Totally agree - the whole eBay process is a nightmare, and it's worse if you're the seller because there are so many scammer buyers out there that know all the tricks.  But in general my experience has been that it's almost always favors the buyer.  Literally any time I've had an issue on there, it's always worked out for me in the end - but it typically was time consuming.  But to be honest, if something this cheap went sideways, I'd probably just write it off.

The answer to eBay and PayPal will be here soon:  https://blog.openbazaar.org

Batch 6 orders started shipping!

Order date:  2015-11-05 06:53:43

Nothing yet for B4 or 5.

I've just got an indication of batch 4 shipment (11/5 order), nothing re B5 and B6 so far.
My guess, they are being produced simultaneously, hence the monster diff rise.

You're probably right about the diff rise.  They are testing the rigs before boxing them up and shipping them out.

AntMiner S7 BATCH 6 with 4.05th/s is available to order. Shipping may start between Dec. 7 ~ Dec. 17 (if shipped out 5 days later than it, it won't be considered as delay ).

You had me going there for a moment...  It "was" available to order.  It is sold out for US and UK.  It is still available for China buyers.

Never have your bank account tied to PayPal only a credit card. I have found that Discover Card is hands down the best. If your in the right on a problem with a seller bypass PayPal and file your complaint with Discover. They will give you the credit instantly and fight PayPal for you. I was a power seller on EBay and have used PayPal since its start. Trust me you have to protect yourself and never give them access to your bank account.

I might learn something here.

Does this mean one can credit their Discover Card from their PayPal account?  Meaning can we send money from our PayPal account [After we sold something] to our Discover Card account?

After seeing his feedback "as a seller," I would not do a damn thing with him.  Irresponsible sellers like that piss me off!!!!

Yeah, I didn't look at that before I purchased them - but TBH I wouldn't care, as PayPal has things covered and the price was so cheap it's worth taking a flyer on.  I'm surprised that no one else (I mean legit company) offers something like these - but while there are ducting solution for 120mm, none of the ones I found were meant to marry them to 4" flexduct.

The complaints are on some pretty random stuff - precious metal scrap?  Reminds me of those signs you see on the pawn shops saying they buy 'scrap gold'... Like there is such a thing.  Wink

you have to be VERY careful with paypal and its complaint window..

i had an ebay order once take a very long time to ship and the seller kept saying it will be soon.. and when i finally complained i missed the deadline and i lost my money..

I totally agree.  That's why I submit a complaint the moment the ship date was not met to get the ball rolling.  If the seller doesn't like my complaint, that's tough.  They should have shipped it when they said they were going to ship it.  If they submit a negative feedback on me, eBay will gladly delete the feedback.  I've had eBay delete negative feedback for me twice under similar circumstances.  So, yes, one must be VERY careful to submit complaints in a timely manner.

I would say I have to agree with you there.  It's chump change and PayPal has you covered.  I just don't like waiting on things to get worked out.  Especially, if there are issues.

Good luck.  Let us know how it went.

Is there anymore of the 3D printed fan adapter for sale?

Is there a 3D print file available online?

I bought some very similar ones from a guy on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/bitcoin-antminer-s1-s2-s3-s4-s5-s7-zeus-lightning-thunder-fan-air-duct-/252171861712?hash=item3ab69d3ed0:g:vbkAAOSwPcVV20xa

The price is good and the quality is very good also - he definitely has a better touch than I had with my Reprap.  Wink

His feedback though is terrible. I don't think I have ever traded with anybody that had an 80% feedback rating. It's a cheap item though.

Totally off topic... but you have a beautiful house Smiley

yeah, I second that...I would like to live in a more wooded area. Which state is it (somewhere North East)?

Hoover, Alabama

OT: Houston here, but we have a similar area up north a bit-Woodlands (name speaks for itself)-great for families w/kids, lots of space.

Agreed, about similar area as the northeast but I like the shape of the trees more in the northeast and northwest [More like Christmas trees].  Yes, plenty to do outdoors around here.  We have nice State parks, lakes, hunting, etc.  We are located at the foothills of the smokey mountains.  Houston, is a bit flat with as close as it is to the ocean.  Although, I don't mind flat when it's close to the ocean.  I just got back from vacation in Naples, Florida and Marco Island, Florida.  Quite flat down there.

I wasn't leaving it up long.  Only wanted to leave it there about 30 minutes or so to disprove the previous statement about home mining being over.  It all depends on how far one is willing to go with managing noise.

Also, don't believe the hype about PSU's lasting no more than a year.

Two entirely different systems; one bad S7 not hashing with a APW3-12-1600-B2 from Bitmain and one good S7 using its own APW3-12-1600-B2.

I'm assuming you have swapped PSU's to see if it's the same results?

Yes, I believe I have tried everything.

The whole episode is very odd indeed.

I am running my S7 with the RM 1000 and RM 850. The only problem I have is I notice the 850 felt warm and did not see the fan running as both fans only turn on when needed so they are hard to know if the fans are working or not. I went ahead and placed a fan to blow air thru it and it's much cooler now. But they have been running the miner fine for going on a couple weeks+ now.
I run all of mine with three rm1000 for two s7.
You probably have the 850 on one hash board and the 1000 on the other two.
The 850 will only be pulling 400watts so the fan won't spin.
The 1000 fan will spin because it is pulling 800 watts.
For me all three rm1000 fans spin because they are all pulling 800 watts.
I did have a problem where one of the rm1000 did not switch on even with the jumper.
Caused the miner to think that two blades were partially on but only hashed at 1.5th.
Sometimes the controller lies. I would think that with no power to two boards that only one set of chips would show up. Not the case. I put a spare rm1000 in place of it and it worked fine after that.
I had to rma the rm1000. They sent me a brand new one. They have 5 year warranty. Ax860 ax series has a seven year warranty.
I did get four bitmain 1600 watt psu's so they would fit in a smaller rack.
They have been running fine since I got them.

[/quote]

You are correct about the fan rarely coming on [IF AT ALL] when the 850 is pulling only 400 of it's available 850 watts.  My Corsair AX860's are the same way.  During the winter [When the ambient is very low] the fans on my AX860's would hardly ever come on.

However, what is odd with his is the bit about the controller that was taken off of a working S7 would not work on the one he initially had problems with.  THEN, when he moved the controller back to the original S7 it was taken from, he began to have the same issues with that S7.  The entire episode sounds very unusual for sure.  I'm kind of leaning towards a defective PSU myself.

EDIT:  Unless he is using the same PSU on the same S7's and has not gone back to the original PSU the S7's that were working fine with before swapping controllers.

My father uses this:
http://www.digital-loggers.com/220.html

And I use the smaller "home" version to power cycle a couple servers I have. They become pretty powerful due to their scripting capabilities.

Wow!  Interesting...

I'll have to check this out in more detail.

Much appreciated.

Thanks!

So now that batch 6 is sold...what can you even buy, from anywhere ?  Huh

Theres pretty much no new consumer miners available now.

Patience.

I cracked open my power supplies and tweaked them to be putting out 12.25V +/- 0.005V at a 50% load. It made a WORLD of difference with the S7's. My power supplies were ranging from 11.6V to 11.8V under load, I was getting some hardware errors but it wasn't so bad. I was trying to see if the voltage was the reason why the fifo buffers keep tossing the error that they are empty. It didn't fix that issue, but the HW errors went to 0.0000x ( beyond the readings ability )

For information, I'm using Delta DPS-1200FB 1200W power supplies, 2 hashboards per power supply, and used an S5 pulling right at 600W as the load when calibrating all the power supplies.

That's precisely the reason I believe they came out with batch 6 having 135 chips.  I believe they were receiving too many tickets for high HWE's and sub-par hash rates from people not having PSU's with 12.0+ Volts DC.  I could be wrong but it's highly possible.

Nicehash doesn't do merged mining.  Someone rented your hash and pointed it to another SHA-256 coin pool most likely.

Sounds logical.

Oh, damn. I didn't think of that.

Nicehash has merged mining?

I know they mine several different coins.  I would not be surprised if there is merged mining there.
1520  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 12, 2015, 03:59:59 PM
On another note, I've been reading S7 support threads lately and I'm a noticing a theme around heat related issues with the earlier batches. I wonder if they pushed the S7 family out the door a bit soon and B6 was nothing more than a drastic correction to avoid burnouts. (house fires?)

I think it's more to do with many using PSU's with less than 12.0 volts DC.  Hence, the new design that's able to run stable with low NWE's at 11.6 Volts DC.  Many may have created tickets because of PSU's lacking 12.0 Volts minimum.

Could be what you said though.  However, I hope possible fire is not the case.
