1561  Economy / Economics / Re: Trump wants to impose a 'reciprocal tax' on trade partners on: February 13, 2018, 06:28:21 PM
The problem with such measures is there is no guaranteee other countries are not going to retaliate on their own, after all what it is going to stop countries like China to raise their taxes on US Imports? The measures taken by Trump will begin a chain reaction that does not help free trade, it will make products more expensive and at the end no ground will be won, this is why no one makes proposals like that, if the raise was small other countries may let it go but if it is that big they cannot afford it, also trading deficits are something normal for powerful countries, the same happened to the British empire back in the day when it was the most powerful country of the world.
1562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] Litecoin future in 2018 on: February 13, 2018, 05:27:03 PM
Litecoin is going to be big this year. many big things coming up one of them is already up the litepay announced a few days ago. LitePay is great for merchants who want to accept Litecoin. Amazon is adopting litecoin(most probably). Crypto's are only going more and more mainstream this year.
People need to stop with the Amazon nonsense until Amazon CEO gives the news that he is going to begin to accept cryptocurrencies, these kind of rumors abound in bitcoin as well since I am part of this forum and nothing has happened and to me this seems like just an attempt to try to hype a coin and litecoin does not need this fake hype since it is a very good coin, litecoin will do well in this year which is why it is always smart to have a portion of your portfolio in it.
1563  Economy / Speculation / Re: My fear with cryptocurrencies on: February 12, 2018, 10:12:57 PM
That's a truly sad fact, as bitcoin is 9 years old and all we can think of is being in beta stage. I think it's a fundamental glitch. I know the dev team will not admit it but BTC is damn too slow for current adoption rates and efficiency. The good news is, as more people are trying to understand why bitcoin protocol exists in the first place, they are in their own ways paving the ways for blockchain adoption.
I know it is sad but it is the truth we are in a way the beta testers of bitcoin, we are the ones using it when it is still to be fully developed and dealing with the issues, but as the protocol is improved we are going to see more people adopting it, this is similar to the Internet, at first very few used it but as it began to be faster and more reliable more content appeared and more people used the Internet, this created a snowball effect and now many people cannot deal with not being connected for five minutes we will get to that point but it is not going to be soon.
1564  Economy / Economics / Re: European Banks Could Soon Hold Bitcoin, Admits ECB President on: February 12, 2018, 10:04:13 PM
In spite of them holding positions in bitcoin futures, isn’t that going to help in the value of bitcoins rising, can anyone clarify that for me.
I don't think so, they are not dealing with bitcoin at all this means those future markets are nothing but bets on the direction the market will move, in my opinion this is nothing but an attempt to make the price of bitcoin lower and to try to tame the market of cryptocurrencies so it does not bring as much attention as it has been in the last year  since people are beginning to notice the great profits you can get by investing in it and it is also an attempt to try to make money out of it.
1565  Economy / Economics / Re: Armed robbers have raided the house of a British virtual currency trader on: February 12, 2018, 09:56:42 PM
Well I actually think this is a big issue that needs to be solved, so that people can feel secure while they hold bitcoin at their homes. As we all know bitcoin is not really anonymous, so if robbers manage to link btc address to people, the they can see how much money they have, and they can plan an assault. They can then physically threat the BTC owners and force them to make a transaction to them. If they are fast enough, they can easily cash out the coins, or can try to send them to multiple addresses in order to make it difficult to track them as they move the coin around.

Although I prefer cryto to banks from many reasons, this is still one big argument that favours banks or centralization over bitcoin. It's harder to make these kind of assaults with fiat, because they are held at the banks, and you can't just transfer big amounts like that.
This is northing really new, this is the same as if you were carrying with you jewelry and a bunch of cash, bad people will notice it and will target you and your family, the difference is that your bitcoin balance is there for everyone to see, so if you want to avoid something like this to happen to you need to make an effort to not link your real identity to a bitcoin address holding a huge amount of bitcoin that way you cannot be specifically targeted for these kind of criminals.
1566  Economy / Speculation / Re: Vizualizing All Horific Bitcoin crahes on: February 12, 2018, 06:04:34 PM
The problem with people is that they don't look at the history of the coin. Instead, they'll just start panicking and complaining, we can't blame them though because the value is big enough than before.
Because they do not care, those that panicked had no intention to be invested in bitcoin for the long term, even one year seems like too much for them, they just wanted to invest their money and hoped that bitcoin magically gave them earnings and of course when people begin to invest with that kind of mentality the opposite happens, the chart is great since it showed me some crashes I did not knew anything about so this gives me even more confidence in the ability of bitcoin to recover.
1567  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Signals on: February 12, 2018, 05:21:50 PM
Do trading signals work? If so, which is the best?
Trading signals are for the lazy, for those that want to obtain the profits of trading but do not wan to go through the trouble to learn how to do it for themselves, I will save you time and money trading signals do not work but even if it worked you will need to know about trading in order to perform the instructions given in the signals and also you will need to know about trading in order to be able to know when the signal is mistaken and avoid making that mistake.
1568  Economy / Economics / Re: why should bitcoin! on: February 11, 2018, 09:45:33 PM
Since I'm still confused I need money for my daily life, I do not have a job that suits the needs of spending money spending money.

I need a lot of money each month about 1000 USD. And from where I have to earn money for my needs every month.

I have been looking for another job, but not enough for my life.

The world is growing and I still do not have a decent job for me until the old age.

It's a hard life for me so I have to find where I can get money for my needs every month.

So I heard that there is a way in which I will be able to earn a profit for my needs by investing cripto money and I think this is not too late, that's why I chose to invest with BTC.

               For my happy future.
I hope you are successful, but you are not starting from the best position, you are investing out of necessity and it is likely you are investing you cannot really afford to lose, this will make you vulnerable to a number of mistakes, especially panic selling, if the price goes down as it has done in the past weeks you will be more vulnerable to panic and sell at a bad price and losing money as a result, this is why a trader needs to have his emotions under control or he runs the risk of making mistakes like that.
1569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS : Bank of America and JP Morgan Are banning CC purchases on: February 11, 2018, 09:38:04 PM
so, in fact they stop people from making low purchases, controlling how people spend their own money.
It seems to me that this is not illegal, is it?
Remember when you put your money in a bank it is no longer your money, the money belongs to the banks and they can do with it whatever they want, only when you are able to successfully withdraw the money from the bank that money belongs to you again, this is why you must not feed the system, having your money in the bank makes them more powerful, if it is a low amount keep it in your home and if it is a big amount you will need to find to store it in some other way which does not involve banks.
1570  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coincheck confirms hack on: February 11, 2018, 07:17:19 PM
That's why never store your coins on any exchanges because you lose control of your private keys.

Only use paper wallet or hardware wallet for cold (offline) storage.

Coincheck said they used hot wallets to store crypto that is the absolute worst way to store any crypto.
They are run by total idiots.

Yeah using hot wallets was a huge mistake, many casinos use both a hot wallet with a low percentage of the funds and another wallet in cold storage with most funds that way even if they are hacked only a small portion of the funds will be lost, I cannot wait for exchanges to fall and being replaced either by decentralized exchanges or by atomic swaps which will come with the LN, I suppose this was the reason the miners and some exchanges fought so hard against segwit but fortunately they lost that battle and will lose the battle against the LN as well.
1571  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its too late to invest in Bitcoin! on: February 11, 2018, 06:07:06 PM
Hodl to that BTC. If you invested in Bitcoin when the price is at $16,000 well you might have been crying this past few days. I mean BTC diving in price. It's the best time to invest in BTC on times like this. So Hodl to your Bitcoin and Buy some more. Look at the chart's when you posted this it might have been the best time to invest in Bitcoin. Its not too late to invest. If you are not financially stable make sure to invest what you can and not what is above your means. Be practical. Reading more threads and studying Bitcoins, altcoins and doing bounties in the future might be helpful as well. Good luck to us.
A possibility is to buy even more bitcoin, if you bought one bitcoin at 20000 and then you buy a bitcoin at 10000 the average price per bitcoin drops to 15000 so the more bitcoin you buy at these cheap prices the more the average price will drop and the faster you will recover your losses when the price goes up once again, if you have the money that is a good strategy to follow but only if you completely believe in bitcoin and in holding for the long term.
1572  Economy / Economics / Re: Weak Hands lose money, strong hands makes profits in this game! on: February 10, 2018, 10:55:12 PM
Selling at a loss is such a weak decision, yes I understand that we need to cut losses sometimes but if its too much loss better to hold on it specially if that coin is bitcoin.  Newbies easy trade with their emotion and losses comes, you’d better know how to trade well on this kind of market. Strong hands will always be a winner because they believe on a great technology, they just keep on buying until it reach their target price.
Cutting your losses only makes sense if you realize you made a mistake at the moment you invested, for example there is no point in cutting your losses if you invested in bitcoin since it is the best cryptocurrency around, if you cut your losses in bitcoin you might as well never enter this market again and invest in other markets, but if you invested in an ico and you realize you made a mistake by investing in it then it makes sense to cut your losses so you at least recover some of your money.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH IS FLIPPENING WITH BTC on: February 10, 2018, 10:26:56 PM
ETH would only need to be about $1800 and have btc stay the same for that to happen.
Definitely possible.
All of that sounds good but have you stopped to think what kind of scenario is needed for that, in what scenario bitcoin will not move at all while ETH keeps growing, we had a similar scenario in the last year but this was because segwit was being blocked by the miners now that is out of the way an scenario like the one you are predicting does not seem that likely to me after all once we get the LN in bitcoin the market is going to pump really hard and will put an even bigger distance between bitcoin and ethereum.
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to make money on the Internet on: February 10, 2018, 09:46:05 PM
If someone want to make money over internet then he should have some sort of service to offer then people will hire you and pay for your work or service.Nothing in this world is going for free to earn, need some sort of effort.More your skills then your earnings will be more.Everyone is going to say join the signature campaign and earn some bitcoins so I am also suggesting the same but your need to be a good quality poster and new merit system is going to be tough for the new comers. So you can join on altcoin bounties that also give good earnings.
You can still earn money over the Internet even if you do not have a service to offer, you can earn by affiliate marketing, the idea is simple you promote the product of another person and you get a commission for every sale you make, this can be very attractive since the money you can make is big, but it is a very competitive business so you need to try to stay on top of the new techniques and tricks to become a successful affiliate marketer.
1575  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we need regulations? on: February 10, 2018, 08:26:20 PM
How do you guys think? Do we need regulations in the crypto world? Should only ICO be regulated or legit coins (not "security tokens") too? Can we implement regulations mechanisms in code so that corrupted governmental institutions couldn't manipulate the industry? Can we still have free market with governments' regulations across the world?

Please, share your thoughts. I'm a bit confused about what's happening right now.
In theory I'm against any kind of regulation but at the same time things have gotten so out of control that some regulation is not a bad idea especially when the current state of things is discouraging true investors and regular people from investing in bitcoin and altcoins, but like always we run the risk of governments to try to impose too much regulation, but at least the nature of cryptocurrencies will allow us to resist in the case the regulations are too strict.
1576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Apple App store allowing only a few cryptos? What's acceptance criteria? on: February 10, 2018, 06:31:17 PM
Agreed and that makes sense. Apple don't need to allow every cryptos.

But what I am really curious is how some minor cryptos are chosen by Apple's strict rule.
For example, Voxel and Wave are good alts but why not other good alts are still not allowed by Apple?
Hmm, I have to survey for this more..
The only coin I have never heard about is Voxels it is a coins that has a very low market cap compared to the others, maybe they have some interest in that coin or the devs of Voxels are influential enough to pull this move and make their coin very visible, the rest of the coins are fine and are known coins and the majority of the community should be holding at least one of those coins as an investment, what coins would you like to see being accepted and that are not there?

1578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin White on: February 08, 2018, 11:27:28 PM
Thoughts about Bitcoin White? Dev are on anon mode Smiley, but telegram group, fb, twitter are all active
Have 4000 of Bitcoin White , got this in participating Signature Camp..

If the coin has "Bitcoin" as a first name that's a total scam and burn it with fire. They're just using the recognisable word for promotion, that's mean they can't get the public other ways.
It does not get any clearer than that, if the coin has bitcoin in its name and it is not the original bitcoin then do not invest in the coin, yes you could make some money with it but at the end it is a coin that is nothing but a scam if the project was a legit one they will look for a way to create their own image and name and not steal the name of bitcoin for their purposes.
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum prediction in 2018 on: February 08, 2018, 11:21:38 PM
Now we can see a lot of ETH competitors, rather they will split the value between them ETH price = Waves = others
Not unless the competitors are able to take part of the business of ETH, many thought that after the forks the price of bitcoin will be divided among all the coins and that was not the case, the coins just began to move independently of each other, so I do not see a reason why the value of ETH will go down as all the projects that already came in ETH are not going to move to another smart contract platform.
1580  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do you want high price of bitcoin after all? on: February 08, 2018, 11:17:09 PM
The people who want such high price are people who had Bitcoin for a very long time. Like the times when they cost 15 cents, and accumulated a whole ton of them. As well as people who bought high. People like myself who want to accumulate more do not like such a high price. And then there are the more passive types who just into this because they saw on the news and think that a profit of $200 is amazing, like hitting a scratch ticket, and their knowledge is extremely superficial.
Those that have held for a long time do not have any need for the price to go higher, yes they like to have greater profits, but it does not make such a big difference to them, the ones hoping for a better price are the ones that bought when the price was several thousands of dollars, for those people the price is really important since that determines how big are their profits, besides people think of selfishness as a bad thing but what it is wrong with hoping with an higher price, that will benefit everyone that is holding bitcoin and not only the person wishing for an higher price.
