161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How important is a community behind a crypto project? on: April 30, 2018, 12:44:48 PM
Hello all,

I came across this article that talks about the importance of a community backing a project, how important do you think it is? Do you think they can get by through large marketing budgets instead? and do you agree with the article?

https://medium.com/crowdholding-innovation-platform/why-do-you-need-to-build-a-loyal-community-for-crypto-projects-14b9207608c2

We as a community supports bitcoin and other cryptos that is why we are part of the platform wherein the idea of crypto will be shared to the entire countries which is open minded for realization that crypto idea is a good way to help a certain country. Crypto project making should be well prepared into making the community to connect people peer to peer to be as solid.

I would like to see a content where OP could explain blockchain technology in a very simple way that other viewers who doesn't know already what blockchain is can understand.  And I prefer if it could be trice a week. And I also agree with @hugeblack says that ICOS AND FORKS  should not be covered, why? Because ity is not helpful to promote what is the real blockchain if there are shit ICOS to get recommendation so better out of it. Forks are not easy to understand thou so better start with basic, simple understanding of blockchain is a good foundation of information to hearers.
163  Other / Meta / Re: For forum nostalgics - how data show forum evolution on: April 28, 2018, 07:36:14 PM
I really agree what @pugman says about statistics and analytical post which can be used as a tool to earn merit which "deserves' it respectively.

Meta before wasn't alive, even myself agree to it but when the new implementation appear,  then threads with statistic and analytic information pops out that really helps a lot to beginners to  what is happening and can also be what is missing and what others should know.
good thread, indeed, informative. Detailed. (Y)

But I have a question.

Did admin theymos decided personally to implement merit? I mean is he the only one who want it to be added or we have a jury?

164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best ICO for March/ April / May 2018? on: April 28, 2018, 03:19:31 PM
I am always checking project which is going to produce a some sort of utility token, before I was expecting that VLB was going to be lit but unfortunately it was postponed second time. And now I am hearing and seeing all over in the discussion outside about this WELL project, you pay bills in the hospital be the use of "well" token so it is some sort of working product not just only for investment, but going to check it further.
165  Other / Meta / Re: How to gain merits? on: April 28, 2018, 01:46:39 PM
Bitcointalk now create merit system.
But How to gain merits?
Is there any good way for gain merits? I wanted to know.
Advance Thank you very much for you kind information.

gaining merits is not enough equivalent to the information you will acquire if you will read important threads in the entire forum. contribute realistic and useful information so that you will not just notice that somebody is tossing you merit as a reward to your help. if you keep asking for it, then don't be shocked you'll get red flag for sure.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still use MEW? on: April 28, 2018, 01:14:20 PM
With the recent hack, I assume a lot of people will switch to something else, what do you think?

I still recommend using a hardware wallet over the safety benefits though.

if you have checked your DNS address and the rest of your private information about your MEW wallet then your safe no need to doubt to use again myetherwallet. However, always get rid of phishing site.

I use a hardware wallet so I'm safe from the hacks Grin

even thou you use Hardware wallet like trezor and ledger and forget to get it from your pocket and washed your jeans then that's last.
your safe from hacks. but not always safe in real situation. haha
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Beyond The Bubble <eye opener for the future> on: April 28, 2018, 11:56:11 AM
if local government and international government would just be open minded to evaluate what could be the help of bitcoin to the world then it can be easily adopted.really an eye opener, but the video can also be shared to other social medias so it can be known to others, I hope that this video will be shared to other social medias within a specific group of networkers, like on facebook, twitter.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Patent from 2014 seeks to de-anonymize crypto transactions on: April 28, 2018, 07:05:23 AM
This is not a good idea if they are going to de-anonymize the crypto transactions then they prefer identities hovering.? I don't think so that it can be a good impact.  I think if they are afraid of some sort of tracing identities if things don't go well then maybe KYC  is better, by level 1-3 of verification (but it will take time for sure) rather than de-anonymity.

170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion about journalists talking about Bitcoin but are not Hodlers? on: April 27, 2018, 07:21:48 PM
Journalist speak words scripted, they study what they'll going to say and just memorize it but most of the time they don't really know it, I was able to watch the Ellen show, Ellen was trying to explain bitcoins blockchain technology, she was having a difficulty to understand what really is "crypto" but she seems to be praising it since individuals can earn money to it. However, that show was promoting crypto unlike any other journalist who just keep on talking without even knowingf it.

Philippine journalists are fond of it, saying bitcoin is a scam but in reality, bitcoin is just a tool to deceive unwise people not the bitcoin itself is scam.

If a journalist speak but not HODLING then its a waste of time to listen/believe.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin anniversary. 17 millionth mined. on: April 27, 2018, 12:33:12 PM
Happy anniversary 17th.
Still a long run for that 4 percent remaining. Will take many years to make an end to it. But for sure the nearer the supply is running out the fork of bitcoin will increase. Satoshi did a great Job, He will be a legend after 100 years.

173  Other / Meta / Re: Why are innocent people getting blocked and scammers tolerated? on: April 26, 2018, 10:17:21 PM
How possible that OP knows who is in the innocent side and scamming side? Another Jr.member who accused superiors for what? Maybe Op should be included to those people that are banned. (Just thinking about it). People these days want to promote idiotcracy, instead of helping the moderators to clean the forum, they're contradicting it like OP. Whoever gets banned should have known by themselves that they had done an unnecessary things which disobeyed the law and moderators are not kids just to ban an ban without evidence and proof of illegal doings. 😤
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Strategy: holding but trading on: April 26, 2018, 04:45:26 PM
Do you guys think that it is possible to be successful if I want to hold ( a year), but  look at the charts only once a week (even less), then  trade only if I see a huge loss? Let's say I set a loss of 10% now, will I have to trade a lot?

Thanks in advance

The best strategy to trading is, if you have a trust to a certain coin that in a few days or months that will increase its price again then you will probably HODL it. Like, for example you trade 0.01 btc to ltc and then the price of btc decrease in s negative percent to the current price then HODL it for a while wait for the comeback even just 2-3 positive rollback then sell LTC to btc again then it'll rock, simple advice to a beginner trader like me.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alts that are going to the moon on: April 26, 2018, 04:16:46 PM
Don't forget about bitcoin.

I choose monero and OMG, not being some kind of expert but as I see the chart the flow of the line this previous month seems a kind of straight but currently ity has some upward and is now rocking, the price fluctuates but roll up in an hour. However, ethereum also seems creating force this months to make a push forward to it's price, maybe by the end of the year 1k + would be but if more LEGIT and good ICO comes out then ETH would possibly reach 2k and up.
176  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A tool to avoid scammers on: April 26, 2018, 03:12:16 PM
Those persons who were listed on that site seems legit but not all, i really know that not all the crypto they introduce or they follow has a good potential since we cannot prove it just by believing but the most important is to check and review clearly, and not all those persons introduce crypto by free, some of them is shilling for sure but not all, That site introduces person who has great influence when it comes to crypto industry, and knows a lot. However, this can be a good guide to beginners but, always, investing must be upon our decision to take the risk. by the way, Thank you OP.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it normal to wait for 6 months for a bounty reward? on: April 26, 2018, 06:39:33 AM
Most of us join bounty campaigns because it is one of the means for us to get coins. I just want to verify how many of us have experienced waiting for a long period of time to get our coins. Don't get me wrong, i do trust the managers and what they say. And, most of them give valid  reasons why it'll take that long for them to distribute the rewards. In average, how long do you receive your coins after a bounty campaign?

This isn't normal for a bounty campaign, usually managers py weekly but if you do have the exchange vows that a participant will receive his reward for 6 months in a token then you better get out of it it's useless, you waste time, and probably you get fooled. A good campaign should have at least two or three months to make a  certain coin/token be listed in an exchange site for trading. And a good manager doesn't accept project form developers who does not pay. And most of all campaign who pays after six months should not run and be reported.
178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What amount did you start to trade? on: April 26, 2018, 05:53:00 AM
I need more related answers
and thank you for those who share information related to the topic.

I deleted some old school posts who just want to say I do like this and that without even getting a supplementation of explanation.

So, is portfolio/blockfolio a part of trading? Does it counts numbers of calculation to supervise the coin which I am going to trade?

Want to learn more with professionals. Thank you once again.
179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for Trading In Cryptocurrencies on: April 25, 2018, 03:42:09 PM
I have been looking and trying to understand more about trading and the article you have shared is good, However, it might be difficult for me to understand because I am new in trading which needs lesson on the process. And base on what I learn from trading is always check if the market is going to dump.

And base to some questions I ask is the bigger the profit you roll the more chances of earning and if unlucky lossing. But the bigger amount it is the more information you need to acquire not to lose all you got.
Decision is a must also. Develop skills of discerning also a big help.
180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Portfolio Management on: April 25, 2018, 02:53:16 PM
I want try to use blockfolio but I think there is a bug? I don't know if I'm not sure
About the markets price and the price in the blockfolio seems like it is a little bigger than the price in the market and I don't think if it's accurate since I'm not a user tho. But, many are enjoying to use it. When btc hits 9100k the price in the blockfolio prices at 9500k plus. Is this normal or what?
