It's all rigged. These btc gambling sites are just used for money laundering.

Volume has been a joke for days now, anyone care to explain to an amateur why the price is rising?
Because Bitcoin is massively undervalued manipulated.

A gov shutdown isn't really significant. But, failure to raise the debt ceiling by Oct 17 is...
When is the last time Gox had this kind of volume on the weekend?
the gods!!! what mega-buys!!
If ask sum goes under 40,000 on Gox, then one of two things will happen:
1. we immediately plummet, prob double digits within a day; or
2. rocket 25-30 dollars up, then immediately plummet to double digits within a day.
You heard it hear. I expect praise, including blowjobs, when proven correct.

This rally is annoying. All low/med sized buys. Prevents chances for quick sell/buy turnarounds. I.e., it is not a rally but a planned demolition. Single digits on the horizon my friend. Shut up walz, you drama queen Forget which account you're logged in to? No. I was trying to be polite by saving some bull-tard the time to reply to my initial post.

Thanks mr. loozik, sir.
Is there a way to focus on, or blow up, the volume averages? That is the only thing I am interested in.
Side-note. WTf, gox is showing ~4000 24hr volume right now. Doesn't that volume indicator usually peak around this time of day on Weds or Thurs? This is sub-weekend level....

Institutional investors will add stability have a long history of hyper-inflating assets. Growth in price should become more gradual with greater adoption will rocket up until the investors decide to crash it. Everyone Bitcoiner-fanatics want Bitcoin to spread so they can sell high after the big jump. It's more likely that increased adoption will increase stability and force you to wait a long time for your big jump Expect a huge irrational bump in price once institutional investors start drinking the kool-aid. It will still happen but not at the "get rich quick" pace everyone would like New MEGA-whales can and will get rich and then crash the market. All the common manipulation schemes infesting stocks and other speculative markets are quickly invading the cryptocurrency arena. Good times ahead.
Yea...

Which charting site allows me to view volume averages? I'd like a 5 and 10 day.

Those who are finally accepting that we hit the ceiling around $150. To single digits from here.

This is as silly as basing a trust on the typical penny stock. lol.

well, they've clearly been operating quite happily for a while, bitcoin or no.
wait and see, i say.
huh? we don't need to wait and see. A the present time there is NOTHING safe about a bitcoin investment. It is inherently speculative and probably will be for many years, at least until we get clarity on a bunch of related legal issues. WAY WAY WAY too early for this shit. It will just hurt bitcoin's already shaky reputation when these things get shut down.

SEC will go after anyone, anywhere offering investment or investment-like opportunities to US citizens. This is different than AML/KYC stuff, which is the focus of FINCEN.
That is going to get shut down by the SEC real quick. assuming the follow applicable AML and such, why would it get shut down? Doesn't have to do with AML. SEC focuses on potentially unsafe or risky investments. It is not clear that ANY bitcoin-based investment will pass the SEC smell-test at the present time. Especially, considering how many legal hurdles bitcoin still must overcome.
