So help me better understand POS please.
This coin is MIN stake age 24 hours, my coins have been in my wallet for 2.5 days now and I am yet to stake. How come? Does your weight play a significant roll in how quickly you will start to stake?
Morning sir, Your weight does play it's part. the smaller the chunks of steps the longer it will take to stake. if you use small chunks you'll likely find some pos block but not very often. If you use big chunk, you'll stake often but have lower chunks. It's a find balance. Altcoinsteps suggested that chunks of 10k steps be the optimal chunk size. I haven't had a stake in 36 hours and I have some large blocks. Luck play it's part too. |

Back at 2K Yep someone put the breaks - clearly there are people trying to accumulate. No matter - still only 4.56 BTC to 5000 sat - which is what I would call the minimum reasonable price. 5000 floor by the weekends end. 5000sat this weekend? wat will it be in mid november? could this be a dollar coin very soon?  Probably not soon - but it will be 10c a coin before Christmas - mark my words. Side question for the devs: Any chance we could get a staking calculator built? e.g. - Enter the number of coins you hold - Enter the approximate block your coins matured for staking - Enter the block to count up to - Your expected stakings (provided no withdrawals are made and all stakings are left to stake) = XXXX Do you mean a calculator similar to net for instance? It says when and what your stakes will be? Sort of - More like "With this number of coins, staking from this block, until this block you generate an estimated X number of steps. It's a great way to help newcomers understand the value of buying and holding rather than dumping as soon as it goes up. I am sure you all know that we are very busy with the development of Steps.
I hereby would like to invite anyone of the community to share ideas with us to make Steps even bigger! You guys have a great team. Why not community driven crypto adoptions/acquisition? Taking over abandoned coins, recreating value in the coin, and somehow attaching it to steps. Exchange maybe.It will help rebuild trust in the crypto world. Does something like that exist? Like a guild of crypto devs haha. I know there are some developers that will fix broken wallets, node services, blockchain development, public relations (Vegas guy). Dividends can be paid to coin holders. It packed a punch with Icash which bright more awareness. Just some ideas. Interesting suggestion and something to think about, however Steps take all our time and effort. We would like to concentrate to make Steps the best coin possible! I would tend to agree here, it takes a lot of effort to take over a coin and run it. Steps has to come first in this instance. Having tried to revive a coin before I know how much effort it takes and without a community backing it, it's almost pointless doing it. Sometimes it's better to let old coins fade away. |

Yes get your miners on steak cloud mining and get mining and get payed in steps. I have 2 miners going 1 shaw 256 plus scrypt miner i made over 8000 in the last few days it great way to get your steps coins and then get then staking it adds up fast . Ok, I did look at that wrong however if you look over at yobit there is about 20k of them on the market sell orders... They are selling at about 1k and Buying around 700
I guess for the sake of simplicity mining here is easy but when you buy from the most expensive exchange...hurts the miners
When Steak Cloud first started supporting STEPS Bleutrade was the cheapest. We are open to moving to another exchange, I can assure you miner profitability is our number 1 priority. I will start moving the API over to yobit tomorrow and maybe we can look at a way to check across all exchanges to get the best rates for miners. I would think that that would be kept to himself as he has a duty to get the lowest price/most STEPS for his miners and letting that out would mean everyone would just use that knowledge to their advantage (to the disadvantage of his miners). It's always worth an ask |

A fool and his money are soon parted. Those coins are maturing in my wallet in lovely 5000 STEPS chunks. Suckers!  1000 STEPS chunks are better, but good work and nice staking! Well, 1000 steps chunks might be better for more stakes, but the 5000 chunks are more likely to stake. The network weight is massive and I can't see there being any let up in that respect LP |
