1541  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin reduces unemployment on: July 31, 2017, 09:49:46 PM
I think in the presence of bitcoin will reduce unemployment, because searching for bitcoin also requires hard work and creativity, and competitiveness in bitcoin is also high almost similar to work in the real world

What is your opinion this time?

i think this is a good, rational statement.
It is slowly doing it already, people are getting involved in all kinds of projects .

And there are stable IT supplementary services to btc network which are making good money, traders, app developers, news and all the marketing which goes with it.
1542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10 ETH or 1 BTC? on: July 27, 2017, 03:37:20 AM
With $3000 to invest, is there any advantages to either, with the expectations/hopes that they both will continue to grow?  Just trying to see what others would do, as I plan to let this initial investment sit for 5yrs minimum in a cold wallet.

Thanks ladies and gents!

In my mind in this case it is wise to chose btc. Because in the long run btc has more potential because of its positioning as "main" crypto coin.

On other hand if one would want to invest short-term ETH has more potential, right now it could easily go to ~400$ which is 100% profit . But the BTC most likely will not go to 5000$ so soon.
1543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you guys ride out the last bitcoin/altcoin "crash"? on: July 26, 2017, 10:46:11 PM
All the buzz about crypto lately has been about how it's going to crash and burn and how it's going to take people like us down with it.  How do you guys deal with the naysayers?
When i see the crash i was already near to panic selling but its too late do i still dont sell it it is really stressful watching your money or your coin getting dump in the market and i guess its already in a half of its main price so my money was lose almost 50percent if its money.

In my modest opinion i think that people with the coolest heads are the most successful in crypto markets as well as in share  markets.

Recently I experienced the same unpleasant feeling of watching my investment decrease in value.
I decided not to panic and hold, there is no reason that I will not get my money back in long term, And there is one very good argument, sort of argument- the past behaviour of market.

In this recent trade i did make a mistake by trying to ride the wave, i was too late.

Have you experienced a trade when the investment have not bounced back to level of your buy price?
1544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of news? on: July 26, 2017, 10:23:02 PM

If you use an iPhone (or iOS device) you can try the BTCnews app that pulls in news throughout the day from a few dozen sources, including all the main ones as well as two Chinese sources (in English). You can filter out any sources you do not want to see, and the app is free.
[full disclosure: I am the developer of the app. the app, as mentioned, is free, and no, in no way does it make me rich  Sad  ]

http://apple.co/1GlPVnz

In this case unfortunately I do not use Apple, I use Android .
Best of luck with the app !

Recently downloaded app "cryptocurrency News" which seems very good , because includes all the mayor sites and can be customised .

But it stops working when i click on article of interest which is a huge bummer.
Will try the app mentioned here before.
1545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best trader for ETH ? on: July 26, 2017, 06:58:18 AM
Agreed with poloniex and bittrex, please note that trading is against USDT or BTC, not the USD.
However if you want to trade ETH against USD or other fiat currencies, you may want to consider coinbase.

Thanks for pointing out that the trading is against USD. Not sure if i want to trade against BTC, cant rap my mind around the concept right now, it could be more difficult to understand market fluctuations .
But as I understand in this case I can use USDT for starters.

Much appreciated all other answers, will check out the traders.  Smiley
1546  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-24]Bitcoin Will Hit $1 Million in 5-10 Years, Says PayPal Director on: July 26, 2017, 06:40:51 AM
It is all fun and jokes while everything is going up but I also want to believe those people are not spewing numbers out of their asses randomly.

1million dollars/btc is just too high. Even in 10 years.

Price: $2674,83           Market cap: $43.736.244.299,00

Price: $1.000.000,00    Market cap: $16.351.037.000.108,42

A whooping 16 Trillion USD market cap.

Total Gold market is 8 Trillion USD. Is that realistic to you? Not to me. A realistic target should be around 50k$/btc at first, then we talk.

Very nice post with calculations. Shows have ridiculous hes claims are.
One would await better thought out press releases from upper management of  huge modern company.

On other note, hate their (PayPal) guts because of their policies and customer - support relation .
1547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / What is the best trader for ETH ? on: July 23, 2017, 11:36:50 PM

Recently started trading ETH at Etoro and I am not impressed  with the options that Trader gives - the minimum and maximum loss and profit for trade is limited .
And as I was watching the market of Etherium , I realised that E toro always has lower price than other markets.
Also as I understand in the case of Etoro trader does not buy actual altcoins but something that Etoro supplies as some kind of cover for coins.

I am relatively new a this so I am asking for your opinion , is there better traders than Etoro and ideally which works with Ripple as well ?

1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone want to help me create a new cryptocurrency? on: July 23, 2017, 11:19:11 PM
Send me a message if you are interested.

There are a LOT of altcoins out there,  most of them have almost no market-cap and never will.

What unique thoughts and ideas do you have that others haven't implemented yet?
If you have something unique in mind, than I wish you the best of luck.
1549  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-23] Bittrex locking all withdrawals and deposits. on: July 23, 2017, 10:03:05 PM
I have an account with Bittrex and I have previously used that account for crypto-trading. Fortunately, I don't have any coins right now in that exchange. Still doesn't understand why they are locking the withdrawals and deposits so early.
The forum also warns you of sending transactions right now.  We're still in danger of unintended chain splits or other issues.
Quote
Due to BIP91, it would starting now be prudent to require 5 times more confirmations than usual before trusting transactions.
I am using Bittrex for most of my trading activities and when I logged in just now...the advisory is centered on Bitcoin wallet: Bitcoin wallet disabled until after BIP-91 is settled. My Bitcoin is now locked in by Bittrex.
I consider this very unprofessional of Bittrex.  If they were intending to stop all deposits and withdrawals of BTC (obviously by far the most traded coin on Bittrex), they should have notified users at least 2 weeks in advance.

Fortunately I don't store any coins on exchanges anyway.  I send, trade, withdraw.  Never on the exchange for more than an hour.

By doing so in advance , they would lose a lot of money and customes. So maybe its not cool but understandable.
1550  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-20] Dark web marketplaces AlphaBay and Hansa shut down on: July 23, 2017, 02:32:48 AM
Alphabay was all over the news for the past week but Hansa? I have never heard about it before. Are they as big as Alphabay?

I hope they are trying to hide their tracks well. I do not use and go to the darknet but I reckon they should use a good anonymous cryptocoin like Monero to be safe.

Hansa wasn't as big as ABin terms of vendor but they had a different multi-sig setup for payments, and fewer issues because of that, in contrast with the site wallet of AB, at least as far as I could tell early 2017. As AB got worse, people moved to Hansa.
Yup, AlphaBay's shutdown sent traffic flooding into the smaller Hansa marketplace. But that new traffic of tens of thousands of users was unaware that Dutch police had already taken control of Hansa, giving them the ability to identify and track buyers and sellers. The Hansa market also got shutdown after that.

The fact that they took control of the whole Hansa marketplace and kept it going for a month is crazy.

In the past i looked at the Darkweb market places as some-kind of fortresses for illegal goodies but now I am realising what the situation realy is.

On slightly different note, it is completely useless exercise as same as great war on drugs. ( I am not a passionate drug user just see war as irrational approach to problem)
1551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of news? on: July 22, 2017, 08:22:11 PM
Im reading news in cointelegraph thru their telegram channel. I like their real-time news as well as those educational editorials created by their writers. I also love their weekly price update of cryptocurrency that has decent value on the present time like eth, ltc, and btc supported with comparison. And the most feature I like with them is they have a telegram channel we can subscribe to receive all their new without the need of visiting their webpage which i found very helpful.

When it comes to use i dont restrict my self to certain sites only as news can come from any where and dont want to miss out on the action but https://cointelegraph.com/, https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com, http://Coindesk.com and our press thread are good enough

Thank for pointing out press thread.

It seems that cointelegraph.com is on top of many lists, will have to check that out as well.

Right now discovered https://bitcoinmagazine.com/ and I am enjoying it because of the depth level which is not too much but much more than mainstream media.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will all coins continue to go down until 1st August? on: July 22, 2017, 08:08:46 PM
Initially I thought that BTC will go down dragging Altcoins with it till 1st of August.

But that was before the vote, now I am thinking that BTC will hold ts position and probably go down only a fraction before 1st August and then to the moon!
Offcourse if everything goes according to plan on 1st of August
1553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of news? on: July 19, 2017, 06:18:07 PM

Both sites are a scam. Vice is mainstream crap, they have no real depth knowledge. Bitcoin.com is Roger Ver/Bitmain/Craig Wrigh propaganda, avoid like the plague.

Bitcoinmagazine.com is decent.

Although I agree that VICE has very little if any real depth knowledge in crypto currencies, they are not crap. They have a lot of original stuff and decent guidelines. But that s an other topic. I mentioned their post because it had more detail than most of articles i seen about recent market changes.
Will definitely try Bitcoinmagazine.com. Thanks!

Few days ago, I encountered an app called Coin Market Apps. This app search, collect, filter and display latest news articles regarding bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from sources like Coindesk, Bitcoin Magazine, etc. thus give you blend of crypto news at one place. You can have a try.

That could be a good solution , where comfortably combine popular sources. Will give it a try after I check out the sources individually.

Thank you guys for all the input and help! Will definitely check out all of these sources.
I agree that there is not one best source.
This thread is not about one best source but was meant for finding good news sources based on members of this forum.
One should have several good sources so good view and opinion can form. Also it is a necessity  for reasonable discussions .
1554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is the best source of news? on: July 19, 2017, 03:36:20 PM
News are pretty important.
I think that it is general knowledge that there are events which are affecting or might affect the crypto market situation .
Thus its important to have fast, reliable and objective source of relevant events.

Right now my information sources mainly are: bitcoin.com, this forum and recently vice news

Vice recently had good article : https://news.vice.com/story/bitcoin-and-ether-recovering-from-weekend-crash

Bitcoin.com has pretty unique news feed. But downside is  sponsored articles and i would like more depth ,analysis in market situation and ideally relevant news from China in English.

Which cryto currency related news are the best in your mind ?
1555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will all coins continue to go down until 1st August? on: July 19, 2017, 01:04:32 PM
I think that is completely rational and reasonable to think that BTC will go down till 1st of August and then we will see what happens.
And most of the altcoins will go down with it.

But while observing the prices this logic is not completely true .

1) Look at the last 24 hours, BTC was dropping but ETH was going up like crazy.
Any explanations for this ?

2) LTC remained relatively stable , going considerably down only in the past hour or so .
I have heard a lot of that LTC seemingly is a choice for many moving investments from btc to ltc. Do someone has explanation for this ?

1556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is today the right time to start buying alt-coins? on: July 19, 2017, 12:50:28 PM
Tomorrow will be published voting results for segwit. If it will be denied-yes it is good time to invest in right coin

Where one could follow this event and find this kind of information ?
1557  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me a secret: any way to earn 0.1 BTC per week? on: July 19, 2017, 07:52:04 AM
I would like to know if anyone of you earns 0.1 BTC per week or even more? Is this possible and what is best way to earn it? Your experiences, suggestions and advices are very welcomed.

I am not sure if your question is purely about earning only crypto coins or is it about earning that amount of wealth by any job ?

I suppose that you are implying that you want to earn in internet or conducting bussines.
In this case I could suggest
1)selling in EBay , there are a lots of ways to do that not even getting off you chair nowadays.
2) if you are good writer and intelligent as well, you can try blogging.

In any case I would suggest to do multiple things since every job does not take all of your time at least at the start.

Good luck!
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH!! on: July 17, 2017, 09:47:13 PM
Is there a correlation between the price of eth and bitcoin? It seems like every time bitcoin drops, eth dips too. I am not sure about other coins as I am invested in these two. Would it be wise to sell off my eth and just hold bitcoins? It keeps trying to go over $200 but keeps flailing.

The price may drop further, I see eth predictions as low as $120, this will be bearish for a while yet, and recovery will wait until bitcoins gains traction. If bitcoin dips further, expect sub $80 eth.

I am closely monitoring ETH, BTC and litecoin. It seems that they have strong correlation , they grow and drop simultaneously .
My opinion is that they should not have any technical link but simply BITCOIN is "golden benchmark" in crypto currency world . That is if BTC is dropping than investors are certain that everything else will drop and are selling other currencies as well.

On other hand I myself do not like this logic because it would be rational to go from one currency to another if something is seemingly wrong with the first one.
But what kind of explanation is there?

P.s. Thinking of making graph analysis and starting new thread at some point
1559  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I start investing in cryptocurrency? on: July 13, 2017, 09:54:57 PM
Hello guys. Im pretty new to cryptocurrency. So I have read  for about 1 month news and articles about altcoins and bitcoin, mining vs buying crypto, trading and investing, checking each day price of top 10 coins. I do understand that I can not make billions since I should started few years ago. But I really like the idea of crypto and I would like to support / help it by buying / investing some money into altcoins. I dont have enough money to buy bitcoin. Here come questions :

1) Im interested in benefit / result in long term. So I want to make my portfolio low risk. I have read here on forum different opinions like “litecoin is total ***” and that “all altcoins dont have future” and “bubble of altcoins will be destroyed”. As Im pretty newbie on which factors should I first look at? Capitalisation? Creator of coin? Technologie or protocol?
2) Would you suggest to divide my start capital in 10 parts?
3) Is it OK to buy part of bitcoin and not whole coin?
4) Is it good time to buy now coins since almost every coin is dropping in price? Should I wait now or buy after SegWit?
5) Can you please link other forums or websites with helpful info for exploring and learning?
6) And some reliable websites for buying crypto from Europe and online wallets?
7) If I also want to try mining should I start then with coins like litecoin and ripple?
Cool Which alternative is good to programm Coinigy (trading programm) ?

Thanks for reading and good luck all.

i suggest you visit coinmarketcap site, kindly google it
you can know more o about the altcoin by reading and clicking links provided on the site
yes i agree you should not put all your investment in one basket
yeah its good to buy when its bloody alts value is rapidly dumping so its wise to bid more lower than buying directly
consider coins with big community and continious progress on projects  and those who have trading volume always
goodluck with your trading

What do you mean by " so its wise to bid more lower than buying directly" ?
Do you mean put on order for lower value than it is in specific moment ?
1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH!! on: July 13, 2017, 09:44:58 PM
Eth is going down & down!
I am so afraid
Can it grow up in this month?
any possibility?

I am not currently holding ETH but I am interested in it and will definitely buy it.

In my mind right now it is "correcting itself " after last big bump and at the moment there is no reason why it should go down more.
This possibly is the time to stock up on it. My prediction that it will stay at the same level for some time till its going up again.

Definitely not the time to sell.

If you think about the evolution of cryptocurrencies,  all of the coins are yet very young and have a long time to live. It is a correction or you may call it a panic selling. So holding them would be a best idea right now and it applies to all of the top altcoins.

I agree and with "correcting itself "  I was thinking that one of the reasons price was dropping from high of  28th, 29th of June  is that the short term profit junkies were selling and also the 1st of August now could be a factor . Also in my mind  ~ 200   is something like a psychological barrier where it will be for a while.
