So you don't mean you lock in your price in seconds, but you actually get the BTC in seconds and Coinbase is willing to wait it out for your bank funds? I will email them.

I like Coinbase but it takes so long to get your BTC. I thought CampBX+Dwolla would be faster but now I find that I can't pull money from my bank account directly into CampBX via Dwolla. I have to first deposit money from my bank account to Dwolla and then later pull those funds to CampBX from Dwolla. I don't think CampBX+Dwolla is any faster than Coinbase and with Coinbase you lock in your price right away. What is the advantage of CampBX over Coinbase?

No idea, i am Europe based. Me too at the moment. Are all Bitstamp deposits/withdrawals made via wire transfer? They have an extremely low volume, which obviously makes manipulations easier. Can you tell me a little more about this? Are you saying if I want to buy BTC on campbx, there may be a long delay?
Gox is by far the biggest. Followed by Bitstamp that has roughly 1/4 of the volume. How is it making deposits and withdrawals to/from Bitstamp from a US account? Btce is not bad for trading but is a bitch when it comes to deposits and withdrawals. That only applies to fiat, correct? And CapBX, well not really anything to tell about them. Deposits and withdrawals to/from a US account look really easy there. They do a low volume? Does that mean slow buy/sell transactions?

Well that doesn't sound so bad. So my price is locked in as soon as I make the purchase even if it skyrockets over the 5-day transfer period? Can anyone else confirm this?

It sounds like the best way (besides coinbase.com) for a US citizen to get into BTC is campbx funded via Dwolla. Then if I want to buy LTC I can transfer BTC from campbx to BTC-e and make the trade. Good plan? Any gotchas to watch out for?
Do campbx or Dwolla do any verification besides linking my bank account to Dwolla? I see that there's a 31-day holding period for 1st-time depositors in Dwolla which is fine.

I made my first BTC purchase at coinbase.com and the 5-day delay after your funds are withdrawn but before the BTC purchase is made and the price is set leaves something to be desired. I'd like to start using a real exchange instead. I've created a BTC-e account but I don't see instructions anywhere about how to deposit funds into the account. How is that done?
Should I expect it to go like this?
1. deposit funds to my BTC-e account via wire transfer or another method 2. the funds appear in my BTC-e account within 1-2 days 3. trade the funds for BTC 4. withdraw the BTC to the wallet on my computer
How long do #3 and #4 take?
At which points does BTC-e charge a fee?
Does BTC-e require you to go through a verification process? If so, what do they verify?

Weird, several people in another thread told me I would be able to back out in that situation and that Coinbase would give themselves the option to back out if the price went up.
Real nice, thank you. Are those considered to be the big 4 exchanges? mtgox, bitstamp, btce, campbx?
I made a small purchase on coinbase.com to test the waters. The price went down during the 5-day transfer period and I was not given the option to back out of the purchase. Is that normal?
Are there exchanges which have a consistently low price on BTC? bitstamp.com has the lowest I've seen with $90.26 at the moment.

If electrum doesn't download the blockchain, what data is it constantly transferring?
I've switched to electrum which also doesn't need the full blockchain but I've noticed it still transfers data regularly. Does anyone know if there's a way to get a handle on the amount of data transferred? Stop it, limit it, or at least monitor it so I can see how much is being transferred overall?
sadly, 99 percent of people still don't understand how the internet works Is this supposed to be me? It's BTC I don't understand. Once the client has established the wallet's balance, what data does it upload/download?
So bitcoin-qt takes part in the BTC network in some way when it's online? I thought it was just a wallet. Does electrum do this too? Are there any BTC apps that are just a wallet?

Does anyone have an idea when Mt.Gox will resume USD withdrawals?
Are there withdrawal fees for withdrawing in BTC/LTC?
I won't need to go through a verification process to send BTC to BTC-e, trade it for LTC, and send the LTC to my offline wallet, will I?
Does anyone think BTC will dip in the near-term or is it a good time to buy as an investment?
