161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: October 25, 2019, 08:33:02 PM
If we look at your advice, we can already see it was incorrect -- folks shouldn't have sold their alts into btc, they should have sold both alts and btc into fiat. But that's just an example of nobody knowing how this will play out.

And BTC is back to 8600 today. As I said I'm not aiming this at traders - some of them might be able to make money from these ups and downs. Not most bag holders tho. And in the long run you know I'm right. BTC is the the equivalent of DJIA. Alts are the penny stocks. Yeah there will ups and downs and there is a slight chance of BTC stumbling here and there. But it's pretty much guaranteed that most alts will make their bag holders miserable.

If I sell all my alts,  what do I do with my losses?  Remember it's not a loss until you take it, and I can bet alycoin season is just around the corner.  I can feel it.  I'd rather hodl to zero than sell,  if that will ever happen.

Actually you already lost your money, you're just lying to yourself. You would be better off selling it just for tax reasons if you can write off investment loss.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the discipline help in gambling? on: October 25, 2019, 08:16:21 PM
Limiting your exposure is crucial. Set the amount and stick to it. For example if you go to physical casino, take $100 in cash with you and leave credit cards at home. Everything else is just a matter of entertainment.

Of course if you gamble away $100 every day that might be a different problem - addiction.
163  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I think I've made a terrible mistake!! :( on: October 24, 2019, 02:12:43 PM
The original transfer from my paper wallet to my Blockchain account now has 6 confirmations but may not have had any or maybe just one when I tried to move the coins on to other addresses. What normally happens if a person does this? I hope you're right about them not disappearing....I too read online that they will come back to the Blockchain account.

It's ok to spend unconfirmed coins. The second transaction will be confirmed after the first one (or both in the same block).

When I look into it in my Blockchain account, it says Output is unspent and has no children!

When you log in to your Blockchain wallet, do you see the correct balance on the dashboard? And if you go into the BTC wallet, do you see the correct transactions? Confirmed or unconfirmed? As long as nothing is missing or incorrect, you just need to wait for confirmations.
164  Economy / Reputation / Re: Betcoin.AG claims DT members demanded money to change feedback on: October 24, 2019, 01:55:17 PM
I can confirm it was reported and it appears to be legitimate. Blazr hasn't been online in a long time but he probably should be excluded.

I'm kind of relieved it wasn't one of the currently active DT members. Interesting that Blazr has not posted for 3 years but responded to Betcoin's PM.

Someone inactive for 3 years should have been removed from DT a long time ago I think, maybe after 1 year?
165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I think I've made a terrible mistake!! :( on: October 24, 2019, 01:40:08 PM
Has the first original transfer been confirmed by now or not? Would you be able to share the TX IDs? Don't do this if this can affect your privacy though.

Your coins will not disappear, just stay calm and don't throw away any paper wallets. If transactions are not confirmed (e.g. fees too low) the funds will return to your wallet, but I'm not sure how long it takes for that to happen in the Blockchain wallet.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: October 24, 2019, 03:29:41 AM
However, the same way we can't say what coin will be #2 years from now, we can't even say where most alts will be even 1-3 months from now. Sure, perhaps btc dominance increases, every alt flounders, and folks will wish they have sold. Or btc crumbles back to 6K, alts have a run, and we are kicking ourselves for selling our alts at their bottom when if we waited a month we could have gained 2-3x as much.

Obviously nothing is 100% guaranteed but I think the probability of alts staging a comeback is so miniscule that it's not worth the risk.

You are also overlooking risk/reward. If someone puts $100-1000 into some dinky alt hoping it'll turn into ETH years from now, so what? That's a risk they feel worthwhile and isn't so much as to really hurt their finances... yes, most likely they will lose, but if they win, they win big. So who is to tell them they are wrong?

Ethereum was not a dinky alt BTW, it was a truly innovative concept, flawed tho. I can't think of any serious innovation of that scale at this time.

Also people seem to be basing a lot of hopes the assumption that the hypothetical next altcoin rally will follow the same pattern as the previous one, for example some sub-$1 coin will moon to $1400 and everyone holding a few thousand of those will become instant millionaires. I think a bigger chance is that the next rally, if there is one, will play out completely differently. Maybe a completely new concept, some quantum coin maybe Wink, will blow everything out of the water. Maybe some regulatory pressure will force coins to switch to some specific technologies, and those that do will boom, others will fail.

The point is, the chance of "winning" in this market is worse than the chance of "winning" gambling with OTC penny stocks.
167  Economy / Reputation / Re: Betcoin.AG claims DT members demanded money to change feedback on: October 23, 2019, 03:49:51 PM
We are discussing internally whether to out this person publicly. It has been discussed before, but for privacy reasons, we decided against it at that time. Please allow us some time to make this decision, as it is a big one.

You already made decision by making this unprovoked public claim today. You are now accusing 3 DT members without proof. If you back out you should probably get some fresh red trust for trying to make your casino look more trustworthy by smearing DT members.
168  Economy / Reputation / Re: Betcoin.AG claims DT members demanded money to change feedback on: October 23, 2019, 03:23:14 PM
And you sent it to him because....?
I have the same question too.

He was the first who asked about it in the other thread.

I also think this should be public as it's a serious accusation. Hopefully it's a mis understanding, maybe spoofed email or not DT member.
169  Economy / Reputation / Re: Betcoin.AG claims DT members demanded money to change feedback on: October 23, 2019, 03:16:13 PM
Hello, to clarify, unreachable refers to the fact that they would not speak to us about removing the negative trust, not that they aren't active. There was 1 member who asked for money and we have sent proof of this to Coolcryptovator.

You need to make it clear. Right now basically you're accusing all three of them because it's not clear which one demanded money, if anyone actually did.
170  Economy / Reputation / Betcoin.AG claims DT members demanded money to change feedback on: October 23, 2019, 02:59:27 PM
Hello, everyone who left negative feedback in 2016 was based on 1 incident that they had heard about but were not involved with. The one player who was involved with this issue was satisfactorily compensated and continued to play here. Prior to us contacting everyone who left the negative feedback, there were about 15 of these (all from the one incident). Everyone we spoke to reversed their feedback, except those remaining. Of those remaining, they were either unreachable or demanded money to change their feedback. Thank you.

There are 5 DT negative ratings on Betcoin.AG:

Zepher - inactive
Blazr - inactive
dooglus - active
Lutpin - active
TwitchySeal - active

Are the 3 active DT members demanding money to change their feedback? I find that hard to believe.

That's a very bold claim. You owe it to this community to expose those who demanded money. Unless proven otherwise, I would rather trust DT members than a shady casino and a ref-link-spamming newbie.

172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dicing Strategy - 7% Winning chance | Run Over 15 Hours, Try it! on: October 23, 2019, 11:59:34 AM
Kindly enlighten me, i am not sure if i am calculating this correctly
I have the chance of hitting 125/125 losses at 1/10,000 rounds
So technically for every 10,000 round of 125 Bets, i have chance of 1 over the 10,000 for hitting a loss in streak of 125
Thus, when i bet over 125*10,000 single games = 1,250,000 single bet = I am having a close to 100% losing chance

You might be misunderstanding what a "chance" is. You can hit 125 losses immediately. The low chance doesn't mean it won't happen, and it doesn't mean it needs 10,000 tries to happen. On a larger scale, if you play for example 1 million rounds then your number of 125-loss streaks should be around ~100 but there is always variance.

In other words, you will lose, and sometimes you will lose very quickly, so any "strategy" expecting a win just means that will lose in frustration.

Never heard about this Betcoin and it would be great if OP provides a link to this website.

The link is in the title - betcoin.ag

It's a scammy casino tho: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=202115

If there are other other types of attacks, that doesn't make clipboard malware any more dangerous, especially for less experienced users. You can make your point about other attacks without confrontation with LoyceV - there is space for both of you on this board.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: October 23, 2019, 11:35:40 AM
In addition, BTC can not provide 2x or 5x in a short time. However, altcoins (surely not all) can be influenced by even the smallest news and this can cause them to multiply their prices several times.

I'm not talking about traders who (maybe) know what they're doing and can make money on those ups and downs. I'm talking about bag holders who keep holding declining bags of coins. It just doesn't make sense.

Not all altcoins will end up being pathetic, you have to think about the impact of bitcoin market dominance. Ethereum is still at number 2 according to coinmarketcap, don't rush to make a decision. In my personal opinion, bitcoin has some weaknesses in the concept and in the value of "assets", so I'm sure cryptocurrency still requires altcoin to develop blockchain technology, stable coin is a very good concept for the government to see that digital currency can be used as a payment tool.

And a few years ago Litecoin was #2. And a few years from now some other coin may be #2. Can you guess which one? You can't. It might not even exist yet. The point is, everyone hopes to be holding the next Ethereum but the fact is - most are not.
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question about Blockchain/Smart Contract/Decentralized Casino on: October 14, 2019, 01:00:13 PM
As far as I know, modern browsers support notifications, so in this regard there is nothing that such apps offer that browsers don't.

With an app you can send notifications even when the app is not active, as well as do other background tasks, such as tracking user's location, which are not possible with merely a website. That's not necessarily a deal breaker for a gambling site but definitely a must-have for something like Uber.

Also there are certain UI elements and touchscreen features that don't translate well to a web interface and/or don't work consistently across all browsers.
177  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: PaySave on: October 14, 2019, 12:47:49 PM
It's a ponzi scam. There is no such thing as 5% daily. Actually most of these scams are so lame these days they they will probably just run away with the deposits without bothering with the ponzi part. So if you're thinking that you'll get some money back if you jump in early enough - no.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Never Designed for Scalability on: October 14, 2019, 12:25:57 PM
the thing about Vitalik is that he created ethereum to make money nothing else.

He's already rich tho... his premine is worth probably a billion dollars. I don't think he's motivated only by money but he sounds like many other over-optimistic software developers who think that they can do anything in a fortnight. And he doesn't seem to have a real boss who can slap him back into reality.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, do you guys think cryptocurrencies will be gone anytime soon? on: October 12, 2019, 02:52:33 PM
First of all a cryptocurrency can't really be "gone" as long as there at least one node. Even if for example it gets stranded with high difficulty and no miners/stakers someone can still fork it and continue the blockchain.

As far as investment opportunities... I have a somewhat inflammatory thread on the altcoin board telling everyone to sell their coins: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5190104

The most common response is something like "I have these coins/tokens that I don't want to sell at a loss and I'll keep them in case they go up because that has happened in the past". So I think greed and this unfounded hope will keep the market going for a while against any rational thought. But the chances of hitting gold are so slim tho that you're better off gambling in a casino.

Check "top" coins from 2014 and compare investing in those vs investing in BTC when it was $200-400. Keep in mind that you couldn't see the future so you'd have bought some random "diversified" basket.

Wow, a legendary ponzi scammer from 2016...

Well, it's still a scam. There is no such thing as a "successful doubler".
