I created time to read the whitepaper yesterday, I can't fully understand the technical jargons, what I could pick out from this is that Ark is trying to merge both Lisk and Bitshares technology into one. Please, I would appreciate this if someone can explain in a plain language what Ark is trying to do for the non-technical people like me. thanks
Bitshares created DPoS, Lisk is a copy of Crypti code which is also DPoS. Lisk is a system for Sidechains and APPS, ARK is a Platform with a streamlined Core blockchain that uses SmartBridges and Encoded Listeners to link together any blockchain and allow them to communicate and send trigger functions to each other. One thing we are also going to focus on is Use Cases and Hardware transfer devices to increase user adoption of blockchain. Hope that will help. |

The platform has great development plans (according to the whitelist). But the sum of all ICO 2000BTC. Assuming that 20-40% will be spent on rent, promotions, events and ong activity, the question arises: due to what will be paid for the work of the group as a term of 1-2 years?
the benefit of DPoS is that there are a known set of node operators that can forge. One goal that we have is to have the community vote for us with their ark and use that as a source of income while we develop this project. So will need MUCH less for salaries from the initial exchanged coins than most projects. We have been working amazingly together for the past 7 months while living in 15 different countries. I think we will be fine without an expensive office for a while. We also have an in team Financial Manager who will oversee investments and our finances...ya know in a professional manner. |

If one must wait until February until it shows up on Polo or Bittrex, then it might force some people to go to Liqui.  That is a true statement yes. Have you used Liqui before? I used Bittrex and Poloniex when they first arrived on the scene. Sometimes new exchanges appear and they work hard to gain market share which is very hard to do. This is not an Endorsement for Liqui, never used them myself. Just about open mindedness. |

First 22m of lisk will get 120% bonus? Too much imo, 22m is worth more than 4k btc, much higher than your threshold.  That is only true for the first 24 hours. after the first 24h and until the end of the first week it will be 70%. Second week is 40% so not so bad unless you think we'll get all 22 million on the first day but then obviously we'll be able to launch at the end of the TEC. |

Yes, if we don't raise the starting 2000 BTC valuation then all the LISK that we collect will also be refunded. It is a risky market to be raising money into. 2000 BTC seems quite high in the current market conditions. Any plans to lower this amount or revisit the threshold in the future? Depends. The hardware aspect of our project is one of the major factors that we must be able to deal with so there must be a certain amount of funding required. If anything, if the goal is not met, we may just launch and provide an OTC exchange for ARK with consistent price increases but to be honest, we haven't put a lot of thought into a contingency. We really do believe we can raise the requirement so I guess we will cross that bridge when we get to it. That sounds reasonable, but I ask because it might cause people to be a little hesitant to support the project, knowing the token sale might be canceled. For example, people do have to put in effort for bounties. They may hold off on doing so before they feel more certain the project can raise 2000 BTC. This will cause it to reach fewer people, ultimately causing it more likely to miss its targets. In my experience, it is usually not a good idea to cap ICOs for this reason. Happy to be proven wrong of course. Yes you are right about the cap as it can make people hold off on investing but we have put a lot of thought into it and have had heated discussions on if we should have a starting limit. We also don't want to be stuck with too little funding and cannot deliver on promises. That's not how we like to work. Thanks for your very reasonable answers.
