This should get you going.

replace my BTC address with your BTC address; and either delete " **INSERT ID HERE**, " or change it to " SOMETHINGELSE, "

thanks a ton! i have so much to learn it's staggering

Once you get your feet wet you realize its actually somewhat simple.

The hard part is testing everything over and over and over again....  Its taxing....  This is why I support minerx in what hes doing here with his version of my batch;  it surely lightens the load Wink  He goes that step further and provides a whole package.

I'm an ass and make people do their own work... lol

If you haven't yet, reading through my posts via the batch file link in my signature;  you could learn a lot of the juicy stuff.  Things like the normalization, the original batch file, etc... they all do (hopefully) a good job at describing what's what and how it works and will bring more scope to what you must pay attention to.

1563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking to build a small, 1 gpu (GTX 980) rig. on: May 22, 2017, 11:56:29 PM
If you already have 9xx series cards, by all means use them - I just wouldn't bother BUYING any of them for a mining rig unless they were SUPER SUPER cheap - and I'd be iffy about it even then.

I'd also ignore anything below the 980 completely as far as buying cheaply goes.

A < $100 960 is worth picking up for instance.  They don't usually draw more than 60% TDP anyways.
1564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ROI question on mining rigs on: May 22, 2017, 11:27:43 PM
I'm lucky... I get deals on computer parts since I live in Silicon Valley....

memory is dirt to me and my friend (he used to be a head at PIIceon back in the day)...

The last H97 Anniversary We ordered for Henry's rackminer only cost $130 shipped... came with ram and processor too.

That price is bonkers if you ask me...

Let me try and break down the price of Henry's Rackminer:

$130 MB+CPU+RAM (ebay score BIN)
$100 Rosewill 4U case (he got a deal on Amazon for damaged box/returned or something retarded)
$100 Coolmax 1600w PSU (his friend sells them)
$80  6x risers (right angle, and 6 pin connector)
$2000 ($400/ea)5x GTX 1080 (used, craigslist)
$600 2x GTX 1070 (Used, CL again)
$25  Ace hardware, aluminum trim for making bracketry to support the GPU
$45 130CFM fans x3
....   I dont think I missed anything else....

That's $3080..... and it does this:
http://zpool.ca/?address=1kLsGT9egk3utSKZH46ydTbKj5oMnmBoN

Presently he has added a second 1070, so he had me put both his 1070's in his home pc so he could game on them as well... that's why you see two miners....   subtract .5Gh if you don't want to count one of the 1070's.  still quite a profit...
1565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NemosMiner-v1.7.3 multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner for MPH & ZPOOL on: May 22, 2017, 10:15:18 PM
Working well, thank you.

I did a small mod to the .bat which lets you choose which GPU devices you want to utilize. Just put "-d 0,1", ect at DEV=
don't forget that intensity works in the same way for rigs with different cards:

I.E.
%A% -r 0 -a -i 12,14 %A16% -o stratum+tcp://%A16%.%POOL%:5033 -u %ADDY% -p %PASS% %DEV%

what does puting 2 numbers after -i do? i usually only add a single number eg -i  21 or -i  17

for example  -i 12,14 which intensity would it use 12 or 14 ?

Regards Nemo

That's the intensity selection per-card.

so for a:  -d 0,1,2      (3 video cards)
you can trim intensity per card:  -i 16,26,23 (respectively)

To ID GPU in the system, run nvidiainspector, and it shows gpu number at bottom per gpu.

*edit*

in your case, probably add this up top with the variables:

INT=-i 23,24,25

and add to the string at the end to utilize: ...%A16%.%POOL%:5033 -u %ADDY% -p %PASS% %DEV% %INT%

This is solely for the people with mixed density systems that have an old ass gpu in the mix that won't hash with the high intensity.  Up north I have a few machines with mixed 9 and 6 series.
1566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CMTX GPU ? on: May 22, 2017, 08:32:59 PM
interesting.   Would be nice to see the results compared to the other brands for reliability, and clock stability.

Second Instance:
ccminer.exe -d 2,3 -i 26,26 -a skein -o stratum+tcp://skein.mine.zpool.ca:5033 -u BTC ADDRESS -p   Miner1Instance2,c=BTC,etc.....

Why do you use c=BTC?
I thought BTC is default and "c=" is for payments in other currencies.

I need think to be safe, putting c=BTC no harm done.

In fact the OP, Mr. crackfoo has suggested the same.

Also, no blanks in between commas if you need to put additional switches.

I believe in all examples I have originally seen, it showed commas.   I know other apps just want the numbers listed.
1568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are you mining with older generation Nvidia cards? on: May 22, 2017, 03:21:51 PM
you can choose your payout coin;  but it relies on the pool mining enough to pay you out in that coin (which usually there are multiple coins/algo....)
I highly suggest getting paid in BTC... you could always use an exchange to turn into an alt.

before I was using a spmod version and tpruvot...  but the alexis version does comparable hashrates on other algos too.   ITs been awhile since I've done a round of testing all the new app versions;  it takes a LOT of time (waiting for hashrates to stabilize, etc).

there's a batch file link with tons of resources in there;  and that's in my signature just below in the right.

Right now;  with that alexis build and skein, it rains supreme compared to most other algos to mine....

Originally I did the pool controlled profit switching between algos.

Later, I swapped primarily to lyra2v2 cause of the nvidia  higher hashrates, but when profitability dropped, I went to skein for more consistent payouts and smaller diff coins.... been there since profitability was less than 0.002mbtc/Mh..   It remains consistent.

Recently the market is in such a flux, that things like the dump today on DGB (went from nearly 1K sat to 300 and back to 600....) will make your profitability fluctuate thorughout the day, so your graph shows odd drops in the earnings as blocks are found.

One of the drawbacks of less payments per day, especially Sundays, since there is only one chance.

what about changing sunday time to end of day? might help the smaller guys.

I am currently running NemosMiner to stretch the legs of a brand new Zotac 1080Ti (and my old 980Ti).
I am also trying out MSI Gaming M5.
This NemosMiner... reminds me of the Jared Karagen scripts not too long ago.

*truncated*

The miner is spending a lot of time mining Skein at the moment - see below.
I haven't done any changes to boost settings on the 1080Ti and 980Ti.
Any performance suggestions and do's and dont's for this 1080Ti?

*truncated*

It is based off my batch, which is totally fine.  It's a public resource if you ask me personally, plus crackfoo gave my a very generous donation in the past for posting and updating it.

I love seeing my code snippets all over the net... not just these batch files, but there are others lurking here and there in other sites/apps that I keep quiet about... im not one with an EGO.

skein is really the most profitable ATM.  the switches are just during market flux when buy or sell order spreads spike up....  but it's usually short lived; and the price has to stay up for the auto-exchange to actually benefit.

I don't really do any bios mods myself... im not a power pincher.. but you have a lot at stake, and it could add up.

Phil has been running at -30% power or so I believe, and I have see GPU clocks +300 I believe and good results....

Check intensity settings;
quickly make a batch to launch just skein;  but add -i 26 to the string.   let it smooth out over 3-5 min, then note hashrate;  try up to an intensity of 29; and as low as 21... might be able to tune in hash per watt better that way.  If you up intensity by one, and don't see an increase, back it off one and leave it there, or maybe back it off one more if the below mentioned conditions arise.

But default intensity on ccmineralexis78 has been pretty spot-on for 9-10 series cards aside from the low end 9 series cards, which like an intensity of ~23.  If you put intensity too high, you will see hashrate suffer a bit (sometimes errors and no hashrate), and the display updates are insanely slow.  I get mine to the point where the display updates are a little skippy (dragging the window around) and HID inputs (KB/mouse) aren't horribly delayed.   Seems to be the sweet spot for me.
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are you mining with older generation Nvidia cards? on: May 22, 2017, 01:38:27 PM
Very cool, I think I could get a 1080 in here for like 480$ lightly used, what's really holding me back is the fact that they aren't pulling as good revenue, on Zcash they are pulling around 550 sols so that's about 155$ monthly, which is comparable to an RX 480 pulling 30mhs at eth, with almost half the price.

Just try skein @ zpool on a 10 series using ccmineralexis78 for two days.... as a test.

I think you'll come around to seeing the increase in profit compared to the 3 coins the herd flocks to  Wink  Measuring nvidia solely on zcash is one of the biggest bothers in my life right now.... lol.
1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: advice needed on 6 GPU Zotac mini 1070 rig stop hashing on: May 22, 2017, 01:02:17 PM
What exact miner app/version are you running? (are you running lets say a hacked no-fee claymore miner or something?)

What is the GPU temp when it cuts out?

Whats the ambient temp when it cuts out?

Whats the internal rig temp when it shuts off?

What's the line voltage at the socket you are using to power the miner? [while its mining full ham] (this i want to know the most)

Using nvidiainspector, check the P-state of the video cards while mining, and also after the miner app stops hashing but without closing the miner app....

Typically you see this when:

The line voltage is too low and the PSU is having trouble maintaining at that rate, or the PSU is underrated for the load you are putting on it.
The video cards are overheating

Sometimes its a config issue... but who knows.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU rig with dual PSUs.. how many watts each?? on: May 22, 2017, 12:56:54 PM
Ill agree;  one PSU is less fuss than a multiple PSU setup.  Less mass, less weight, etc.

But;
For the MB, you could get away with an old "retail pc" PS of like 200-250W; then just use a second PSU that has enough +12V amperage to supplement the GPU's risers and fans separate.  Just be sure the second PSU has a switch-on time equal or less than the main motherboard PSU or issues will arise.

Using newer GPU's (average of < 150w each lets say), and staying under 7 GPU;  I don't see why a 1000-1100w PSU wouldn't be more than enough.... and they are ~$100 or less nowadays.    Far from when a 1000w+ PSU was a minimum of a $250 investment...

I got my last Coolmax 1600W PSU that's in my current RackMiner for $100 used.   It's only Silver rated... but it was only $100.   Hands down, better than a 2 PSU config in every way.
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: May 22, 2017, 12:50:46 PM
oah snap;  I misread your naming of the miner names in the password string.  I thought they were listed as the amounts of cards in each rig XD

any NH company members here vouch for this?
1576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ROI question on mining rigs on: May 22, 2017, 12:47:39 PM
has anyone done any comparison between mining rigs vs. buying hashing from somewhere like nicehash?  If there isn't too much of a price difference, might remove some of the risk of owning mining equipment and/or the ability to purchase various hashing algorithms.

I am a firm believer of renting is more expensive than owning.

Less to invest, but waaaay more to risk in investment to rent.
1577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are you mining with older generation Nvidia cards? on: May 22, 2017, 12:15:45 PM
on skein the ones I know off the top of my head:

960: 199Mh
980: 354Mh
1060: ~300Mh (probably more as I havent looked at what the new alexis78 version does on it yet)
1070: 520Mh
1080: ~650Mh (memory is fuzzy, they are in my buddies rig)

If you are going frugal but 10 series; get a 1060's.  at <$200/ea for EVGA superclocked BNIB... can't lose.
If you are willing to spend a little more;  1070 is superbly a sweet spot.
If you are a frugal baller;  1080's are awesome; just wait for a $400 one to hit CL.  It happens often when people want a Ti now.

Phillip has been buying up 1080Ti's and has rave reviews.   hash per watt is unbeatable... but they garnish a heavy price tag.

http://zpool.ca/?address=1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP
The equivalent of 3 GTX 1070 mine on this account.   They aren't all 1070's, but they add up to it hash wise, so you can get an idea of profitability.  My "total paid" history, is basically a constant 1.5Gh average up till yesterday.

Just the other day one of my buddies stuck a 1060 in a machine i have mining in his warehouse when he's there and he turns it on;  so it has a 960_1060 and pulls about the same hash as a 1070 (+or- 20Mh).

You can see on the graph it just barely started reaching the 3Gh mark;  typically its 1.4-1.6Gh.   Another buddy's PC mines for me when he has it turned on, but that's not a full-time deal, and very spotty when it comes online....   so grain of salt to the actual profitability in the short term totals.
1578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: May 22, 2017, 12:03:58 PM
after all my hyping up skein;  the hashrate on zpool has over tripled in the last week.... (just looked, actually more than 5x)  So I am glad that some people are finally coming around to seeing that everyone jumping on the same horse slows down the ride for everyone aboard.

Im curious on how profitability will flux because of the increase in hash.  I have always maintained the belief (though my own findings over the last year) that if pool hashrate grows beyond a certain point;  you don't feel the luck spikes near as much; and in the end;  overall profitability deltas down a bit.

but then again, the markets are in such a flux recently, that it's hard to distinguish ATM.  I did however love it when I was 10-30% of the pool hashrate for only 1Gh....   Those were some damned good profitable days.  And everyone was screaming about ETH and ZEC value dropping/diff rising.

DGB almost broke 1000 satoshis... which is unheard of.  a week ago it climbed to 100.....
AUR has been garnishing buy and hold support as well, so Skein keeps maintaining its high profitability.

When I start trying to max out the wattage I can safely consume at my home (power included free with my with rent), Ill be looking to underclock my machines just so I can fit more cards in play;  I think it should make it a little better to have more cards running slightly underclocked; than to have less cards running full-ham.

Phillip;

As a test, maybe take that 4 card rig, and split it into two instances of ccminer for 2 cards each....   I wonder if it would give you a little extra on the pool-hashrate-calculation side of things and increase profitability a little.

I.E.
First instance:
ccminer.exe -d 0,1 -i 26,26 -a skein -o stratum+tcp://skein.mine.zpool.ca:5033 -u BTC ADDRESS -p  Miner1Instance1,c=BTC,etc.....

Second Instance:
ccminer.exe -d 2,3 -i 26,26 -a skein -o stratum+tcp://skein.mine.zpool.ca:5033 -u BTC ADDRESS -p   Miner1Instance2,c=BTC,etc.....

In a few instances I was able to get a little more out of some rigs.  It also helps for shotty or high latency internet connections sometimes.  More data out sometimes helps push packets through the ISP's systems.  It was a big problem for me previously on my cellular connections.

YMMV though.
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gauging interest in a (to be enclosed) frame to mount 6 GPUs for the home miner on: May 22, 2017, 11:11:01 AM
Looking at the dimensions it should be possible to mount the mobo either on top; or with a slightly higher top: hanging upside down towards the gpus.  The PSU can always be set on the side.  I can understand leaving sides DIY, but I think you should also offer an all in one version that holds the mobo and PSU as well.

In general I think this is a good idea; it could be placed alongside a standard desktop to easily convert it into a mining rig.

Especially if you use PCIE splitters as their adaptor bracket has provisions for mounting PCIE devices outside the PC case;)  One cable from computer to video card array;  and I guess you would have to sort out a way to have power to the GPU's linked to the PC as well.

Too bad there isn't an unused pin on that USB3 riser cable;  you could just send the PS_ON line through there to the satellite GPU frame's power source.
