Yes I think what happened was someone got a list of hashes or passwords form another site (several have been breached recently) and people that were using the same email/ password on multiple sites got their Teamviewer accounts compromised. If you use 2FA and a password manager you are doing WAY more for your security than the average user!

Looking for a little information. If I am buying a relatively small amount of BTC (maybe a few hundred dollars) and I live in the US, what are my options for paying the lowest fees? Should I be looking at a specific website, or just try to find a trusted member here and pay whatever payment method they will charge the lowest fees for?
I have bought a few dollars worth of BTC before but never anything major and appreciate any advice I can get to reduce paying a large amount of fees as a new user. I have access to cash, credit cards, paypal.

If anyone wants to sell a small amount of BTC for paypal like this let me know. (Send me a message etc) I've bought a small amount with paypal before and don't mind providing my details like phone number, using escrow etc if necessary.

Something that people might not think about- if people weren't buying/ selling bitcoin, the price would not increase. If someone didn't pay 10,000 bitcoin for a pizza, would bitcoin be worth so much now? Probably not. The fact that people started taking bitcoin for goods and services is the reason they are worth money today.

With the halving, a lot of in-efficient old miners will be shut down. But there is also a new wave of ASIC miners about to be released. I'm not sure what this will do to the hashrates being produced/ difficulty. Someone who knows a lot about mining can predict much better what will happen during this halving.

I find it hard to believe that ANY investment site is not a scam. They buy cheap website hosting, put up an address, and hope people send them bitcoin. Any of the addresses they show that they are sending payments to are probably an address they own, and they move some coins back and forth to show they are making "payments". What can you do if they don't send you money back? Make a forum post that most people won't ever see. I wouldn't trust any of these sites.

I mean, if anyone actually wants to sell BTC for $460 I will buy everything you have....

Hopefully anyone using Teamviewer has changed their password, and isn't using the same password for multiple sites. With everything going on with Teamviewer in the last couple weeks, it would certainly not be a fun time to lose a bunch of bitcoins if your account got compromised.

I think it depends on what you are trying to do. If all you need is an increase in traffic, it might be worth it. But most people are not even paying attention on what they are clicking on. I did a few fountains/ pay to click sites just to see what it was all about, and half the time I was watching TV or something and not hardly looking at the screen. But if you have a very big/ unique website or just need the increase in traffic and can get ads very cheap it might be worth it.

I need a new graphics card and was just about to buy one when they announced the RX480. Would be interested to see how this mines etherium or other altcoins. $200 seems like a good deal for this card.

Good gamblers make decisions that give them just a slight advantage. You will always have luck swings up and down, no one can control that. But a good player will win a little bit more and lose a little bit less than a bad player.
I would say that knowing when to stop, staying off tilt (discipline) would be the difference between a winning and a losing player.

Usually rich and famous stars can just pay a doctor to write prescriptions for them. Michael Jackson was paying hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to doctors for unlimited pills. I wouldn't be surprised if Prince was doing something similar.

World of Warcraft- Burning Crusade thru Wrath of the Lich King. IDK if any other MMO can be as good and I would never have enough time to play it now that I'm older, anyways. Getting "Deaths Demise" for server first Yogg Zero Light was such a rush. Losing "Grand Crusader" to another guild by one day was heartbreaking. Being in a competitive raiding guild was so fun.

You guys are aware this topic is about KnC and their bankruptcy right, and not some technical chit chat about their pin connectors and cables and stuff True, but if a car company had a bunch of recalls leading up to declaring bankruptcy, it would certainly be brought up in the discussion.

(Is such a small amount enough for me to earn some trust? Im hoping I can do some small transactions to build up some trust/ relationships with people on this forum.)
So you want to trade just soyou can earn trust? I don't think that is how the trust system works here. If I dont start out doing smaller trades and find someone I can trust and do some trades/ escrow with etc.. how will I ever earn trust and make connections to do bigger transactions?

The are two problems with signature campaigns-
1. They have a minimum post count This causes people to fell like they need to make posts even if they dont have anything constructive to say, just to meet the minimum.
2. They pay you per post. This causes people to start worthless topics, post worthless replies, spam multiple times in a single topic, anything to increase their post count and earn a couple extra cents.
Honestly, I would be fine with banning any signature campaign that pays people per post. A really good company would care who has their signature and what they do for the community, not how many posts they make each week.

I do not have any free antivirus but going to check my computer certificates now.
For those who want to do the same.
You can use Certificate Manager to see details about your certificates, modify them, delete them, or request new ones.
Open Certificate Manager by clicking the Start button , typing certmgr.msc into the Search box, and then pressing ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
This is a good thing to do. Learning about certificates and "the web of trust" is very important. Most people don't even think about who gets to decide if a site is "trusted" or not. This is a very interesting article and something I think everyone on the internet should read: http://blog.cryptographyengineering.com/2012/02/how-to-fix-internet.htmlConvergence (which is mentioned in the article) is a very interesting idea. http://www.convergence.io/I actually saw Moxy Marlinspike give a talk about Convergence, and its definitely the type of thing we need to be thinking about if we want a secure internet.
