In cryptocurrency generally you only got what you deserve, we might complain of how bad  or the terrible experience you have had during trading or holding the wrong asset, but in reality you only got what you deserve.
Look at those that have DCA into Bitcoin over the years, right now, they will still be in profit because that's what they deserve, you might decide to hold an alt and let go at the right time and come out profitable, because of the knowledge you have on how to navigate your way in the crypto space make it deserving.
You might decide to lose your money by holding shit coin, instead of Bitcoin because of your lack of knowledge in the crypto space.
If you still want to keep holding Bitcoin, which means you believe in it, so when the bull runs comes and you start reaping your rewards, you deserve it.
Because you were patience enough to hold the right currency which is Bitcoin.

As a newbie or experience trader, if you decide to do revenge trading, emotional trading or high leverage trading, and you lose everything, that's what you deserve, because you lack the knowledge and discipline required to know when to stop and when to continue.
In this space we all get what we deserve.

Not only cryptocurrency but this applies to every asset. We only get what we deserve because we can only get profits from what we invest in.
Identifying and executing the right strategy is the only way to make profits but in the process many tend to fail due to greed.
Greed is our biggest enemy which takes us away from our goals.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 26, 2024, 08:06:45 AM
A few days ago, my house was being cleaned. Three people are cleaning the front and back yards of the house. One of them was playing slots and I saw him. Actually, I wanted to suggest he try sports betting because I often see the guy watching football matches and he does have knowledge about many teams. So I was wondering if I could introduce him to sports betting so he could use his ability to predict every game he knows about.

Besides that, I just feel that if he deposited $10 = IDR 150,000 into a gambling site just to play slots, he would probably suffer a complete loss. But if he can place bets on sports betting, there is a possibility of him winning some money on small bets. Wouldn't that be an advantage for him?

If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots. Yesterday, I just let it go but we still often meet at other activities.

You can just casually talk to him and ask him has he ever tried sports betting or not.
If he has already tried then may be he's more into luck based game like slots then sports betting.
If he hasn't tried then you can show him how it's done once.

Another way is just ask him about a match and who is gonna win and then tell him that you will be betting on the match.
Then it depends on his curiosity and you will find out whether he wants to do sports betting or not.
663  Economy / Gambling / Re: I have solved the problem of complexity in provably fair games on: January 26, 2024, 07:26:10 AM
Crypto gambling website representatives: please DM so that I can send you my CV. I am only responding to respected crypto gambling representatives here. I have many remarkable academic accomplishments, and looking to make a deal in exchange for my provably fair system.

Depending on the size and the reputation of your casino, I won’t ask for escrow and you’ll get to see my system before any payment is made. This is what I have to offer:
I have a unique approach to implementing provably fair games. Unlike current methods, my approach significantly simplifies the implementation process. This results in a game system that requires minimal cryptography understanding from players, almost no coding skills, and only a brief time to comprehend and verify game outcomes. This approach can be applied to most provably fair games at this stage.

Presently, average crypto users interested in playing provably fair games are required to navigate through approximately four pages of information https://stake.com/provably-fair/overview, possess a deep understanding of coding, and dedicate substantial effort to comprehending and validating the fairness of results. My proposed approach addresses these challenges and offers, as well, the following advantages:

- Equally robust provably fair gameplay, ensuring the impossibility of cheating and enabling verification, with no trust required.
-The explanations provided to players are presented in a half-page format, yet deliver the same value as the current four-page requirement.

Other people who have useful comments might do so, but please refrain from trying to know how I get to implement the provably fair games this way because I am not saying anything nor giving any hints.
Stories about people who passed through similar situations as mine are appreciated. Thank you!

Edit 26/08/23: It is so hard to get to know legitimate emails where I can send my CV and a letter. If you know any, please post them below.

Edited on 25/10/2023: I am only looking to make a deal for my system. I have previously stated that prior I should be hired as an advisor but I now think that’s irrelevant for the service I can offer.

Why not create a website and implement your system there.
Create a portfolio and then approach gambling sites and show them your prototype.
This way you will get more credibility and you might crack a deal.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: January 26, 2024, 07:12:25 AM
I think instead of giving the figures it would have made more sense to determine the numbers in percentage.
Many people here spend around 10% of their income in gambling. That is a decent amount I believe.
I don't spend much on gambling but it's around 1% of my total income. Relatively lower than others.
Since I am a lottery fan I think we are on the same percentage since I don't need to spend more on it compared to other casino games. 1% is quiet low compared to other gamblers here on this forum so I think this is reasonable for me since I have some priorities rather than gambling.

I have deliberately kept the budget that low because I cannot afford to lose more than that on entertainment.
I am not rich and I have to meet my goals while still having fun. Hence a tight budget of 1% is what I have kept for gambling.
I stay within the limits and gamble on the weekends with this amount.
665  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 25, 2024, 03:16:23 PM
Although some people might feel that gambling daily may shine their luck at some point of time and they may win big.
But there are repercussion to that as we tend to lose money on daily basis which eventually adds up to a lot in the end.
So gambling daily should be avoided at all cost as it also becomes a habit. Gambling as a habit is very bad in my perspective.
Actually, without realizing it, people who gamble every day not only lose money but also their time. Losing money can still be recovered, but if you have lost time, you will not be able to recover it. We should share our time with our family, especially if we already have a wife and children, of course. don't want to spend time gambling and ignoring the people around us, that is obviously very detrimental to time as well as money.

Many people don't realize that losing precious time is very difficult to recover. Luckily I only gamble on weekends so I spend my weekdays at work and family so I can divide my time properly. After all, why gamble every day even if you win, you won't it will be much different from gambling on the weekend. It all depends on our mindset, but what's actually better is that just gambling on the weekend is good enough. At least there is time where we can spend it earning money or just hanging out with family because that is more valuable than sitting around gambling hoping for a big win and ultimately getting addicted to gambling.

That's a good one. A different perspective yet very effective one. Time is truly very essential and you are very correct when you say that gambling daily loses our precious time.
In fact, I will say that is the time that is more important than the money lost because money can still be recovered but time once lost can never be recovered.

Lol I don't believe in technical analysis as anyone can draw some lines and make a prediction. I have not seen anyone yet who can make accurate predictions for crypto all the time. We gonna need to see what happens, right now we are in a downwards trend but in crypto everything is possible.
Technical analysis is correct 50% of the times and wrong 50% of the times. It is not a proper science and more of a psuedoscience. Hence better not to depend completely on it but make your predictions about price depending on how the market is moving and what the news have been propagating recently. A lot of big whales can turn markets the other way round so we can still be wrong.

Hence we get most of our predictions wrong in any case unless you get lucky. So it just another type of gambling finally. Trading and making predictions are two different things though.

Nothing can be predicted accurately all the time. Technical, fundamental, psychological analysis etc.. are all just done for a reference.
We can use it for reference to make a prediction but nobody can guarantee that the prediction will come true. It's just a "probability" which may or may not occur.
From my analysis, BTC will "probably" stay under $40k until the end of this month and then it will start rising next month.
667  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: January 25, 2024, 02:20:35 PM
It's fun guys, govs hardly avoid accepting Bitcoin is money, but when it comes to gambling then users are risking money, so, casinos need a license.

Let's be honest, If you can deposit, wager, and withdraw. I don't see where the license is in the process...

Just want to say Fuck Curaçao, the island in the middle of nowhere who decide to take the crypto gambling industry in their hands and make billions of dollars with it. Who the fuck they are to wash money this way?

Crypto gambling needs freedom, and i insist in this point. If you can Deposit, Wager and Widrawal, then you don't need anything else.  And a big shout out to those casinos who still working until now without a license, freebitco.in, Just-Dice.com, bustabit.com... They are big examples of how crypto gambling should be.

Well said, although these sites may not provide as many games to gamble as other sites yet they are truly non KYC sites.
It's good to have such non KYC gambling sites. On the other hand, while bitcoin may not have been accepted by many governments yet but they are starting to.

Most people always think that when playing every day maybe luck will come at an unexpected time so they will continue to try even every day as long as they have money but in this case they do not realize that it is precisely with this that they become more threatened because they cannot manage gambling and manage finances properly.
Im surrounded by several people like this in real life although not every day but they can spend several hours for 5 days a week just to gamble in the hope that luck will come on one of these day when in reality they are the ones who continue to lose and lose because they cannot make gambling a pleasure and cannot manage their time properly.
Actually they are aware that this is not good, it's just that the effects of gambling are still very pronounced for them so they can't just give up gambling because it feels like something is missing if they don't gamble.

Although some people might feel that gambling daily may shine their luck at some point of time and they may win big.

670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do they managed ? on: January 24, 2024, 03:22:44 PM
I see many business companies in the world are currently accepting Bitcoin or cryptocurrency as payment. We all know that cryptocurrency is associated with high volatilities, now I have a curious mind, how do they cover up by accepting these high volatility coins?
Do they all use the gateway to exchange those for stable coins or do they hold that?

There are only 2 ways to get around this.

1. Exchange crypto to fiat on regular basis so that fiat value doesn't change much.
2. Keep holding until you are in profit and then exchange to fiat.

Depending on the individual's preference they can opt for any.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 22, 2024, 02:43:00 PM
I would be really pissed off because the one thing I don't like is stealing. So if my son has stolen money then he is gonna get some nice lesson from me.
Then comes the gambling part, it depends on his age and how often he is gambling. If he can control his gambling habits then it's okay I believe.
But if he is stealing money for gambling then there's something very wrong. He must be taught a lesson, may be in a decent way but it's necessary.
672  Economy / Gambling / Re: How Crypto casino market themselves? on: January 22, 2024, 01:50:44 PM
I am curious to know who are their targeted audience and at what age group. In general gambling people target countries like thailand more but probably this is not the case with crypto. Do they target nerds or total dumbs? How efficient they are between their marketing tactics?

In my perspective they target influential people and celebs and bring them in with themselves so that they can influence the audience.
Since crypto is global the advertising shows in general how one can make big money with gambling which is so not true yet many fall for it.
So the only way to attract huge number of people is to partner with people whom the users follow.

I don't know the pools seem unusually low for the cryptocurrencies bets : only 20mbtc for Bitcoin, 6mbtc for FUN and just 2mbtc for ETH currently, so I wonder if people will bet much this month and when they will do it because only 4 days remain now, the bets will close tuesday. But on the other hand few guys can upside-down the odds with only a rather small amount of money if they place bets of several mbtc.

The betting pools for BTC, ETH, and FUN price predictions are lower than usual, as these pools appeared on the site rather late this month. Nevertheless, the number of bets in the range of $37,5k to $40k has increased slightly over the last 24 hours. It seems that users are beginning to doubt that the BTC price will remain in the range of $40k to $45k until the end of this month.
Yes but they are very very low, it's not the first time cryptocurrencies bets open lately in the month but it's the first time I see pools so low 3 days before thé end. I think they don't know they have open or they are scared by the BTC ETF start.

I think people are scared to place the bets this time because of uncertainty and volatility in BTC/ETH prices.
Both BTC and ETH are having news about ETFs all over and that has caused the price to pump.
There were few large whales who took profits and dumped the price down which caused a huge volatility in the market.
So may be that's why people are not willing to place any bets this time.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong perspective towards Bitcoin investment on: January 21, 2024, 05:19:18 PM
The issue of getting rich quick isn't something that many adopters take seriously, as they've come to believe it is the only way to make a quick profit. It still saddens me to see that some adopters in our community have taken the wrong step towards Bitcoin investment.

I recently stumbled upon a guy few days back who happens to be a anti-bitcoinist. He showed his frustration and condemned Bitcoin in a way that got my attention. I was eager to know why someone would have hatred for a life changing opportunity like Bitcoin, so I had to ask.

From his reply, he said he came across a Bitcoin mining website that was shared via a YouTube video. The mining site mines Bitcoin in small quantities, which he decided to buy some mining power to accumulate faster. He successfully purchased one of the mining power worth $80, but the site eventually shut down a week later without allowing any withdrawals.

His reply got me laughing because I quickly pointed out two things from what he said:
1. He was eager to get quick profit from an $80 investment but ended up getting scammed.
2. During my early days in crypto, I often came across these demo-like websites and have also fallen victim.

It was very clear to me that some ethusiast who promote Bitcoin don't talk about the risk part of it, while those who adopt Bitcoin on their own don't learn about the risk part of it.
~snip

I couldn't just leave him hanging with that mentality towards Bitcoin. I showed him some love by converting $10 worth of Bitcoin from my personal funds, sending it to him, and also sent him the BTT link so he can learn from a large Bitcoin community. I have done my part, and I repeat: there is no such thing as getting rich quick. I am glad he has joined the community, but wouldn't want to be mentioned.

Thanks for reading, and do well to share your opinion.

We all learn from our mistakes. Getting rich quick is not an easy job especially when you are new to a field.
It's common to fall for such get rich quick schemes as a newbie but that's how we learn.
I would rather say that he learnt his lesson by paying $80 as a fees. Now that he has got scammed once, may be he will pay more attention the next time.

That's a good progress for the year. The most important part is that the number of posts increased by more than 2x times.
That directly contributes to merits shared which increased by nearly 10x times.
I hope this progress continues now that crypto is booming and India is on top of the list of crypto users.
We need to bring those people's attention to this board somehow.

P.S: Congratulations @Bitcoin Smith for ranking up to Sr.Member
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: January 21, 2024, 12:03:43 PM
You must have a source of income if you must succeed in your holdings.

For the few years I have been into cryptocurrency, I have discovered that you can't hold till the right time if your don't have a source of income. Just imagine that you have a pressing basic needs like feeding or rent, then you don't have money  to finance it, you will be forced to sell your Bitcoin at a loss if you don't have a source of income outside your holdings.

Most people that have sold their Bitcoin holdings at a loss or at an average price actually have the patience but don't have the knowledge of how to hold, because a good holder must be aware that he needs a source of income for him to be able to consolidate to his holdings.

It has happened to me severally, I have been able to hold now, since I started working as a merchandiser with Guinness, I think most times, experience is the best teacher.

The main problem here is to fulfill the requirement of money when in need, without having to sell our investments.
This is only possible if we already have a bucket of amount to fulfill such situations.
This is why they say we should have at least 6 months of our salary as an emergency fund.
That way we won't have to sell our investments in such emergency situations.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ? on: January 20, 2024, 12:43:08 PM
Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ?  If not, how much you think is sufficient to retire as Gambling winning ?

Yes we do need a decent amount of money to retire and live peacefully but it doesn't necessarily have to be received from gambling income.
Besides that, gambling is just a mode of entertainment and we might win any amount of money.
It doesn't mean we have to keep gambling until we receive the desired amount for retirement because that would be foolishness.
678  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports betting arbitrage on: January 20, 2024, 12:08:44 PM
Sports betting arbitrage is a strategy in which a player takes advantage of discrepancies in the odds offered by sportbetting sites to obtain profit. Have any of you tried to make money this way? what difficulties did you encounter? What bookmakers did you use? Have any of you had problems with bookmakers because of this? Why does it bother them anyway?

How is it even profitable because the odds won't have high discrepancies as far as I know.
Besides that, we eventually have to place the bet and win in-order to gain that extra % of amount.
If we lose the bet then we will be losing everything anyway.
High discrepancy on the odds can appear when the sportbooks try to do what is called balancing the books, what this means is that one side of the bet has received massive support by the fans and if the underdog were to win they will lose money, and this is no good as casinos must win in every single bet they offer regardless of the result, so they offer way better odds to that side of the bet to encourage gamblers to make a bet on that direction, that is when an arbitrage bet can be made, in which you put yourself in a position similar to a casino and regardless of who wins you profit from the bets you made.

Suppose that you have placed a bet on the side which has high odds. Don't you still lose the money if the side with high odds loses.
You can get good profit only in case you win that round with high odds. Could you explain with an example ?
679  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: January 20, 2024, 11:59:43 AM
Indian exchanges are behind this URL ban? That is a new info.

Yes, didn't you know that local exchanges complained to the regulators that while they are following the AML policies and regulation the international exchanges are keeping away with it.
This is the reason why international exchanges were said to follow the AML policies and otherwise face a shadow ban.
This is why Binance is now forced to accept the AML policies by Indian government.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto wallet to use for 8,000$? on: January 19, 2024, 05:34:30 PM
Hello everyone, I'm new to cryptocurrency and I was able to earn 8,000$ in btc, and I keep all the money on binance, but I heard that binance blocks accounts. Please advise me of a reliable crypto wallet to store this money, who can recommend a really good wallet, I can transfer you 200$. Please write to my telegram @leaneek

Don't hold your coins in an exchange. You have multiple options.

1. Buy a hardware wallet
2. Download an open source wallet
3. Create a cold wallet

You can buy hardware wallets like Trezor, Safepal etc... or can download opensource wallets like Mycelium or Electrum.
You can also create a cold storage and keep it off the grid if your more tech savvy. There are already many guides on the internet available for it.
