1521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should be my fear? on: December 08, 2022, 04:38:59 PM
As a newbie who has a little knowledge of cryptocurrency but much interest in purchasing bitcoin for a long time Hodl, since the purchasing capital is not included in my spendable budget and the price of bitcoin is not very high at the moment 16k, what should be my fear?

Pls, advise me.

As a newbie your only fear would be to avoid a panic sell because of the dumps. All the other things can still be improvised over time.
But you can't do anything if you can't control yourself from selling your own coins.
So stay calm and know that bitcoin is here to stay and it will definitely rise up when the time is right and you need to hold strong.
Other than that you just need to be aware and pay attention on storing your coins in a non-custodial wallet and keeping your keys secure.
1522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much initial startup to Start Cryptocurrency Casino? on: December 08, 2022, 04:34:47 PM
I think it is subjective because for one person $100k would be more than enough to start a casino whereas for the other it would might still not be enough.
Lets make it simple. In order to build an online casino it would require a domain and few developers to build the website.
You will also have to partner with a gaming provider to implement few games and also a support team.
Initial investment of $25k should do the job. Lets take $50k for the bank roll and so a minimum of $75k in the beginning would be needed to start an online casino.
These are just high level estimates and the real estimates could differ a lot.
1523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you experienced this kind of gambling on: December 08, 2022, 04:16:49 PM
This is the first time in my life I am hearing this. I have never seen anyone gambling or making bets based on jersey numbers.
Does this even work ? I mean are there any players who still bet based on this strategy or has anyone won their bets consecutively from this strategy ?
I don't think there's any math involved here and it might just be luck for some of them.
1524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 08, 2022, 04:13:01 PM
As for Brazil and Croatia, there is no doubt for me in choosing Brazil. Chances are still big for them. With several young players who have very good quality and with their complex squad, both the core and reserve squad, this is clearly a real advantage for Brazil. Croatia is indeed a good team too but looking at their current condition it seems that this is still far enough to put up a fight and they can only maximize their focus on defense.
Croatia is looking strong. They might not be able to win, but maybe there's a chance for a tie. Croatia have the defense at hand with the matches that they had, they have the most draw. So I think if they are to be tough and full effort in their defense, they would definitely have that shot on a Draw. I just think that they are capable of doing that. It would be a battle of Offense vs. Defense. Looking forward to the match.

I won't say Croatia is a bad team but when competing against Brazil it is definitely on the weaker side.
They might have a better defense but all in all Brazil's attack is stronger than Croatia's defense according to me.
I think Brazil will win against Croatia with 1 or 2 leading goals.
1525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigerian government set to tax bitcoin and crypto transactions on: December 07, 2022, 04:30:42 PM
The government of Nigeria is set to place bitcoin and other crypto currencies on taxation, come next year. This is part of the country's finance bill 2022 set to be approved. The country's finance minister Ahmed Zainab discussed that the taxation will help regulate digital assets and enhance e-commerce growth.

Recall that the country's apex Bank placed a ban on transactions involving crypto currencies in February 2021. The ban lead to various other banks closing or freezing the accounts of people involved in crypto. The move lead to the current government falling out with the investors in the country.

Moreover, the ban didn't stop its citizens from trading in bitcoin . This has most of the time been done through the P2P transactions on exchanges. The continuous obsession on crypto lead the incumbent vice president to the idea that the country will be better off regulating it rather than banning.

April 2022 the country's security Exchange Commission pushed towards the move to its regulation, stating that a licenced virtual assets service provider must be secured any entity that wishes to run a crypto services within the country. The country has since witness the government leaning towards crypto currency. This has been shown by their partnership with Binance exchange in September this year. It has also offered scholarships to some selected citizens to study blockchain.

My doubts over this recent moves are:

1. Does this means the government is considering the adoption of bitcoin and other crypto currencies?

2. How has the other countries placed on crypto taxation faired so far?

3. Will its regulation helps speeds up its adoption by people within the country?

From the above post it looks that Nigeria is set to adopt crypto by regulating the crypto market.
Although the banks had placed a ban on crypto transactions, now that Nigeria is supporting cryptocurrencies I think the banks will uplift the ban.
Moreover regulation in cryptocurrencies will have its own pros and cons starting with infrastructure for cryptocurrencies but taxing the same.
In my country taxation of cryptocurrencies is not welcoming to the citizens because of flat 30% tax on crypto income.
Lets see how it plays out in Nigeria.

I guess my strategy to bet on the underdogs are not going to pay off in these final matches. So far these upsets has gained me some good profits, but I think things will change now.

The odds for the remaining matches are not going to be as high as in the qualifying and knockout rounds and the chances for an upset is going to be lower.

My two best money spinners has been Germany and Japan.... but I think France and Brazil is going to go to the end.  Huh
I would guess that underdogs was a bit more of a thing during group games, those were recoverable and that's why. I still think that it will be more favourites game to win from here on out. Argentina will get the win, Brazil will, and Spain will, etc etc.

The real trouble begins when England and France plays, and Spain vs Portugal probably, and Brazil vs Argentina, these are the games to look out for because in those games there are no favourites, both teams could win in those games, until that point we will not have anything that will matter that much. Hopefully it will not be something that bothers your betting and you will end up recovering and winning a lot.
That is right, when we see Brazil vs Argentina and I believe it will be France vs Portugal, those games will be really good games, and England vs France is too, and then the finals, these 4 games are definitely amazingly big games and the finals will have a HUGE betting amount, like the whole world will bet on that for sure, it will be like bigger than super bowl without a doubt.

We keep seeing huge rewards and promotions on super bowl, we should be seeing it for world cup finals as well, there needs to be some sort of boost or like a reward for the people who bet on the right world cup winner, on every single casino, and freebitcoin may have a faucet, but their main income is the casino part.

Yeah you are right. I am particularly waiting for Brazil vs Argentina since Argentina has been my favorite since childhood.
Brazil's performance in the last match was too good when compared to Argentina but I wish Argentina wins the match.
On the other side England, France and Portugal matches will be a treat to watch.
1527  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals! on: December 07, 2022, 02:47:03 PM
Any of you guys going to bet on Brazil vs Croatia match ?
I really think Brazil will take it away easily since their performance is really good.
The odds are quite decent. But I am not able to find any timer until which we can place the bet.
Anyone has any idea about that ?

1528  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why make Samuel Bankman-Fried popular for the wrong reason? on: December 05, 2022, 04:50:01 PM
~ forum members who keep their coins in FTZ exchange.
~In the curiosity I have I decided to search SMF in my browser and I saw different meaning and not Samuel Banksman-Fried.

If you don't know the name of the owner, nor the correct name of the exchange if you have to search who the guy was, then why are you so angry at him being "popular" when he obviously isn't as you don't have a clue about him?

Now I go back to my browser to type SMF and it now appear as Samuel Bankman-Fried and other meaning of SMF

I'm actually not sure this is what's happening there, when I type SBF I get results related to the crypto scandal, when I type SMF I don't get any hit, not even in the news, I get news from French and Indonesian sources but nothing about SBF and FTX.

I think we are making a scammer who took the hard work of traders feel good and popular with SMF that is everywhere in the forum.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that after losing 10 billion, with a high chance of getting in jail SBF must be so damn happy that when people search SMF (how many even do this) they get results on how much of a scammer and incompetent he and his team was. You're putting way too much emphasis on how much people normally care about their social media presence or internet exposure, especially in this case.

Anyhow, quite ironically, while complaining about his popularity you just opened a thread with his name and made a lot of people that are curious about your story search for " SBF", exactly the opposite of what you were angry of.

I am so amused with your post, you literally made me laugh. I mean your post is so accurate. LOL
1529  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The patience to hold is a gift on: December 05, 2022, 04:30:04 PM
The key to earn money is through trading and investing. Both might look similar but are yet very different.
For some, trading is more convenient since they don't have to deal with huge price swings and earn quick profits in the short term.
They get the rewards quickly when compared to investing which is a long term process.
We need to hold it no matter in which direction the trend goes in the short term.
This is where many people find their ideal choice of earning money and for me it is investing.
I have tried trading but eventually lost money but when I hold it for a long term it certainly gives huge profits.
1530  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it cool to run Bitcoin full node on Android OS? on: December 04, 2022, 04:24:20 PM
I don't understand the point of running a full node on an Android device. It's more like murdering your phone with poison which kills it slowly day by day.
The battery health will degrade sooner everyday and performance of the device will start decreasing too.
Basically phones are not mean for running a full node. We can simply run a low end processor to run a full node instead.
The cheaper and convenient option would be raspberry pi instead. The cost of running it would be lower along with maintenance.
Running things which are not meant for a device isn't cool. So the idea of running a bitcoin full node on Android isn't really cool.
1531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 04, 2022, 02:20:36 PM
Throughout the match, Messi seemed to be playing alone. He was everywhere in the field. His contribution is the most from the midfield to scoring goals. But when the two goals were scored they were breathing a little but suddenly concede a goal due to their own mistakes by the opponent. After that massive attack started. Both teams play well in the extra time. We have recognize about the contribution of Emiliano Martinez who saved the team from a tough situation. Congratulations to Argentina for a great performance to beat Australia in the knockout stages.
Towards the ending of the game Argentina was playing a defensive game,  Australia was trying their best to equalize but Argentina didn't give them the chance for a second goal  , it was an interesting game from the both teams . Despite how tough Australia was Argentina still maintain their game.
I already knew that Messi will play more than expected in this world cup. He is old but yet younger than Ronaldo and with his nature being closer to the ground,  he has gravity advantage and more balanced on the ground.
This is his last world cup and his last shot in the highest Cup in football.  With the kind of group and featuring Messi is getting he could be lucky to get to the final of the world cup.

Messi was a star in the last match against Australia as without him Argentina would not have won against them. If you see the last 20 mins of the game, Australian team got a lot of chances to level the score but luckily they could not score a goal to level the match. Australian team would be going home for sure but they would have memories form this world cup. They were given too many chances in the end to make the score 2-2 but could not do so.
I must say that it was hard luck for the Australians .

Yes ofcourse. In fact from the two goals Argentina scored, Messis' goal was right on point while the second goal was more of a luck because the goal keeper missed the ball.
So Messi indeed played a good game in the last match. Not to forget the attacks he faced from the Australians.
But yeah, Australian team tried their best but it was a bad day for them unfortunately.

Just thought of placing a bet on Argentina for the upcoming match with Australia but man the odds are low AF.
I wouldn't even think of risking the whole amount for such low odds. Has anyone here placed their bets on this match though ?
Argentina is my favorite team but you never know when the tables turn and the risk is higher at these odds.

Those odds are not so low, they are the same as the odds from the other sportsbooks on average according to Oddsportal.
https://www.oddsportal.com/soccer/world/world-cup-2022/argentina-australia-Ya9wwgP2/#qualify
This is not a bet on 1x2 outcome, this is a bet on the final winner of the match that will qualify the winning team for the quarter finals.
There is no second chance for the losing team here, they will be eliminated from the World Cup at the end of the match, and since Argentina is the second favorite team to win the tournament they are very likely to beat Australia today.

@pawanjain I wasn’t expecting the odds to be high anyway, but if you want higher odds then you can try for Japan and Senegal matches because I’m sure that you’ll see higher odds for their win. Lastly if you chose to wager on their matches be warned that it’s a big risk, and while the favourites will have lower odds at least you’ll have a peace of mind that you’ll most probably win your wager*.  (* I’m assuming a hypothetical scenario where the favourite team’s win).

You guys are right. Just thought of placing a bet on England vs Senegal match and I guess while the odds are lower for England but most likely they will win.
So I took the risk and went ahead with placing the bet. Lets see how it goes and I hope I win.

1533  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reasons why the 95% of future traders lose all of their money on: December 04, 2022, 01:06:35 PM
All your points are valid especially the risk management one is the key reason why many people lose money.
To eradicate this issue we must predefine a risk to reward ratio which coincides with our risk management strategy.
The most important aspect here is to make sure we don't get our funds liquidated in futures trading.
In exchanges like binance we have an option to keep our futures trades segregated so that if one of our trades is liquidated then it won't effect our overall balance.
1534  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning how to code in order to automate trading strategies, is it worth? on: December 03, 2022, 04:12:15 PM
Everything boils down to how good you are at trading. If you are really good at trading and making consistent profits then you can consider automating your strategies and back testing them.
If you are not really that good at trading then there's basically no point of automating the strategies.
One has to be good at trading manually in order to take advantage of automated trading methods.
Besides that if you learn how to code then it would just be an advantage as you will gain knowledge about it.
You can utilize the skill somewhere.
1535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why We People Cannot Think Like Whales 🐋 🐳? on: December 03, 2022, 03:50:15 PM
First of all many members will roast me and will say that where you got such idea, why are you bluffing but this is Bitcoin discussion, so I thought that I should share something.

1) Many Of Small traders always got into the Trap of Whales? Why?

2) There are Always Ponzi Schemes in All Bull runs like 2027 was ICO big Scam
And Now BIG crypto projects Got scammed in 2022 like Terra Luna, FTX, Solana, Serum etc. They are not just coincidence. These are preplanned Scams. And that. Sucks.
3) I think that Big Exchanges that are centralized are Big whales cause they know how much volume they have and how many longs and also Shorts. In this way they can Scam with many many wats. And also that is a small reason that we cannot outsmart Whales 🐋🐳.

I think you have got some misinformation because Solana and Serum have not scammed yet.
They have suffered the price declines because of the collapse of FTX. Since FTX was involved in Solana and Serum they faced a blood bath.
So we can't really say that Solana and Serum has scammed users.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: under-age gamblers on: December 03, 2022, 02:42:36 PM
Underage gambling should be avoided at all cost. If someone who is underage is found to gamble it becomes our responsibility to make him understand quit gambling until at least he is 18 years of age.
It is also parent's responsibility to make sure their children are involved in these activities.
The motive behind stopping underage gambling is because sometimes teens don't understand the value of money.
They gamble with the money they didn't even earn and this makes them decrease their value on money.
Another big danger is if they get addicted to gambling then we can't even imagine the consequences of an underage person getting addicted to gambling.
1537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: December 03, 2022, 02:12:02 PM
This World Cup had a lot of drama so far with some very surprising results but we are still in the early stages of the tournament, so there can be plenty more twists and turns before the action ends. We have to expect that things will tighten up as we progressed into the knockout stage of the competition, with teams knowing that one mistake could be fatal for their chances of making it to the final.

There are plenty more games still to come though, with the likes of France, Germany, England, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Brazil, and even Argentina still in the mix for glory, so there's still a lot to look forward to in this World Cup.

This year's World Cup hosts have created history. Equally, good team matches are surprising everyone. Easy wins are losing many teams. But now only the first round of the World Cup is going on. So now it cannot be said with certainty which team will win the World Cup.

Really a lot of surprises at the very start, Japan unexpectedly beat Germany, and nobody believed that S. Arabia could win against Argentina... I was pleasantly surprised by Iran and their game today, it seems to me that South Korea played a good match yesterday, but unfortunately they didn't win even though they had nice chances.

Well, after this start, it's hard to guess how things will unfold, there are still more games in the groups and somehow it seems to me that there will be more surprises.

Japan beating Germany was indeed shocking. Even with Spain Japan performed really well not to forget their out of bounds goal which really helped them win the match.
As for Argentina losing with Saudi Arabia I think I somewhere agree with the theory mentioned by swogerino.
Argentina is a strong team and them losing may be a well planned strategy. Talking about the finals I think Argentina is definitely in.
England might also be in so may be there's a final between them both.

1539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15M BTC goes into self custody on: December 02, 2022, 02:01:16 PM
I personally think it's all temporary because of the recent FTX collapse. Since the collapse the voices about not your keys, not your coins are echoed everywhere.
The idea of using hardware wallets and non-custodial wallets are circulated almost everywhere which is why there's a sudden increase of withdrawals from exchanges.
People are afraid that the collapse of FTX can trigger other exchanges to collapse as well which is why there's a panic in the community to withdraw their coins from exchanges to their wallets.
Once the dust settles and bitcoin and altcoins spike up I am quite sure that people will send their coins back to exchanges to trade and take profits.
1540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ponzi scheme scammer uses BTC to cover tracks on: December 02, 2022, 01:53:21 PM
Bitcoin is pseudonymous which basically means it is no completely anonymous as it seems.
If the powerful agencies want to track the user they can still do it but that's not possible if a common man like us wants to track the user down.
At some point the scammer will use the money for something or will try to withdraw the money which is when the scammer is tracked down.
Although its not easy it is not impossible.
