1521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel shameful for being a gambler? on: February 25, 2017, 01:51:03 PM
Go guys!
In many cultures and countries is gambling consider as a bad thing which only the poorest and silliest ones do. Many gamblers try to hide that they gamble from their friends and families and feel really shameful for that. Do you consider gambling as a bad thing? Do you feel shameful or proud for being a gambler? If it is shame what you feel what do you about it? How do you hide you're a gambler and who do you hide it from?
Let others know!

If I lived in a country that was culturally against gambling then I would be ashamed to gamble so I would probably move to a country that was more culturally consistent with my values.  I would not do anything that I felt like I had to hide because it was socially unacceptable.  I gamble but it's not socially unacceptable where I am located.  I do not hide my activity but at the same time, I do not generally share too much of my accounting information unless it is necessary.  I don't hide what I do, but I don't share what I do either.

You're roght in there dude. It depends on how far you'd go for gambling if gambling is that much importsnt for you. If it's illegal in your country, then move or avoid gambling. I dont think a lot of people would go as far as leaving their families and lived once for the sske of gambling legally. If gambling plays a very big part in your life, then i think there's a problem there. If it affects how you interact with people especially family, then there's something to be ashamed of there
1522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone ever stop gambling? but then gamble again? on: February 25, 2017, 01:46:10 PM
Most of the gambling addicts decided to stop gambling and then they just resumed the gambling activities just a few days after.
It is not an easy mission to quit gambling and most of the people who quits will return to gamble at some point in their life.

Well i don't see anything wrong with resumung your gambling after you quit. Sometimes, there are heavy reasons why people quit gambling and those reasons may be life changing. People learn their lessons  be it the hard way or the easy way. If somethung happened to you before that made you stop gambling, like your family left you or you went broke, i think you'll learn already how to weigh in the more important things in your life. So the next time you gamblr again, you should be more in control knowing and experiencing thr consrquences already.
1523  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you eat a human? on: February 24, 2017, 02:01:32 PM
I would not eat human flesh. It is also not a moral one. Once we start to eat human flesh then we will seek human flesh all the time , then we will kill people for flesh. Every where human forms will be opened like poultry and  pig forms. Here comes the problem of morality.
I think i can. If the situatiin is thst dire that it would require me to consume human flesh, i won't say i wouldn't. Though im not into murdering a person just to eat flesh. Cannibalism is despiccable but for survival situations, and if its already a dead person, i think there's not going to be much option. Survival situatiins bring the worst and best among all of us
1524  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UNESCO declares Islam as the most peaceful religion of the world on: February 24, 2017, 01:57:07 PM
Bahahahahaha lmao omg I am actually laughing out loud at work, people think I am crazy.  THE MOST PEACEFUL BHAHAHAHAHAHA omg wow. just wow.

If you took the time to read whole OP you would have seen it's not a real statement Wink

It's just a hoax, and anyway I don't see why UNESCO would make any statement about a religion status.
That's not its role.

Yuuup that's right. Talking about religion, especially something that would put one over the other, would generate much controversy and i think unesco people are smarter to think about that. There's no basis as to which is better or which is more peaceful. Violence is already in human's nature and it doesnt matter which religion you belong to.
1525  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is there truest religion? on: February 24, 2017, 01:52:49 PM
I choose respect over all religions here. By birth and culture, im a catholic christian. But i think we tend to overlook a lot of things by arguing and fighting which teachings are correct. I don't think the truest religion would either be christianity or islam or any other. What would be our basis to detrrmine this? A lot of lives throughout history has been lost fighting over something that could've been avoided by having mutual respect and understanding.
1526  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: February 24, 2017, 01:44:58 PM
why are all terror activities carried out in the world are by people of muslim religion? Why cant muslims let peace be there in the world? Are people of only muslim origins terrorist?so trumps decision by banning muslim is 100% correct?

I definitely don't agree to this. I think this belief is because these muslim terrorists and bombers are more reported in mainstream media and sicial media. Terrorism is not only about suicide bombings and kidnappings and beheadings. Everyday there are terrorisms dine not only be muslims. There are extremists who, through thr help of media, have been successfully sowing fear among people and doing it in the name of islam. I think these are very minimal and most muslims wouldn't agree eith how these people think. Most muslims i know are even more peace loving and respectful than those from my religion.
1527  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poll: Is the creation of artificial superinteligence dangerous? on: February 24, 2017, 01:38:00 PM
I don't think we will ever reach the point where we will create a hard AI, soft AI is everywhere and it is useful but to create an AI that can do everything will be an enormous task, while the predictions seem to suggest we may reach that point in 2050 I disagree the prediction have always been wrong so I think it will be a matter of hundreds if not thousands of years.

Well i think its possible. Though not to the point that it would be beyond any human's control that it will become a threat to us. Technology is moving very fast and it may not take even a decade before we can come up with that hard ai you're talking about. But everything will still be under human control however intelligent ais can be
1528  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is science a religion? on: February 24, 2017, 01:32:22 PM
No, science cannot be a religion. Science is a organized knowledge which is understood through observation and experiments. It has no spiritual fact. On the other hand, religion is the belief in God and also worship of a superhuman power or spiritual things. It's come from the faith. So, we can differentiate science and religion by this factor.

Religion does not always have a belief in God... at least not formally or directly. There are religions in India that are this way, and many Chinese religions have ancestor worship rather than God worship as the base of their religion.

Cool

Are you saying you have been wasting time believing in YOUR God?

What? You can't read? Who in the world reads the stuff in the forum for you?

Cool

I kinda got your point there sir. Yeah religiin doesnt necessarily have to be a certain god. Some people believe that evrything came from nature and that in the end we all would go back to it. Some people believe that past personalities are worth following more than any diety. Religion i think is not confined to worshipping. There are some religiins that doesnt rewuire worship, only belief and trust
1529  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: February 24, 2017, 01:16:04 PM
I dont think hate is the right word, we dont like religion and the negative aspects of it. If someone says something against something that doesnt mean hate. Everyone has the right to their opinion as long as they dont insult i think

The thing you are talking about is hating people of a different religion. Neither do people of other religions hate you or other atheists (generally). But the theists should hate the religion of atheism, because it is destroying the chance for people to gain eternal life.

Cool

Well i respect yout view here but i don't think this prospect of eternal life doesnt depend on which religion you belong to. As long as you treat other people with respect and be kind and do no harm to others, i think you're entitled to this eternal life you're talking about, if ever there is on. Im a christian but i think there's too much division already when people are talking about religion. So sometimes i understand why atheists think like that. We tend to focus too much on the religion itself when we shoukd be thinking about how we should be to other people and the environment
1530  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Negative effects of technology on: February 24, 2017, 01:02:57 PM
Technology change everything. Look at kids these days. They play on their ipads whole day. They are relying more on technology. Me, when i was child. I always play on our backyard with my friends. And thats makes me feel so happy. Im just playing all day with my friends. And this is what i want for my kids when im gonna have a family. I want to make them feel how happy the chialdhood is.

Well technology has its positive and negative effects. Not just in iyr family but mankund in general. Of course, the advancements in communication and medicine are the main changes that i think became beneficial for us. Its easier to be in touch with loved ones even if they're in a different country and most deseases already now have a cure. The downside is that most corrupt people can take advantage of this as well. Warfare would be different and more destructive this time with all the advancement. A third world war most likely would see the end of us. While it can take us clise to loved ones that are far from us, it can also separate us with people with us at the moment.
1531  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your view on Alien or Alien life? Does it exists? on: February 24, 2017, 12:48:57 PM
Many of the people in world believe that Alien life exists. There are also many evidences related to alien life, extra terrestrial way, warm hole (from which they can travel through galaxies). What's your view on alien life. Does it even exists? Or it's just a rumor.

Well i believe in aliens. Though its not the likes that we see in the movies. Realistically we wouldn't yet know hiw these being looks like. We've only observed a very small part of the universe. If you think that we're alone here, then you have to think again. Its impossible that a little speck like the earth would contain the only life in even just this galaxy. Its possible that we may even be too small and irrelevant that these beings don't nitice us from where they are.
1532  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: February 24, 2017, 12:38:00 PM
Hi guys. Just wanted to know whether drinking is good or bad for our health...first of all i drink every weekend because i feel refreshed after a heavy week of work..  After i drink i take a lot of food and have a nice sleep....I do not have any kind of headache or anything after drinking but will it affect me in the future.... My dad almost drinks everyday right from his childhood may b at the age of 18 but my dad is healthy and strong even after drinking so many years... Thanks to god for that....... Any way,  When it comes to your health, is it better to drink or not to drink?

Well i think it's its ok to drink alcohol if you don't do it too much. I've known a lot of people who got sick by drinking alcohol. I personally feel that it is healthy if you do it ocassionally but excessive consumption, not just with alcohol, definitely have its bad effects. I've even heard people dying after getting too drunk, some met accidents, others get heart attacks. If your doctor tells you that its bad, then unfortunately i think you have to avoid it.
1533  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people believe in religion? on: February 24, 2017, 12:29:29 PM
There are many religious people on earth. Even the vast majority of the world believes in monotheistic religions.
And often they do not question belief systems. There are many people who have Christian, Muslim and Jewish beliefs.

Why do they still believe in religion. I can not understand why people believe in religions in the age when we can reach the information so quickly.

Well sometimes, religion determines a person's personality. I agree that in this age, logic and fact can easily make you understand things that previously were relied on blind faith. Though i think religion sometimes brings out the best in a person. Believing in the bible's teaching certainly will make someone treat other people better. If you look at it, at the core of any religion, its about respect towards others and i think thats the best thing about it.
1534  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War III ? on: February 24, 2017, 12:20:24 PM
People stop what war? Are you talking about ?! I am from Russia and we are not here to see prices in question is not about a war with the United States, who forces you to think ?! Media, Internet, TV
 Undecided

If you are from Russia, then you may be already knowing that there is hardly any chance of a military confrontation between the US and the Russia happening, at least for the next 10-15 years. And the defeat of Hillary has confirmed it.

You're right here dude. That's also one of the first things that came to my mind when trump won as president. There may be a lot of things that i don't agree with trump's policies but i think in trump's victory, we may have  just averted war. Putin may find it a lot easier to talk to trump than clinton and avoiding war with russia may very well cover for all trump's uncoventional decisions recently
1535  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Any religion accepting bitcoin as donations? on: February 24, 2017, 12:13:14 PM
Anyone know any religion accepting bitcoin as form of charity or donation?

I don't know a specific religion that accepts btc, but hey, donations are donations and i don't think any religion who gets donations from their members would decline one in btc. There's already a wide use for bitcoin nowadays and it can also be converted to any local currency so the answer would certainly be yes, btc will br accepted as donation
1536  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why bitcoins illegal ???? on: February 24, 2017, 12:09:41 PM
that's right they are panning to put taxes with exchange so they can benefits with btc, might be much better instead of banning bitcoin we should be happy if government will place some actions to make some earnings too like taxing local exchange in our respective countries in this way adoption or recognizing bitcoin will be much possible in every nations.

That depends on the government. If they think that the benefits (tax revenue, reduction of crime.etc) will be more than the drawbacks (tax evasion, dark markets.etc), then they will legalize and regulate the Bitcoins.

Yeah i think there are already some countries in asia that's looking into and making studies on how to make bitcoin beneficial both to the government and its citizens. I've read that in the philippines, the central bank there is already finding ways to legalize bitcoin. I think we're niw in an age when digital currency would be introduced and more country would implement its use, nit just bitcoin but digital currency in general. We may have more people engaging in trading alt coins as well as investing bitcoin for long term. Btc may be illegal in some countries but as more and more people are using it, these countries may have to give in and legalize bitcoin
1537  Other / Politics & Society / Re: About Area 51 alien,ufo etc on: February 24, 2017, 12:01:58 PM
Do you know Area 51 how do you explain ?

Well there's supposed to be something that the government is hiding from us here like aliens and ufos but i think theres more to it than that. I don't think the government can hide something as big as alien contact to the public so effectively. If ever we get contact, i dont think theres any way any government  can keep it or keep hard evidence from normal people. It may very well be something more esrthly or military but i've no idea what that would be
1538  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe in time travel? and if so where would you go and why? on: February 24, 2017, 11:55:41 AM
Time travel is one of my favourite topics! I wrote some time travel stories in a bus used as time machine of my own invention to travel in time, and I would like to start building this Bus Time Machine called Transpotime21bus for real in a crypto project.

]

Do you believe in time travel?

Well i don't believe anyone has ever traveled in time and i think its beyond us to be able to attain this. Imagine if we can actually go back in time to correct wrong things we've done or simply to exlerience things that would matter to us nowbgat we didnt take notice of before. I'd love to think that there eould be a time when we can all do this but there may also be some consequences in the future if ever we have the capability to change the past
1539  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Aliens found on the moon on: February 24, 2017, 11:33:18 AM
Well it is hard to consider that it is true, you'll never know if different lifeforms do truly exist in this expanding universe. There's a lot things we don't know about, and we always scratch the surface but never bother to look inside of it.

This talk about aliens in the moon has been there ever since we got curious about what's out there. I don't think an alien in the moon would not notice us from thatclose and wouldn't make their presence felt. If there's an alien there or if there will be aliens there, inthink we'll all know it without picture evidences. We'll all just have to look up.
1540  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you think Trumps supporters still love him? on: February 24, 2017, 11:27:44 AM
Recent article on CNN went forward and was asking why do you think Trumps base / his supporters still support him even after all the controversies that he's went through within his campaign and his presidency.

I'm going to start off and say that Trumps supporters love him based on the simple fact that he gets shit down and he's fulfilling the promises that he made to them, this is something that they believed in and they wanted. They wanted change and that's what he's giving them. Trump is the grenade that the middle class is throwing into Washington and they're going to see change, immense change.

Here's the article by the way - http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/19/opinions/why-trump-supporters-love-him-not-the-media-stanley/index.html

I think majority of trump's supporters are people who's become tired of the traditional politicians who wanted change and shares his unconventional beliefs. The rrason why they STILL love him is because he hasn't changed anything from what won them over in the campaign. Its seldom that a politician stays true to his campaign promise and i think thats also one of the things these people will support trump to the end of his term. You know his plans and that there may nit be any hidden agendas. Though i think his decisions are really controversial but trumps stands by them and so will his supporters
