Well, it is after midnight and already Monday in SK now...

And no sign of it on Bithumb yet. Still advert on the front page about the '2 Monero events' but I can't see anything else.

found any updates?

Nope, but the actual 'hour' trading opens was not unspecified, I think.  Someone on here posted it may be 00.00 (midnight Sunday) - but on the schematic they put out earlier a time was not shown.

found it. listing will be on aug 30 damn it.

Event 1 . Deposit 1% if you make a deposit!

Deposit period: 2017.08.25 (Fri) 4:00 pm Payment address Open - 2017.08.28 (Mon) to 12:00 (Noon)

Trading period 2017.08.28 (Mon) List of Monero  ~ 2017.08.30 (Wed) Midnight

1% of monetary amount deposited during benefit deposit period

So what is the Trading period on the 28th?  'Invite only behind the scenes trading'?

Now it says (confusingly):  Listing day of Monero ~ August 30, 2017 (Sun) Midnight

The 30th is now the trading opening, then (but it's not Sunday)  looks like a sloppy change, where they changed the date, left the day of the week the same.

(( I am dub-posting in here as this is the main XMR thread to me - I feel this info may be useful for those looking to mess around a little with the coming action ))

"Depositing period 2017.08.25 (Fri) 4:00 pm Payment address Open ~ 2017.08.28 (Mon) to 12:00 (Noon)"
That means the depositing period is ending Sunday 27th - 8PM Pacific - 11PM Eastern time for us on the other side of the pond. Take a look - the opening of the period coincides within 2 hours of the action we saw on the 25th, and since. It is well worth analyzing the parallels between volume, price, new floors, and the underlying reasons for these. As they say hindsight is 20/20.

"Trading period 2017.08.28 (Mon) Listing on Monero ~ 2017.08.31 (Thursday) Midnight"
I am assuming trading period starts immediately after the deposit period ends, which again would be Sunday 27th - 8PM Pacific - 11PM Eastern. However, if they really mean Monday at 00:00, that would be Sun 8AM PST - 11AM EST ie bout 9 hours from now.

The trading period ends Thursday for them. There is, strangely, a 1-day gap between then, and:

A 'Weekend Bingham Trading King' event this next weekend for them from Sat 00:00 to Sun 23:59 (don't forget to account for the -16 hours for PST / -13 hours for EST). It is from this event, if I understand correctly, that they will give out rewards for trading activity measured during, up to 100XMR (then worth $20K? 30K? more?). Expect said trading activity to be significant and perhaps insane - with this coming' Mondays' first round but mere foreplay.

I expect some weak-hand shaking by the whales as well, during the lulls (you can actually see one shakedown just a couple hours ago). Expect no mercy. Don't be fooled and sell at the dip only to watch them snatch everything back up on the cheap causing another spike! Be careful of these waves if you're going out there. I'll be playing around a little though Cool

Anyways, hope this helps you guys. I've done some pretty heavy analysis on this and other trading frenzies by the koreans, and I am very optimistic to say the least and have hedged my bets accordingly. Try not to FOMO too hard once it starts! - make smart trades and don't let the emotions rule (but don't rule out that GUT either, Big Dog!)

Nice analysis.  Have hardly been able to take my eyes off the screen since the middle of last week. One more decent leg up would be sweet...

Little bit of correction to 0.02956000 starting bout an hour ago, cutting right thru the 0.03100000. The support thats been tested 8 times without fail in the last 12 hours.

I plan on hodl firm - this looks like a whale shakeup to me so they can accumulate on the cheap - look at these buys - they arent even trying to hide it in bot-stagger

With dash threatening $400, I feel a sense of calm as its assured monero will reach that and plenty more.

The cream will rise.

Rest assured, dash is not going to be able to use masternodes and artificial supply restriction to prop up a coin with Evan's flawed tech and no realistic use case forever...

Dash is the MySpace of the early crypto period.
1488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 26, 2017, 09:50:24 PM
Amateur TA thought.  XMR is currently looking oversold.

I am hoping the 0.03174 is developing as a new floor level.  Let's hope SK buys the hell out of it come the listing and 0.03 / $130 (ish) becomes the new 'bottom'?

A new level at > $200 is not implausible. Nor is Top 5 MC.

1489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 26, 2017, 09:36:35 PM
Is it just me? I get the feeling that most bitcoiners are pro monero in private, but shy away from public endorsement. Why is this? Is monero tainted in any way?

Good point. It happens to me as well. Everyone in the criptospace with two neurons and non completely amoral knows that ripple stinks (for example) and monero is kind of noble, high project, so it´s quite of unavoidable that pro-moneroship. Also been interested in privacy, maybe they don´t want to flag themselves as monero hodlers

It was notable when the AlphaBay guy met his ignominious end, a fair few on the BTC Wall Observer thread said "why didn't the idiots just use Monero?' out of the blue.

I was surprised, it suddenly came out from a few sources like it was a no-brainer. No one challenged it.

It's considered 'treachery' to mention 'alts' there but I know a fair few (even infofront who is the mod of the WO, as well as Dotto, Arctic Mine and me who have always been WO regulars) pop in here and are actually Monero fans too.

Any well-performing alt threatens BTC dominance for those who are BTC Maximalists.  It's understandable.  However, Monero is definitely 'on the radar'.

The criptogoddess is about to open her mouth. Just listen

I hear her, I hear the Siren's call...

She says...

'Eeeeeeetttthhhh?  Wait until the ICO's are exposed as the fraud they are and it will fall'

And then, she whispered:

"Monero is the One True Path'

That said, I have been drinking - maybe I misheard?

1492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 26, 2017, 09:31:39 AM
With Monero the problem is again privacy, right now it offers reasonable privacy, but once the RingCT gets cracked the problem is that every single transaction will be traceable, the entire blockchain will be exposed.
This is not the case with other privacy coins like PIVX and DASH, they are much more secure in that sense.

But as long as RingCT stays strong Monero is a decent option technically.

Another issue with Monero is the likelihood of big whales, that would be much bigger still than any Bitcoin whales, i don't think people hodling 500k XMR are rare in this community. You can bet your ass they will dump soon, people just want Dollars, not crypto, as sad as it is, it's still the truth of this world.

Only 'reasonable privacy'?!

PIVX and DASH much more secure?

Dream on: you are so woefully wrong it's amusing.  Whales will dump soon?  So the sky will fall in, OK - sure, and no other currency is at risk of this???

Nice to see another legendary duck troll giving us attention, though.  It's always a good sign when an ill-informed duck passes by.  Say hello to Truecryptionaire when you ducks have a quack together next?
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 25, 2017, 10:41:32 PM

Sweet indeed, I confess I thought it would be tomorrow...

But it feels sweet.  $200 next..?

Yes it is amazing, yesterday i was analizing the carts and i saw that it was at $76 each one, so i decided to buy a few moneros today. But it is not at $100 hahah, i dont think i will buy now because i can smell a retracement in the upcoming days. As it happens everytime, a high pump, and then a little retracement.
I think that i can get to $85 tomorrow, or in the next week, and then keep going up

A little step back is inevitable, yes - but I have been hodling since the first listing on Polo and (net) buying ever since.

This is Gentlemen, this is serious wealth for those who weathered it all.

I am content.

I held XMR for a long time at around 50$....sold most and then it doubles....why!?

Strong hands are rewarded.

The are indeed.  Good to see you're not too busy to step in here and post.

Hope life is good..? Wink

Ok, so my account yefi got hacked 2017-08-19. I'm a little shocked at this as my p/w was a random 9 digit code with a special character. It was also unique to this site. Anyway, please ignore anything my lobotomised impostor now writes, thank you.

Here is the unedited post where I posted that address: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg13422402;topicseen#msg13422402

Sorry to hear this Yefi.

It is of course the lack of security on the site, and no reflection on you.   I know how I would feel, though, having to start as a noob after so many years of posting on here.  You are still a legend to those who know, don't worry!

Hope you can get back your avatar soon, or ideally Theymos will verify the hack and return the account to you - which OUGHT to be possible, given your ability to prove it.

There should be a way to prove their leaky security is at fault - so so many do not suffer this indignity on a site which (ironically) is all about cryptography.

I already did in 2015 when I bought it hand over fist at 25c - 50c

Best investment I ever made.

If it wasn't for my unfortunate boating accident I would have made a million dollars from Monero by now.

Such is life Wink

How can we ever forget True Cryptonaire, although the following post is far more amusing.

We both got into Monero around the same time thanks to Risto and Aminorex putting in our radar, around the time of the Mintpal pump. Unfortunately TC demonstrated his lack of foresight and sold all his holdings. I have never lost faith in this coin, reading the posts from trolls just makes me smile, when you trust the tech of a coin completely and respect the dev team 100% how can you not.

would you buy some xmr right now?

Sure...one of the only credible alt coins out there.

I disagree.
Monero seems so hard to code that there are very few wallet providers supporting it. Remember, Jaxx gave up. Also no hardware wallets so good luck storing your coins outside of the exchange in a secure manner.

Basically Monero is in the same situation it was 1-2 years ago. Hardly real world use cases.
Actually, it is even worse now as even Crypto Kingdom is out of the picture.

The utility of Monero is very limited and basically it is just another shitcoin.
In my opinion, the current price is very lucrative selling opportunity - after all it is like 4-5 times higher than 1 year ago.

I don't recall him ever being that er... popular here.  The contrast between the two posts sort of explains why.

Still, with all his Verge 'millions' , he can now buy some friends, I suppose.

hmmm.

Yes, I think he rage quit recently and sold all his XMR for Verge or something.  Bless.
