1561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 09, 2013, 09:30:37 PM
How is it this coin has been around this long without a working miner for linux? I can't get any version of a quark miner to compile on my linux box. something about line 8 in autogen pointing at a nonexistent file.

SO... About Doubloons. What happened to the Tx Fee? It's gone FUBAR. Anything I try to send over 0.1 get's a crazy fee requested. For example, a 1DBL Tx I was trying to send asked for a 0.8DBL fee.

 Huh

Try sending 10x 0.1 dbl?

0.1 request a 0.10 fee
1 requests a 0.8 fee

seems kinda steep to me

If youre sending tx that have lots of inputs... it is possible.
Try sending few times in smaller amount.

i'm trying to send a 1.278 DBL Tx and the damn thing wants a 1.2 DBL fee

edit: @ 2.38 DBL it wants a 1.4 DBL fee

My P2pool is alive
http://rav3n.dtdns.net:8345
Use your dbl payout address as username and anything as password.

I will personally attest to rav3n's pool working well. I actually recommend it over coinmine for DBL.

1574  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best OS for bitcoin mining? on: November 24, 2013, 01:53:50 PM
If you fancy a GUI, use Windows.
If you're experienced with Linux, Linux would be the best.

Make sure you're not mining on CPU / GPU for Bitcoins else it'll be useless.

aight so if I mine with linux i cant mine on cpu or gpu , ammm what should i mine on?

You can mine with either your gpu or cpu in linux. I think AuroraHF meant mining bitcoin without an ASIC is pointless
1575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best OS for bitcoin mining? on: November 24, 2013, 01:32:29 PM
I think it Will be windows. For best mining performance you will need the best drivers for your GPS, which are at the moment only for windows.

not true. up to date linux drivers are available from AMD and incredibly easy to install.
1576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best OS for bitcoin mining? on: November 24, 2013, 01:31:38 PM
linux is the way. DO NOT use OpenSuSe. I use it and the biggest issue with suse is that some of the dependencies for various coins are hard as hell to find.

I suggest Arch Linux or Ubuntu for mining purposes. Use ubuntu if you've never run linux before.
