1483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 05:29:05 AM
I could not keep my hands off..

Running a Experimental p2pool for CHNcoin (CNC) - No guarantee it works 100% Smiley
Solo mining seems to work better for now.

cgminer:
Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o p2pool.chnco.in:8800 -u YourCNCaddress -p x
On there now.. cant get stats page at all?
1484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: feathercoin pool(100M+) on: May 01, 2013, 03:31:02 AM
Just wondering how long you think it's going to take to set up the autopay feature. Pool looks good. A little nervous given the integrity of this thread. I hope you can let us know when Payments will be fixed.

Thank you!
1485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2: A democratic cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: April 30, 2013, 09:08:21 PM
Well, I, for one, I am willing to help the development of this coin when I have some free time. I am fairly experienced c/c++ developer (6 years). I don't have a lot experience in cryptography, but i can take a crash course on coursera. But i have some requirements that i would like to integrate in the coin:
1. a block generated at every 10 seconds for fast approval of transactions (this i think is critical for the wide spreading of a coin, because in real life nobody will want to wait more than 10 seconds for the payment to be approved)
2. every block will generate at random between 1.5 and 2 coins at first and then, after some time, between 0.7 and 1.3 (to make it fun Cheesy)
3. When a critical monetary mass is reached, new coin is generated only based on the transactions done between 2 blocks. Let's say that will be at random between 5% and 15%, plus the fees (this is to have a dynamic inflation). This will give the miners always an incentive to mine and keep the network alive.
4. I was just thinking and this to improve the resistance of an 51% attack, and is the following: Every region has  an IP class, and we make a pool of all the IP classes (I think that the first number of the IP will be enough, for privacy reasons, so if the ip is x.y.z.w, we will store only the x). When a new block is found, the IP class that found the block is excluded from finding blocks for the next 4 to 10 blocks, and then is added back to pool. That way we will have a more even spreading of the coin, and I think that it will also reduce the risk of a 51% attack (I may be wrong, I think i need to study more the cryptography).

these changes you want seem radical and somewhat insane to be honest imo
1486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FeatherCoin for sale] 1000FC for 50LTC on: April 30, 2013, 08:36:36 PM

bter.com is brand new and unknown, hard to read, with large withdrawal requirements.

cryptonit should not be used due to measures which are a standard for recordkeeping that they simply ignore.. I.E. If they crash they may not know how many coins belong to whom.

Just putting a fair warning out there, search the form for my reasons why
1487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there anywhere I can by LTC using Paypal? on: April 28, 2013, 07:54:22 PM
I dont mean to sound nasty but what the hell is wrong with you? Dont use paypal... the point of cryptocurrencies is that we dont need paypal. Paypal/ebay is a money-hungry corporation that wants to suck fees out of you. I understand that ebay is used a lot, well if we stopped using it and made out own (like bitmit) then it wouldnt suck because people use it. Your actions directly effect this community, and when you contribute to the community then people notice and get on board. I will never use paypal again personally. I highly suggest using dwolla and you can pm me for a referral. On the same note, I also suggest you DO NOT use Mt.Gox for the same reasons. Use campbx, theres a referral for that as well, in my sig. Dont get me wrong, im not just saying this shit to get you to use my referrals, i could care less really how you sign up for what.. Just putting my opinion out there.

1488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FC][PPLNS][POOL] Payout in 10 Conf - DDoS Protection - *BONUS* on: April 28, 2013, 06:58:58 PM
cgminer tells me that the pool is not providing work fast enough.  Also, lots more rejects/stales compared to other pools for me, same settings.  Any chance of stratum?

I agree.. I am having the same problem here
Paid Shares
Your Valid: 73063
Invalid: 3202
thats a lot of invalid shares.. Perhaps turn up the difficulty? or incorporate something like VARDIFF from wemineltc?? Lot of loss of shares.
1489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRC: Crazy Rabbit Coin : Alt coin with Awesome Premine for Me and my friends on: April 28, 2013, 06:20:32 PM
I'm already mining!

BUT- it's not going to be what you think. It will be a nice/funny surprise.

In the end, I decided to stick with SHA-256 for the time being- retask something that already exists. Lets see what happens. There is a fix though for the difficulty issue that TRC encountered- if there have been no blocks for a certain amount of short time, the difficulty will readjust to 1. This will allow for crazy/wild difficulty fluctuations. But my hope is that it will look like a sine-wave and will become predictable in it's movement. It's a real experiment.

There is a special secret social factor that might (might) keep it from being 51% at the beginning. It will be interesting to see what happens. There will be indeed a great amount of pressure to "move the chain" however. I'll explain later.

The goal of the 'crc' is similar to that of TRC- to help people learn about Bitcoin, about using Bitcoin and making services for Bitcoin- all without actually using Bitcoin. Maybe even make a coin or two in profit along the way.

:-)

Pm me some windows magic for this? ill throw some hashes at it

1491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRC: Crazy Rabbit Coin : Alt coin with Awesome Premine for Me and my friends on: April 28, 2013, 07:22:08 AM
Hmmm,

So how quickly would you want CRC to be on CCE, the largest Alt-coin explorer site in the world?  Cheesy

How much pre-mining licensing is it worth, for that kind of exposure??.. Tongue

I agree... I would push the coin too, and help other ways.. like test-mining, but not on any kind of testnet... Pre-test-premine-mining

1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I wanna design a new crypt coin, what features do u think should be included in? on: April 28, 2013, 06:56:57 AM
Change the Scrypt parameters to make it more memory intensive and destroy the cost/performance ratio of GPUs.
very good idea
