161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer T3+ coming out in China tmrw - 5000 units on: January 16, 2018, 02:16:36 AM
Wow, they're really trying to milk the puppy, They do realize people are buying at ridiculous price based on ephemeral profitability. They are aware that it will probably have faded before they even have to ship the units. Ruthless.

Yes.
So maybe the T9+ model has something like 159 chips..

@btc-haze
Thanks for the information!
Btw, can you fix the thread title?
I guess you meant to wrote 'T9+' instead of the 'T3+'?

Yes that basically click baited me here. "The fuck is a T3". Tongue

It's 28 t1s! Wahwah.
Sorry. Internet backbone humor.

Damn I was off - I always thought a T3 was .004503 OC-192s

Thanks for that.

That's an OC3, they don't convert exactly but capacity is - almost - the same.
True T3 is 28 @1.544mbps
Mux up! Mux Down.

Etn hits the big time!
You're nobody until somebody thinks you're worth scamming.
Thanks for the heads up. I thought it was real and price would go boom.
163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 15, 2018, 05:16:27 PM
Does anybody else think the company's stated goal of decentralization is inconsistent with a 5 piece minimum order? Or does it just seem that way to me as a nooby noob?
Well  I could make a very long list of mistakes the builder did.

I won't   do that.   As moq's of 5    not too bad  you need a partner.  I been doing this a long time.  Buying 1 unit  is not smart  as the gear breaks. So to  have 2 or 3 units allows for switching out  and blending the gear.

A 1300-1400 watt at the plug miner  is not for home use.  It is hot and loud you need a place for them.  Having a few will help a lot.

Having 1 piece not so much.

Based on its size  they could have done moq's of 4  and fit them in a bigger box. the one below for instance  would fit 4 units  in boxes like the s-9 are in.  I know this as I have sold  sets of 4  S-7s  packed in this box.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Classic-Large-Heavy-Duty-Cardboard-Moving-Box-Actual-24-in-x-18-in/50098526

Well of course I'd love to have 5, but I'm planning to trickle all my btc earnings back into more machines, slowly, grow without going out on a limb. I just don't have that much extra to plow into it. I had the spare bedroom wired up w/4 220 outlets, and I have one bad investment limping along already. Hopefully another, healthier machine will arrive in March. I'll probably buy again in May and who knows what's going to happen between now and then, 3 months ago eth was 300! It's a guesstimate, always.
Cheers!

Bitcoin has already crashed back down to $13k..  if it dips under $8k the miner prices will crater like scrypt mining did 3 years ago

As a nooby noob, I wouldn't mind if it went down for like a week or two, and washed out all the weak kneed types. Maybe equipment prices would get back down to normal. Meanwhile, it is what it is, the market is the market. I was willing to pay the juice, and I still had a heck of a time laying my hands on couple decent machines. You connected guys might not realize how hard it is for somebody with zero btc to get into the game in a non ridiculous way. (like buying 5k of btc on a credit caard at btc=20k is ridiculous and stupid) And sending large amounts of value with zero consumer protections takes quite a bit of getting used to. Back OT, hopefully these units shipping will clear the way for the higher T/hs Avalons. 11 is good, 16-18 is better, and there's supposed to be some higher T/hs models working thier way out to us.

166  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Getting Avalon 821 which needs 220/240v. I am looking at a device to step my 120 on: January 15, 2018, 01:40:36 PM
I looked at step up/down devices , in the end, the electrician was much better and didn't cost much more. I reluctantly called the electrician but my worries over the price were overblown, my house is old, like the year 1900, not 1901, so I figured it would cost a lot, but it was only about 600 usd for 2 ckts 2 outlets each ckt. 1 220v circuit can run 2 s9s, so 2 outlets each ckt, 4 outlets total. Cheaper than 4 step up/down carps and far superior in quality and stability. Most electricians will come and look at the job for free, and give you an estimate. Try it, you might like it. I did.   Also, 580 8gb saphires are on amaz for 300usd/ea, not sure what you usually pay.

edit - I guess they're out again, I got one for 269 last week.
167  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANTMINER S7/S9 Boards - Who repairs them !!! Surely someone does ??? on: January 15, 2018, 01:27:58 PM
Bitmain Warranty is not associated with Bitmain at all - its a separate company.

I am aware they do not repair and they have two places...

So Bitamins main purchasing site will eventuqlly lead mr to your site above ?

It is NO WHERE on Bitmains site.

I'm just a noob, but my e9 might have a bad board, and when I was looking for a replacement I saw s9 replacement boards for 125-150 usd on ebag. New, they say. If you have to pay that anyways - and ship your miners out - it might be cheaper and faster to buy that and replace yourself.
Good luck.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Alt coins to mine in 2018 on: January 13, 2018, 06:10:14 PM
Do you need money for now or are you mining to hold?
What are you mining with?
Figure out what you need, what you have, and what it's good at, and mine that.
or check whattomine, whatever.
Cheers!
PS- I like etn too. Up to 18 cents!
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is mining altcoins with gpu worth the effort? on: January 13, 2018, 06:03:11 PM
I have a rig I bought for video games, msi x99s/i7/2 580 8GB saphires, it was just sitting there most of the time, now I have it mining when it's not in use. Currently mining electroneum, spacepools, get about 60 per 24 hours, at .18 usd thats about 10$ a day, minus electricirty. I could tweak it for more but it would mess me up when I go all video games and drinking on a saturday night. It's not really aa lot of money, but it's literally like free extra money for me. Chasing bitcoin is an investment. Alt coins are like free stuff that I get on the side. If you want to get all serious about it, check out the rigs for sale online to see what you're up against. A little OT, I would love to crush some Star Wars Battlefront II or Battlfield one night with 12 1080s, all maxed for gamez, man that would be a trip.
170  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: January 13, 2018, 05:34:47 PM
Thank you all for your answers, they are most helpful. I'm just going to go with it, it's getting .0011 and change/day over a 7 day stretch, so it's about where I expected it based on the online calculators. It's my first machine. Once I can get an s9 or two up and running maybe I'll take it offline and see what's up. the cgminer status stays around 6.5T, so maybe I got a 6.5 and paid 9.0 money, I dunno. Tried their site but couldn't find a place to look up the serial number. It is what it is. I settled for less, and I got less. I paid less too, so there's that. I was just in a hurry to get something up and running, and to be honest I'm glad I did, even if it's probably not my best financial move ever. Like training wheels :-0

I got this from HagssFIN on another thread, dl the ebit mini from the ebang site as he described,  get the miner ip. Change your computer ip to the same domain as the miner, Google how if you don't know. Now you can log into the miner. Enable dhcp. Then reboot the miner. Reset your computer ip to the way it was. Reboot. The miner should now have an ip in the same domain as your router,  and you should be able to see it in the web browser and your router homepage. Use the ebit mini again if you need to for the new ip.

HagssFIN I have a couple questions if you come by, what lights are on the hashboards inside? I have 3 boards, green lights on the 2 outside boards, the center board has a flashing red light. Not the controller,  the boards themselves inside. Peek in through the fan. I don't know if that's normal but I am starting to suspect I bought a used one with a bad hashboard. I saw it drop a few times and come back on its own.  I asked on the other thread but it's old and long. Do you think I have a bad board? If so any idea where I can buy a replacement? I'm averaging. 0011 btc/day which seems about right I think... I'm totally new to this.
174  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: January 11, 2018, 06:06:25 PM
Had my E9+ 9T up for a week now, I'm not home much, nicehash has my hashrate all over the chart, from 1.0 to 14.9, but it's averaging .001 btc/day, which seems about right, so I wasn't too worried about it. A couple nights ago I walked by and the bad red light was on, the controller, but it cleared while I was looking at it. Today I saw it happen again, it was down for 9 minutes, then restored itself, during that time could not see it from my pc. Inside the box there are green lights on the outside boards, the one in the middle has a tiny blinking red light.
a - I suspect I have a bad board. Do I?
b - Anybody know where I can get a replacement?

Thanks.

PS -  bassdun read my post right before yours if you haven't solved it yet. Do what HaggssFIN said, use the ebite mini tool to get the miner ip, change your computer ip to be in the same range, then log into the miner and enable dhcp, reboot it, and you can revert your pc ip, all will be good. It will give itself something in your router domain. You will be able to see it in the web browser.
175  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: January 08, 2018, 05:52:57 AM
My anonymous reseller just cancelled my order. I guess he sold a pallet on eBag 60@4200 per and his whole pallet got cancelled. Not clear whether they were dealing directly with bitmain,  communication is spotty at best. He seemed sincere, of course it's possible they'll be relisted at a higher price.  I think some of the connected veterans don't realize how difficult it is for us Noobs to get our hands on these gosh darned things. I paid 8400 for 2 in the first week of December. So far I got 2 refunds and a used e9. And believe me it's a much longer story than you probably want to hear. If you have been on the scene for a while and you can toss 2795 USD worth of bc on a minutes notice, you probably don't think it's a big deal. I even got through to the bitmain site once,  bitcoin in hand, but the price had gone up, and it timed out before I could scramble up the rest. I saw the guy scoffing at 3 thousand dollars for 11t machines, but I'm pretty sure you could flip them for 4500 each in about a day.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Pool.Electroneum.Space - Best ETN Mining Pool on: January 08, 2018, 05:18:19 AM
Definitely spacepools has slowed down. I waited 2 days to be sure. You can see in the blocks list huge gaps of 45 minutes to an hour with no blocks. If you scroll way back through the list you can see it started 3 days ago, and it seems to be happening more frequently. And hey ucrypto guy, your pool hit double orphan and freeze for hours two times in 3 days. I respectfully suggest that you have your own issues to adress.
177  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: January 04, 2018, 04:54:41 PM
side note,

i find the IP of my E9+ with wireshark

when i try to connect to the IP  i got a timeout tried to ping the IP
same result  any idea ?

Have you put your computer network settings, IP address settings with the same subnet as the E9 Plus ?

I've got the same issue - are you saying that the subnet needs to be different ?

Thanks

I recommend installing Ebit tool available at their website.

Then check what is the miner ip address.

Then change your computer network setting so your computer is in the same subnet.

Then you can manage the miner and do the settings as you please.

You just resolved my trouble,  many thanks.

I use an EVGA Titanium 1600W power supply and I get the full hashrate over 110.

That's great to know.

Glad to report I've been up and hashing for 18 hours now. Averaging 9.37 TH/s with peaks a little over 10

Still waiting on my cord. You beat me. Glad to hear it's working for you.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best Altcoins to accumulate in 2018? on: January 04, 2018, 05:43:27 AM
I love reading the posts from November. Only 3 months, and such big changes in the market! Eth was 300 in early November, 900+ now. Ripple hit 3 bucks. If you guessed Ripple and Eth in November, you win! Cheers. As long as this thread is active again, I was wondering if anybody else is high on electroneum. It's about 8 cents usd today, but I feel like if they ever get the cellphone thing going it could go up, curious if anyone else has a couple thousand etn's tucked away and why.
