Maybe Bitcoin Porn's avatar still works because he didn't went to his profile page and saved it in the meantime... Hell, that guy hasn't been active here for months. If you hadn't gone and change your sig, your avatar would still be working  I swear that I didn't go to my profile page to try to change my avatar. I only went there to see why if it was no longer there and then tried to upload it again. Seriously, can we no longer upload animated GIF's? It doesn't meatter what yiu changed in your profile page, as long as you press save it will be a new save, so anything that isn't allowed will be converted to the new format. For instance, if you had an image in your sig it would remain there, but if you went to your profile to do something elese, or even do nothing, if you pressed the save nutton it would remove the image you had on your sig. To be clear, I did not go to my profile until I noticed that the animated image was missing. The only thing I saw was https:// and nothing else. What used to be there was the complete link to the wiki page that I acquired the image from. But I'm not making a federal case out of it. The thing is, Bruno, that was made that way to avoid non-ssl links on the hotlinked avatars, to avoid freaking out users because some lame browsers **cough**chrome**cough** show a red cross on the ssl bar when there are non-ssl elements on the page. You can see that happening right now on this page because you hotlinked the gif on the first post using a non-ssl link  When your gif gets uploaded to the forum as an attachment it is converted into a png, so there goes the animation. But I put a lot of thought into which avatar to use. (give me time to rephrase that) Are you saying that nobody has an animated avatar now. Before you answer that, allow me to to direct you to this guy's avatar, which still seems to be working.  Is that BitcoinPorn ? Discrimination seems frequent on these forums  You got that shit right! Via reddit: I'm sincerely interested in what's going on with the ellet. I was actually looking forward to seeing it, and just wondered why we weren't getting any updates on it. I understand you've got a business to run and can't just tell me everything. Just curious as to when/if to expect an official ellet announcement. My response (copying here for clarity): I've fired one engineer for reasons of a professional nature and actually added 2 more to handle different aspects of the technology involved, we had some issues with our manufacturing agent as well due to disagreements on a very expensive design concept for the final prototype, and my personal director of operations has had a stomach flu for about a week. No one is more annoyed of a lack of announcements than I, but there is nothing to announce just yet. I believe next week will be a bit different and for those subscribed to the Bitcoin Magazine ( http://subscribe.bitcoinmagazine.net) they'll get a sneak peak before anyone else.
