bitcoin custody at Hype.

The setup is meant to provide the user the full control of his bitcoin without the hassle and the responsibility of custody of his private key. We know that users are seldom their own worst enemy, not backing up her private key, losing access to their devices or generally doing stupid things.

So this setup is meant to “protect” the waekest link in the user/custody/service provider, letting him in control of his private key, but being able to recover access to funds in case of a major disaster.

In the coming months, I’ve been told Conio will release a wallet under this scheme, and next they will implement in their Hype solution.

So basically this company, Conio, has a multisig (3keys wallet) and they provide such service to a bank, Hype by Bank Sella? This is unbelievable! You are telling me that a bank in Italy allows people to buy bitcoin so easily! That's crazy
1478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 19, 2020, 08:01:36 AM
Bitcoin will win when we all will start thinking in BTC terms only. Paying in sats, asking for sats, doing channels with the grocery store, the pub, the cabman etc. Until those days there will be no mercy from financial incumbents.
my 2 sats

regarding podcasts and such, thank you all I merited here and there but........my god that's loads of listenings!  Grin

Pack out your popcorn🍿

Peter Schiff who many times argued #bitcoin 's only usage is for illegal activities...

Now turns out his own bank he is operating is under the investigation for one of the biggest money laundering / tax evasions 🤣🤣🤣 (SOUND ON)
