I wonder if Xavi has any plans to change his classical tiki-taka game strategy in the future. It works very well in the La Liga maybe but it is like that only there. We have all seen that it didn't work on Inter and Bayern Munich both in the Champions League group stage. Barcelona were able to get only one point in the four matches in total they played against those two teams. This obsolete strategy doesn't work against big teams in short. They failed hard against Real Madrid in the El Clasico here as well.

Even if they win the La Liga title this season I hope Xavi still thinks about making some changes in his game plan for next season. Otherwise he might experience another disaster in the Champions League which might be the end of his management career at Barcelona.

Because they have looked just like that in the recent times of the league. They have made a big improvement in defense which has brought about a good streak for them. They conceded only 1 goal lately which is really amazing. We don't know if they will be able to keep the same motivation level by their first league match after the break. Their opponent is Newcastle which is one of the toughest challenges at the moment. But unless Leicester lose their focus I still believe that they can steal at least one point here.

Geçen sezon da Monaco'dan son anlarda ikinciliği kapmışlardı ve ben bu sezon da bu seviyeyi koruyabileceklerine inanıyorum.

Zidane would cost Juventus too much money even if the rumours turn out to be true. Because before anything else his salary would be really high. Even Graham Potter has signed a huge deal with Chelsea so I can't even imagine Zidane's cost of returning to club management. Aside from his salary, Juventus' current squad wouldn't be enough for Zidane to reach their and his targets with the club. I think they still have serious weaknesses in some positions despite their good form in the Serie A lately.

Zidane would like to make new signings and I don't know if Juventus can spend that much money these days. Because as far as I know their finance is not in good condition now.

One of the upcoming matches is Betis v Athletic Bilbao. This is a really tough fixture for both clubs to tell the truth. Because they have the same points in the league now. They are both clubs that haven't conceded so many goals so far. Athletic Bilbao have been more effective as for scoring goals. Their recent forms are still the same though. I think Betis have an advantage in this match. Because they have been one of the most successful home clubs with 5 wins in 7 matches until now.

As for Athletic Bilbao's away performance, they have lost so many points. They drew with Sevilla and lost to Barcelona in away matches recently. Betis have a very nice home record against them as well. In this case, I might think of betting on Betis to win @2.76. I'm saying this despite Athletic Bilbao's being favoured by bookies by a small margin.

I wonder how excited and ambitious Chelsea players are now. If I were in their place I would have looked forward to playing our next match in the league and get a win finally. Because Chelsea couldn't get any win for five weeks. They scored only 2 goals in total in these matches which is just horrible. This isn't the Chelsea we have known so far that's for certain. Tuchel's departure and Potter's arrival haven't changed anything at all for now. I know that Potter still needs time but Chelsea are getting away from top 4 week by week.

The fans wouldn't expect less than a ticket to the Champions League. As long as they don't win the Champions League title this season surprisingly, their job is really hard to make it there next season.

David Datro Fofana is a done deal for Chelsea at the moment. They have reached an agreement with his team for a 12 million euro transfer fee.

He is a very young player (20) and he is a quite skilled striker as well seemingly. Because he has 17 goals and 6 assists in 29 matches with Molde in this season. This is his first season playing this much effective in the attacking line. This performance must have made a big impact on Chelsea officials to go for him. His cheap price must have been also effective in that. Nkunku is going to be the main striker of the team of course. But maybe Fofana can adapt to Chelsea much better than Broja and he would be Nkunku's substitute.

Çünkü Yüzüklerin Efendisi'nin bölük pörçük hikayesini hatırladığımda gülesim geliyor.    Umarım bu sefer gerçekten özenli bir iş ortaya koyarlar.

Freiburg seem to be more successful than the previous season for now. There haven't been many players to leave the team compared to the previous season actually. Schlotterbeck was an important loss for the team of course. He joined Dortmund for 20 million euros and Freiburg lost a young talent in defense. Matthias Ginter was signed on a free transfer which was still a good job for them. Currently they are the second least conceding team in the league after Bayern Munich. Maybe Bayern Munich scored double the number of Freiburg scored but the gap between them is still only four points.

This is a good success for Freiburg but let's see how long they can keep this level. They barely missed the chance of finishing the season in top 4 while fighting with Leipzig for that. This time maybe they can finally achieve their goal even more comfortably.

When it comes to Kulusevski his performance is really playing an important role for Tottenham. He has been loaned from Juventus and I think Tottenham weren't expecting him to be this much effective in such a short time. He is a very beneficial right winger now with 5 assists and 1 goal in 12 matches so far. Even when he doesn't make any assist he still makes a great contribution with really good runs in the attacking line and impressive passes and crosses as well. Conte must be contented with his effort.

His absence due to injury was really felt in his position and on their attacks. But he is back with 2 assists already. Tottenham might make a big effort to extend his loan deal or maybe sign him permanently.

Milan have a good opportunity ahead of them to close up the gap with Napoli. Because their opponent is Salernitana while Inter and Napoli are facing each other on the same week. Milan shouldn't underestimate their opponent of course. Salernitana seem stronger than the previous season now. They defeated Lazio away and got a point from Juventus as well. The point amount they have collected so far must be a danger sign for Milan absolutely. Salernitana lost to some big teams too of course but they are really unpredictable.

Milan need to make a good comeback after losing many points and causing the gap with the leader to get bigger. This match is a big chance to do so. Giroud has had a good World Cup period so I think he would also make a nice contribution.

Yeah Messi was also seeming very determined about retiring from his national team. But I have also seen those news such as he won't be retiring soon. Maybe this World Cup title was a motivation for him to play even more time for his country rather than being enough for ending his national team career. Argentina would definitely like to see him playing for them for more years. Because they are very used to playing with a leader like Messi and I don't think they have a backup plan yet to implement in the absence of him.

Benzema's place can still be filled in France by the way. Giroud played really well in this World Cup and scored many goals. He can continue to play in his place or they can find another good striker to fill this place as France have really good talents.

I really like his playing style. He reminds me of Rüdiger to tell the truth. Gvardiol also likes to support the attacks of the team by good runs into the midfield. He plays an active role in even the attacking side from time to time. His marking and tackles are already very impressive at such a young age - 20. There have been a year and a half since he joined the team from Dinamo Zagreb. He has five years left on his contract with Leipzig but Leipzig wouldn't have much choice to do other than letting him go in this case. I guess that he would absolutely like to sign for a team like Real Madrid.

Dortmund will need to be concentrated on their Bundesliga matches even more from now on. Because they have made so many point losses recently and they have been able to win only the half of the matches they played. These results have thrown them to the sixth position in the league standings of course. I understand that they aren't as passionate as Bayern Munich to win the Bundesliga title. However the fans must be still waiting for them to do better than this. Because they aren't used to seeing Dortmund that much bad.

Dortmund should still be able to finish the season at the second position. Their current squad has a really good quality and they are definitely better than all of the teams except Bayern Munich. They just need to show this by action in the rest of the season. Their not being able to qualify for the Champions League would be unacceptable by the board I guess.

The opening match of the 17th week of the season is going to be Brentford v Tottenham.

First of all, Brentford don't have a good luck against Tottenham. They couldn't beat Tottenham in their club history. They were at least able to steal one point here in the previous season. However I don't expect even that to happen this time. Tottenham immediately need a decent form in the league. Because they have lost so many points recently and this caused them to get away from the title contenders quite much. Newcastle have also left them behind thanks to the amazing win streak they have.

Brentford ended their winless streak with a Manchester City victory. However there has been a long time since then. I think Tottenham will make a strong return by defeating Brentford.

Verstappen made a comment about F1 drivers again and his target was clearly Perez of course. He said that some drivers should know their place and accept that they are not better than their teammates. He gave Bottas as an example as well. He really didn't make difficulties for Hamilton much in general. He accepted being the second driver and obeyed by team calls nearly all the time. Verstappen is clearly expecting Perez to do the same not to have in-team problems. We all know how ambitious Verstappen is so he might make this a big problem.

We all remember the Verstappen - Ricciardo relationship. The one between Verstappen and Perez might turn into that one in the future. After what Verstappen did to Perez and cost him losing the second spot, Perez might not stay calm from now on. I expect him to do his best to compete with Verstappen as well.

Haaland definitely resembles Ibrahimovic with his playing style. Even his amazing goal against Dortmund in the Champions League directly reminded me of Ibrahimovic's similar goals in his career. Ibrahimovic scored so many very impressive goals like that so far. It feels nice to see Haaland sharing a skill with one of the best strikers like Ibrahimovic. In the end, this kind of great players are getting close to the end of their careers on one hand. It would be really nice to see them in younger and talented players as well.

Haaland is a candidate to be one of the legends already now. He needs to keep this level for many more years to be called as a legend. His finishing skills are amazingly good and I don't see any match for him among the players who are playing football actively now.
