I've made an infographics comparing BCN and BTC (life those made by bitcoinexamner for BTC/LTC, BTC/NMC etc earlier. example)

Here's the small version:

Full-size version: https://i.imgur.com/tJz6FnI.jpg

Very informative and brief infographics. Are you going to make another infographics? for example, infographics comparing BCN and other CN-based coins?

I've taken part in quiz. well, I wish I've answered correctly so I will get some coins.

You've made right choice to take part in it.
Don't you think that the questions are easy to answer?
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: August 04, 2014, 08:03:49 AM
I bought some coins@ 0.009 and now after few weeks i've decided to look at the market price it's around 0.004....WTF?

good thing you didn't look when it was around 0.002!  haha
Oh, it went that low? I'm glad i didn't check it that time otherwise i would already be tearing my hair apart.

OMG, I think everyone would tear his hair in case he check the price in the time i was 0.002 .

Hey everyone,

The updated blockchain is available for download from https://bytecoin.org/downloads
I've also chatted with the devs, there will be be huge events soon. You may be even able to ask them yourselves Wink

I'm still on vacation till Sunday, so don't miss me much!

It sounds very mysterious!

Yep, is this huge event somehow apocalyptic?

Wow, that's not good to have an apocalyptic event. IMO, this event would be somehow connected with gui wallet

And when this huge event is going to happen? I so excited as every time BCN devs promises something huge it appears to be something  really significant.

IMO, it's gonna be soon and no need to tell you how important is that we've recently get the thread to ask developers some technical question

Ok. But still I didn't get the answers to my questions and there is no evidence to proof the necessity to integrate i2p to the coin

Quote
i2p, of course, has pros but I wonder if the patterns are used above correct for their intended purposes? Does the FoxyProxy setup in any way open up for attacks?
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 28, 2014, 08:12:31 PM
Wouldn't it better to listen to Cryptonote academics as they have created this technology and no one knows it as well as they.

Considering we don't know who the hell they are and can't verify any of their claims or intentions, I would say no. A thousand times no.

Or at least I would say not to trust anything they say. Listen sure. We always do that.

BTW, I2P will add NAT traversal, something that doesn't exist on any other coin as far as I know beyond the limited case of UPNP. It isn't the only way to do that but it is part of that value added.

Just read your post.

We don't know a lot other people in crypto currency world, we even don't know who is Satoshi but he some-how forced people to believe in Bitcoin and nowadays Bitcoin is liquid.

As well as there is no point to trust them they've done nothing wrong to make us not believe in their words.
They are the founders of CryptoNote tech and maybe in token of respect we'd better to listen to their words?!

What the necessity to implement i2p? I don't see the point to make this integration as well as CryptoNote dev team.
Brandon Hawking has written his thoughts about i2p on the forum - https://forum.cryptonote.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=205#p670

This has been discussed at length, it's to ensure that (generally speaking) an attacker can't determine if you are using Monero or not.

We're not beholden to what the CryptoNote academics believe, so whilst any input they have to offer is always appreciated, we've already diverged far from their reference code, and will continue to do so as we fix deficiencies in their protocol (some of which were highlighted in the Monero whitepaper review).

Still, I don't understand the reason to implement i2p to the coin. Wouldn't it better to listen to Cryptonote academics as they have created this technology and no one knows it as well as they.

I2P is pretty much mandatory for any anonymous coin, according to what others said(anonymint), I2P is the most important thing that ensures a coins anonymity.

It can be a true but not for CN-based coins. And it uses a lot of RAM and, furthermore, there are ways in which users can fail to secure their I2P connection.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - elegant & anonymous payments based on CryptoNote on: July 28, 2014, 07:54:26 PM
I think it would be great if your wallet would be as convenient as Hive for a Bitcoin but with the accessibility on every platform.

I am surprised we've got an open source pool. And even Quazar coin is implemented to it. Great!
It was difficult to create this pool, wasn't it?

Nice quiz we've got here. All questions are easy to answer if you have basic knowledge about Bytecoin.
IMO, so it's very easy to get some coins.

Well, the last question was difficult for me. I've decided to try my fortune and chosen one of the answer without information retrieval

I know the answers to all the questions) I can PM you if you'd like to know the answer to the last question.

As I've already answered the questions I would appreciate if you tell me the answer to the question about the language

Saturday, July, 19th.
I woke up with in a good mood (one of the reasons why I was in a good mood was that the last block reward I've got the day before was high) and turn on my pc to start mining my favorite altcoin ever existed - Bytecoin.

Funny, that this coin called "bytecoin". Everybody knows that ''1 byte'' = ''8 bits", and well-known Bitcoin has ''bit'' at the beginning of the name while Bytecoin has ''byte'' at the same place. Following the logic Bytecoin should cost 8 Bitcoins. Now, the situation is far from being the truth. However, I strongly believe in best future for Bytecoin. Maybe, it won't rise in price fast but it will definitely grow steadily.

p/s hope everyone to get high reward and have a nice day, guys.  Smiley
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin [BCN] vs MONERO [XMR] who will be the winner in the Cryptonote War on: July 19, 2014, 02:11:36 PM
It's important to me to learn the truth.
Searching through the web and reading some threads on bitcointalk have finally bore fruit and now I know what's happened to BCN.

You've made the best decision ever. It's right that you are interested on finding out the truth by yourself.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin [BCN] vs MONERO [XMR] who will be the winner in the Cryptonote War on: July 13, 2014, 07:03:36 PM
so fed up with fuds. isn't it better to stop blowing upon BCN?!!

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 13, 2014, 07:00:58 PM
Is BCN the same as Moneta Verde?

Both are Cn-based coins but MV is BCN fork and you can MM Moneta Verde with abother coin.
It is the second MM coin after Fantomcoin.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 13, 2014, 06:25:17 PM
My advice, don't use the word ''never'' as no one know what will happen in future.
Bitcoin at the beginning cost nothing and there were a few people who believe that the situation will change.
In a couple of years BTC price has soared almost to the moon.

ohh Please dont compare BTC with Bytecoin and also check the total supply of BCN, it is impossible to reach 1$ .

I dont think you knew or expected Bitcoin price to go up.

That's what I was talking about. No one expected Bitcoin to go to $600 and higher.
As you remember there was a time when one guy ordered pizza for 10 000 bitcoin. A year ago the price of BTC go up and so pizza costed him thousands dollars.

Wow, pizza for 10 000 btc?!  Shocked that pizza ought to taste  like ambrosia!  Smiley
