4) I personally believe that the GIGAMINING share are now worth zero as (so far anyway) there is no method to sell or transfer them to anyone else
The pending BTC is 3984 for 40,000 shares, so they are at least 3984 / 40,000 = 0,0996 BTC each.

Quote from: Can I get a refund on my pre-order?
Butterfly Labs, INC. is accepting pre-orders for ASIC based products, expected to begin shipping in late November or early December 2012. Your pre-order with payment confirms your place in line for delivery once we begin shipping. Payments made for pre-orders of ASIC based products now under development should be considered non-refundable until products begin shipping or 1 January 2013, whichever is earlier.
So at the moment they are not yet shipping and it's still 2012, so at the moment the orders are non refundable.
But, I still don't know what the law will tell us about it.
1505  Other / Archival / Re: Warning, ALL BFL PRE-ORDERS ARE NON REFUNDABLE - CONFIRMED BY INABA on: December 10, 2012, 08:18:29 AM
What does the american law say about that?
If the law says you must be able to cancel and get a refund if it takes longer than twice the time they say when you order, they have to give a refund, even if it says something else in their policy because the law is more important.
I'm not sure what law they must follow for orders in other countries, for example for me. The dutch law because I order it from within the Netherlands, or the american law because they are an american company.

They range in price from $149 to $29,899, and in early 2013 they will start shipping to over a thousand customers who placed advance orders.

I guess Giga's already been delisted from MPEx
That's not giga himself, it's a pass-through.
But I wouldn't trust MPEx. Not sure why, probably just a feeling.

1510  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just what is a clock buffer anyway? on: November 29, 2012, 07:19:43 AM
You can think of an electric circuit like a network of waterpipes.
When you need a high level of water on the other side of the pipe you let water in. You try to keep the level at a certain hight at the beginning, water will flow until the level at the end is the same.
The same happens with electricity, but much faster. You rise the voltage at one end, current starts flowing and the voltage rises at the other end.
The parts in a chip for the calculation are usually very close together, so you just need a little current and a short time to rise the voltage.
The clock signal however, is needed at many places so the current to rise the voltage in many endpoints needs to be a lot higher.
The clock signal is not like a single pipe that needs to be filled with water, but a complete network of many pipes.
If you cut the pipe network into smaller pieces, the smaller pieces are filled much faster. At the end of the smaller pieces you place a device that will open a watertap to fill the part after it.
The clock buffer is something like this, it reacts on the clock and outputs more current than it receives so that the circuit can have a big clock network.

GLBSE is unwilling to give the entire list of 40k.
Then why is the total number of shares on the list 40697 ?
1512  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Serious ASIC question - ASIC Manufacturers Please Respond! on: November 27, 2012, 06:06:32 AM
I dont even understand why we can't see old revisions.  Hey... this is the 6 core hashing at 60 gh/s... just wait till we show you the 8 core!   (In roll the orders...)
If a hashing chip hashes at 60Ghash/s with a clock of 100MHz, there are 60G / 100M = 600 unrolled cores or 600 * 125 = 75000 rolled cores or 300 unrolled cores @ 200 MHz or or or... the total speed, energy consumption and price are all what matters.
1513  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Serious ASIC question - ASIC Manufacturers Please Respond! on: November 26, 2012, 07:29:14 AM
Why can not one single company give us something real and concrete to work with?
I want to know exactly how fast the new CPU's from Intel and AMD are that come out in a few months. Where can I find those numbers?
1514  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: November 24, 2012, 09:35:10 PM
Theory like that.

Let's suppose Nefario removed some real asset holders from the list, to put false information for addresses controlled by him.  Based on the data GLBSE requested to make an account, it's probably a bunch of usernames with BTC address and assets ID. It's not that hard for Nefario to create a dozen of BTC addresses and simply change some of the address in the list. What happen if gigavps blindly follow the list without any verification?

Don't forget Nefario IS a scammer and has proven himself untrustworthy.

I don't own any gigamining assets, I'm simply looking at that and consider that gigavps is in a "damned if you, damned if you don't" situation.

To be honest, the only reason I vote for scammer tag is because he's gone to a lawyer. I understand that many on this forum aren't anarchists, but from an anarchist's point of view, going to a lawyer to solve your disputes is like going to your local KKK.

Calling a criminal organization for help is never a good idea.

What's the alternative? It's shitty, no doubt. Had I been in Giga's shoes I never would have contacted a lawyer to get the list, which means I likely never would have gotten the list, which means all share holders get F'ed. I probably would have just donated all of the proceeds to charities or something. At least then I couldn't be accused of benefiting from others' loss.
Anarchism is such a stupid thing.
If giga would be an anarchist he would just keep the bitcoins. If someone comes whining about it, he just hires some big guys to break the bones of the whiner. The whiner won't go to the police or what ever because of '**** the regime'.

All I read 'between the lines' is that he wants to honor the contract.
The contract says he pays the amount 5Mhash/s gives.

I call it getting GLBSE'D

Definition: You invest coins in a bitcoin project and that project uses your coins to hire a lawyer who proceeds to use legal avenues to make it practically impossible you will get your bitcoins back.

GLBSE'D
Can anyone point my to the post where gigavps tells if he pays the lawyer with the bitcoins invested by other people? I can't seem to find it.
1517  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: November 22, 2012, 03:14:24 PM
gigavps,

when was this last dividend payment you did through glbse?

thanks.

There is a list on http://gigamining.com/
10/1/2012 is the last one paid, 10/8/2012 the first one not yet paid.

If they did not allow refunds i might agree. But since they do, no scammer tag for them.
At http://www.butterflylabs.com/index.php?s=refund they say :

In my opinion a good refund will be when the customer wants it, not a condition like this.
