So, they have 17,800 BTC.
Liquidity will be limited. They can't tell what the tax would be.
Nothing special.

This company is just a debt buyer. On August 30, someone bought 17,800 BTC from gox and sold them to secondmarket for $ (as GOX can't pay them $, this is like a debt). Now secondmarket will sel this debt to investors.

Bitcoin is money, virtual gold, gold 2.0, currency, a payment system,  but it is not debt.

lol this

Why you wouldn't at least wait til the morning to see the impact this news makes is beyond me.

If everyone waits to see the impact, there can only be one that takes place.

So how are the speculators doing here?

Price seems to hold, I expected it to fall by now.

We are almost October, still 3 months to go before the end of the year.

I'm still thinking/hoping we will see a dip between now and the end of the year.

Which charting site allows me to view volume averages? I'd like a 5 and 10 day.

We are on the brink of a huge break out to the upside. Better not wait too long for that dip to come imo. Wink

Price is stable. Eerily stable, no? current price ≃ 24h average ≃ 30d average, on both mtgox and bitstamp.

What does that tells us? I'm not sure, to be honest. Looking at the historical precedence, I would expect a solid upward break out. But my intuition says it won't be that easy.

Actually, no, I'm only in this since April (I know, I know). But that's the period I meant by "historical precedence" for upward breakout.

Institutional investors will add stability. Growth in price should become more gradual with greater adoption. Everyone wants Bitcoin to spread so they can sell high after the big jump. It's more likely that increased adoption will increase stability and force you to wait a long time for your big jump. It will still happen but not at the "get rich quick" pace everyone would like.

Institutional investors will add stability have a long history of hyper-inflating assets. Growth in price should become more gradual with greater adoption will rocket up until the investors decide to crash it. Everyone Bitcoiner-fanatics want Bitcoin to spread so they can sell high after the big jump. It's more likely that increased adoption will increase stability and force you to wait a long time for your big jump Expect a huge irrational bump in price once institutional investors start drinking the kool-aid. It will still happen but not at the "get rich quick" pace everyone would like New MEGA-whales can and will get rich and then crash the market. All the common manipulation schemes infesting stocks and other speculative markets are quickly invading the cryptocurrency arena. Good times ahead.

Anyone who sells a single Bitcoin right now is a complete moron.  There is a truly limited supply which doesn't exist anywhere else in the investment world. When the institutional investors get their hands on them, (which they have been unable to do until today) they won't be selling them back to you or putting them on these amateur exchanges. They could easily buy every Bitcoin on all of the exchanges in a couple of days.  When the price goes to $1000, it could happen overnight and your tiny $200 ask price will be eaten on the way up.  You haven't seen a real whale yet.
