As we near voting i guess i need to through out a pitch to everyone. I dont have anything fancy to put up so all

I am looking to be elected in all 4 regions. I have been part of SuperNET since the start. I have also been in BTCD a long time and was probably the second or third person on the KMD testnet.

I run my own hardware in SH and have been running and assisting others to run their nodes.

So vote for Pondsea https://www.komodoelection.com/candidates/pondsea/

Is there a consolidated listed of all the candidates with their proposals?

I am trying to send "superBTCD" from https://wallet.mynxt.info I used the BTCD SWAP address and I got an error message.

Incorrect "recipient"

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks,

That should work. Can you get a screenshot or something?

Hi Guys, When the voting starts, could you list all the steps so that people don't have to ask too many questions.
The voting procedure should be very simple.

                        Wink

Basically you pick 1 person in the 4 regions and click submit.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 14, 2017, 01:21:18 AM
The reason why BTCD is better value vs BTC is due to people underselling themselves. If the market were to price BTCD correctly then you would see the price as 0.0065.

And again, the developers should really keep to the schedule that they've posted here many times over the past months:

Schedule

- ICO site accepts BTCD
 - 7 days after that BTCD snapshot happens & the swapping begins
 - Elections begin, and last 2 weeks
 - Elections are over, elected notary nodes will get ratified, KMD will be distributed

Most importantly, we should get at least 1 week notice before the snapshot.  Many people can only move a limited amount of crypto out of Poloniex per day, depending on verification levels, so please give us a week, as promised before the snapshot so we can get it done.

If you want to allow swapping earlier or distribute KMD early, I suppose wouldn't be downsides, but the advance notice for the snapshot is important.  Thank you.

I thought the REVS snapshot would happen before the swap? If I send my BTCD off and then the snapshop happens, don't I get no revs? Or are you saying you only get REVS if you have sent your BTCD to the ICO site?

It is happening at the same time basically. You can either send the btcd to the swap site or wait for the snapshot to happen. Then all you need is the private key to that address to claim the revs later.

Does a guy/gal have to transfer their BTCD to the swap site before the 15th in order to be a part of the Rev asset snapshot, or can we leave it in our wallets for the snapshot? I would personally feel alot better about keeping my btcd in my wallet until I am ready to swap it.

Thanks Much, JJ

It is better to leave it in your own wallet (you will still be part of the snapshot). This is for people that dont have a working local wallet and have them on exchanges.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: January 08, 2017, 07:35:40 PM
I think you need to take your advise and read what i wrote. I answered your question with my post.

The deposits is open for people to deposit their BTCD for the REVS snapshot as well as to swap your BTCD to KMD. If you do not want to swap your BTCD for now that is OK just hold it locally in your own wallet. This does mean you cannot vote for notaries though as you would not have any KMD to do so.

This means that you can either hold your BTCD in your wallet OR deposit it into the SWAP site and on the 15th the snapshot will happen. By sending it to the SWAP site you kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I didn't ask about voting. I didn't ask if someone had to swap your BTCD now or wait until later.

What is the date of the REVS snapshot of the BTCD blockchain?   And is it going to still work as before and if you are holding BTCD in your own wallet and have the private keys, then you are set and you will be part of the REVS distribution?

The snapshot is on the 15th. If you hold your BTCD in your local wallet and have the private keys then your BTCD balance will be part of the snapshot. At a later date, you will need to use the private key to "import" your REVS coins onto the REVS chain. I dont know if this date has been specified. But it should be at the same time as the other people getting theirs.

The BTCD --> KMD swap is now live on our ICO platform: https://ico.komodoplatform.com/. Swap your BTCD before 15.01.2017 to participate on the REVS distribution! Just login to your ICO account and click "Swap" in the menu to start the swapping process.

What does that mean?   When is the snapshot and you've been saying for months that the swap isn't supposed to be related to the REVS distribution.

Quoting KomodoPlatform

"
BTCD Snapshot to get REVS

- The snapshot is not related to BTCD swap.
 - The snapshot is to get an additional asset called REVS.
 - The privatekeys are used to redeem the asset.
 - The snapshot has not happened yet!
 - to participate the BTCD can be stored either in a BTCD address under your control, or in our ICO site

BTCD Swap to get KMD

- has nothing to do with the snapshot
 - is done through the ICO site
 - lasts 1 full year
 - swapped BTCD ends up in our account, where it is publicly visible (nothing will happen to the swapped BTCD)
 - hopefully every single BTCD coin will get swapped during the year
"

And you said two days ago that "1BTCD = 50.448 is the official announced BTCD>KMD swap rate!  During 1 fully year BTCD can be swapped for KMD with that rate (however the exchange rate decreases slightly throughout the year because BTCD staking expands the supply".

Now you suddenly say "1 BTCD = 50.42041779 KMD"  Huh  Do you guys keep to any of your "official" published plans?

Some of these accusations are pretty unfair to you, but in some people's defense, I don't think they're completely unfounded.  Unfortunately in the past 2-3 years, you've attached your name to way too many projects (whether or not you were directly involved) and most of these projects have not really amounted to anything.  I understand that you've been working hard and have never given up, but at this point it's kind of become your responsibility to prove these accusations wrong and clear your reputation.  Hopefully that can be done once Komodo and all these other features are finally released to the public.

It's not his "responsibility" to prove anything to you.  Everyone else does not have these concerns.  His reputation is fine with everyone but you, and frankly I would rather him work on the code than debate trolls on the internet.

You don't think it's his responsibility to investors, the people who provided funds to help keep his project(s) going?

And you're wrong, there are definitely enough people who has these concerns. Enough to create a reputation.

Do you think people accusing him of things are actually investors?

Do you want him to waste time answering them over and over again instead of coding and increasing the value of the assets that investors have put money in?

I believe James has addressed all the "concerns" people have raised. If they choose not to find the answers it is not up to James to repeat them.

What conditions need to be met b4 unity starts producing dividends?

First we need to finish the platform/framework level of SuperNET, which includes Iguana & Komodo.

How long do you expect will it take?

Two More Years®

iCEBREAKER i am glad you are ok. We havent seen you in this thread and due to the downturn in your fav alt and it being obsoleted by Zcash, we thought the worst.

Happy new year to you if we dont see you before then.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: December 29, 2016, 10:53:13 AM
Can anyone help me understand the difference between komodos decentralized exchange and waves decentralized exchange?

The differences in what tools they will offer to traders is not clear. WAVES plans on doing margin trading and lending in addition to straight buys and sells. The real difference between the two will come from the underlying technology. Komodo sends its blockchain onto the bitcoin blockchain using special types of transactions. They do this through a system of notary nodes but exactly what type of transactions these are is unclear. They will be using the Equihash algorithm which is the one ZCash employs while WAVES is using Scorex. Komodo is also borrowing the zero-knowledge proofs from ZCash for anonymous transfers. I haven't seen any documentation on how their trading engine is supposed to operate.

From the looks of it Komodo doesn't seem to have much transparency. They've promised some things that sound good but when you go their website it seems very, very sketchy. The lead developer was working on the SuperNET project which did an ICO in 2014 and has yet to deliver anything functional. The lead GUI dev is some guy named "Boogieman" and I can't tell who he is from the cartoon drawing of him. Who is he? You can't make this stuff up. https://komodoplatform.com/#tab-id-2

The whole project looks like a joke or a scam. Though WAVES development has been far from perfect at least I know who in the hell is working on it. They have a real team in a real office that is really working on something. Komodo presents as though it could be pulled off by a single lead developer who hired a graphic artist for a couple days to make some logos and a website before paying for a few articles and ads on some cryptocurrency news site. The ideas behind it sound intriguing but the track record of the one person attached to it whom I can actually identify plus the total lack of transparency is really bad. I'm certainly not ready to get cozy and go all in with WAVES, but at the same time I won't be touching any Komodo with a ten foot pole.

I would do some research before spouting crap....

James has been working on Supernet/Komodo for the last 2 years and is one of the true pioneers of the crypto sphere.  He also gave/inspired the idea that Sasha turned into Waves.

Waves will also be using Jame's tech (Multigateway) or a variation to build its proxy asset exchange/fiat gateways.

So you should be thankful for the "scammer" that is jl777 for his contribution to the Waves Platform.

One think that people may not know but to get the 5% you have to spend you KMD, even if it is back to your own wallet.

The more often you spend, the more compound interest you will get. This will promote tx's within the network and fees to the nodes. (bloat will not be a problem)  Grin
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: December 23, 2016, 06:38:41 PM
Ok I am intrigued by KMD and going to get onboard.  I should probably read and research more about it, but I like the concepts behind it and sounds like a competent team of developers.  I like anonymous cryptocurrencies and have a little XMR and ZEC as well and KMD could be their successor and take more of the market.

That is only half of the tech. KMD will be protected by the hashing power of Bitcoin and all altchains/smartchains of KMD will have the ability to do so also. I wont go into more details as too much tech at 5am is not good for anyone  Grin

When KOMODO finally released, I think SuperNET (UNITY) will rise, too.  Roll Eyes

Especially once we will be able to price it in Btc or Usd rather than in Nxt

People can arb against NXT and BTC pair thus you will see people buying say on NXT AE then send assets to POLO to sell. Once the assets are off NXT, there is no way to make this free money!
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: December 03, 2016, 11:59:24 PM
When can I withdraw KMD?

Our exact schedule will be announced when the ICO site is ready for BTCD snapshot. There's no date yet. The loose schedule is

ICO site ready - soon
BTCD snapshot - 7 days from that
Election begins - Right after the snapshot
Election ends - two weeks later
KMD distribution - Right after election

So, as i see it, we will get our KMD in our hands in about 3 weeks to 1 month...
a long road ahead for all of us who support this project.

I am curious to see how ppl will react as time goes by... Roll Eyes Cool

I don't see a problem, rather it's done right than quickly but, I'm not here for a quick dump. Therefore, I'm not too concerned with the people who are...

People need to understand this was not a original requirement. Originally people were supposed to download the blockchain and move their BTCD into it for the snap shot. Since people are not able to do this for some reason (there is no known issues) we have had to add this feature in.

So this delay could have been avoided, but that would make it harder for people. So the team have done this to accommodate and make it easier for BTCD owners.

Any chance you can convert your BTCD at Poloniex in Komodo in the future?

If you can get polo to agree to it sure, otherwise safer to move to your own wallet or the ICO website for the swap.
