Since the second page, we know that this is a scam.

No, since page 1 there has been skepticism. Since page 2 people have made up things to label these guys a "scam". These guys have yet to "SCAM" anyone, in fact they have refunded one person already and have been in constant email contact with 99% of the people who have contacted them.

I am in no way saying GO BUY ONE RIGHT NOW!!! I am just saying give them a few more days and lets see what unfolds.
164  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 04:35:41 PM

Yes I am "for real". What part of this entire CedarTec thing is different from when Avalon started accepting pre-orderes for batch 1...or BFL back over a year ago?

Both Avalon and BFL had good successful mining products already in the market. CedarTec has nothing. Intentional scam or not, there is no chance of them producing what they're claiming to do.

You must have not read this correctly...What part of this entire CedarTec thing is different from when Avalon started accepting pre-orderes for batch 1...or BFL back over a year ago?

I was talking about BEFORE they had anything to show other than pictures, words, and dreams...everyone starts somewhere. I am not ready to say that this is a scam yet, going to wait another week or two and then make a decision.
165  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] - 20 BFL singles, perfect condition, with power bricks on: May 09, 2013, 02:34:37 PM
at current difficulty they will only make $141 per month...
166  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 01:35:50 PM
are you for real??

Yes I am "for real". What part of this entire CedarTec thing is different from when Avalon started accepting pre-orderes for batch 1...or BFL back over a year ago? CedarTec will probably do the same thing if this is legit...batch 1 will be $1000, second round will be $1500-2000 each then round 3 will be $5000-7500 each

I am not saying go and buy, but I am still not convinced this is a "SCAM" yet

to each their own
167  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 12:57:07 PM
I am still on the fence about this....there are TONS of things that lead me to believe that these guys are scamming, yet nothing is 100% definite.

One thing I was thinking about is that they could be trolling us all with this one refund. By refunding 1 person 8 BTC, they are giving many more confidence that they are legit. The 8 BTC refund could fuel in hundreds of more BTC before they close down everything and are never seen again.

Then again they could still be legit...
168  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 03:03:27 AM
People remember, they already said that they will not be releasing on time. As of right now there is no new release date.
169  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 02:22:56 AM

171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 07, 2013, 03:04:23 AM
I cannot confirm Phinnaeus Gage email are real yet.
I have not received an email from them saying so as he requested they do.
This is like a psychological thriller...jajaja. Well, I'm going to bed.

You can't go to bed till Bitcoinorama posts what I sent him, for I need him as a witness that I all I've state is tue.

Looks like he is gone already...

i want Hardware open source Pcb 2~4 layer if i got that mean i can get 600 mh/s for 100$

not trying to be a dick but this is not going to happen...if there was something I think a lot more people would be going this route rather than the ASIC USB key for 1.99BTC
174  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [1 BTC BOUNTY] Get 6 radeon 7970 installing and mining in Windows 7 x64 on: May 03, 2013, 08:09:08 PM
If you lived in GA Id be willing to come over and tweak around with you on this. Got tons of powered risers, X58 boards/cpus, and other stuff sitting around that we could test out. Good luck

EDIT:

After doing com research on your motherboard/CPU setup I think I may have figured out what is going on. The board you have is using a mix between PCI-E 3.0 and 2.0. Now in order to get full use of all these ports you generally need a IvyBridge 22nm CPU, which the G530 is not. MSI is not putting anything about this on their site but if you go over to the Gigabyte site they make sure to put this in their specs:

http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4139#sp

My suggestion would be to find someone with an IvyBridge CPU and test this out. This is just a theory, but I know with my Z77 board and my 2700K that no matter what I have tried I cannot get all my PCIe slots to work. Let me know if this fixes the problem Smiley

Well you guys are lucky because my emails asking for information and guarantees regarding orders have remained unanswered (asked them to confirm ship date, use of escrow, etc)... So it's a no go for me at this time, a legit company usually has no problem answering the questions I sent. I do import/export in my everyday job and deal with this type of purchases, all the companies I have worked for that did not simply and timely answer question such as the one I sent ended up being trouble (no deliveries, late deliveries, defective goods...) - thankfully in my business I deal with companies that are easily identifiable and recoup losses 99%of the time.... which would not be the case here.

I have gotten answers for every questions asked so far. I will say that it is taking MUCH longer for them to get back to me but generally less than 24 hours. Here are a few answers to questions I have gotten that may answer any questions others may have:

March 31st
Dear customer,

sorry, we only accept bitcoins as payment, also we can not take refunds. The reasons are written down.
We have explained, why we have putted our webpage so late online.

You can wait for the pictures or until may and order at this point.

With best regards,

Your CedarTec Team.

April 1st
Dear customer,

the units of the pre-order will be shiped from china, some of our employees will stay
there and control and test everything, before the units will be send.
Our company is located in Tripoli, Lebanon but we use Icelandic server because of
electricity problems in our city. The Icelandic server are solid and works the entire
time.
We can guarantee may 14th as shipment date because we are now at the last phase
in our production.
At shipment date we will be able to deliver every week 100 units,
orientated by order numbers. Until now we have #0074 pre-orders,
your number will be #0075-#0076-#0077. So your order will be delivered in the first
week.

We do not have any problem to answer all your questions. If you have any questions left,
just feel free to ask.

April 11th

Dear customer,

after now it will be possible to be on time.
If a delay should occur, it will be only some days.

Like we said, it is impossible to guarantee it to
100% and it would be wrong to do so, but we are doing our best
and working many hours to reach our goals.

April 15th

Dear customer,

we are on the last steps of
the optimizations, we need to
go sure that everything runs
stable over a long time period
before we start the mass production.

We will announce the mass production,
when it starts, but before we will release
a video of the working prototype.

The shipment date is still scheduled for
the 14th may.

April 26th
Dear customer,

currently the video is not
our number one priority,
please understand the delay.
Like promised we will upload
the video this week,
if there is no other possibility
we will capture it sunday.

More informations will be published
next week on our webpage.
176  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 03, 2013, 03:41:59 PM
i asked if their cost was allot less then the absurd prices it was in 2005 for that process.
im not sure if the figure they gave me is what it cost or if it was just a figure as to how much it would cost if i were to order from the same chinese manufacturer.

and yes by email, and i cant possibly be the only one they are corresponding with by email
i have been trying to communicate with them over email since they went public, generally it takes up to a day for them to respond, depending on the time.

if you were ordering something that was potentially a scam, wouldn't you try to get as much information as you can? and initially i was trying to get an edge on everyone else to be able to better determine whether they are a scam or not. so i know so much because i have been doing my research.

Im with you. I too have been talking with them since April 3rd trying to fish for as much details as possible. I am still on the fence about a pre-order. The greedy me is on one shoulder saying "DO IT DO IT!" While the responsible me is on the other saying "dont do something you will regret!".

Maybe in another 24 hours BTC prices will go back up and I can send them 6.6 coins for a unit, might be worth it then
177  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 03, 2013, 02:04:53 PM
100% scam. Their PCB board is just a mini ATX board with some ports ripped out.

and a PCI-e 1x slot pulled and positioned in the wrong direction? This is not just a basic mini ATX board.

Still on the fence, once BTC prices go back up I may pull the trigger. Right now at sub $100 its not worth it to me

Just go with a custom built Sager:

You can build it however you want, and get dual 7970M GPUs

Been running now for about 30 days with absolutely no down time. Settings are as follows:

Diamond HD7970 (7970PE53G)
Stock core voltage (seems to crash when voltage is lowered for me)
Core Clock 1150
Mem Clock 685
GPU 1 Fan - 75%
GPU 2 Fan - 75%
GPU 3 Fan - 75%
GPU 1 Temp - 57
GPU 3 Temp - 63
GPU 2 Temp - 59
Running the most up to date catalyst v13.4 with best results so far

My average is between 2000-2100MH/s total, pretty impressed so far.
