1581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 20, 2015, 08:26:20 AM
I think CK will continue its exponential growth, from start at 1 character, too 100 after 1 year (now), to 10,000 in another year.

This means that assuming 100 XMR per player investment, in 6 months we get 100k XMR deposited (no large effect on price) and in 12 months we get 1M. That would be significant.

To be fair to rpietila, I've never seen him engage in anything other than relevant, civilised and useful discourse so I wouldn't lump him in with the 'usual suspects' that visit this thread.
Yes but WTF are they doing here?

I have revived my interest in DASH after realizing that my own project, Crypto Kingdom, has some similar challenges with the consensus and database that have been already handled here.

That is great to hear, I have being following the development of Crypto Kingdom and while I am not a gamer myself I like the fact that it starts with a use case and then builds the technology back from there, better than developing technology and figuring out the use case later in my opinion.

I know nothing about the online video game industry though so would not know how to grow the user base.

Yeah. I previously regarded Evan's and jl777's work as not solid enough for a new paradigm financial system. It seemed that they were rather a web of twists and turns. Not serious enough to be taken seriously. Now I find myself developing a game, which, of course is not intended to be taken seriously because it is a game! And I am copying many things, especially from jl777, but from other sources as well including financial history of previous centuries. Our game database is also not anonymous, actually the opposite - we are currently in so early stage that the ownerships ingame are transparent. It is possible to learn from many sources.

Do you have stock market, spread betting, options, etc. in the Crypto Kingdom virtual economy?

We have a matching engine (exchange) for ingame stuff. About 2000 items are listed, and perhaps 100-200 are having some trades in them. It is possible to have "depository shares" (covered or naked) which mimic the performance of outside world items (we have those for XMR and BTC at present).

Spread betting is easy to implement via API as a 3rd party service as are options and binary options.

Because the game is completely imaginary, you also get healthy by drinking a lot of alcohol and wise by smoking.

How the food corporations and pharmaceuticals captured the free market, control government departments and poison the population have nothing to do with free market capitalism. In fact they are not different at all from the bolshevik totalitarian revolutionists and Marxist criminals.

It is even the same tribe, and it is part of the same plan.  Shocked

Funnily enough, Crypto Kingdom has tongue-in-cheek Royal monopolies and all kinds of seemingly unfree stuff, yet imho all-considered it is a freer economy than either the corporatism or communism that the outside world has to offer..

DIVIDEND recipient_item_id dividend_item_id quantity

The command is used to give amount units of dividend_item_id per each instance of recipient_item_id the recipient owns. (Recipient is only specified indirectly by recipient_item_id.)

if no recipient_item_id is given, print "Command DIVIDEND syntax is 'DIVIDEND recipient_item_id dividend_item_id amount'." and abort
if recipient_item_id is not a valid item_id, print "recipient_item_id is not a valid item to give the dividend to." and abort
if dividend_item_id is not a valid item_id, print "dividend_item_id is not a valid item to give as dividend." and abort
if quantity is not a positive integer, print "Quantity must be a positive integer." and abort
total1 = recipient_item_id:exists * quantity
if active_character does not have total1 units of dividend_item_id, print "Insufficient number of dividend_item_id to pay the proposed dividend." and abort
loop through all characters who have ItemsOwnership in recipient_item_id
  amount1 = quantity * recipient_item_id_owned_by_char_id
  GIVE dividend_item_id amount1 char_id
  update changelogs
print: "total1 units of dividend_item_id given to owners of recipient_item_id."

Crichton would like to buy Lot E-l2 in Borough 2 at 240mil.

That should be possible to do in Ultima!  Smiley

"BUY 2-E-I2 1 240mil"

The lot is listed for sale by the owner, Town. While buying, document that it is listing correctly, and buying happens as it should.
1588  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: October 19, 2015, 05:37:50 PM
Gold purchasing power and numismatic premium are orthogonal and often correlate negatively.

If you believe gold is a good investment, you should not buy numismatic premium.

If you believe gold price is high, buy numismatics and hedge the bullion value, pocket the premium when the price goes down.

Eg. 90% per-1964 silver coins can be had at 0-3% when silver price is high. Buy them, and sell them at 12% when it is low (such as now).

My only point was to emphasize that I prefer decentralized protocols where there isn't any controlling entity at all, if at all possible.

We both started making world a better place before decentralized ledger was even invented! CK is not religiously attached to a new and largely unproven system, yet some of its core components are (eg. Monero is a cryptocurrency).

Year Change 1610 - Update

This is the "incomplete year change" due to being the first one in Ultima platform, and we must not only learn how to do it, but also many of the methods currently available are so clumsy that they will be created, and if this does not happen in time, the item is either cancelled and does not happen, or postponed, so that its effect is double-calculated later. (This already has double-calculated effects since this is a "double-year".)

Blue text indicates the parts done. Red indicates not yet done.

CON

1,000 more consols are issued, and also existing Town debt will be CONsolidated and converted prior to payment. Total CON will be 2,240 after these entries, adding to the already nice liquidity there is (in monetary terms, CON bids near market are larger than any other bids incl CKG).

All these CON will receive the double-year dividend of 200,000 m.

The existing debt is converted as follows: the difference between emission yield of CON and TB1655 is calculated and the difference added to the current CON yield. TB1650 and TB1655 are both discounted to maturity using this yield. The result is divided by CON midprice. The integer part is given as CON items, and the remainder is given as money. Results:
TB1650 -> 6*CON + 5,675,913 m
TB1655 -> 6*CON + 2,637,175 m.

Food freebies

100*VEG to commoners and 100*MEAT to nobles is given, with FOIE gras going to the holders of S-FOI (1 given per character as a test, and market has bid/ask).

Drinks market

Due to extensive campaign in the countryside villages in the vicinity pro distilling your own vodka (to combat the next plague that will surely come), not only we have unlimited stocks of MEAD (@1,000), but the same applies to VOD (@140,000) as well.

Generation of new wine and silver from IC

This will happen as planned, with new items credited and IC deducted from your balance automatically.

Generation of stone

1609-10 will have 2 teams by NewReconstructionCorp, and both close operations subsequently. Stone not recorded.

Carriages

Phaeton has laid off 50% of workforce, which has cut the production capacity in half (facility is still fully needed for the purpose though). New carriages can be self-converted by their CEO after a short introduction from me concerning how it is done.

Suits

As far as I know, NF is not employing any tailors now, instead waiting that the business becomes better. Lucky them for having this opportunity.

Royal Mint

We take the liberty to mint both CR1609A and CR1610A coins. Unlike the previous announcement that we mint 20*CR16xxE even if nobody wants them, we do not mint such coins in 1609 and 1610.

Despite rather low demand of silver coins, we utilize the capacity to mint 20*CSxxxxE silver coins for each year -08, -09, -10, and list them for sale cheaply. Perhaps some day somebody will want to collect'em all (in which case securing a CS1607E is key, because only 9 exist). King's longer term plan is that we could move from foreign TS-silver coins (weighing 12 g) to Royal Mint CS-coins (of 5 g) but so far no progress has been achieved.

If you are an API coder and can make a web UI for ordering mint products, which would have admin UI for editing the proposal and one click creates the items for the orderer and funds come to the Mint, contact me. A token (100 mil + free copies of items?) reward.

CKG and building pool dividends

These will not be dealt. The money accrues to the earmarked accounts so this does not constitute any harm except delayed cashflow.

Salary

We distributed free money to L3-L7 characters in double (1.4-5.6 mil).

Land tax, extra tax

We still need to figure out the way to calculate them.

Lots listing for sale

The ask prices from googlesheet have been converted to Ultima SELL commands (in google tab /sellLot) but everyone must execute their own, admin cannot place orders for others.
1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zero Knowledge Transactions on: October 19, 2015, 02:25:19 PM
But Risto I am not sure if you have totally made the transition to decentralized. You still write of audited depositories in your CK.

CK is young and needs to "borrow legitimacy" from a project 6 months older: Monero.

In practice, we designed it such that XMR is the link to the a-bit-less-virtual-world. Audited depositories are needed to ensure that all CK money exists in the blockchain and can be withdrawn if required. It is a kind-of two-way peg.

Only about 5-10% by value of assets owned by characters are money, but I still feel it is important to have the money link there.

If we wanted to pay out all XMR and issue ingame fiat instead (like every other game is doing), I believe we would do as well as every other game. But the intention is to do better.
1592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zero Knowledge Transactions on: October 19, 2015, 01:09:22 PM
We can consider (Town-emitted) CK assets to be "community burn" then.

For instance there is now a decree that Town will (effectively create) and sell VOD item for 0.14 XMR in unlimited quantity. The item is expected to be around for a long time. Anyone can "burn" their XMR to convert it to VOD at a fixed rate but not back. If VOD is perceived to have better characteristics than XMR, it will be desirable. (It can be consumed to gain health, on the other hand it is not as liquid.) Gains from selling VOD will be divided to the game shareholders.

Please define terms "Town", "VOD", and "burning XMR". I am thinking burning XMR can only happen on the XMR block chain. Does XMR have this feature?

I am trying to feed it piece by piece. Town is a CK Corporate Character with the rule-making authority. VOD is an ingame item. XMR is not a CK concept (I used it incorrectly on purpose), but ingame money can be had if an XMR deposit to an audited depository is made. "burning" "XMR" in my text really means spending ingame money, except in IC where it means burning ingame items. XMR cannot be officially burned, but can be sent to a "burn address".

If a cat walks on your Monopoly board and messes it up, if you have enough interest on the game, you can recreate the situation and continue when the cat is back where she belongs.

There is actually no difference whether it burns your house down. The ability to recreate the situation exists nevertheless, and it is even more important for you since your house is burnt down and the game is all you have.

Quote from: Jesus (Matt 6:)
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Enough of this. I still have the year_change routine uncompleted  Grin

(I just closed a silver depository storing tons of silver. I did not see it had the quality of not being able to be shut down; thus it was a non-solution, and not worth my effort. My silver businesses are from the era when crypto did not exist, and silver was the most promising thing.)

I don't think precious metals are a solution in the modern world in the first place.

We at least I tried: the depository was able to work as a redeemable 100% guaranteed storage of silver and it "issued" (it did not circulate anywhere except in the centralized system though, because at the time we were ready for it, Bitcoin started its ascent already and the plan for silver felt outdated) units worth about $0.10 pegged to the silver warehoused. Nothing would prevent from doing every same thing with them as with Bitcoin (we contacted banks re: credit cards etc. fancy things, had a "hawala" payment where you can get your silver credits to your bank account in 30 minutes, ...), except the "hard withdrawal" would be more cumbersome due to the smallest coin being worth ~$1.00 and physical collection of the silver was required.

At max, the value of silver deposited by our customers was about $4 million so small business here. But it all contributes to the experience  Wink

There are several of these still working (mainly on gold) though they tend to run into mysterious problems...  Cheesy

The current discussion has made me regard the Europeans much higher than before  Wink

... you must be wantonly ignoring the doomed communist "Euro" project they allowed, no welcomed, into their houses.

Only a century after you, my friends, allowed the FED to rob yourselves blind Wink

... assuming I'm american.

I don't think an argument between the two of us is useful. We both know the history of Euro and the treason used to shove it down the throats of the people in countries that were not in favor (although some were). I don't have much formal education but my Major in Economics actually included a full course in the history of Eurosystem  Grin

Another example is item IC, which is actually burned and disappears from the game when it is converted to TS160 silver coins, for instance.

In this "closed burn" system, items constantly change their form, and their value is determined in the marketplace. We are currently not relying on blockchain to be the arbiter of the game state, because a blockchain this small can easily be attacked. Our "public community consensus" validation has worked very well so far, and in the future the data storage will be even more difficult to interfere with from the outside. It will have multiple layers with the critical items (such as voting rights of the game rules and items of major value) secured better than lesser-valued items (such as food and drinks that each character continuously produces, buys, sells and consumes).

Coinshop Announcement

CON has been a major success and midprice is now 11.9 mil (+35% from initial emission only 5 years ago).

All 2,240 CON have been created to their owners, and the Coinshop has CONsolidated the marketmaking bids/asks to be 5 units per price point. This unclutters the market situation and allows others to place orders that are actually seen in the default view of about 6 orders visible (it can be scrolled though). Despite increasing the depth at market, the spread has been kept at 3%.

We hope that the changes are well reserved!

A similar change in HM02B100 is not coming for now. One bar is worth 75 mil, which is a reasonable size per ladder price point (5*CON is about 60 mil now).

Gold and silver coins (CR1609A, CR1610A, CS1608E, CS1609E, CS1610E) are listed for sale. The bulk of the mintage is sold cheaply while supplies last, and a few coins afterwards are listed in a higher price. The gold coins have a mintage of 50 and are one of the first items in CRxxxxA series, which will later be the way how new gold comes into existence as PoP. Silvers have a mintage of 20 and are intended as collectibles, part of the CS domestic silver coin series that started in 1604.

If there is a crackdown on privacy coins, I wonder if the market will become like the bath salts market where each new regulation leads to more and more offshoots. In this scenario, a Monero crackdown (voluntary or otherwise) would push people who want privacy to coins like AEON and BBR, and when those coins are targeted (or too centralized), it pushes people to new coins, and when those coins are targeted....

I just heard that S-WW is targeted, after all it is a vague promise to perhaps get virtual White Wine from Germania some time.

Also you cannot any more mortgage properties when playing Monopoly without getting prior permission from an out-of-game notary!  Shocked

Since the value (eg. that of CK) does not exist in their world, they cannot do effective crackdown: it will take nothing from us (that we could not create back simply by restoring from backup), and they will not gain anything. This is the game banksters played when they enslaved the outside world, but it is now available for the individual and collective action of the people to play however they wish as well.

International finance is based on imagination. So are we.
1599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zero Knowledge Transactions on: October 19, 2015, 11:55:10 AM
In my understanding, the solutions need to have the following characteristics:

- not be against "God's law" = the "natural law" we all have in our conscience
- cannot be shut down by the perpetrators of other laws.

If it can be shut down by anyone, it is not a solution. Isn't that the reason we are here in crypto, because this is the most promising field now where unstoppable things are able to be developed?

(I just closed a silver depository storing tons of silver. I did not see it had the quality of not being able to be shut down; thus it was a non-solution, and not worth my effort. My silver businesses are from the era when crypto did not exist, and silver was the most promising thing.)
1600  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: October 19, 2015, 10:49:23 AM
Would love to have some more reliable and clear data points to show me so.

Apology accepted.

I needed to check because it seemed that you criticized CK for its "European=undesirable model".

In the game,

- the King (me) is European.

- all of the 3 Dukes (the next highest level) are American.

- all of the 4 Princes are from a different continent: Europe, America, Asia and Africa.

So in each continent, it is possible to find people who are attracted by social order as presented in CK. And that Americans like it the most Smiley
