581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking scams ...How are Bitcoin better? on: September 29, 2023, 02:39:32 PM
The Banks are continuously improving their service with offering that are more user-friendly and easy to use. One example of this are "Contactless Card Payments" where you tap your card for small purchases.

The scammers have figured out how to use that service to their advantage... by simply tapping it continuously (if it is not limited) and if it requires a pin... by watching you and following you after you have made a purchase. (They then take your card by force and physically tap it until your account are empty)

They also use card skimming devices to "clone" your card and use pin hole cameras to capture your pin while you are typing it. They can even bump into you with a device that will initiate a small purchase from your card that can "tap"  Roll Eyes

Your credit card are constantly under attack, when you use it online and your Banking Apps are making you a target, because they only need access to you to force you to enter your pin... then they can change daily limits and transfer as much money as they like. (Local criminal syndicates work with Bank employees to identify potential targets.)

So, I was thinking... How can Bitcoin be better? Can we find better solutions for these attacks and will these solutions still give us ease of use? (No complexity but still user-friendly)

Share your experience with these Banking problems and give possible solutions for this, because we will draw a lot of people to Bitcoin, if we find innovative solutions to problems like this.  Wink

Don't you think that all of these issues are present because of the ease of convenience of credit cards ?
Any person can increase/decrease the credit card limit by just logging into their account and just doing few clicks.
We have physical credit cards so that we can easily make payments.
Further more they added tap feature to make it more easier to make payments without any pin.
All of these are making us more lazy, less secure and more prone to attacks.

Bitcoin is already better by making it harder for attackers since we have to enter the address, the private key/pin, double check everything and then make the payment.
There might be a little inconvenience in using bitcoin (although I don't feel it) but it's worth it considering the fact that we own our coins and it is secure.
582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC on: September 28, 2023, 04:25:47 PM
It is very important for newbies to know how to own and manage bitcoins in their wallets. They need to explore and get very comfortable using bitcoin.
Newbies should invest a very little amount into bitcoin before they get comfortable using and know how to secure their coins.
Once they become good at it then it's their personal choice and can invest whatever they like as long as they believe in it.
583  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do hacks still occur? on: September 28, 2023, 04:21:10 PM
As long as we are using computers/mobiles or lets say any machines, they will be hackable because there is no perfect code out there.
Even the best code can be vulnerable is an expert tests it. Every system has bugs and only the master minds can find it and exploit it.
Besides that, there is a shortage of cyber security employees which is why companies fall prey to such attacks.
584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Flip or Trade? What’s The Bigger Gamble? on: September 28, 2023, 03:59:04 PM
Lost in the whirlwind world of day trading? It often feels like a maze with big folks and their flashy tools, leaving us hoping for a stroke of luck. Imagine ditching the tricky charts for a simple, real coin flip, person vs person, with a fair 50/50 chance. No gimmicks, no house edge, just a clear, honest game.

What’s your take? Does day trading seem more of a gamble compared to a straight-up coin flip

Day tricking cannot be directly said as a gamble. There are people who do perform their analysis and set their targets.
It's more of a prediction game than a straight up gamble. The bigger gamble would definitely be trading.
There are lots of people involved in it and the amount accumulates in millions when trading.
As for the coin flip, I don't think a lot of people are doing that.

Not because there are lots of people day trading, it is a bigger gamble.  I think to say when it is a bigger gamble is by simply looking at the mechanics and how the risk is mitigated.  Besides gamble is related to risk.  The bigger the risk, the bigger the gamble.  So in day trading, as many of the replies stated, the risk can be mitigated and those who are expert on trading can even reduce this risk to the minimum.  While in coin flip, no matter what the gambler do, he cannot reduce the risk nor increase the chance of losing.  So between the two, it is the coin flip that is has the bigger risk so it can be said that it is the bigger gamble.

Oh, I get it now. Yes, it makes sense from that perspective. Coin flip definitely has higher risk when compared to day trading.
Yet, the question is, are people even doing that? I mean are people gambling on a coin flip ?
Even if they do, the number of people would be very low.

You get happy when you receive a free Golden Ticket.
You become more happier when you receive the free Golden Ticket from the free WoF spin from email.
That's how I got this free GT from the mail. Lucky day. That's the importance of spinning the WoF spin from the email. Never miss it.

Your post reminded me to re-claim wof from email subscriptions because I haven't claimed it for quite a while.
It's true that getting 1 golden ticket from Wof email is quite fun because it opens up the opportunity for you to get a Lambo, even though the chance is very small and you could almost say it's impossible to get it because you're competing with those with more golden tickets, but at least it's enough to open up your chances of getting in the lambo raffle.

I hope you didn't miss out many of those emails because 1 WoF spin is sent almost everyday and so just imagine how many rewards you would got till date if you had utilized all those free spins.
We just need 1 lucky ticket to win the lambo and so we never know when we get the lucky 1.
Even if we don't get any GT, we still get those nice rewards. I have even got 5k sats from free spin from email few months back.

588  Local / India / Re: Indian crypto exchanges under regulations of RBI on: September 25, 2023, 03:56:04 PM
If RBI is given the authority to regulate crypto in India then the regulations will obviously not be in favor of the crypto community.
But global rules would be implemented to regulate cryptocurrencies and so I wonder how RBI will put itself foreword in that direction.

I heard about bitcion from my uncle and he has been talking about bitcion since February 2022 and have been hearing how bitcion pays and support youths. If invest in long term. And he also warned me that bitcion is not get quick rich scheme and there are different ways one can get bitcion. And the ones he told me were:
1) buy bitcion and store it in the wallet for the next bull market   to come. And he told me to buy it in the bear market and invest it for a long term investment for like 3_5 years period, so I am planning to invest for the long term.
2) trading is the buying and selling of bitcion in the market at all time or anytime which gives you profit if you can trade well. But trading is more risk than investment.
3) mining is the solving of mathematical problem through computing system when someone send bitcion to a recipient, a minor must mine the cions in the blockchain before the recipient will receive the coin.

590  Local / India / Re: ZebPay Teams Up with Brave to Offer Rewards Program to Users in India on: September 24, 2023, 04:19:50 PM
I guess this partnership will be a good advantage for both Brave browser and Zebpay exchange.
But I wonder how much were users earning earlier when they were getting these rewards.
I remember my friend taking part in this program earlier but he wasn't satisfied with the rewards.
591  Local / India / Re: India plans to develop darknet monitoring tool on: September 24, 2023, 04:11:34 PM
recently saw a news that india is planning to make tool for monitoring darknet for crypto related fraud. crypto related scams are increasing in India so MHA has planed to act against it.

Do you have any link that gives this information ? I haven't heard anything about this yet.
If this is true I wonder how India is planning to do this. I am curious to know their plan.
It won't be an easy job though. Monitoring on darknet is little tricky although the FBI is already doing it.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Talking about big wins on Dice on: September 24, 2023, 04:06:27 PM
It sounds good when you hear that somebody actually won a bet with 0.0007% probability.
But the thing to wonder is that how many time would that person have lost his bets to win this bet.
It's not that he would have won this bet with just few of his bets. He would have played a lot of bets.
Actually it hit pretty quick IIRC. Within 100 bets of chasing that multiplier. I know what you're saying, a player is going to lose more often than win when chasing that high of a multiplier. Sometimes people just get lucky.
There's always someone hitting the rare odds, and you don't see the millions of users who lost the same bet. You'll only see the winners, and given enough attempts, eventually it becomes inevitable for someone to win.

Quite true. I guess that player was truly very lucky to win such a high multiplier so quickly.
I have never won anything more than 10x. May be its because I am impatient with my bets and withdraw the bet quickly.
I wonder if the player continued to play or encashed the winnings. After winning big I would at least take 75% of the profits.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 24, 2023, 02:51:52 PM
Picking up an alternative to leave a habit is a good way to go and in this case there are so many things that you can do as an alternative to reduce your gambling time.
I personally have my day job which consumes my entire day and this leaves me only the weekends to gamble.
Also, sometimes I binge watch movies, series, go out with friends and thus this makes me gamble only when I have time left for gambling on weekends.
Sometimes it is every weekend that I gamble and then there are times where I don't gamble for 2-3 weekends.
So we really need to have a good patience level and self control so that we can control our gambling habits.
That's the only thing we can do to leave old habits and start new habits so that we have less time to do old habits. And it's good if you have a day job that can take up your entire day so you can really leave behind your old habits to try to focus on your daily work. And if you only use the weekend to gamble, that's okay too because that's your choice. After all, you can gamble whenever you want. And yes, using your time for other things, as you mentioned, is also very beneficial because you can get pleasure apart from gambling. And that means you don't depend on gambling to get pleasure because you can do other things with your family and friends to get that pleasure. In this case, we must always have self-control so that gambling does not make us return to the casino too often.

That is a very good point that you have said. Not many know this but its true that we shouldn't have just one source of pleasure.
I got to understand this point few days back when I was watching one of the motivational videos on youtube.
They said that if we depend on one source for pleasure then our life becomes dependent on it and when we don't have it we become very sad or go to depression.
This holds true in gambling as well. If there's no other source of pleasure then we don't have money for gambling then our life becomes hell.
But if there are other sources of pleasure then we can rely on it and not being able to gamble doesn't bothers us much.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A matter of family conflict regarding Bitcoin. on: September 23, 2023, 12:03:09 PM
As far as this story is concerned I think nobody should do domestic violence whatever the reason be it.
Money will come go but the relationships we build with our closed ones shouldn't be impacted because of it.

That's true, the solution to any problem is not engaging in domestic violence, especially when this is happening between a man and a woman, there are some situations that we only to settle agrression with calm, loosing bitcoin isn't the end of life, moreover there's always a second chance for another opportunity to come and they can recover the loss again, when things like this happens, the two of them are expected to address it and settles it and everything come to an end, there are better ways of settling down dispute than been aggressive, there will always be more opportunities to come and invest and the market pumps.

That's a very good approach. In fact, I think that both the husband and wife should treat the situation by understanding each other.
If the husband has lost money then the wife should calm him down and console him and motivate him to find another opportunity and not fight with him.
On the other hand the husband should apologize to the wife for committing the mistake and make her understand how he lost so that they both don't lose the money the same way again.
If people start treating each other with respect and understand each other then half of the life's problems will not even occur from my perspective.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 23, 2023, 11:57:42 AM
Responsible gambling habits has helped me stay out of debt since I was able to control the losses incurred in gambling.
This simple thing contributes to everything mentioned in OP such as maintaining healthy relationships with family members, having a good lifestyle and managing the finances.
I guess responsible gambling has only positive sides and should be followed by every gambler.

This is a good advice, we have to gamble responsibly so that our life as a whole will be worth emulating, being a gambler, we are expected to monitor the way we gamble and also keep a track record of how we continue on same manners, this will prevent us from trouble or putting ourselves into one, sometimes when we don't have money, then we should be able to have patience with gambling to wait and work to earn the amount needed for gambling than going by way of debt, as you've said already, there's always a benefit in every responsible gambling.
Becoming a responsible gambler is difficult but we have to keep trying. His suggestion could be a solution that we can try so that it doesn't affect our relationships with other family members because it will impact the relationships between family members. What would be even better if we could have more activities unrelated to gambling so that we won't gamble too often and won't make us addicted to gambling. However, we must control ourselves well so that no problems can arise between us and other family members.

Picking up an alternative to leave a habit is a good way to go and in this case there are so many things that you can do as an alternative to reduce your gambling time.
I personally have my day job which consumes my entire day and this leaves me only the weekends to gamble.

596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: September 23, 2023, 11:49:52 AM
To be honest I mostly play luck based games and rarely play strategic games. So there was nothing that prevented a big win for me.
There were times when the bet I was in had a huge return but I cashed out very early and hence did not win big.
Then that simply means your lack of patience prevented your big win after all, anyways, for luck based games, I agree with you, the only thing that can prevent a gambler's from winning big is nothing else but luck, a lucky gamblers will win big with luck based games, but the unlucky will on the other hand lose far more than they have or will ever win..

But in the end, like I will always say, gambling is not all about winning all the time, sometimes, we just have to do away with winning and just have fun playing.

That is quite true. Luck is the biggest obstacle that prevents us from winning big.
Patience is the second obstacle but that is in our hands and if have enough patience may be we can avoid this obstacle from winning big.
But only time can tell whether our patience becomes a root cause for us winning big or losing more eventually.
597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When the fun stops on: September 23, 2023, 11:44:13 AM
Online gambling platforms exists not only to get you some lucky wins, it's also another form of entertainment,  but I will like to ask if truly you people are getting that entertainment from gambling?

We can see what the world is becoming now, things are getting harder and what's on peoples mind is how to make even more money, there is no time, there are too many responsibilities,  are you sure you getting entertained?

Some people already feel like they are not having fun, because what they have in mind is making money, to all people that feels this way, If you feel like you aren't having fun I believe for the greater good, it's better to take a break from gambling and do something else.

Do you agree or disagree?

I believe that most people end up messing themselves up with gambling because to them everything is money, money, money, and this can stop your brain from becoming a responsible gambler, the sense of protecting yourself from gambling addiction can get lost if you are already not having fun with gambling anymore.

I'll speak about myself that whenever I bet, I bet for fun. There is no pressure on me to win but I make sure that I give in everything to win.
Even if I lose there's no such burden which makes betting fun to me. I keep trying new strategies and this makes it interesting to me.
Although I keep losing money but the amount is not so huge because I bet with smaller amounts. I don't bet something that I cannot afford to lose.

I recently got into online gambling and would like to ask for some recommendations of trusty crypto casinos (and perhaps those to avoid Smiley ).

If you are looking for trusted casino sites then you should opt for Duelbits or BC.GAME
There are few other casino sites as well and all of these sites keep giving away bonuses.
You can also go with BTCGOSU which shows the trusted sites with reviews and promotions if you want to keep it simple.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin can provide Subscription Auto Renewal solution on: September 22, 2023, 04:06:46 PM
In many cases, we keep the Auto Renewal system on at various places so that when the subscription period of this item expires, the time is instantly renewed.  This is possible because the bank is a centralized platform and has an authority team to manage it.  But if Bitcoin is accepted for payment like Debit/Credit Card everywhere around the world.  In that case how Bitcoin can provide auto renewal system where we use non-custodial wallet to hold Bitcoin.  Which has full access to us, no one can control it if they want. what to you think about it. How Bitcoin can provide Subscription Auto Renewal solution?

If you are so lazy with your money then you shouldn't be using bitcoin at first place. Bitcoin is created to own your money.
You should be the only way you are spending your money. If any automation method or central authority is doing it for you then you shouldn't blame anybody else in case of any mishappening.
Time locked transactions are  a good alternative though. So that is the only solution for the time being if you are stubborn with what you are looking to achieve.
