Be prepared for BTC to approach single digits and possibly even fractions of a penny before this is over.  They stand the theoretical probability to rebound once an agreement or framework is reached but this story is definitely over for a while.  Be aware of what you are dealing with - for a period of time you may feel a BTC is worth $1000 but the market may only be giving you 1 penny. Wink

One of your posts yesterday says you're riding BTC all the way to $8500.  Which is it?

Haha. Busted. I guess he must be bored.
14842  Other / Off-topic / Re: Utopia Drug Marketplace Shut Down by Dutch Police on: February 13, 2014, 06:16:44 PM
amazing! 1 week. The owners got snitched before it went live or some other shit? I think I could host clear net CP site in USA or anti-putin page in Russia for twice as long Cheesy

Haha, it will be interesting to see the details of the case when they release it. It's bizarre.
14843  Other / Off-topic / Re: can you help me? on: February 13, 2014, 06:13:15 PM
Why would you want Bitcoins when they're gonna be worthless according to you https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=461853.msg5099516#msg5099516?
14844  Other / Off-topic / Re: Online Shop that accepts BTC !!!! on: February 13, 2014, 06:08:54 PM
If this isn't spam or a scam it should go over in Service Announcements: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0 You can move it there yourself.
14845  Other / Off-topic / Re: First bitcoin related suicide? on: February 13, 2014, 06:06:44 PM
On your suicide thoughts; http://www.gabrielhummel.com/2011/03/11/feeling-suicidal-the-world-is-your-oyster/ do whatever the fuck you want wherever the fuck you want Smiley

Generally, I think seriously depressed people lose the will to do anything, so I don't know where they'll get the motivation to go crazy and yolo themselves.
14846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "‘Bad news is good news for Bitcoin" - nice article about BTC. on: February 13, 2014, 05:53:03 PM
I have lost count of the number of times bitcoin has "died". It is usually pronounced dead by someone who just heard about bitcoin and has discovered a fatal flaw we all missed.  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is "dead" once cryptoplebs realise it wasn't that magical ever-growing get rich quick scheme they thought it was.
14847  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014 is NOT the year of bitcoin, sorry on: February 13, 2014, 05:38:41 PM
Two bad weeks in February and it's a "bad year"?

What was wrong with January? We had a very stable price and a steady stream of good if not amazing news.

People were even complaining that bitcoin got boring. It should be boring, because this is a time when tons of infrastructure work is being done behind the scenes. Remember all the VC that's been dumped into BTC startups last year? That money will take some time to surface as new services. By summer, if not sooner, we'll be seeing the fruits of that investment.

Time moves fast in Bitcoinworld. Two months is essentially 3-4 months in real time  Cheesy.

2014 will be the year of the bitcoin ATM! It's all about easing the transformation and making it accessible. Bitcoin is only 'crashing' right now to help those who feel they missed the boat also get on board... Satoshi probably built it into the source code  Wink

I'm sure these ATMs will start popping up all over the place during the course of the year. This year has gotten off to a arguably bad / slow start, but I'm sure this will change soon enough. I think people just start panicking if their money isn't growing like they'd hope, but those people are probably in Bitcoin for the wrong reasons anyway.
14848  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 6 min post limitation on: February 13, 2014, 02:40:36 PM
My account is still classed as newbie but I don't seem to have the newbie restrictions anymore, at least not the full 360 seconds.

They changed the membergroups a few weeks ago. The time limits go down the more activity you get.

The 360 second rule counts down on spams greatly, I dont want to think about what these forums would be like if you could post nonstop as much as you want.

Also, there is a 90 second search limitation too.  If you want to get around this, Google the same thing you were to search on here.  It will pull up results that are threads in this forum.

Search limit also goes down the more activity you get.

The nature of these sites is just so shady and risky. Drugs should just be legalised and regulated. If people want to take drugs they should be allowed to do so safely and without fear of punishment.

Move to Portugal, then... Where drug use is considered a mental issue versus a criminal offense.

You shouldn't have to move. Their system still isn't perfect either. I wouldn't call casual drug use a mental issue.
14850  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think? on: February 13, 2014, 02:33:18 PM

Buzzkill. I wonder what they were actually testing?
14852  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: February 13, 2014, 12:36:40 PM
Here's a good movie from a few years back if you didnt catch it... "Source Code."  Good drama

I watched that a couple of years ago on LoveFilm. Was pretty good, seeing the same scene over and over reminded me of Memento which is a great film, definitely recommended to those who haven't seen it.

I thought it was ok, got a bit tedious in the end. I preferred his previous film Moon.

I still need to watch that. It's one of those films that I keep saying that I'll watch but when I'm ready to watch a film it will completely blank me.

Moon and Source Code are two completely different movies. I liked Moon but I found it a bit bland in parts. Duncan Jones is going to direct the World of Warcraft movie. I wonder how that'll turn out.

You're kidding me? There's going to be a WoW movie? I mean sure it's big, but a movie about it? Will watch that space haha.

I kid you not: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0803096/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_1 I don't care for it though. It'll probably just be a cheesier lower-budget version of LOTR.
14853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VideoLAN (VLC Media Player) now accepting bitcoin donations on: February 13, 2014, 12:23:45 PM
VLC media player is great. Pretty much plays anything you throw at it.
14854  Economy / Services / Re: We will pay you to advertise our site in your sig.. Post your asking price here! on: February 13, 2014, 12:22:38 PM
You probably should lock the thread if this is not currently open to new users or people will just keep signing up.

Or at least edit the title of the thread to [currently closed] or something.
14855  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-12] coindesk.com - Major African Bank trials bitcoin integration. on: February 13, 2014, 11:57:13 AM
How reliable is this news? I'll believe it when the Standard Bank website posts about it.

Yeah, I was a bit sceptical too. Especially with that crappy screenshot or whatever was posted as 'proof'.
14856  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-2-10] Valley News Live - Can you Really Make Money on Bitcoins? on: February 13, 2014, 11:56:12 AM
In 2010, the exchange rate was 1 USD for 1,000 to 1,500 BTC.

Now it is reversed.

So yes. You can make money.  Grin

Yeah, but you can also lose it - see recent crash. But at least you can just hold the coins and they usually bounce back pretty swiftly.

Annoys me when newbs bring this up when they don't know what they're talking about.

Yeah, newbs gonna newb. Most of them who bring this up have never even made or received a Bitcoin transaction.
14859  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will The Government Ever Find a way to Regulate Bitcoin? on: February 13, 2014, 11:49:26 AM
Governments aren’t just gonna sit back and let us use and launder this money for free. They're going to want their cut. Regulation is inevitable in some form.
14860  Other / Off-topic / Re: Check out what I found at work today. on: February 13, 2014, 11:48:05 AM
We should get a Bitcoin stamp made and mark all our notes with a little BTC. That would be ominous.
