161  Economy / Speculation / Re: HUGE PLUMMET TOMORROW! on: February 14, 2014, 01:58:14 PM
Its 2/14/14 FRIDAY. Gox is still at $350-ish average. BitcoinSteve has A LOT of explaining to do!  Angry
162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: February 14, 2014, 01:50:51 PM
There would actually need to be some critical flaw in bitcoin for prices to go that low.   Not the flaw like Gox is stating...
Gox is just trying to spread propaganda and induce a panic into the market. What they are blaming onto the Bitcoin protocol has been known for years and we never had any major issues with transaction malleability before. One thing everyone needs to ask themselves is "why talk about it now?". Gox is pretty much just playing the blame game for some transaction issues that was caused on their end and not due to the Bitcoin protocol. If their goal was to bring the market down, then they succeeded in doing so.. but since no one can withdraw their fiat or bitcoins, it's pretty much an empty market. The only people who will come out on top of Gox's fiasco is Gox themselves, most of their members are going to lose out big time. I hope other exchanges doesn't follow down Gox's path and start throwing their own FUD against the network's protocol either.

"TRUST IN THE COIN"

As far as BTC going back up to the $1000s, I wouldn't hold my breath for that to happen any time soon.  I'd say maybe within a 3-4 months time, we might see prices getting closer to the $1000s mark... but only if Gox or some other major player in Bitcoin doesn't screw it up by manipulating the market again.
163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Transaction Malleability is all BS on: February 14, 2014, 08:28:54 AM
When the fog clears, everyone will realize and start questioning exactly how the TM issue affected Gox and why are they implementing their own hash protocol into their system for no apparent reason. They are basically trying to improve something that doesn't need to be improved (if it ain't broke, don't fix it). When Gox resumes their services, prices will be low, people will then realize that nothing really happened and nothing positive came from it.. only the price if Bitcoin has dropped significantly and Gox will be the only one that has pocketed from the crash that they induced.
164  Economy / Speculation / Transaction Malleability is all BS on: February 14, 2014, 07:57:48 AM
This exploit/bug has been known to all throughout the community since the beginning of time. Let's get the facts straight here, yes the exploit/bug exist but it isn't even remotely a risk to the Bitcoin protocol. Mt. Gox and other exchanges blaming the Bitcoin protocol due to the transaction malleability issue are basically using that excuse as a scapegoat to hide behind the real issue at play. If the real reason why Mt. Gox suspended all withdrawal operations was because of the "TM" issue, then it isn't the fault of the Bitcoin protocol but the fault lies within Mt.Gox themselves for not securing their transaction system.

If you left your real life wallet with hundreds of dollars inside on a coffee shop table and someone steals it, you can't blame your wallet, let alone the person, for running off with your money. You'd only blame yourself for not taking precautions to protect your money. Mt.Gox is doing the exact opposite by blaming the wallet thief. For something that existed since the beginning of Bitcoin and is now being brought up as a major exploit followed by FUD is just total bullshizzle in my humble opinion. If Mt.Gox was really in trouble, they'd suspend all trading activity and not just withdrawals. I'm not saying they aren't though, it is obvious that Mt.Gox is creating a state of panic for all their customers so they can bring the price of Bitcoins down so they can cover their capital (at the expense of their members).

All other exchanges or major sites incorporating the use of Bitcoins that follows this trend is just trying to follow Mt.Gox's get richer, quicker scheme. To all that is holding onto their Bitcoins, keep doing just that. If you sell now, I can say with certainty that you will regret your decision to sell at this state of panic. For those looking to buy into Bitcoins, this seems like a great opportunity but do it anywhere except for Mt.Gox because you won't be able to withdraw your investment. Bitcoin will go back up, I'm not only 99.9% sure of this.. I am 100% sure with a few months time, the market will correct itself. As for me, I'm all in it for the coins.

P.S - I wish that currency exchange monitors would just drop Mt.Gox from the market. Their prices are not even legit. People/bots are basically trading imaginary coins at this moment. I hope in the future, Mt.Gox will not be looked upon as one of the major Bitcoin exchanges, this will further decentralize Bitcoin in terms of value that is mostly controlled by Gox so other exchanges can offer competitive pricing.
165  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Leancy Ltd - Invest w/ Bitcoins 150% Yields on: February 13, 2014, 07:46:23 AM
wow be careful why on earth would you just throw away $1000 in bitcoins like that? You realize the OP is promoting a hyip with his referall I should add  Undecided and will eventually shut down and take everyones bitcoins? type into google hyip and do more research before you come back posting how you lost your life savings.
Everyone who is investing into Leancy knows what HYIPs are and the risk associated with HYIPs. You don't need to state the obvious, I can't speak for everyone but I would assume everyone who has invested into Leancy or other HYIPs knows what they are getting themselves into and what they are willing to risk. The majority of investors at Leancy doesn't even invest with Bitcoins. I would say a 10-15% bracket of investors uses BTC.

Also, I'm not pointing a gun at anyone forcing them to sign up under me as their referral. No one is obligated to sign up under me. For those that do, I'm grateful and that's why I try to give back to the community (network).

By the way, I used the calculator here: http://ncalculators.com/investment/short-term-savings-calculator.htm
and with a more conservative approach of only 4% interest per day, with an investment of 1000$ which is re-invested every 10 days, It will take a mere 180 days (6 months, or 24 weeks about) to reach Half (0.5) million dollars. From there, it'll take only 20 days to get to one million dollars.
Of course that's considering the enterprise will run this long.. but it's a daunting thought, to contemplate how compound the interest gets.

What do you think?
I wouldn't worry too much about the long term investments especially when it comes to HYIPs. For HYIP, you're suppose to focus on the short term earnings. Of course, all this depends how successful Leancy turns out to be, you may or may not have the opportunity to invest long term but I guess we'll eventually find out.  As of this post, Leancy has well over $1mil in invested funds within a 60 day period, if this record keeps going, it'll be possible to make the returns as you've mentioned above.

They temporary blocked it due to the ddos of blockchain

https://leancy.com/blog/8
Leancy has restored their services and now operates normally. The ddoss on Blockchain's CloudFlare is over.

Do people have to sign up under you to participate? If so, I'm out...
Unfortunately, yes. I made this raffle so I can give back to the people in my network. Karma is a gooooood Smiley

Btw, what're the results of the raffle? Smiley
The raffle ends tonight (02/11/14) at 11:59PM est. The drawing will take place a little bit after 12AM, I will have to wait for my withdrawal from Leancy to clear the blockchain confirmations. Once that's done, I will use Random.org to pick one of the winners. The winner will be contacted via PM of their winnings and they will receive 5% of my total Bitcoin earnings accumulated on 02/11/14.
169  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: my mtgox account has been robbed this night. on: February 10, 2014, 01:30:22 PM
Has anyone considered this might be MtGox's doing? Given the current situations MtGox is facing with the whole "transaction malleability" issue, could they be transferring all BTC from user accounts into one address for "safe-keeping" until they fix whatever it is they're trying to fix? I do find it kind of strange this so-called hacker stole thirty something thousands worth of Bitcoins and is just letting it sit there. Has anyone tried contacting MtGox directly? Like.. as in person to try to get some answers?

Started a raffle drawing for all members in my network. I wish those few guys would read the post so they can participate and get this raffle started. I'm actually anxious to give some free Bitcoins away. The anticipation! lulz

I've made my second withdrawal with Leancy - you can see withdrawal/payment proof of my withdrawals at http://leancy.robertattfield.com/splash.html#paymentproof. I've since reinvested 0.028 BTC, and plan to withdraw 50% of my profit when the available withdrawable balance is USD$20.
Nice going Robert.  Wink
172  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Leancy Ltd - Invest w/ Bitcoins 150% Yields on: February 09, 2014, 11:45:35 AM
Can I withdraw my deposit anytime I want?

You need 0.01BTC to withdraw and I think $1 with other currencies.
^ What Mixevil said. As long as you meet the minimum withdrawal criteria, you can withdraw as often as you want. There are no withdrawal time limits.
173  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Leancy Ltd - Invest w/ Bitcoins 150% Yields on: February 08, 2014, 11:27:56 PM
Majority of their investors don't use Bitcoins, most use international money exchange services like Egopay, Okpay etc. But yea, it's a good thing they don't convert Bitcoins to fiat. When you invest with them your investing with Bitcoins and your returns will be in Bitcoins. BTC market rates and fluctuations does not affect the amount of Bitcoins accrued on Leancy. You still earn the same amount on the daily basis regardless if Bitcoins were at $100 or at $1000.

^ Nice job Robert!

The recent crash sure is taking it's toll on the amount we all could be making... but.. I'm in it for the coins!  Grin
175  Economy / Economics / Understanding the recent mini-crash/dump on: February 07, 2014, 01:33:18 AM
Ever wonder what drives the Bitcoin economy besides those few groups or individuals who orchestrate pumps and dumps?

In recent events, Mt.Gox has starting locking users accounts due to the recent events that happened with ex-CEO Charlie Shrem of BitInstant; who was arrested on "alleged" charges of money laundering last week at JFK Airport in NYC.  Even though Gox is not directly connected to Shrem's indictment, the reason why Mt.Gox has placed this restriction on hundreds, if not thousands, of their members is because they want to save their bacons from any implications that may indict them as a "co-accomplice in BitInstant's money laundering scheme". Due to the defensive measures set up by Gox (they call this their validation process), a load of users were not able to withdraw their funds and hence it started to create a chain of Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt... eventually leading to the mini-crash that just happened.. and may well still be happening.

Until Mt. Gox can get their service running up properly.. things will be unstable for a while. I would recommend anyone holding on to their Bitcoins to do nothing with them right now. Any more panic selling would surely cause the market to go down further.

My 2 cents.

I decided to sink 0.1 BTC into Leancy - it's not a huge amount to start off with, and I won't be sinking anymore until I make a 100% return on what I originally put in. For those who have yet to sign up, but want to, feel free to sign up through me at http://leancy.robertattfield.com.
It's a shame you didn't use me as your referral. Sad
Also, I believe your referral link is wrong.. you might want to check your referral panel for the correct link. The correct link format should be: https://leancy.com/~LeancyBTC (eg: my referral link) But otherwise, happy investing! Smiley

What are BTCTalk's views on referral incentives? Eg: Getting people to join under you and in return, offer a small compensation for it.
179  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Leancy Ltd - Invest w/ Bitcoins 150% Yields on: February 05, 2014, 11:24:49 AM
I'd like to also point out that their Bitcoin conversion rates are coming from Blockchain's market value. If you invest $50 worth, the return from your investment in the dollar amount might go up or down depending on the market rates. However, the Bitcoin return will always be the same regardless if rates go up or down because you're investing with Bitcoins and not fiat.

It sounds really sketchy, how do they generate this type of profit if it's not a pyramid scheme?
Never said it wasn't.  Wink
It's more HYIP than anything else as Mivexil has cleverly point.
